HAD to come back to this after rewatching the movie "The Iron Giant." If ANYONE needed to hear that message "You are who you CHOOSE to be", it's THESE guys.......... I SO badly want to just reach in and hug them all and tell them "You guys are MORE than your programming!"
I think they understand that, but what they *chose* to be was something they *couldn't* be. And they didn't want to fulfill any other purpose because to them it felt unnatural.
It's kind of like the hypothetical of "what if a gun had a soul but didn't want to be a gun?", but instead it's "what if a gun wasn't allowed to be a gun, but didn't want to change?".
Wow...I never knew an archie comic about megaman could be so...deep and...sad... but this was a good moral as well as a slice of life. It's tough pill to swallow, but light is right. We can't save everyone and not everybody wants to be saved. So...Mister X, seems like they're taking things in a different direction than the original games. (Unless it's an elderly wily in disguise) It's sad that we may never see any plots or stories as good as the ones in the comics in any megaman ever again. THANKS CAPCOM!

Well, if you actually do a bit of digging into the lore, the Mega Man series itself is particularly deep, and it definitely has its darker side to it even just within the original series.
Would repurposing Quick man and the others who chose decommissioning be salvation? When you take away someone's individuality, that's not salvation. It's autocracy unparalleled.
...... Depends on what you mean by *"Saving"* being able to live the way you want... Potentially... (HOW....) having the right .... THE ability .... and the *means*.... to Achieve --- that goal ..... ...to be "unable" to *achieve** that.... it's the closest thing to a living death ......

Quick man never gave up on his life. That was the whole point he was making.
Imagine being knocked unconscious and then waking up in a hospital. Upon your recovery the doctors tell you that they can release you that day. However, the condition is that you fake your personality and behave like a completely different person. You're not allowed to engage in any of the things that you liked previously. You are required to live your life according to the whims of the General Public. If you don't you would be executed. I'm with quick man. I would accept my execution swiftly before I had to live a life like that
His life seemed forfeit at that point... but his speed wasn't disabled. I wonder what would have happened if he zipped over to the computer and tried to reactivate the weapons himself. The other robots that ended up in the museum might have helped distract the rest and escape too. Maybe there's another doc out there willing to work with them, or maybe they could have taken over an abandoned wily lab and learned to manage their own maintenance and come up with their own schemes. The robots that chose to be reprogrammed showed signs of an ability to choose their function. So did Blues, and Shadowman. Thoughts like these keep me up at night since reading this chapter. But... even as I write an AU built around some of those possibilities, I keep thinking their uncompromising principles are impressive

I just realized what Mr. X (Aka: Xander Payne) was referring to when he said he saw the FUTURE. (Not necessarily the Worlds Unite event)
In the Mega Man timeline, he was talking about the the Maverick Wars from the X series, the Weil Conflict from Zero/ZX, and the post-apocalypse of the world from Legends...
He KNEW what was gonna happen to the world and it all went to shit after X's awakening and the Rise of Reploids, who are NOT bound by the 3 critical Laws of Robotics like Rock or the other Robot Masters.
That's why he made Wily try to conquer the world again, to make everyone afraid of advanced technology like the sentient Robot Masters and make the worlds gradually resent it enough to the point society would call them into question about their continued existence.
Basically, he was trying to sabotage the semi-canon timeline. In the end though, he just helped it happen the way it did.
I can't believe I just found this. The voice acting was superb! All of you were amazing!
I love the conflict of this issue. It really shows the differences between the Mega Man and Mega Man X timelines. Back in this time, the general public didn't really care what happened to these bots. They were machines and had to have a function, or they were worthless.
It would have been interesting. They were decommissioned, but NOT scrapped. Maybe in in future issues, they would have been brought back online to help society fight off an external threat. That was the plan until the comic was put on indefinite hold.

Uh... you don't know that, they are alien robots, they could very well have free will like reploids, we don't know enough about them to be able to tell if yes or not.
Quick Man could have been emergency services. He could get to an accident faster than anyone, and with Gemini Man, with programming, could have been emergency robots, saving lives. Gemini Man could also have been security, with his cloning ability. Metal Man and Crash Man could work with Guts Man, Cement Man, and Hard Man in construction and demolition, as well as other practical industrial work. Heat Man could work with Fire Man, or even Wood Man, using his abilities for controlled burns in forestry to help them grow back better.
Top Man could be used to test the effects of G Forces on a robot body, and create Astro bots, to explore and document the galaxy, as well as use his tops to hook sensors to to survey things.
Magnet Man could easily work with Bright Man, and Spark Man in power system work. Their mastery of electrical would be critical.
Needle Man would be an excellent mining and drilling robot.
Even if they found purposes Quick Man made it clear he didn’t WANT to be reprogrammed

@@skibot9974 why would that be a problem though? It’s not like they enjoy hurting humans and is it really worse having obey more of them instead one crazy doctor? Again, they have choice to pick any job they want and enjoy any job they please. They’re not being forced to work with humans, if they really hate their jobs they can get new ones to enjoy or simply be deactivated. As shown with the robot masters who choose to stay active, when they were reprogrammed they went with it willing and their personalities weren’t changed, they weren’t forced to love their jobs either.

I am completely in love with these dubs you and the team made. The Mega Man 3 arc was a very interesting and engaging presentation thanks to the music and actor/actress choices. You know, I would LOVE to see a dub from you regarding the Mega Man 1, 2, or even the Ra Moon arc. Honestly, this is my go-to when it comes to Archie Mega Man dubs! I'll be waiting for another future dub from you guys! :D
Dang…the Wily robot masters sound as if they were combat veterans. After experiencing war and coming back, many of them questioned about their purposes. If military combat is all they knew, what else could they do…or learn

This was one of the greatest issues in the archie megaman line, so having the voice acting just makes it so much better. The second half of this issue is easily the best part thanks to the emotions being conveyed, great job on this!

Shaun and Tasha sound spot on as usual, and your range certainly improved Andrew. All the Robot Masters and Roselyn sound good too, and I was surprised you got Fair as Stern (who did a good job BTW) Tyler as Wily really grew on me as well. I thought he was a bit, for lack of a better word, unpolished at first, but in the later half of the 3 Saga and this showed you really play the part excellently. Also, I like how Mr X sounds like how Wily does in the Battle Network series.
The audio mixing is also great too. It's great to see how better you get over the years with this.
Overall, another excellent video man. Best of luck with whatever you have in store in the future.

In Megaman 7 there are mutiple decommissioned robot masters in the background of the robot museum stage, while in Megaman 9, all the bosses had reached their expiration date. Meaning they were all gonna be scrapped if they weren't given a new purpose.
The crappy ways Repliods were treated in the X series was likely a carry over from how Robot Masters were handled in the classic series.
But it' debatively worse in X due to the fact that Repliods have minds that totally equal to humans, they had full free will yet were still being treated like tools.
I know this is an emotional moment about identity and purpose. But…
“Express Courier? You want a weapon like me to become ‘Mail Man’? That’s not happening!”

First off I just want to say that this is absolutely amazing. And I want to thank you for letting us help you bring this arc to life. It's abit sad that it's all coming to an end, but it was such an awesome ride seeing everyone grow into what they are today. I hope that we can help continue to bring these characters and stories to life my friend. Great job. :)

It's been fantastic having you on as a cast member, and one of the best parts has been listening to your Wily voice grow and evolve over these last two years. It's been a long road with this series hasn't it? I can remember when you started all this, thinking back on all the hard work you and all the great voice actors put into each dub. You all really have come a long way and I'm proud of every single one of you, especially you. I'm proud of you most of all~ ^^
It is a little bittersweet to see it all end, but I know you're far from done and I wanna be there with you through it all, helping you in any way I can.
Possible Robot Masters Jobs (if they could get back online one day)
Quick Man could've been work as a Mailman Deliverer.
Crash Man could've been work with Bomb Man.
Gemini man could've been work as a spy infiltrator robot with the power of splitting personality.
Heat Man could've been work with Fire Man as his aid at an incinerator factory.
Top Man could've been work as a dance choreographer (at least, he likes to play figure skating in his free time, though)
Metal Man could've been work as a Woodcutter.
Magnet Man could've been work as a mine removal robot to prevent humans from walking at it.
And, lastly, Needle Man could've been work as a knitting robot expert on a sewing factory.
Quick Man here made it clear he does NOT want to be programmed.
If I were Quick Man, I'd hate to use my speed for delivering mail. That life sounds mundane for a speedster.

I think there's a mistake in the comics. Dr. Light said he had a hand in building 8 of the 16 Wily bots. But he had no hand in the construction of Shadow Man

No he didn't... The comics show Wily building those 8 all by himself, and they even say that unlike the Light line of robot masters, the first Wily line was designed with the sole purpose of destroying Megaman

If we did get a Mega Man V adaptation, V not 5, I could see them reactivating the museum Robot Masters to help form a resistance against the Stardroids. Could also make for the perfect time for some to rejoin Wily and others to find their new purpose.

QuickMan just could not shut up since the other Robot Masters seemed OK with reprogram before he talked also didn't they understand that the function that they were given was there original one?
Quickman wasn't given an a function. they were rebuilt and reprogramed but what can you do with a bomb and a fuse? it's only purpose it's to blow up. It literally cannot function for anything else but blowing up. It can't help in hospitals, it can't help in reconstructions (in Crashman's case since his explosions are not the ones that are contained and small, and the people would probably prefer using the items then a robot that can go rouge) and it can't even help in the environment.
@@AlejandroRodriguez-cy8ee okay first of all the MM1 and 3 robots were built by Light with functions to better society but the Mega Man 2 robots were built explicitly by Wily for the purpose of killing Mega Man, they were weapons first. That's said some of the MM3 Robots willingly shut down while some MM2 Robots found a new purpose. Also demolitions is a thing, Cashman would've been fine, hell one of the MM1 Robots is LITERALLY called Bomb Man and he has a normal helpful function

i don't really understand the motives behind robot masters's decision to be shut down. crash man could work alongside with bomb man for demolition purposes, heat man could work with fire man, top man could work as a dance teacher, and working as a lumberjack isn't so bad (metal man was designed after cut man after all)...
i get why gemini, needle, magnet and quick men decided to go offline, but the others could've done so much for the world...
I could see Quick Man helping out Rescue teams or even with the Police.

Quick Man could have been a rescue bot, Top Man could have been a dance instructor, Metal Man could have cut metal and built buildings, Needle Man could have worked on railroads, Heat Man could have been a welder, Magnet Man could have stabilized machines, Gemni Man could have helped in a mine stabilizing things and working hard and Crash Man could have helped with excavation and other things. Its so sad they had to be shut down when they all had something they could have done.

You know, I really don’t know why so many of the robot masters chose to be shut down. If it’s a purpose their lacking, that could have been easily fixed
Spark man and magnet man could’ve worked at electrical plants

I think it's less that they had no additional function, and more that they simply didn't want to serve industrial roles. Metal Man said it best, there's simply no appeal in becoming something you perceive as lesser just to keep existing in their eyes. They'd rather cease to be as who they are instead of living on as people who won't be them.
EXACTLY why I came up with an idea of some sorts: Basically, someone TRULY benevolent gets permission from the Robot Museum to adopt/reactivate these guys and give them jobs and a home along with a new purpose
to be celebrity gladiators/prizefighters in a non-lethal fighting tournament/combat sport franchise like Robot wars except NO killing. (For anybody who's a Ratchet and Clank fan, think of Dreadzone, except NOT a death/blood-sport. Like Smash Bros.)
Said franchise is also a rehab/therapy center for troubled youth/adults that are organic OR robotic that helps people channel aggression/battle instincts in a healthy/positive way and raises charity
for said rehab and therapy along with rehoming/upgrading robot masters/robots and giving them a new purpose in AND out of battle so NOBODY has to be scrapped. Speaking of which, this organization also brings awareness to how
heartless that law is and also better treatment and equal rights as NOT just tools, ESPECIALLY for the Robot Masters!
And for those who don't wish to fight, other options are available such as arena design and architecture/decoration
or theatre and entertainment! Quickman, Crashman and Metalman along with Slash Man and Burner Man are the permanent/resident grand champions.

@@twlightwolf8463 what does it matter what Rock and Light think? It’s the robot master choice, not theirs. It’s not a terrible idea to have the robots work in the military just in case there’s more threats like Wily out there.

The Robot Museum well that explains the events of Mega Man 7
Fanfic: During the Seventh arc, during the struggle between Megaman and Mash the robot, the containers holding Quick Man, Metal Man, Heat Man, Crash Man, Top Man, Needle Man, Magnet Man and Gemini Man break and they reactivate. Quick Man being mad that Light deactivated him attacks Mega Man. Mash is about to crush Quick Man but Mega Man saves him. Magnet Man then pulls Mash's head off his body and Crash Man fires a Crash Bomber and the head blows up, causing the body to fall. The robot masters are not ready to forgive and forget and they go their separate ways, with Mega Man being contacted by Dr. Light that four more of Wily's robot masters, those being Spring Man, Slash Man, Shade Man and Turbo Man, are on a rampage.
While Mega Man is refuelling, Metal Man and Heat Man find themselves in Slash Man's jungle. Slash Man attacks them and Metal Man launches his Metal Blades but Slash man slices them to ribbons. Heat Man is hesitant to fight as his power would burn down the jungle but is impaled by Slash Man's claws. Slash man has Metal Man pinned down to a tree with his middle claw retracted, but extending closer and closer to Metal Man's face, but Mega Man saves him by blasting Slash Man with Freeze Cracker, and Heat Man's Atomic Fire, blasting him to bits. Metal Man rushes over to Heat Man, mourning over his fallen brother. Mega Man offers to have Heat Man repaired. Mega Man then copies Slash Man's Slash Claw data and moves on.
Magnet Man and Crash Man find themselves inside Spring Man's theme park and find themselves tied up in coils, with Spring man himself threatening to push the two down a long flight of stairs. Mega Man comes in and is rather dumbfounded by Spring Man and how he caught Magnet Man and Crash Man so easily. Magnet Man admits they were unaware of the spring traps and found themselves stuck to a wall. Mega Man attacks Spring Man with Thunder Bolt but it turns him into an electromagnetic coil, grabbing Mega Man and pounding him into the ceiling. He tries the Slash Claw and it tears him to pieces. Mega Man then cuts the two out of their bonds and copies Spring man's Wild Coil. The two were rather dumbfounded and take Spring man's body to Dr. Light, with Crash Man struggling to carry Spring Man's lower torso, until Magnet Man offered to carry both halves.
Needle Man and Gemini Man ended up getting caught by Shade Man, who tries to bite Needle Man's neck but notices he has no neck to speak of, so Gemini Man is fair game. Mega Man arrives to fight Shade Man using the Wild Coil, which damages him. During the struggle, Gemini Man tells Needle Man to fire a needle at his left hand. Needle Man fires hitting it's mark and Gemini Man uses it as a makeshift lock pick, freeing himself and Needle Man. Gemini Man has a strategy meeting with his clones who offer different points on the situation. After watching Mega Man get drained of energy by Shade Man, the time for debating was over and Gemini Man aimed his Gemini Laser right at Shade Man's eyes, blinding him, and Needle Man impales Shade Man with the Needle Cannon. Gemini Man offers Mega Man an E-Tank and the latter copies Shade Man's Noise Crush and departs. Gemini Man feels funny about helping the creation of the guy that shut them down.
At the race track, Mega Man finds Quick Man and Top Man racing against Turbo Man with the former telling him to butt out and he'll be next. Turbo Man then transforms into car mode and kicks in the afterburners, causing smoke to cover the track. Quick Top Man spins around to clear the smoke and Quick Man wonders where he is. Turbo Man then grabs Mega Man and smashes him into a wall. Quick Man goes ballistic and attacks Turbo Man with his Quick Boomerangs, to no avail. Turbo Man's attention is thus directed at Quick Man who tries to ram him into the wall, but Top Man uses his tops as road hazards. This gives Mega Man time to blast a Noise Crush at a wall, amplifying the sound energy and redirects it at Turbo Man, causing him to short out. Mega Man then copies Turbo Man's Scorch Wheel data. The two get into an argument and leave.
After the battle with Wily Capsule 7, Mega Man is poised to kill Dr. Wily, becoming enraged, thinking that with Wily dead for good the world will be at peace and no one will miss him, even going so far as to angrily telling him how much he hates him, but Mega Man gets shot in the chest by Bass, with Treble ripping off his Mega Buster. Bass then rips out Mega Man's eye socket and forces Light to watch as Bass beat Mega Man to a pulp, laughing manically as he proved he was stronger than Mega Man, only to be stopped by Needle Man and the robot masters Mega Man saved. Quick Man grabs Mega Man and Heat Man uses Atomic Fire to surround Bass with flame and when Bass blows away the flame, he screams. Treble then transforms to jet mode, Bass gets on, grabs Dr. Wily and escapes.
The next day Mega Man wakes up and finds Quick Man snoozing in a chair. Hours before Light had repaired Mega Man. Mega Man tried to tiptoe past Quick Man but the Robot Master tells him that he's grounded for 2 months for attempting to kill Wily, Light's orders. He also tells him he's confined to the lab until his sentence is up. Before Mega Man could tell Light off, Quick Man shows him the footage of him attempting to kill Wily and tells him to calm down as Light is both his creator and father figure and is just doing what a parent does when they do bad. Mega Man thanks him for calming him down but tells him Wily, Bass and Treble are out there. As they head to Light's laboratory, Quick Man tells him they got it covered and Mega Man finds Light along with Heat Man, Needle Man, Magnet Man, Gemini Man, Crash Man, Metal Man, and Top Man, along with the newly reformed Freeze Man, Junk Man, Burst Man, Cloud Man, Spring Man, Slash Man, Shade Man and Turbo Man.
The battle is over for now but Wily will return. Join us next time for Birth of Evil.

I have other things in mind. In terms of Mega Man, it'll probably be the Blue Shift and Red Shift issues.

Great comic dub. I am just curious but do you plan to do the comic issues for Megaman 1 or 2?
Possibly far down the line. For the time being, I'm going to focus on Silver Age and Blue Shift/Red Shift - as well as something else that I'll keep a secret for now, but I think you'll really enjoy :).
