Hi Chris have my test in a week, I drive the same as Alex and my only concern is roundabouts, just noticed Alex at junctions/stops using clutch down then brake I find this works best for me as well, however on other videos it shows braking then clutch down am I OK to do it how Alex is during this?
This is an example of how it's possible to fail literally in the last 2 mins of a driving test. Similar happened to me where I failed literally turning right back to the test centre!
It’s been 8 months since I passed my test with 1 minor and I feel SOOOOO bad for anyone who has to go through the whole process. Get the best instructor possible otherwise it’ll be a horrible experience to look back on. I literally shudder every time I see a driving school.
I passed my test in December thanks to the videos on this channel. Chris' voice is so calming so everything goes in! I had a shocking driving instructor who was only happy for my money and abandoned me for my driving test! I then found this channel and the videos especially the ones on roundabouts helped me so much! I passed with 1 minor and highly reccomend if anyone is struggling on anything driving wise to use this channel! If it can get me passed it will get anyone passed! 😊
Line up with a cars mirrors, find something at a 45 degree angle from you to your right, full lock left, reverse until that something is directly in front, straighten up, reverse back a little more, then full lock right and correct it :D
I've been learning to drive on and off for over a year now. My first instructor moved away around 7 months into my lessons and he gave me the final 1.5 hour lesson for free as a parting gift which was nice. Took me a while to find another instructor, all the bigger driving schools had a 1-2 months waiting list for my area so I had to go for someone with their own business. Fast forward a bunch of months later and after watching most of your brilliant videos which have been a massive help, I'm now ready to sit my driving test which is less than 23 hours away. Thank you for these videos.
Such a shame things went wrong for him towards the end of the mock test, i passed my test at the age of 52 ,two and a half years ago, used World driving with chris explaining everything i needed to know, i still come back here after passing my test to remind me & refresh my memory, wish anyone going through this the best of luck & dont give up !

Congratulations Alex on passing the actual test. As a qualified driver, I'm not sure if I would pass now but these videos help me to be a better driver.
6:22 "When it is safe I would like you to pull up on the right , please". Alex takes a long time to select the location. When he eventually stops a side road is opposite on the left so he runs forward to clear. This means he gets closer to a car parked ahead on the right restricting vision. He copes well with all these problems but could have avoided them by stopping at an earlier opportunity.
To get maximum advantage from a blocker, you have to start just as the blocking begins as it does not last long. If you wait until the middle of the blocking period and do a slow start you could be vulnerable. You have to have your car stopped and lined up for a straight start, if you are at an angle a fast start is not possible. Practice starting faster on empty roads.

My situation is exactly as per the title of this video so I had to click :) .I have my test on Tuesday (in 3 days) and I'm trying to cram some last minute driving lessons with my instructor after the month long English lockdown meant I had to cancel 5 lessons.

I think he knew he had messed up. To be fair Roundabouts dont get any easier unless they're quiet- every man for himself on most of the roundabouts up near me.
Alex was fantastic and it was heart-breaking yo imagine myself in his place and get a Fail for that serious fault in last few mins.. Glad that in his real test, he passed eventually !!👌👌
This mock test for 2020 was good Chris. In fact, my test was exactly the same way kind of root, although I did get told to enter a 70 duel carriageway too. The signals are quite important as a driver put me off on a roundabout once. I've I've come my hesitation quite well now after driving alone from passing my test and we'll done to Alex👍
Oooohhh pedal cam, very nice. I live in the USA and drive a 5 speed boxster as my daily. It's always fun to watch how others use the pedals. Especially from different parts of the world. I'm curious how often do you have to have the clutch replaced on those leaner cars?
These small and extra busy roundabouts are far worse than many huge multi-lane ones. When you have green they have red, so you just carry on smoothly in your lane. But if they suddenly emerge from behind some flower bed in the centre of roundabout and continue very swiftly - and you’re already there - that’s a big danger and likely cause of test’s failure. In real after-test driving life it’s manageable but during the test it can be a nightmare.
He did so well, but definitely was a couple more minors missed. A more harsh examiner would of easily done that! He would check quite far back from a junction, then turn left slowly. At about the 30 min mark you say don’t always trust other drivers indication but would that not count as a hesitation if you don’t go and they do go down the indicated road?
I passed with only 2 minors and that was with 10 hours practice all you have to do is apply yourself watch as many videos as possible it helped me loads and the test is not that bad I started a good conversation with the instructor and it flew bye
I passed it with 4 minors yesterday in my first attempt. I thought I failed during the test. Just control your nerves. Finish the test properly. Eat 3 bananas before your test.. I am not kidding. Google it. .. it controls your nerves .. Listen to some good music before the test .... Even the day of the test I made mistakes during mock test... But the examiner does give instructions fairly early, if the sat nav is confusing they will assist you..so just be calm.. these you tube videos were really helpful...

Hi! It would be a serious fault (fail) as he'd potentially be blocking other road users. Imagine continuously driving in the right-hand lane on a dual carriageway but not overtaking anyone. It would annoy drivers behind.
I got 2 minors for hesitation in the last minute of my test turning back into the centre. But rather those minors than a serious taking a gap that wasn’t right and failing!
@ 9:13 is that allowed? I was taught this is really bad for the clutch and will burn it out. He's holding the biting point for a really long time but the voiceover says it's good?
Alex was creeping forward to see past the other car. The only way to creep slowly is to use clutch control. But holding the biting point for long periods of time does increase wear on the clutch.

how much in total did you spend on lessons?
Castrated 43ish lessons are £21 each so 43x21=£903 I would have done my test earlier if I could but I took the first available one.

High Voltage get a different instructor if you don’t pass. It’s worth your mental capacity

When there is no car behind you don’t actually have to indicate when pulling away. I always do anyway but it wouldn’t be consider a minor

that Chinese garage round about can be difficult
at 18:30 a car is parked (maybe stopped because of the hazard lights) on the walkway. there is also a police car. is that allowed in the UK?
No it wasn't allowed but it might have broken down.

Hi! It would be a serious fault (fail) as he'd potentially be blocking other road users. Imagine continuously driving in the right-hand lane on a dual carriageway but not overtaking anyone. It would annoy drivers behind.

I got 2 minors for hesitation in the last minute of my test turning back into the centre. But rather those minors than a serious taking a gap that wasn’t right and failing!

@ 9:13 is that allowed? I was taught this is really bad for the clutch and will burn it out. He's holding the biting point for a really long time but the voiceover says it's good?
Alex was creeping forward to see past the other car. The only way to creep slowly is to use clutch control.
But holding the biting point for long periods of time does increase wear on the clutch.
