When you said #justiceforwhat I felt that, this era is so unappreciated the mini album "Alone in the city" is top tier and underrated.
what’s whole message is about depression and feeling isolated; hence “alone in the city”, it’s lyricism and music video is honestly amazing. It explores how depression can affect people in different ways and also manifest in many different forms. it’s an underrated gem in dreamcatchers discography.
edit: the most clear depictions of this being yoohyeon being bound to the bed in her scenes, showing the feelings of hopelessness and the struggles of getting out of bed.
to this point my fave part is Handong looking so terribly alone in that closet, which I believe it represents being closeted and no one could ever tell me otherwise.

'What' is one of the best title tracks, everything in this era was perfect (styling, the whole album, MV, choreo, etc) but it's feels like it doesn't recieve the recognition it deserves :/ #JusticeForWHAT
Alone in the City is still to date my favourite DC release, it truly shows the group's versatility and diversity - as well as having my all-time favourite DC track in Trap.
This era was also peak styling/aesthetic even though it often flies under the radar. #justiceforwhat

"What" is still in my top 3 favorite title tracks. It's heavy for a Korean release and I love the syncopation. Story-wise this is the first time they wear non-uniform outfits, which I believe is because they lost Yoohyeon (or at least her spirit) and are kind of broken. You can also see them search for her alone, not as a group. For me this is a song about the loss of a loved one and what that does to a group or family. I might be reaching, but this is the meaning for me.
'What' without fail gives me chills every. single. time. It is musically what I consider a perfect song in every way, amazing build up amazing release, insane vocals, video has great visuals, no not as fancy but suuuuper effective and yes the members visuals too are all some of my favourites. I feel like it's still their best title track and still my favourite song from them period and just makes me feeelllll things, I wish they'd release more sounds like this, absolutely criminally underrated.

The song is so underappreciated, it gets the praise that it deserves when it comes on, but it's the "forgotten" title track. Even the members didn't recognize it on the recent Weekly Idol episode.
5:00 JiU is known for having sheer and see-through clothing. You really should take a stream and watch their early dorm tour (it's the source of the black and red orb costume).
you should definitely start watching the dance practices after the MVs so that you can get a better feel for the choreo. It would probably make the videos 15+ minutes, but def worth watching, especially Good Night, What, and Piri

when you listen to chase me, good night, fly high, you and i and what in the sequence, you'll notice what is very different of the music style they had until that point, and i think it took people off. What was ahead of its time and the fandom wasnt ready. And i include myself in this. I like what today a lot more than i liked when it came out. The choreo is a little bit easier than their previous ones, but they do it in heels, so... not that easy after all.

I think of all the mini albums in the nightmare storyline Alone in the City is my favorite. While I love all Dreamcatcher title tracks and b-sides, some of my favorites that I listen to on repeat is on this mini album.
Also one of my fave title tracks. One of my gotos for doing my burpees for gym warm-ups

The problem when picking LEAST favourite title song from dreamcatcher is that there isn't a single bad song, so the least favourite song whichever it is for anyone it's almost always 9/10, their discography is just that good.
P.S. My least favourite would be Fly High, however the album is amazing, wake up is one of the biggest hype energy booster songs from them, also Trust me MV is soooo beautiful.

Definitely one of the MVs that contributed to Siyeon being my initially bias when I got into them.

Also idk how closely you're following the Nightmare storyline, but this takes place after they failed to save Yoohyeon from the dream realm in You & I. As you can see, a lot of time has passed and they're in the modern world now but still can't save her, and she's been reaching out to them in their dreams.

"What" is the Dreamcatcher of Dreamcatcher songs in that it is so underrated and slept on. It's not only one of their best rock songs, but for people who specifically enjoy drum focused rock music it's the best Dreamcatcher has to offer by a country mile. #justiceforwhat

Everybody loves Handong's orange hair. Everybody except Handong.
This is my third favorite of the Nightmare series songs after Piri and You and I based on my personal preference. Despite that, it still deserves more love.. Currently, What sits at 8th in my ranking of all their title tracks.. again based on my preferences. This is the era I believe Siyeon officially found that wolf in her. Dong’s orange hair is iconic. For the sorry, I gathered that Yoohyeon is trying to communicate with the rest of the members as she is stuck in the other realm. JiU is the member that seems to be able to see Yoohyeon.

Why is "What" underrated? Only because their next 3 songs were Piri, Deja Vu, and Scream. Not apologising for raising expectations for those songs, those expectations will be met.

This song/ album produce by different producer team (Kim Hee Won, Tasco & WeTheBest)..probably during the making of this album, Leez is still working with another team called EDENARY to produce songs for ATEEZ..that's why it give a different vibe from DreamCatcher...underrated title track, but still a good one...

Yeah, What has a tough job in the nightmare series, following You and I.
It has a number of changes as in the story it represents an empty desolate dreamscape. So contrasting the sets with a myriad of props, this doesn't feel like places where people actually live. The mini album is called Alone in the City. I think the individual outfits instead of group ones is also deliberate. For my taste most of the video is a bit too zoomed out to really appreciate all the outfits, great you noticed them. But again that fits the theme of the MV so well. Also the repeating of What so much is powerful, but doesn't entice to repeat the song again and again. Some songs manage to give that feeling it's just too short, and you need more.
So for me a solid song, but You and I remains my favourite. The song is much nicer if you know the intention. The same is true for Piri, which has an even stronger sense it's a dream world...

Jiu waking up on the floor at the end of the MV is exactly the same as the one that saw at the beginning. So probably they are trapped in a dream where the time repets itself, like a loop. None of them have contact with each other, all of them are on their own trying to search for each other.
Jiu is trying to save yoohyeon because of what happend in "you and I" but she is not able to.
Also because of the clothes and the book (they dropped it in good night). Some flowers have flowered in the book where they left it.
They are now in a modern era, not the one that they belong to, so probably they have been trapped for years.
And that's it, sorry I wanted to share a theory of the MV. My apologies if i made a mistake english is not my first language 😊.

This was my first comeback as an Insomnia after meeting them with You and I, and OH DEAR was I obssessed with this MV and this mini-album (Trap is maybe my fav Dreamcatcher song?), if I remember correctly, my first reaction was close to yours, I just blasted this song so inhumanely loud and was completely charmed by their looks and outfits, it makes me sad that they don't even sing What anymore during their concerts, nowadays they even mention their Minx songs more than What, which is devastating, from the most underrated group, their most underrated song (title track MV with least views) is truly a hidden gem many people forget, and most will never know
