      What's dumber is the symbol is VAGUELY similar to the Shriner's. In the loosest way possible. The Shriner's symbol is a star inside a downwards facing crescent with a scimitar on top. Stan's is a Pacman fish with a dot in front of it. Same GENERAL layout but otherwise doesn't look anything like it and thus nothing to be worried over.

    Two of these instances of censorship have since been undone:
    1.) The symbol on Grunkle Stan’s fez is back after Gravity Falls fans gave enough of an outcry towards its removal.
    2.) Splash was restored to being uncensored when Disney upgraded their master of the movie to a new 4K restoration, apparently either forgetting or not caring to continue applying the edit they previously made to that film.

      It never seemed that way to me either.
      It was based on the nostalgia of adults and what they grew up with.
      And just about every joke went over kid’s heads.
      The problem is the misconception of thinking Disney or animation in general is for kids only. No it is not. It can be for adults.
      If Disney is this hell bent of not having stuff made for adults on their platform, they should stop being a monopoly and buying companies known for making movies for adults.

    The hamilton censorship to me is the most offensive, Disney had nothing to do with the making of Hamilton yet they brought it to their streaming service and decided how it should be aired.
    They wanted all the profits but none of the 'dirty laundry', having the cake and eating it too

    • @SerenityLibs
      @SerenityLibs 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +29

      The way this is presented in the video is a little misleading. The edits were made to appease the MPAA, not Disney. Hamilton was originally supposed to be released in movie theaters before 2020 happened. If a movie contains more than 1 f bomb, it's an automatic R rating. They made the edits they did so it would be rated PG-13 and younger people would be able to see it in theaters.

    • @norrineretz2011
      @norrineretz2011 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +14

      You have to remember that Miranda himself agreed to these changes and chose which one would be kept. He could've sold the rights to anyone but opted for Disney. He's worked with Disney in the past and has been in the industry long enough to know Hamilton as-is would get an R rating no matter who released it. It has nothing to do with Disney wanting profits and everything to do with appeasing the MPAA for that PG-13 rating to give the film more visibility.

    • @mrceagle

    I read this Disney Urban Legend online long ago....
    Disney's Kim Possible cartoon series had Kim Possible always in a navel baring bared midriff outfit in school, at home, or fighting bad guys: And unnamed " Parental Groups " were complaining about this " Sexy " outfit being worn by a teen/ preteen girl character. SO Disney had an episode where this outfit was damaged and her choosing another midriff-covering outfit to replace it.
    Whether this rumor was true or not, Disney did change cartoon Kim Possible's outfit to a less revealing outfit during the course of the series.

It is rare that they have their own original content and feel the need to buy the original content from other medium and alter it to make sensitive people happy.
