In this World of Warcraft MMO video guide I explain how I use my keybinds on my Discipline Dwarf Priest, I don't show exactly every bind that I use but you get the point on how to use them.
Very useful in arena and PvP, but you can take advange of it too in pve Raids.

Nice video! Two tips I'd add is that with the program 'KeyTweak' you can change the function of your Caps Lock key to CTRL, or some other key instead. That way you can freely use Caps Lock as a keybind without constantly toggling on your Caps Lock. I'd also recommend getting a 75% keyboard. They're keyboards without the numpad but with the F1 to F12 keys -directly- above the number keys which makes them more viable to use for keybinds.
Alongside the keyboard tip a third tip would be to change your movement keys to QWE so you can better use the F1 to F5 keys for binds, as well as to swap your Caps Lock and LCTRL with each other so that the CTRL modifier (that is now on your Caps Lock) is in the same relative position to your ring finger as Shift is when moving with WASD (ultimately less strain on your hand).
One more bonus with the QWE movement layout, aside from being able to use the F1 to F5 keys for keybinds, is that due to your hand moving up one row the Alt modifier becomes slightly easier to use. The hand moving up a row also lets you use the bottom row of letter keys (ZXCVB) with your thumb which lets you more comfortably use multiple abilities at the same time due to sharing the load of pressing buttons between your thumb and your other fingers. The latter tip isn't for everyone but it is something to consider.

Thanks for the big info ! The F keys right over the numbers would be a huge improvement for me

    Super valuable content.
Back when Classic was announced, I told my friends to already work their keybinds out beforehand. Some didn't, and they had noticeable disadvantages in literally everything. They were slower at leveling, died more, performed poorly in dungeons and got ganked way more often.
They only started sorting their binds out when raids became relevant, and even then it took a while for them to unlearn their bad habits. Some may have had mana pots bound to a hotkey, but they still clicked them out of habit, because that's what they did while they were leveling up; on the other hand, those of us who made our keybinds early on had learned good habits while leveling up, and our performance in PVE/PVP was not hindered.
The others caught up over time, though, but their handicap was borne out of their own laziness to figure out a good set of binds.

As a seasoned WoW player I still found this extremely informative and well done, thanks man!

ESDF will open you up to more key binds (WQAZ instead of just Q on the left)

Depends on if you're already using the button to the left of 1 (`), Tab, Caps Lock for keybinds as well as if you're still able to comfortably use the modifier keys with the ESDF layout. It's no use sacrificing the usability of the modifier keys as well as Caps Lock/Tab for just 4 more standard buttons.

Great content. I wish more would watch. I was recommended by a gladiator when I was shit to watch videos. I listen to everything they said and ended up running Gladiator with them back a decade ago! For real, if you are not yet a gladiator please please please listen to this type of content. Watch arena matches. Duel a ton. Skirmishes a ton. It will improve your game play drastically!! I promise you! 😊😊

I never thought of keybinding shift + something else or capslock. I nomrally keybind E for self heal and Q for spell interupt across all my chars. It gets confusing when you use multiple characters so you need to try to make sure the keybinds are similar across the board. For example all my neigh fae chars us Z for the transform, Shaman Z for ghost whole and mage Z for blinking.

It's good to use similar binds for similiar abilities for sure.

    hahahaha that fkn keyboard.
I've always stayed true to Logitech's 10$ keyboards! They are superior!
Mine is a bit cleaner than yours, though. And I often remove the left Win key x)

I got the G600 and I really really tried to get used to it, but the damn thing is so huge and unweildy. I don't know if y'all got hulk hands or something but I just can't claw grip the mouse. It's a tender palm grip at best.
Any other alternatives that doesn't involve a new mouse?

    • @Exehn
      @Exehn  2 ปีที่แล้ว

There are many mice that only have a couple of extra buttons, you can just try a different one and place the targeting binds on those buttons

I think that might be because Logitech created that third button on the top (the recessed one, to the right of the right button).
The thing I did literally after 30 min of unpacking the mouse, is I put some chewing gum (lol didn't have anything better at the moment) under that stupid button so it became completely static. Instantly I was able to claw grip the mouse as I'm used to.
BTW my hand is pretty small but with that "mod" applied I consider G600 to be quite comfortable to handle.

If your mouse has a tiltable scroll wheel you can use that and middle click for party targets, left and right for party members and middle click for self is what I use

I recommend using a mouse with 2-4 buttons max. You can bind those buttons as your modifiers so you do not have to stretch you fingers crazy! 😊
