The piano after Poncho is lovely and compelling, thank you Madam Tally Ho can be described all kind of ways, of course. by "shining light" I could have also called her a Song. A long, song to be sure, but the Haiku version no doubt will be when you're sailing her. At this stage of completion one can imagine her lift over the first wave beneath her keel after so many years. She creaks and mutters a bit as she adjusts her great pile of living-parts, then rises gamely to meet the next one. Okay, enough of this malarky, I'm veering dangerously close to the anthropocentric. I have to say you are the most highly skilled boat builder i have seen, By marking out and restoring to a high standard as the old timers would have done, but you and your team are going one step more by building to a high finish. Well Leo i will be watching all the way to the finish carry on with the fantastic work and give my regards to Poncho.
I haven't seen all your episodes Leo but I have seen a lot and I watch them with fascinated admiration - for your persistence, your skill, your knowledge of the work, your versatility. determination and your reaction to adversity. When things go wrong you are at your best. Of course, giving up on the project is unthinkable but you need to call upon your resources of spirit and optimism sometimes and somehow you come shining through. I would have loved to be involved at some point but that's not going to happen so I shall admire from afar and follow your progress to its conclusion. You've had some great help there and the guys who have done their various bits seem to have had an absolute ball helping. Power to your elbow Leo. You carry all this off with genuine good humour and I wish you well.
You not just building a beautiful boat, you are producing a document that will be the most wonderful gift to your children and their children's children.
Never before have I been so well informed on the art of ship building (or renovation/re-building). I have always loved woodwork, but the level of craftsmanship in this ship renovation is amazing! A man, A MAN, decided to rebuild a sailing ship. Who would have know it would so inspiring and entertaining to rebuild a ship? Leo, my hat's off to you. You're crazy/brilliant, my friend. Everytime is see that beautiful lady you're restoring, I see you at the helm and steering her into a tropical sunset. Thank you for sharing this amazing journey!!!
The hull is starting to show it's lines and looks fantastic as it grows into a yacht. Everybody has been doing a great job helping the job progress. Without all the volunteers, she would not be where she is today. Good to see the ships master approves as the inspection continues.
Now the bat's outline is there again and the level of quality work can be appreciated more by people not having deep knowledge of wooden ships, it is even more obvious what a piece of quality work is being done here. Leo and team, compliments.
I am 81 and older than CaptRon and equally, want to see Leo & Ceeca headed out on a worldwide journey on the Tally Ho. The music is extraordinary not unlike your shipbuilding talents. Every new episode is another view of your amazing efforts and shipbuilding talents like there is no end to your knowledge of creative ways to accomplish all the little jobs that have to be done for one beautiful craft, and are accomplished with the very minimum of crew.
Great stuff as always ... from “I’m Leo” to the closeup of your comical parrot. Looking forward to seeing how you rig your stringers in through the stern and the casting of your floors. You bring the age of sail alive!
That parrot will surely sail the high seas with them both. "Arrrrrrrgh!, Pancho wanna rum!" Fantastic craftsmanship Leo. Always admire your attention to detail.

There is something utterly and timelessly beautiful about a traditional boat in frame, and with your workmanship and camera skills you have captured it perfectly. Well done. Only a couple of pairs of frames needing adjustment? Precision work Leo!
There's something deeply satisfying in watching the tar squeeze out of a well-made joint as you drive the screws home. I know you don't need anyone to tell you this, but you do good work, Leo.
It's really amazing seeing her with all her frames and stern in, and thinking about all of the work that went in to taking her from her original state to here. She's gorgeous even as she is, but it's exciting to know that she's not even close to being finished.

I am sure you can appreciate it when I tell you that watching your videos is somewhat like going into a time machine for me. You're most impressive, and admired by me. Hope to meet you one day. Jason
Your music taste is always so eclectic - this one particularly so. Thanks for the link! Also Pancho as ever is a star and Francesca, well - look after her she's a keeper.
Interesting logistical challenge, getting the stringers and shelves into the boat. Presume they will be one piece or at least joined before they go in? Best method = Mob handed and all in in one day or Several A frames and Blocks and Tackles and huge ingenuity. Which ever way stay safe!!
Before that, he'll have to configure the workshop to run 39ft lengths of beam & planking stock through bandsaw, planer & thicknesser ! A2A has a nice setup w/ their roller feed tables, but this is on a larger scale.
@@philipmasters7491 - I like your A-frame crane idea, nautically they are called 'sheers'. Leo might have to remove 1 or 2 frames from the bow, to stuff the bilge stringers into the boat !

Hi, Leo, praying for you at this Christmastime. Relax, come back renewed. I look frward to seeing Tally Ho on the water!
Better than coffee in the morning.👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
Leo,
Dude, I love the show, sir.
I find myself hoping you'll soon release more footage. I know you have to do the work though.
Worth the wait.
I can tell that guy is a better man haveing worked with you. And, he's been doing so well so long, I can feel the loss of his leaving.
But, so are the days of our lives.
Ah yes there is that!
@@philipmasters7491 - I like your A-frame crane idea, nautically they are called 'sheers'. Leo might have to remove 1 or 2 frames from the bow, to stuff the bilge stringers into the boat !
Oops! of course your right I’d gone back to Boy Scout days. Regressing?
That parrot, strutting around like it owns the boat.
Poncho is the Head of operations
Macaw’s are very social birds and want interaction with their owners constantly- even though Leo doesn’t own him it is clear that the bird has a strong bond with him. They love attention and are hams for the camera
She's the captain but Leo just doesn't know it yet.
the melancholy of this song fits perfectly with the solitude you have been left to
wow, as I wrote the comment Cecca appeared! I'm not sad anymore.
I've been watching every episode I just can't wait until the episode of you and a beautiful woman pulling up to a island
haha yeah me too..
"Pulling up, putting on the handbrake. ..." ROFL
Just picturing the maneuvering and mooring against even a modern wharf of a 70 foot wooden behemoth with an amatuer crew to help , gives me the weeblies.
Back from long, long lunch, just in time to couch surf and watch the progress....cheers...rr Normandy, Fra.
Kudos, not only are you a master craftsman, you are also a fabulous filmmaker. This is really interesting stuff!
Curved electric plane! Want want want! Good video
Where did you get that? I notice that you’ve been extremely fortunate to have many high quality/end tools to use for your project. Lucky man! But I’m sure you need more...
I love the shape of the boat and the fashion pieces add a lot. Master craftsmanship. Great music as well.
wanna say : You deserve the nobel price. beautiful work, commitment, Im stuned!
Leo I am absolutely in awe of your skills. So good to watch.
I see a new house being built next door. Hope they are good neighbours for you & cause no dramas. I wonder if your hosts realized what became a huge project that was going to take a lot of time. Love your work Mate. Billy J.... Queensland Australia.
I very much liked Pancho at the end and I really liked the little bit of real time between Rowan and yourself about drilling the hole in the wrong place. I wouldn’t mind seeing more of the sort of candid interactions and the little bumps and the awe dam it’s that take place. Cheka is utterly and completely adorable BTW . Just saying.
Getting chilly there? ❄️🥶 Love that timber. And the workmanship of course. Pancho’s great. 👍
I just found your series and I watched the whole thing in two days, I love it. It's almost like a children's book, you're taking on this huge task one step at a time and you have all these friends and new people coming in, and all the animals of course.
I have enjoyed watching all of the videos for this project. I am all caught up now. I am not a boat builder but I am a woodworker and enjoy wooden ships. Thank you and I am looking forward to the rest of this project.
Hey Leo, great job as usual, also Thank You for taking the time to Film and Edit the videos! I'm sure that's also a bunch of work and it has to be done as well even though it's mostly unseen. Thanks!
great video
I have said it a ton of times your attention to detail is amazing and your hand work is spot on And your patience on working with hand tools on Purple heart deserves a standing ovation great work and progress
This is EPIC!!! Wow! We live aboard our 1979 Cheoy Lee 41 preparing to sail around the world, but dang this is so much cooler
Very satisfied with the amount of work put into this video. Thank you 👍🏼
What complicated angles on these new fashion pieces which brings a different level of focus and attention to detail.
Such a pleasure to hear Wayward Jane in your videos! Thanks a lot for another great episode.
Loved the outdo. It sometimes occurs to me, that with Pancho running around that should have an eyepatch and a piglet ;). Cheers Mark.
You truly are a gifted craftsman. Thanks so much for sharing the ride.
Leo, Leo, Leo.
Here in New Zealand, these videos come out on a Sunday morning, it's part of my routine now. I get nervous without fortnightly fix. Keep up the amazing work.
Absolutely fantastic to watch you work Leo! The thought and detail that goes Into each and every piece is amazing.
