Bruce Timm is definitely the Akira Toriyama of the DCAU. Constantly flubs timeline placements, gives wrong info, plotholes etc. But is hailed as the “all seeing all knowing” of the property world because he created it.
If we get justice league unlimited season 4 I hope superman finally tells Lois he’s superman because he has been avoiding that for yeaaaaaars
That's one of the biggest head-scratchers I've had after watching "Superman: The Animated Series", you'd think after nearly three seasons without Clark fessing up that those making the show were saving it for the finale with Superman's (seemingly) final confrontation with Darkseid, with Clark considering the possibility that he may never come back from that and Lois would never know the truth about him or his feelings after how close they've grown, or that after he defeated him he was lucky to be alive and should make the most of that upon returning to Earth by confessing to Lois and trusting her with his secret, yet for some reason neither option seemed to cross anyone's mind before the show ended.
In short: Should we get anything new (be it another show or movie) in the DCAU after JL vs FF that features both Supes and Lois (with Dana Delany reprising the role), this long overdue moment definitely needs to happen (or at least be confirmed to have happened at some point prior).

Okay, but what if Miss Martian was just saying that Robin USED TO BE a teenager and work alongside Batman, not that he CURRENTLY IS a teenager working alongside Batman.
Still, if the events of the ROTJ (Return of the Joker) flashback had already happened, I think Batman's reaction would be less "Point taken", and more like "DON'T REMIND ME OF THAT!"

I was gonna say the same thing regarding Miss Martian possibly saying that Batman used to work with teenagers. After all, at this point he'd already worked with 2 of them (Dick and Tim).
It definitely is possible! That’s why the 2 other timeline possibilities are still technically “the real answer” as well, until we have other evidence besides Tim to narrow it down even further.
There's just too much shit crammed in before the flashback of RotJ for it to make sense. I firmly believe the flashback had to take place between JL and JLU at latest for Robin to still be young. Otherwise we're saying TNBA, JL and JLU all happened within a couple years, which is not fun to me to compress the timeline that way.

Superman Debuts in 1938, Batman in 1939, the JSA in the 40s, the JLA in the 50’s
Atlantis, Themyscera and the Green Lantern Corps etc etc...
The Teen Titans in the 1970s
The Dark Knight Returns in the mid 80’s and such
Possibly Batman Beyond in 1999 taking over the cowl, or Damien Wayne taking a similar role.

You get it. It’s like a catch all history that spans decades and all fits together.
But today (2020 as of this comment) we could have New events, new characters, a universe that changes over time, happening at the same time as our own.

Michael Rhett I just looked into it because I’ve never heard of that before, and from what I can tell it’s a similar idea, yeah. I’ll have to give it a read. Though I would love a universe of the DC’s multiverse that is completely independent from comic-book time. Where all of DC’s history is history, and now in the modern day we have new heroes that battle contemporary issues, with characters that can age and grow, stories that always evolve, with room for in depth story telling... and pew-pew-laser-blast-punchy-punch spandex fights... gotta have those. Neither charecter existed when JLU was on the air. Harley never existed in the comics* before being created for the show.
*except for the name Harlequin the name given to Dula Dent in Teen Titan comics.

Though the pack in comics was in development in 1981, and the toys finalized that same year, it was February of 1982 that MOTU was introduced to the public either at the Toyfare tradeshow or early release of He-Man, Skeletor and Battle at. They wouldn't be popularized untill Filmation's cartoon which hit airwaves in late 1983.
(Bonus fact for those who don't know, this is where Bruce Time started his career working for Filmation's on He-Man and freelancefor Mattel on He-Man, mostly in mini comis and some packaging art.)

I always get the sense that Bruce Timm is really annoyed by the DCAU/comic book fandom in general. In interviews he often comes across like he doesn’t particularly want to be there (even in interviews for things like The Killing Joke before it got all of its negative reception.:.). And then, of course, we see how he gets when asked about the DCAU in basically any capacity. It’s kinda a shame, but Instill respect him immensely. I just wish he could come across a little more friendly.

As a person from Portland Oregon, growing up watching DCAU. This was trippy. As a kid, I always thought the characters were real and dreamed they'd come to Portland so I could meet them. Imagine me watching this movie realizing I could unknowingly be a background character here. I could have a counterpart in the DCAU. Pretty exciting.
Particularly if you research Portland, actual superheroes exist here, Gaurdian Shield, Zeta-Man, the King, etc. Imagine if they all have counterparts.
Yeah! I grew up about 2 hours from Portland, so it was definitely wild to hear Kevin Conroy’s Batman say “Portland, Oregon.”
3:13 This is all well and good, but where I disagree with making a timeline is when the little problems and things that are bound to exist decanonize things like the last issue of Batman Adventures vol 2.
Other than that, though, it is a lot of fun and can help us understand the universe more.
It's fun to watch these out of order and then seeing the missing gaps in episodes I've already seen. "Oh, that's Cyber James sending the error messages!"

They should do a Ben 10 and DCAU crossover to honor him or a Tiny Toon adventures,Animianics,Freakazoid(Dexter Douglas) and Pinky and Brain and Justice League crossover since those cartoon were created by Paul dini and Bruce Timm!
I don't think Bruce Timm would agree. Freakazoid was not the show he wanted to make. Although Freakazoid and the Creeper teaming-up to stop The Lobe and Ra's al Ghoul would be boss. I'll let you put two-and-two together as to why I picked those particular villains in the same basket.
the extra bridges thing actually makes sense, assuming the DCAU world is layed out with the same map as the DC prime universe it's cannon (site:JLA/Avengers) that the earth in the dc universe is actually slightly larger then the real world earth resulting in alot of citys having extra buildings and in this case bridges.
I guess placing Far From Home earliest makes sense as the Fatal Five were weaker and it could be explained that they somehow got a power boost but the time travel technology has seriously regressed.

My point is, that hardly seems "non-reconcilable" to me and I think it's a little unfair to knock out such a large source of potential DCAU canon without at least giving it its own Will It Canon video or something. (Also I might be remembering things wrong. Haven't read those comics in a while.)

I'm sure it's been said but Tim doesn't have to have been a teenager during the fatal five, m'gann only needed to transform into his teenage self. Of course he looks the youngest he ever did (imo) as baby joker so maybe he's just a short king forever. Until he grows up. Nevermind.
You say they could push Joker's Death's Period if they keep making content in that time period but a likely scenario could be that time travel caused changes in events. Which means the events of Batman Beyond could change.
Also you say Miss Martian could have been born between 1986 and 1992 but that depends if she "actually aged". A possible scenario could be maybe a clone like Galatea cuz technically she would be younger than 10 years old but was aged artificially.
Also could it be possible that Miss Martian just turned into a younger version of Tim when he was an actual teenager? (on a side note you say he doesn't look 21 in RotJ but for all we know he could be very short throughout most of his life)
Yes, the Tim 21 thing is debatable for sure. It’s his definite age by that calendar year, but whether or not he looks that age is up in the air.

Well, the DCAU is a place where human space stations near Jupiter and Saturn exist, so 22 bridges in Portland at the pre-2010 era makes sense in some regard.
Anyways, watching this to conquer boredom, though I won't be watching the movie to finish up my personal DCAU long binge. "Epilogue" is still the better endgame point, with "Destroyer" before it.
3:09: He's still sorta right. You could say Batman Beyond (minus "Epilogue") ends at 2042, 50 years after the start of B: TAS via the year 1992.
9:20: You should see Civvie 11 and his descriptions of John Carmack.
Shame we didn't get those prequel tie-in comics. The appearances of Ms. Martian, Jessica Cruz, and Star Boy beg many questions.

Hey, Watchtower Database guys, you have a situation on so many levels. 1. When Miss Martian transformed into Tim Drake that was only as a rebuttal towards the "I don't work with teenagers" shtick. Batman also worked with Dick Grayson and Barbara Gordon. They were in college during the late 90s, sure, but Dick had to have been a teenager when he first became Robin. 2. G.L. Killowag is implied to have been Jessica Cruz's trainer. 2.1. Killowag looks nothing like his Justice League self. 2.2. Katma Tui was the G.L. trainor in the DCAU. 3. The absence of evidence is not evidence, as in there is no clear evidence to suggest that Crisis on Two Earths takes place in some form or another in the DCAU. 3.1. Firestorm and Black Lightning were gonna join the League in Crisis, but they do not exist in DCAU (they have Sole Power standing in for Black Lightning and Booster Gold for Firestorm). 3.2. Hal Jordan is G.L. instead of John Stewart.
Theory One based off of points 1 and 2: This is an alternate universe of the main DCAU.
Theory Two based off of point 2 only: The universe crossed over with Green Lantern the animated series, as indicated by Killowag being voiced by Kevin Michael Richardson.
Theory Three: None of these two films are canon, the writers are making it up as they go along with scraped concepts.
I suggest you watch Will it Canon?

One thing I'm surprised that you of missed was that at the end of Crisis On Two Earths, after Batman calling in "reinforcements" during the Crime Syndicate's Wonder Woman and Marvel Family's intrusion of the Watchtower, the league decides to expand. So in actuality it DOES work......except for the fact that many of those reinforcements weren't seen on JLU. But still, the IDEA works.

since we know harley quit after that encounter in the flashback , and if the dee dee twins are harleys grand children does that make knightwing their grandfather via harleys child and if this is true that would change the timeline of when batman and harley takes place and the flashback, and i think it may be true cause what would be the point of that knightwing and harley scene taking place

Theory on how Tim Drake looks the same age in Return of the Joker flashback. Maybe somehow he got trapped in the Phantom Zone or some other dimension where time moves differently while working with the DCAU Teen Titans. So when he came out he looked the same age as when he went in even though perhaps a few years had passed
I looked some things up, if we assume Static Shock takes place in NEw Jersey, the Driver Permit age of Jersey is 17.
Which fixes like, a bunch of things.

On crises on two Earths in canon, Hal Jordan is the Green Lantern, so that means that he was a Green Lantern way before Once and Future Thing episode. That equals a timeline on Jordan before the Amazo coming back to Earth, and Jordan was not with the rest of the Green Lantern corp.

It’s definitely possible. The movie still has to be before the RotJ flashback because of Harley’s appearance and the reference to the Joker being in Arkham. But it is possible Tim isn’t a teenager anymore at this point.

Good video. I really think the shapeshifting into Tim was a nod to RotJ already having happened. The only wy it makes sense to me is that the flashback takes place between JL and JLU, or in 2002 (going by your math). We Know Tim is 51 in RotJ in 2040 or whatever, so it's really the last year he could possibly look that young/pre-puberty. Joker, Robin and the Bat supporting characters never reappear during JLU, so I don't think it's a stretch to say the Bruce we see there is in heavy trauma and denial and just not talking about it. (He kept being Batman, so he had to do something with his time) No matter how you slice it, anything after 2002 doesn't make sense, but I agree condensing the entire JL/JLU timeline into a couple years to fit it in makes even less sense.
I think that’s certainly one way to look at it, but it’s up to you to think it doesn’t make sense to place it after JLU 😉. The creatives have said it’s the last present day event, and almost always say a new thing that comes out is before it. Tim’s character model is a character model, Batman likely would’ve cut ties with EVERYONE after it happened, and if Miss Martian brought it up so soon? Yikes.

My best guess is that Fatal Five takes place sometime mid-S3 of JLU. The Justice League seems to have a headquarters on earth, which started in S3, but Kara hasn’t gone to the future yet, which was in late S3.
Who says she’s not gone to the future yet? There’s no context of that sort in the movie. If you mean because she’s not seen among the Legion in their scenes, neither is Bouncing Boy or a number of other members. When we spoke to the writer of the film, his thoughts were that she’s just off on some other mission. There wasn’t really room for her in the movie.
@@dcauwatchtower If she had gone to the future yet, you’d think someone would bring it up. Superman especially would have reason to. “Hey, my cousin Kara went to the future. Have you met her?” Also pretty sure Bouncing Boy had a display in the Legion’s Hall of Heroes or whatever when they saw Starboy’s memories. Also, J’onn hasn’t left the League to go on his walkabout yet, which is in JLU 3x04.

J’onn J’onzz has presumably left on his walkabout (3x04) but Supergirl hasn’t gone to the future yet (3x10). (The captions say J’onn left for Rann, but I think they mean John Stewart based on context clues.) Also, Hawkgirl apparently returned to Thanagar, which couldn’t have been until after 2x08.
I still have a question for the JL vs the fatal five movie and that’s were the hell was the flash during the whole thing?
And weird question probably but could the Harley and Batman movie and fatal five movies respectively be their own alternate universes?

Nah, they’re both part of the DCAU proper. The Flash is somewhere else, really doesn’t need more of an explanation than that. They don’t go out of their way to tell us where Iron Man is every Thor movie.

Something just occurred to me. Perhaps Batman says "I'm not doing this with teenagers" was said because the Return Of The Joker already happened. That may be why he took a pause before he says "point taken" to Miss Martian
Nah, Batman breaks ties with all his allies after that, and it’s at the tail-end of “present day” stories. There’s other factors too that I can’t remember off the top of my head, but that would also be a real dick move.
Batman would definetly refuse to work with Miss Martian if Return of The Joker flashback already happened. Her reminding him of it would be the nail in the head if he somehow considered it.
Was Jessica Cruz in anything else in the DCAU? Because that character is a lot younger then most of the shows, but this is a movie that's over a year old now, so it makes sense.

Nothing has been announced yet, but I wouldn’t be surprised if we get more past just “Batman and Harley Quinn” and “Justice League vs the Fatal Five”

Didn’t “The Once and Future Thing” reboot the universe or timeline? What if “Return of the Joker” takes place in the pre-“Once and Future Thing” timeline and after that episode a new timeline was created, but the original timeline still exists on a different frequency. That would give the DCAU writers more creative freedom. Maybe “Epilogue” takes place in the original timeline, which kept on going after “Once and Future Thing”. So any “Batman Beyond” stuff takes place in the original timeline. It’s complicated I know, but these are shows and a universe based off of comic books which have included many weird things like Supergirl dating a horse in silver age of comics (don’t ask). I also think the DCAU should have a soft reboot. Their own Crisis on Infinite Earths or Flashpoint Paradox. It would be interesting to see a DCAU take on one of those stories. Especially since I really want to see Professor Zoom/Reverse-Flash in a canon DCAU material.
