    In 2019 I bought a CAAD 10 frame/carbon fork For $650. It's a 58cm. 2015 Caad 10 black and white in color. I built it up done upgrades on it since then.
    Right now it is smokin hot with HED WHEELSET. Dura ace crank with 50t wolf tooth and some 105 group set. 11 speed. Aero handlebar. bb infinite bottom bracket. Alotta trial and error with bottom brackets and crankset. Since creaking has occured but I've learned it's not the frame rather the cranksets most of the time. Anywho it is my baby and it is a really good bike. I can't believe ur making a video of a CAAD 10 bike build. I literally know exactly what ur talking about these are really good race bikes

    I ride a Caad10 fourth season now, and is by far one of the best aluminum bikes ever made. It is so light and stiff that it can catch up with many carbon frames, and is probably better than many lower to middle quality carbon frames. I had a chance to upgrade to carbon frame, to a Cannondale super six, and after a few test rided didn't notice any huge difference compared with my Caad10. I will keep riding it until it breaks, which make take a long, long time....

    How did you buy a NEW caad10 frame?

  • @terbennett
    @terbennett 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    I own two CAAD10s and one CAAD12 . I prefer the CAAD10 too. Your frame is actually a 2011-2013 frameset; 2014-15 CAAD10 has internal rear brake cable routing.

    • @SergioGarcian_n
      @SergioGarcian_n 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Why? Just recently got a CAAD12 and wondering what I'm missing.

    • @terbennett
      @terbennett 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      @@SergioGarcian_n From a riding/racing experience perspective, I think the CAAD12 is the best aluminum bike you can buy. It does ride slightly smoother than the 10 due to the skinnier 25.4 seatpost vs. The 10's standard 27.2. Also the CAAD12 uses the newer BB30A vs the older, narrower BB30 used .oon the CAAD10. The frame is also slightly lighter on the CAAD10. The CAAD12 is an awesome machine.
      Why do I prefer the 10? Well, if I want to replace the seatpost, 27.2 is more common than 25.4. Same goes for the CAAD10's BB30 vs CAAD12's BB30A. BB30A is the newest version, but it is proprietary to Cannondale at this time. Don't get me wrong; BB30 started out the same way, but many companies have started using it in the past 10 years, so there are more options for replacement parts. However, the biggest reason for my choice, is the CAAD12 has all internal cable routing, which makes it less service-friendly. Internal looks cleaner, but replacing cables can be a headache

    • @SergioGarcian_n
      @SergioGarcian_n 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@terbennett Thank you! Since I do all my bike maintenance I find internal cabling annoying as well, but can live with having it only on one of my bikes. Using it for racing is the main reason I got this, hopefully my legs can keep up with it.

    I love building up my own bikes. I found it quite therapeutic and relaxing. I purchased my first road bike, 2nd hand in 2019. It was a 2012 Redline Metro Classic and it was a mess of different parts. I knew nothing about modern road bikes and equipment. I researched and learned as much as I could. Little by little, I replaced every single component except the drop bars. That bike went through 3 major changes/setups. I sold it a few months ago now, but soon after that bike and learning a whole lot, I've built up 6 bikes and kept 4. That 2012 Redline Metro, 2019 Cinelli Semper disc, 2017 State Thunderbird SSCX, 2017 Nashbar Carbon 105, Ribble CGR AL and a Mercier Kilo TT. My next project I'm going to take a shot at building Fairlight Strael 3.0 with Di2. I'm addicted to this.

      Check your CAAD12 size's head tube angle, then use 90° to subtract that number, the final answer will be the negative rise you need to have the stem body parallel to the ground. You won't be able to find that specific negative rise, so you can only get the closest match.

    Building up a bike on your own is a big challange. You need a lot of tools, knowledge, you need to submerge yourself in the deepest space of internet to find out compatibility issues. Because every frame and part and manufacturer use different standards. It is really a nightmare. Cycling industry needs standardisation. Why do you need 4 different seatpost diameters? Why do you need a dozen bottom bracket types? My homebuilt ebike is waiting for its components. I hope they will arrive before xmas. Just because I also like challanges. And because I am a cyclist, I don't have money for drugs...

      Since September 2020, I've been buying a lot of tools for myself at work and at home. I really do have the intention to come up with a home workshop so that I can be as less LBS-dependent as possible. The longer I stay in this field, the more I like working on my bike myself.
      Some of the tools I own, are considered overkill for home workshop use though.

    I just bought a similar CAAD10 as the one in the video and I'm planning to upgrade the 105 groupset to Ultegra. The way you built yours really inspired me! I also own a SuperSix Evo and absolutely love it, so I'm excited to see how this CAAD10 build turns out. Thanks for the great content and the inspiration!

    Just built up a CAAD9 with a mix of 6700 and 7000 components. One thing I don’t like with the post CAAD9 fames is the thick welding at the tube joints. Detracts from the sleek lines of the bike. Anyway, nice looking bike.

    I got a 12 after my SSix Evo frame broke. An improvement! After messing - and winning! - with the internal cabling I can appreciate the benefit and simplicity of the 10....

    Thumbs up before I finish watching, I love these bikes, I custom built my CAAD13 and I'm about to change a couple things, carbon bars, direct front computer mount and I'm waiting for a 28mm tubeless tire for the back.

    Great video! What was the final weight? Basically I have a similar setup except with Kysrium SL’s and FSA carbon Kwing bar, stem, seatpost, and carbon rail Prologo saddle.

    Love mine too. I have a 2015 CAAD10 in anodised silver and fluoroscent red. Its on an old 10 speed Shimano 105 5600 groupset. Not a fan of the all black newer groupset from Shimano. Most probably with upgrade to limited edition 105 7000 in polished alum.

    Challenge accepted, I even made a video about my build! I took a 1999 Cannondale T700 and built it as a gravel bike, I absolutely love the bike and have been looking for a touring frame to build for months!

    Good to see someone who wraps bar tape the correct way. Love the video. I have 2 CAAD 10 bikes myself. Both of them are under 7kg

    As a CAAD10 owner I endorse this video (except for the BB30 BB, my frame was undersized)

      I have many BB30 bikes and one with the best of the best ceramic bearings. They don't seem to matter at all compared to the condition of your BB. I have one bike with a BB30 sleeve made by BBInfinite and $10 bearings in it, and it spins longer than the ceramic ones do. If I give it a spin, I'll get literally 10+ rotations before it stops

    I've got a 6710 short cage rear mech working just fine with an 11-32 cassette.
    Nice clean bike.

    I have a 2013 CADD 10 that originally had rival on it. I bought it to go crit racing and raced a season. I enjoyed riding in the peloton with the others and would attack once in a while but I was to old and fat to be competitive. I had kids and just could not spend enough time training. I had to work to much. I upgraded the real derailleur to Force because I needed the longer cage for a 32 cassette for some steep hills. Then the front derailleur was always junk. So I upgraded to to the Force 22 with Yaw. Finally after crashing hard into a thick mail box and destroying my shifters, I upgraded them to force too. I love my CAAD 10 with Force on it. I have had it for over ten years now and it still looks great!! I clean it often and wax the chain. I have another cheaper, heavier bike that I ride everyday but once in a while if it is sunny out I take the racing bike out for a spin.
