as a sikh i feel people are missing the forest for the trees, we should not reduce dharmic religions to simply identarian politics. the sikh religion is not a jatt cult, it is a universal religion that seeks to connect people with divine love of god. sikhs should not be anti hindu for gurus families were hindu them selves. Baba sri chand a hindu ascetic and son of guru nanak dev ji was the most intimate guide for the gurus and his wisdom resonates even today. we are making the mistake of mixing political grievances with the religion the same way Abrahamic religions have done and have which have resulted in chaos throughout the western and Middleastern world. sikhs, hindus, buddhists, jains we all share the same universe and references because we are dharmic ,similar to how the abrahamic religions share abraham. the dharma is the main point of unity for sikhs, buddhists, hindus, jains and we simply have different paths to gain liberation from this cycle of reincarnation. we have to respect, love and cherish each other's dharmic path because we are strong only when the DHARMA remains strong. I feel that sikhs and some hindus are falling into the abrahamic trap of fossilizing our identities and pinning each other based on religious identity which is a foreign concept in the DHARMIC religions. just as buddhism is not the same as hinduism the same way sikhism is different.. but all dharmic religions share the hindu/dharmic universe and all of us have the goal of liberation from cycle of reincarnation.

When Guru Gobind Singh ji asked for Heads to sacrifice ( he didn't really chop their heads off), No sikh came in front..those were Hindus who stood up and they were called " panj pyare " First Five khalsa.
    1 from Hastinapur ,' 1 jagannathpuri (orrisa) , 1 Dwarka, 1 Lahore ( pakistan), 1 Karnataka
Singh surname was taken from Hindu Khatriyas.
Hindu Rajputs were shashtra guru of sikh gurus.
    1. Madan singh Rathore was weapon teacher of Guru har gobind and fought against mughals for him .Sardar Mandan singh Rathore saved guru hargobind singh at the battle of rohilla and taught 'shastarvidya to Sikhs 'and militarised them.
    2. Bajjar singh Rathore was the teacher of Guru Gobind singh ji maharaj.
3.Alam singh chauhan was the teacher of sahibzadas(sons of guru gobind singh ji maharaj).
    4. Mirza raja jai singh kachwaha of jaipur was a devotee of sikh gurus. He saved guru tegh bahadur sahib ji when he was arrested first time while travelling towards bihar, bengal and assam.jai singh went against the order of Aurangzeb and relesed guru sahib.
    5. Banda singh bahadur was a minhas rajput. He became the leader of sikhs after the death of guru gobind singh ji.He captured the mughal state of sirhind and took revenge from wazir khan who killed innocent sons of gurupita gobind singh ji and also gave zamindari rights to petty peasant's in punjab.
6.Gurudwara bangla sahib actually belongs to mirza raja jai singh kachwaha of jaipur. He donoted his personal bungalow to sikh gurus.
7.The concept of keeping kirpan comes from Rajputana culture.
    8. The 1st governer of khalsa raj was a sikh rajput.
    9. Elder son from hindu family was given to Gurus to save Dharma.
    10. Mati Das, Dayal Das, Sati Das were Hindus who sacrificed their Life but didn't accept Islam just like Guru Teg Bahadur.
    11. Sardar gulab Singh Rathore was the founder of 'dallewalia misl'.
    12. Rai bular bhatti gave guru nanak 18000 acres of land...
BHAI BACHITTAR SINGH and many more....
But, Nothing can enter into radical misguided Sikhs' mind now, they are brainwashed completely with distorted history + manipulated events and radicalized with hatred against BJP and superiority complex over Hindus till their core.

And yet you do not the story of Guru Gobind Singh Jee visiting the Naina Devi Mandir: After the battle of Bhangani where Guru Ji defeated the forces of the hill rajas under the command of Raja Bhim Chand, Guru ji returned to Anandpur Sahib. Due to the threat of the hill chieftains martial preparations began in earnest - recruitment and training of Sikh solders, building of forts, collection of arms and materials.
Some devious brahmins thought of blackmailing Guru Ji by suggesting that he should go for worship of the goddess Durga in order to invoke her blessings for future battles. After hearing them patiently, Guru Ji told them that he relied for his protection only on Akal Purkh, the Great Time spirit and Primeval Energy which he also called ‘Maha Kal’, ‘Pritham Bhagauti’ and ‘Kalka-Chandika’ in his writings, but very much in line with Guru Nanak Dev ji’s method of exposing myths, rituals and hypocrisy, the Guru allowed the Pandits to conduct a ceremony on the near by hill top of Naina Devi and said if they could produce that Primeval Energy in any other visible form, then he would consider their request. Guru Ji offered to provide them with the necessary materials and also pay them the money, for which they were actually making the proposal. Their leader, Kashav Das, promised that he would reveal the goddess by reciting the ‘Chandi mantra’ one lakh times. It is recorded that Pandit Kashev Das experimented with the sacrificial fire for many days/weeks on top of the Naina Devi hill near Anandpur Sahib. Guru Ji would occasionally climb the hill to watch what was going on.
One day Guru Ji went to see the Pandit and asked him why the goddess had not appeared. Pandit Kashav replied that the time was fast approaching but what was needed was a celebatarian of high caste to be offered as a sacrifice. Guru Ji was amused by this request and promptly told the Pandit that since he had observed celibacy during this period there would be no better person then him for the sacrifice. Sensing danger he had unwittingly invited, he made his escape in the early hours of the morning. Guru Ji anticipated the result of Kashev Das’ experiment, he thought it futile to be associated with it any longer and dumped the remaining material into the fire and hastened down the hill with a glistening sword in hand and resplendent glory on his face. When in the early hours of the morning the people saw the flames going up in the sky some thought that the goddess had appeared. At this point Guru ji came forward drawing his sword which flashed in the light of the roaring flames and declared: ‘This is the real Durga, the destroyer of evil! This is the true Goddess of power today which will raise the suffering humanity from its degrading condition.’ He also called it by another name BHAGAUTI.
Guru Ji associated himself with the ceremony only for the sake of exposing the brahminical faith is such ceremonies and confirming the conviction of the Sikhs to worship the one Timeless Lord .

@@dr_IkjyotSinghKohliNow someone might have taught you this story. I never heard it that guruji did it to expose someone. May be this was additional to the worship of Godess. However, you show a superficial understanding of sanatan thought ottherwise you wouldn't have believed the story fully. As far as pakhand is concerned I am with you. However, if you go deeper into literature, the idols are a sah guna imagination of that nir guna and an expression of advaita that brahm recides in everything.

Sikhism, Buddhism come from the Sanatani Dharma - Guru Granth Saheb ji glorifies all our gods and goddesses but in ardaas or prayer the focus is on OM or Omkar which is mostly now pronounced as Onkar or Ek Onkar, and Sewa is a form of Bhakti. We find exactly the same teachings in Srimad Bhagawad Gita and the Vedanta/Upanishads. Buddha picked up the Karma theory from the Gita and the Vedanta and said that there is just one Brahman (=Om/Omkar) and our Aatman can join it only when we clear out our Karma balance. They're both essentially preaching the same thing. Hindu is what everybody born in this land identified as until the Islamic invaders called us kafirs. Later on, during the British era the Buddhists and Sikhs were separated from us.
Thank you for this wonderful talk 🙏

Gautam Buddha was a prince who turned away from his luxurious life only when he saw the real human suffering outside his palace - like old people dying of illness or starvation because they were abandoned, etc. His teachings were based on Ahimsa - people can cancel out our Karmic debts and finally get Nirvana or Moksh. He fought against Brahmins because he was taking Hindus away from the Pinda rituals for Moksh to ancestors which the poorer people could not afford. But truth is, after Buddha his followers mixed in the same rituals which he tried to remove. Nowadays whatever we see happening is purely political (internal) and corruption (external forces) trying to break Hindus, which they couldn't do for 1000 years.

Hindus are conditioned to regard Sikhism, Buddhism and Jainism as panths or sects. Says celebrated columnist Varsha Bhosle, "Hinduism is a generic name given to all the faiths which have roots in India and believe in Parmatma (God), Prarthana (prayer), Punerjanma (reincarnation), Purushartha (Karma) and Prani Daya (kindness to all living beings)." Sikhism believes in all of these.

Sikhs are Hindus only ,but assertion of separate Identity by akalis who controls gurudwaras is the main problem. They have made gurudwaras too powerful to dictate spiritual and daily life of common Sikh. Common Sikh is totally dependent on them to understand teachings of dasham gurus. Now akalis wants to use it for political power. This problem exists is Hindus also who wants some modern guru to teach them Vedas. Basically we don't want to learn and experience true knowledge with our own hard work but outsource it to third person/institutions. Once we are fully dependent on third party then he will take our advantage.
Solution is simple , every Hindus which includes sikh should learn knowledge from original source with pure bhakti, get rid of third party.

This move of Britishers was opposed by many Khatris including the then Raja of Bardhwan Province who was a Kapoor khatri..

What Guru Tegh Bahadurji did is the noblest act of sacrifice and heroism in our history. Hinduism has always been divided by caste and has no structure to come together to face a crisis. Due to this lack of organization and division a pocketful of British (20,000) were able to rule 300 million Hindus. Rajputs were unable to defend India from the muslims and British. Self defence and protection of ones country is every man and woman's duty. Relegating it to only Rajputs and Kshatriyas leaves a majority of Hindus unable to defend themselves and their country from aggression. Sikhism eliminated these flaws in Hindusim. Banda as a Hindu was meditating in the forest an act that only gives him alone peace of mind but as a Sikh he became a hero that fought against oppression for all of India. I see so many Hindus all over the country wearing Kadas. They are all Bandas awaiting awakening as Sikhs. Sikhism is the evolution and reformation of Hindusim. It unified, inspired bravery and helping those in need. I only wish Guru gobind Singhi had encouraged the entire nation to follow his wisdom and I still wish the Sikhs spread the greatness of the Gurus all across the country.

I do not undersatnd why we are trying hard to prove that sikhs were originally hindus. Should it not be left to those who practice shikhism. I undersatnd that there may be truths in a lot of stories but what matters is that sikhs have consolidated under a distinct religious identity as like any other religion.
Only issue of importance is that the teachings of sikhism is not against any other religion and is not exclusivist..and this is one of the reason that inter - religion marriage between these two communities are not frowned upon generally and is smooth..
So let hindus and sikhs be different and respect each other..

Of course , the Sikhs are part of Hindus. But it is a very lousy presentation. It is only lately some Sikhs started preaching that Sikhs are different from the Hindus. Sikh word by itself means student , it means one who never stops learning. It is a paradox some people who claim to be Sikhs think they know everything which is contrary to the philosophy of the Gurus. Another thing is the Ahamkara, people claim to be better than the other including their faith ( in this case Sikhism). It is better because it is mine. Besides Sikhism preaches to kill the Ahamkara which is core part of Hindu philosophy.

Yet another video attempting to absorb Sikhism into Hinduism by trying to show that Sikhism somehow emerges from Hinduism, it is a false narrative. Anyone can pick quotes here and there and show that Guru Granth Sahib Jee mentions the names of Hindu gods and goddesses, so what? What does SGGSJ actually say about Hindu Gods and Goddesses? For example, Guru Nanak Dev Ji himself says: "Ḏevī ḏevā pūjī▫ai bẖā▫ī ki▫ā māga▫o ki▫ā ḏėh" Bhagat Kabir Jee says "Sanak San'nd Mahesh Samana || Sekhnaag Tero Maram N Jaana". Guru Nanak Dev Ji himself criticizes Krishan Bhagwan for his company of Gopis, no Gurus ever acted this way. Bhai Nand Lal Jee says of Guru Gobind Singh Jee in Farci, "Ashar Khudsee Raam Gur Gobind Singh, UM QUDAS B-KAR GURU GOBIND SINGH
GAASHIA BARDAAR GURU GOBIND SINGH" , that the millions of Gods and Goddesses of Hinduism bow to the feet of Guru Gobind Singh. Guru Gobind Singh Jee has explicilty forbid Sikhs from practicing any form of Hinduism or sharing beliefs of Hindus in his Baanee as well: "Jaagat Jot Japay Nis Baasur, Ayk Binaa Man Naik Naa Aavai..."
So, please speak on facts. Sikhs will always defend and stand up for the rights of all people to practice their beliefs freely, as Guru Tegh Bahadur Jee did when saving the Hindus from certain extinction at the hands of Aurangzeb. Do not confuse that by making up lengthy videos and stories to show somehow that Sikhism is deeply connected to Hinduism, it is not.

Sikhi is way beyond your knowledge, if my faith disowns basic principles of Hinduism, then in no way can it be associated with Hinduism.
With due respect, even Guru Nanak sahib ji said, "Na koi Hindu na koi Musalman". Moreover, when one of the prominent mughal ruler asked Guru Gobind Singh ji 'which faith is good? Your or ours?' then guru sahib beautifully replied, "Tumko tumhara khoob, humko humara khoob" which means, to you yours is good and to us ours is good. So, instead of hurting someone's sentiments kindly read your holy books and vedas and be a better hindu!
