Was the cook bread comment meaning this took a while to render? I can't workout what sort of software that is you have used.

Yes, the render took more time than anticipated. Using Blender. Mostly trying to incorporate a few different looping strategies. I believe the shaders were my biggest issue.

@@BoggleLogic Hi - Ah, Blender. I use Daz for my animations on YT (and Mandelbulber for the fractals) but I've read a lot of great things about blender and it seems to be a lot more versatile and flexible than Daz, but daz has access to loads of great 3D models. Not sure about Blender but in Daz you can change the res of the shaders to help speed up the render, like if something is not close up you probably don't need to use a 4k res version of the shader sort of thing. that said Daz is so slow at rendering compared to other stuff like unreal, but I think one of the reasons unreal is so fast is it bakes the shader/materials so it doesn't have to keep reloading it every frame. It means you don't get the perfect lighting responses on (sub)surfaces but it's generally not something people would notice too much on a video anyway. It can be a quicker render for a video to export into unreal but it always seems so much of a hassle to set up - hopefully that will improve. Anyway, I've liked and subbed you, look forward to seeing more work 👍

Thanks for the input. I've never really looked into Daz. I am certainly interested in mandelbulber. I have been doing my fractals in geometry nodes in blender but have yet to find the sweet spot between enough detail and blender crashing or taking days to render a single frame. I have Unreal too, but have not incorporated it into my workflow just yet. Still kind of new to all of this so taking small steps for now. Really enjoyed "Trainspired" BTW looking forward to digging into some of your other videos.

@@BoggleLogic thanks lots re video ...always a big ask expecting people to watch my long vids! 😀 If you can use Blender it shows you have an aptitude for these types of software so if keen on fractals I recommend Mandelbulber (it's what I exclusively use) It's free and being continually developed, as great support on FB and renders really quickly for basic/medium models as it's GPU based (as opposed to mandelbulb3D which is a much slower CPU - and I don't think it had been developed further for years). I remember being able to make some impressive looking fractals really quickly, like same day (and they have loads of examples you can use and click a series of randomise buttons if need be). The camera and co-ord work a bit different to Daz/Blender and you use keyframes but easy to learn, but it's like most software it has it's quirkiness & techniques needed and to get full control over what's going on it takes a bit of time. If you do like it chances are you'll be looking at hi-spec nividia cards for your pc before long (if not got already) - it flies then. I keep telling myself to learn unreal, on my 'must do' list ...along with other things like 'get a life' instead of making videos all the time! lol 🥴

Lol, I have a very similar list. downloading mandelbulber RN hopefully get a chance to check it out later on tonight. I am currently running a 3080 gpu hopefully that is enough to get started.
