- After millions of years of subterranean and aquatic dominance, in the 1960s the Graboid Leech was cryogenically frozen. Fifty years later it has reemerged, refreshed, stronger than before, only to discover that in its absence, Jonathan Farmer had cloned it to create: the Mini-Me Graboid. It's just like its larger progenitor: wiggly, deadly, perhaps even a little... evil. It's got a squirrel tail and a composite loop body, with rubber legs, and a bead head, so it bobs and weaves and terrorizes the whole valley. This fly may be small, but it will not stop until it has taken over the world. We will call it.... Mini-Me
Just bought a $30 order because of this video of dubbing. And now I’m making another one that Fly Tyers Dungeon kraken is a very unique MOVING dubbing. Epic. I’m in love.
Sweet
I love that dubbing! A lot of my craws and buggers are tied with it
Excellent video! I'll be tying some of these tonight...
Great flies Jon, this one's goin in the big-fish box for sure.
Today I learned something! Awesome.
jon farmer got the sauce!
Nice work Jon. I was just looking at one of these flies in my box and was trying to figure out how you rigged the hook. Now I know!
would using wire to rig the stinger restrict the movement?
Yes without a doubt, If you don't like the twisted hitch you can use silvey's tube snake/tandem design.th-cam.com/video/GHaZD5NZRIY/w-d-xo.html around 8 min he shows how to tie a guide tube for your hook. This also works on a small hook shown here at the start th-cam.com/video/InAIse09Q2M/w-d-xo.html
Are you using micro pine squirrel body
Jon what materials you using for kryptonite sculpin nice work thanks
Hey Nicki. Thanks! I use a 5/32 blood red tungsten bead, flat diamond braid, pine squirrel (that gets tied off and glued behind the bead.) The ostrich on the flank, guinea and pine squirrel for the head.
One more thing is the ostrich plum and herl or just plum on the flank
@@nickikreidermacher7164 a plume is a entire feather made of herl including the stem.... You just use the herl unless your utilizing the stem to palmer, but even then you don't tie with full plumes
Pretty nice fly. Where can I find that dubbing?
Thanks for the vid!! Keep 'em comin'
Quick question - Do you have a mod on your vice to hold the shank? It doesn't look like it but wanted to check.
-Clueless trout bro
Would senyo ice dubbing work instead of kracken
Mike Kreidermacher you could use ice dub but I like a softer dubbing for this fly in particular.
And those rubber legs in that dubbing is quite unique. Adds a LOT of movement in that swim tank.
nice or what
