i love how you can hear people singing
I am a 25 year old man and I STILL get a lump in my throat ....
WVU band IS the pride of the Mountaineers!!! We have a top rate band as well as top rate athletics! Every time the band comes ROARING out of the tunnel onto Mountaineer Field, I get goosebumps and tears in my eyes!!!
I love how even over the music and the roar of the crowds, you can still hear people singing along.
Greatest night of my life. Was sitting in the end zone. First bowl game after both my parents had passed. My first bowl ever was with them at the Sugar Bowl vs. Florida. And Atlanta had become like a second home so the game being moved there because of Katrina made it extra meaningful.
As a mountaineer myself it always brings me to tears
born and bred in WV. Wyoming Co and damn proud of it. Live in GA now.....I was so proud of this song when they played this.....and when WVU "surprised" the DAWGS w/ their talent.
I'm a WVU grad living in London, England...although I'm from NJ, and I haven't been back to Morgantown in over 10 years, this made me really miss WVU!
I was there. It is impossible to describe how electric that crowd was that night.
This was always my favorite song in the lineup for pregame from the fanfare to the expanding circles especially. It still gives me goosebumps when I remember how the crowd would roar and how it sounded down on the field. Made me feel so proud!
nothing but goosebumps
I LOVE our band and team FRAUDriguez is a TRAITOR lets go mountaineers!!!!!!!
As hard as it may be for a "Marshall Grad." to admit this, hearing WVU's band perform "Coutnry Roads" will make any real West Virginian tear up every time!
every time i listen to this i get goosebumps lol
I go to uconn and am a diehard uconn football and basketball fan. but everytime i watch this video it gives me chills to hear your fans singing along to the song. thats fan support at its finest.
hope im a part of that band one day!
GO MOUNTAINEERS!
Man, I'm born and raised in E. Tennessee and a huge Vols fan but I got to admit this video still gives me chills. Its cool to see fans singing as their band plays.
Listen to that crowd. Its just...wow...
Country roads take me home, to the place I belong!
I get the same chills when the PRIDE OF WVA takes the field, as when the players hit the field !!!!!
cool I'm in drum corps Florida Brass and I also have loved john denver 30 years so this was so cool to see
Very nice! Wish I could've been there. I was in that band in college! It's one of the best! Go 'Eers!
i consider wv to be one of my many homes. i went to school in wv for two years. and have many friends there.
i'm in love with WVU!!! WHOO!
@lwvmobile This answer may be about 3 years too late, but....
I was in this band (long before this performance) and we used to end each year with an indoor concert. The concert was routinely recorded and copies sold in the WVU Bookstore. They probably still do this, and you can likely check online. Of course this song (and a few others) is a tradition at WVU and would be recorded each year.
Oh, you know Jay has got that video on his top shelf..... besides, he is the one that got to play the solo ;)
Woah, dats amazin!!!
sweet, we love our Alumni :-)
this is great Sue Bonnette
Michigan fan here,
You guys will be fine as a program, you are going in the right direction and Michigan needed RR to revive our offense. I do agree with you guys that it was not right what he did to you about how he left.
Btw, you have a great gameday atmosphere. I was at the 07 louisville game and had a great time!
this is awesome. :]
i get chills at 1:31
If this doesnt give you goosebumps being an eer fan........nothin will.
at the end we were alot louder than those ga. fans
even as a marshall student i like seeing the band do the state outline
I'm so proad of my sister... she is in that....YAY WVU Marching band!!!
fanstatic!
sweet!!
Wow!!!!
A I can say is, "Wow, West Virginia~
got 2 c this band perform my sister goes 2 tht college n im goin 2 also
I like Georgia too - and I really hope they win every game - EXCEPT the last one - against Georgia Tech!!
I think the glory days are behind Tech - 4th National Championship in 1990 - and that trophy they give out every year - the Heisman - yeah - he was a Tech boy too!! And there have been only 2 Shuttle flights without a Tech boy on board - and they both crashed!!!!!!!!!
When teams from Virginia play teams from Georgia - I go fishing!! I will always be a Staunton Boy living in Atlanta!!!
Proud*
NCAA 25 🫡
thank you for saying that. Us, West Virginians, are very proud of the state of WV. There is more to us than couch burners. lol Probably PA ppl doing that anyway.
I love it when they make the outline of the state WOOOHOOO! GO WV! WV is an enigma! The media thinks they can make us a "hillbilly state". We are just smarter than most!
I have another one on my channel, but this is probably about as good it is going to get on TH-cam
@WVUsax27 i remeber hearing about it on the 12th
Yet another reason why Coach RR decided to stay at WVU!! Sorry Bama but RR is a born and bred Mountaineeeeeeeer!
Anybody know of a real high quality performance of this song by the WVU band?
I don't have one
oh that is funny. Good luck to GT when playing (puke) the Dawgs......and good luck this season except when GT plays VT. I promise, I believe you about the map, friend.
I get reared up every time
EARRAPE
I believe the accident happened that morning.
@mysteryscience3000 Wrong. It's BETTER than the script Ohio. Mostly because WVU fans aren't *expletive deleted*s and their band is no more arrogant than any other high-quality band.
