Couldn't get the motor apart. Created an air gap and ended up breaking the tabs in step 2 which theoretically should still release it but the motor is basically glued together...
Don't manually roll up the window, you risk backing out the twist lock of the cable spool housing from the door panel and unspooling the cable spool which is practically impossible to reassemble.
The one with the door grab? You need to undo it. You wont be able to manually raise the glass or motor. It is held by another mechanism. Its the white thing with teeth that you could turn manually while waiting for the replacement unit..
@@some3ody but with the 3 motor screws put in place, otherwise there is the risk of unclipping the black case that keeps the white thing which pulls the metal cables :) if it unclips from the 3 tabs you can remove the speaker to gain access to the back and rotate/clip it in place.
So as long as you remove the door panel with the handle, all you need to do is Unplug motor, unscrew and replace with new motor Plug new motor in And then you're good? Seems super easy but not sure if there's anything to worry about on the glass side
I've been trying to crack the same motor for days. Mazda made sure that buyers won't be able to open and repair it. Thanks for sharing.
Quite possibly the greatest repair video I’ve ever seen! Thank you so much

Great video. So, that whole black panel doesn’t need to be removed to get the glass? Can just replace the motor?
