This way to rig the hook is sooo good! I first saw it in your Disco Sculpin-video, and have showed it to all my friends. Genious! And so useful! It works even on an ordinary zonker-fly with a long wing/tail. Usually the fish bites the tail, and misses the hook, but with this rig I can nail them...
Some believe there's a better hook up down because of the fishes mouth . Going hook up you get less snags. Personally traditional wet flies and mid column scadi flies (like the foxy dog or senyo predator scandi) I fish hook down... near bottom i fish hook up i.e sculpins, winter patterns ( plus there hard to tie so a loss sucks)
