that probe has got to be light as hell. I used to own a non turbo probe and it was pretty nimble with the stock setup. When I had it everyone kept telling me the potential that it had if I threw some money at it. at the time I was a poor college student and just needed reliable transportation so I couldn't do it. nice video, I like the editing with different camara angles. makes you really feel more and more like you were there when videos are edited this way. Great Job everyone except the Honda that kept mis shifting. geez

I miss my stepdad's 89 Probe GT he bought her in 2003 off my sister's friend and kept it for 10 years, she was white and its was the first car where I learned how to drive stick when I was 15. I remember hitting boost and it was the best feeling ever. Now I'm 22 and up to this day I still miss that car. Seeing this video brings up a lot of good nostalgic feelings and memories. Makes me wanna buy one, theres a lot of potential with these cars.

The Evo doesn't really seem like 1000 HP but it still pulled on the probe a fair bit. You can't really judge how fast it is without being there and actually seeing the car moving.
First of all, let's get something straight, in the video, it's captioned "1000 AWHP EVO X VS Probe GT", as seen in the Evo x dyno youtube link posted, this statement is NOT accurate and the highest AWHP value is 854.
Let's think here for a minute.. (Do note I'm not defending anyone, just using common sense)
I watched the dyno run of what looked like the same Evo X but without any stickers.
-> The probe has an acclaimed Wheel Horse Power value of 400
-> The Evo has an acclaimed All Wheel Horse Power value of 854 (youtube dyno link)
That's a difference of 454 HP
-------------
-> The probe weighs as much or little as 2850 lbs
-> The Evo weighs as much or little as 3527 lbs
That's a difference of 677 lbs
-------------
-> The Probes power to weight ratio = 0.1614035088 (460 HP Crank [Including the 15% drivetrain loss *estimated] / 2850 lbs)
-> The Evo's power to weight ratio = 0.302523391 (1067 HP Crank [Including the 25% drivetrain loss *estimated] / 3527 lbs)
So technically, the Evo was pulling 1.8x(estimated) faster than the Probe and from the "looks" of the second race, it looks to be somewhat accurate. Hard to tell without being there!

The probe is around 460whp on that run, and street tires, Evo makes over 400whp than that probe on that run and awd on drag tires. it clearly shows in the video, i soon as probe started spinning, the Evo was pulling away. at the end of the day, the Evo is a faster car that that probe .. That day.

it's funny they only have the evos "old" dyno numbers. you dont have the dyno sheet for your new setup. who doesn't sit there with there phone while it's being tuned. but I guess I can't talk because my video was lost due to breaking my damn phone and I can't show my hp #'s anymore. but without the nitrous my 80mm turbo 03 cobra put down 786whp 678tq on 16psi on pump gas in las Vegas 100° weather . after the new fuel and fuel system ($1500)/built tranny ($3000)/more boost and nitrous ($1000) I'm hoping to see 1000whp but probably run 850 on a daily. won't be able to put all of that hp to the ground on lowered suspension and an 18in radial butnitll be fun.

Not only do you need to compare the power to weight ratio, but the setup within the transmission and gearing ratios. All that aside, the BMW driver is still bad.

That evo x is running about 580-600 awhp, I know exactly what gear timing is in a 1000 awhp evo x because of the ratios and the time sequence that they shift and the gear timing was way off on this one because the video was fast-forewarded.
