39 seconds in and he's shocked, and pausing the video - I love it! And a minute and 39 in and he's a K-pop fan.
Dude, you're about to fall down the rabbit hole and never come out. I discovered Dreamcatcher a few months back and that was it for me! I'm not even a kpop 'fan' but this groups is special.
I LOVED THIS... So excited!!!
Just a heads up, they will be releasing a MV to the song 'Odd Eye' on the 26th along side their new mini album!
Also keep smashing those reaction bro! 😂
I am now a kpop fan. This group...wow
@@lilithdvs13 Honestly, you have to move past the big names to get to the best of what K-Pop has to offer. If you're interested, checking out groups like Loona, ATEEZ, Pentagon, DAY6, The Rose, Victon, and ONEUS would be good. They make a lot of their own music and choreo and also have great personalities!
@@lilithdvs13 They've gotten better and continue to do so though. While I agree that it has problems, that shouldn't take away from the idols who work hard on their music.
"I´m a kpop fan".....Yeahh... I don´t think so, you are Dreamcatcher fan now. As many have told now, DC is not the "Kpop standard" they are unique in the industry, a few other groups have tried to do some "rock stuff" but no one goes hard like this ladies, and those groups eventually turn to more pop/edm because the industry dont like rock/metal. But Dreamcatcher keeps fighting and dont surrender to the standards.
Good reaction, waiting for more
> those groups eventually turn to more pop/edm because the industry dont like rock/metal.
this is literally exactly what dreamcatcher did? boca is not rock. boca is moombahton, primarily, with a single riff chorus. listen to the odd eye instrumental. heavy edm influence lol.
@@pixiel1xie so you only listen to title tracks? Check Sahara, Tension, Break the wall. Maybe Japanese songs? Endless night, No more.
They like to mix things in their titles, it gets boring to do always the same. That's the difference with others groups who drops completely the rock, Dreamcatcher keeps mixing a little of pop here, a little of edm there, some mombathom, yet they keep rock elements on all theirs songs. Even more, if they "surrender" to the industry like you like to think(by your comment of course) why they didn't repeat the same formula of BOCA? Their most successful song until Odd eye came out.
Hope you are having a nice day Felix, and if you want stream Odd eye, we need more views, the girls still are not that "popular"
@@cloudsterling3095 I have listened to every single song and supported Dreamcatcher since What era up to today, lol. It's clear you aren't willing to engage with me considering how defensive you got the instant someone applied the same standard you're putting on other groups onto DC. Boca was simply a continuation of the increase in success that Scream saw, aka the one song where they finally gave up on sticking to the primary genre of rock/metal, because it's clear people don't like that. It was only once they switched to rock influences only that they picked up in popularity. Title tracks are literally meant to represent a group. It is through those songs that groups build an image, as shown by the fact that nobody listens to b-sides except people who are already fans, or becoming ones. I have continued to support Dreamcatcher, but that doesn't mean I won't notice the way they've shifted towards a mainstream sound lol.
@@pixiel1xie they didn't full drop the rock sound, they just mixed it, for more metal
ock listeners it may sound that they are not using rock or is just a little, but for the general audience of Korea is still a lot of rock. That's what I mean when I say that others groups dropped the rock elements.
They went for a more mainstream sound? Maybe yes, yet the industry keeps sleeping on them because they are to different from the standards, and they will never like groups like Twice, Blackpink or Red velvet (great groups but standard industry 100%)
Pd: I always wonder why when someone wishes a good day or something like, people don't replied back. There are no more good manners in the world? Or is just the internet?
@@lilithdvs13 moombahton is far less obscure than rock, what? Latin influenced kpop has been very popular.
*Who* is making generic edm? EDM is a massive umbrella label and people who group “”noisy”” kpop all under the same “edm” are frankly just ignorant. Stray Kids’ Miroh is not at all the same as their Side Effects or Loona’s So What, all “noisy” or “edm” kpop.
This man is about to go down the rabbit hole of Dreamcatcher songs lol

Really? That's awesome thanks for the info.
Also Pontus Norgren of Hammerfall also helped in No More ;)
Also guitaris from Hammerfall work on that too
Also, Coldrain's drummer was in Endless Night. Idk if you're aware of Coldrain but they're pretty huge too)
"I'm gonna listen to this on repeat all day" is basically the same way I reacted when a friend introduced me to dreamcatcher a few months back
lol yeah, Dreamcatcher is very much a unique experience, pretty far outside the realm of the 'norm' of K-pop. (Which is actually the point.) K-pop isn't really a genre so much as an industry. You've got hip hop, r&b, indie, rock, pop, trap, house, etc all competing for a place within what everyone sees as K-pop. The hard reality, just like the Western music market, is that groups fail. Some singers never get a chance. And that is enormously true of K-pop. So many groups over the past year have disbanded, some because they've reached the end of their contracts, some because their company is tiny and they couldn't make money within a pandemic economy, but some just because they couldn't stand out from the crowd. SNSD/Girl's Generation, Twice and Gfriend basically have a lock down on the innocent and going into mature pop music. You can't get anywhere with that unless you basically get very very *very* lucky. The bubblegum pop is sort of a catch-all for new girl groups (and for good reason since many of the idols are minors) but it's hard to get traction with that sort of sound and concept.
Dreamcatcher is unique because they're doing what everyone else *isn't.* It's not a 'they're better' or the way overused and unneeded 'not like other girls' tropes, they specifically chose to use rock and metal as their core influences and sound so they could stand out from the crowd. (5/7 members were in a previous group called Minx that was disbanded and they all redebuted as Dreamcatcher with the addition of 2 other members. Minx was in that 'innocent/cute' style of music and they couldn't get any attention.) So you're not going to hear this kind of sound in any other idol group. Some bands (Day6, Onewe, Rolling Quartz) do use rock music, but they're more actual *bands* and don't have choreography to go with their songs.
Like everyone's mentioned, Odd Eye is dropping on the 26th at 6pm KST (so adjust for time accordingly. For me at -10 GMT, it's 11 pm on the 25th.) - I'm so digging your praise of the producers. Leez & Ollounder are absolute *beasts* and are definitely rising stars in the industry. They've worked with the girls for 4 years now, so they know their strengths and weaknesses and how best to amplify things.
Anyway that's my super long-winded way of saying 'don't expect to hear this kind of sound elsewhere with other groups' and welcome to the Insomnia black hole, we're happy to have you here! (If you need help with recs or who is who or what's going on in the storyline - because Dreamcatcher has a whole universe that they're telling a story from in the MVs - don't hesitate to ask! We love helping others get to know these seven wonderful crackheads)
Wow, thank you so much for all the info. I really appreciate it.
2 1/2 years later, I can point to this reaction as being the moment when I became a Dreamcatcher fan. "K-pop?" I thought. "Pft." And then I was gobsmacked. Their latest mini-album came out a couple of weeks ago, and I have been listening to them pretty much nonstop since. Had to come back and give a shout out to where it all began. Cheers!
I‘m full into Metalcore but since last Year, Dreamcatcher hits me in another way😍
From one metalhead to another: Welcome to the Dreamworld! I can promise you, you will enjoy every other Dreamcatcher song as well! This group (and their producers and song writers) are absolutely fantastic! But don't think all Kpop is like this, Dreamcatcher are very special and the only group I enjoy.
Yep, you missed a couple of things, but that's okay, so much is happening. From the top of my head: Dami (the second girl rapping) actually raps in triplets. And the delayed tom run before the last chorus. As I said, there is a LOT going on. 😊
Thanks for the info man. I appreciate it.
I really didn’t want to like this.... but I did.. and now I have to question everything... 😂😂😂
What a way to start k-pop, with one of the most unique groups, Dreamcatcher are well-known to use the rock sound into their music and because of that they are not a really big group in Korea until these days that they are having a lot of well deserved recognition. So thank you for reacting them and I hope you enjoyed them (sorry if I wrote something incorrectly I'm still learning English)
Your english is really good ^^
@@paulinapinorivera3539 Thank you, I'm doing my best :D.
Dude, just in time for the comeback!, what a great time to get into DC!
LET'S GOOOOO!!!!
This group has a flawless discography and nearly every sigle song is a bop. Huge credit to their producers Leez and Ollounder, they also work with Ateez. Deamcatcher unfortunately initially got a lot of flak for being a rock influenced group in an otherwise softer industry and have struggled a lot in general for it. They are still somewhat underrated bt last year was huge for them and it looks like this year might be too. Would love to see you react to their other tracks, their title tracks have a rock influence but they are very versatile, talented and humble girls.
On a non group related note, I loved your reaction. Like I repeated parts of it because your knowledge of music is incredible and it was so interesting. Subscribed!
They got flak for using some rock elements? Explain that one to me, it furthers my view that the world of K-pop has quite a few toxic elements about it.
@@kalmonsalmon1946 well.. somewhere in the 90's or 2000's a rock group was performing live and all of them got naked while on stage.
Korea is a conservative country so ever since then, from my understanding, the general public doesn't like it bc of that reason alone.
they view all rock in a bad light
@@ELmayberry Korea has plenty of rock bands outside of the mainstream tho. And sure, it's a conservative country, but so is Japan and when it comes to acts of extreme extravegance they got all other countries beat. I'm not convinced that because of a single concert-got-out-of-hand situation everything rock is suddenly badly looked upon, it sounds irrational.
@@kalmonsalmon1946
In general Idols are looked down at more than their other celebrities. so there's no telling what other reasons that most Koreans give its rock groups so much flak 🤷♂️
I'm just passing along some info on the main reason why Rock in looked down at in Korea. like I said there could be more reasons
@@kalmonsalmon1946 oh no, rock isn't unheard of in Korea, one of my favorite rock bands is korean but it's very...sort of niche compared to kpop. Since DC is a mainstream kpop group that uses heavy rock influence they struggled a lot because they had a very small following in Korea and that meant they had a hard time as a group. The majority of the people didn't prefer it, they couldn't get their sales up, they got recognition internationally first and only started getting really recognized around FlyHigh when they started adding more pop and edm to their rock sound. Like the girls literally had to participate in a competition for trainees when they had already debuted to get some recognition in korea and ditched it for an international tour. Siyeon recently mentioned in an interview that their group is constantly told that they should change their genre because they'll get recognized more but the girls seem to love their music. I don't know how much the rock group taking their clothes off affected anything but I do know that kpop has dudes pulling their shirts off all the time but the moment a girl idol does something "sexy" she faces severe backlash, like with Hyuna and her songs. Korea, particularly knetizens are surprisingly harsh on girl groups in general and a rough sound at that particular time was unique. So while they had a small but strong fandom being different led to a lot of industry related problems. The kpop industry thrives on pushing conventions and suppressing unconventional artists in general. So yea they got a lot of flak for being unconventional.
Oooohh, I never expected we'd get a Deukae reaction! I'm so excited, Piri is a great introduction to their music!
I can't wait for you all to see this one.
I am so happy that you became our family as a Korean Insomnia.
I'm so grateful to be here.
dude you're gonna love their songs Scream and Boca, trust me
I got some news for you Chase, their label in Japan was Ponycanyon, yes, same as Band Maid, and I always stupidly hoping they'll do some kind of collaboration.
Leez and Ollunder. Their producers for most songs, such a good team.
I have always been hesitant to get into K-Pop, but having seen a number of reactors that I know like some of the same music I do get into it, and seeing this on your channel, I was like "Today's the day I check out K-Pop."
And damn, this song caught me off guard with how much I enjoyed it. I will be listening to this song more and probably checking out more from this group. Best surprise of this week of reactions for me so far.
They’ll be coming back on January 26th with Odd Eye! From the teasers, it seems like it’s gonna go hard. Regarding other kpop groups, I think it’s best to do some exploring on your own. Since this music industry is so widely varied, you’ll run into songs that don’t lay within your preferred genre and those that do.
I think you’ll like Pray by FTIsland and Blaze by Rolling Quartz. They’re two of the several Korean rock bands. These two songs go hard, but keep in mind most mainstream Korean rock bands lean more towards pop rock and soft rock because hard rock and metal is an unpopular genre in South Korea.
@@nerasomnia I actually ran across Blaze by Rolling Quartz last week and have really enjoyed it. Thanks for the reply.

Honestly kinda reminds me of BABYMETAL? I think they're the first rock/metal-influenced K-pop group. Not much of a K-pop fan in general, but this one's quite the banger!
JiU, the leader of Dreamcatcher, is a big Babymetal fan.
Another legendary K-pop girl group, Gfriend, has had a lot of rock, J-rock and classical kinda stuff in their music as well. I recommend listening to Gfriend "Time for the moon Night", "Crossroads", "Fingertip" and "Eye of the Storm".
Nono, G-Friend is not an absolutely basic on rock/metal but they have also influenced by rock/metal little bit and have awesome guitar solos dreamcatcher haven't
Babymetal is actually J-Pop/J-Rock
I expected to hate this (at least the audio part). I do not.
You win this round, k-pop...
That was unexpected, didnt know this band b4 And without further ado it just slides silently in my spotify playlist
This is my favorite thing: reactors reacting to Dreamcatcher for the first time which happens to be their first time experiencing kpop and happens to get into them right before they release their newest song next week. 😆 Bonus points for having a vast knowledge of music, I love hearing reactors break down and analyze the songs, I always learn something new.
Top tier huh? Of course as fans we already knew but it’s great hearing it from someone listening to it for the first time. Just know that Dreamcatcher’s entire sound and concept is NOT typical in kpop, they are criminally underrated. So you have stumbled upon a gem.
For the next reaction you should definitely get through the Dystopia series with “Scream” and “Boca” before their newest song “Odd Eye” the last song of the trilogy.
Thanks for your reaction!
This reaction is kinda iconic now, you know
Aaah yess, I'm excited about this one! Dreamcatcher is one of my favourite groups, and they'll even have a comeback soon! Their sound is definitely unique compared to a lot of other kpop groups, and I'm glad they are sticking with their rock-sound even though they aren't that popular in Korea.
Legitimately amped for you all to see this one.
@@ChaseCarneson Yes I can't wait!! I've been listening almost exclusively to metal all my life, until I stumbled across a kpop song in someone's stream like 4 years ago. Since that day I discovered tons of amazing groups, saw great performances and have been to a bunch of concerts. No regrets 8)

Thank you friend. I'm going to be doing much more form this group
As someone who was a metalhead, and used to listen to nothing but rock and metal (and occasionally jrock), I never though I would EVER like kpop. But then Dreamcatcher happened. Now I'm obsessed with Dreamcatcher and my mind was opened to a variety of kpop. You absolutely MUST listen to their Japanese songs, they're way heavier. Don't Light My Fire is a new one but it is incredible. Let's just say it reminds me and lots of others of a very popular symphonic metal band 😁
You need to check out Rolling Quartz.
Dreamcatcher is one of a kind in kpop. I explored the genre a lot the past year and love it just as much as the hard rock and metal i have listened to most of my life. The have a deep and very diverse discography for a group that has only been together 4 years. There is a lot of cool things you can check out by them. I recommend scream for the next song but also on January 26th they will release their new music video and mini album.

This will be so different to everything you done sofar ....
YUP YUP YUP!!!
Dreamcatcher is one of the girl groups that is known for having some rock/metal influence in some of their songs so this was a great choice!
Can't wait to do more
Well, this is quite the introduction to K-Pop on the channel. Be reassured to know that they and their producers have kept their Rock element persistent since the beginning of Dreamcatcher, regardless of what other genre they have infused it with in the current Dystopia series. Dreamcatcher & co. have unapologetically embraced it as the core of their highly distinct sound, whilst others may have used Rock devices as more of a novel concept. It's something that isn't received very well in this industry, which makes it a whole lot more admirable. They were initially underrated as a result and are still overlooked by the giants in Korean entertainment, but they are seriously one of the most important groups to revolutionise K-Pop as a whole.
Their extensive versatility is also well known in the fandom, which quite frankly spans more than possibly any K-Pop artist or group to have existed. From the duality of moments of calm and energy in their title tracks, their incredible dancing skills, to the wide spectrum of genres they cover across their discography. I'm sure you'll find plenty to talk about as you explore their work.
Welcome to InSomnia, we hope you enjoy your stay. :))

As a new Insomnia, I can say I had the same reaction on my channel when I first heard a song from them.
More this week 😉
Man you HAVE to react to DEJA VU of dreamcatcher too hits in another level trust me
thanks for the reaction
Deja Vu was the song that made me fall in love with Dreamcatcher!! I LOVE THAT SONG 😍
Wonderful musical breakdown of Piri. Welcome to the world of Dreamcatcher. They are Kpop, but not quite like anybody else. If you want to see their pure Kpop roots, check our their cover of Girls Generation "Into the New World." Also, Dami the rapper is quite clear that Girls Generation is her favorite group (even though they have close to no rap, or it is very bad when they try).
🙏🙏🙏
Also, if you want to see even more of their K-pop roots, before they were a 7-member group named Dreamcatcher, they were a 5-member group named Minx. Minx did not get much traction, so Happyface Entertainment decided to add two new members and re-debut them with a completely different style and concept and a new name.
Dreamcatcher are more K-Pop-Rock, than anything. They use some K-Pop conventions, like pop vocals and rap sections, but they are really unique in that industry. In fact, they are not as popular as they should in the Korean market, because of this. Their success and the biggest part of their fandom, InSomnia, is international based.
Another interesting fact is that Piri was initially the last part of a multipart horror/occult storyline, called the Nightmare series (or the Curse of the Spider Queen series) spanning across 6-7 multiple albums, singles, languages and songs. It doesn't have a happy ending, as they are lost in the nightmares.
So Dreamcatcher later fixed that when they made Breaking Out in their 1st Japanese Studio Album called "The Beginning of the End", and they ended the series on a more positive note.
This was a surprise. I mostly listen to rock/metal and Dreamcatcher has been a guilty pleasure of mine for a while now. :P
Dreamcatcher is just so unique with their music and can do so many types of genres, and their vocals are just so good. Definitely worth checking out all of their songs
I promise you there will be much more to come. Will film more next week

I was just thinking that it would be amazing to see you react to Dreamcatcher during your music exploration week! Being K-pop, albeit blended with Rock and Metal elements, they would be something quite different for a channel like yours that normally focuses on analyzing the musical performance of rock/metal bands. I'm writing this before the video premiers so I haven't seen your reaction yet but I'd be interested to hear your thoughts on the dance and vocal performance, which are hallmarks of the k-pop genre, even if you're not as well-versed on those aspects in addition to your usual insights into the music composition and production side of things :)

I've been subscribed to your channel since your reaction to Band-Maid - Thrill and I've thoroughly enjoyed watching your journey with them so I really hope to see you start one with Dreamcatcher!
Dreamcatcher do have a several "story lines" with their music, of which PIRI was actually the end to their Nightmare series. Here's a list of the main tracks and what story lines they fall under:
Nightmare series:
Chase Me (their debut single from 2017)
GOOD NIGHT
Fly High
YOU AND I
What
PIRI
Japanese tracks:
Breaking Out (unofficially an alternate end to Nightmare series)
Endless Night
No More
Dystopia series:
Scream
BOCA
Odd Eye (to be released on the 26th of Jan!)
They also have a bunch of non-story line related and B-sides. Here's just some of the ones I would recommend (that also have TH-cam videos):
Deja Vu
Break The Wall
SAHARA
Black Or White
Mayday
Jazz Bar
Red Sun
R.o.S.E BLUE
Sleep-walking
And there was no one left
There's a nice mix of genres but I'll leave it for you to find out which is which ;) I hope you get around to reacting to most of these at some point!
Wow, thank you for this lovely message, I really appreciate it. Definitely going to be doing much more. I can't wait for you guys to see this one.

Next up you should start on the Dystopia series with 'Scream' and 'BOCA' as I listed above if you want to hear Dreamcatcher's most recent sound leading into their upcoming release of 'Odd Eye'. It's also worthwhile going back to 'Chase Me' and working your way down to see how they were when they started. Check out their Japanese tracks to see them lean more into a metal sound and I don't think you'll be disappointed with the variety of genres spread across their other B-sides ;)
Once again, "welcome to the dream world" our newest InSomnia!
Aight Chase, this is getting disturbing, I'm a huge Polyphia fan, but also listen to a lot of Icon for Hire, Pendulum and Dreamcatcher. So well yes, stop using my Spotify playlist please!
Hahah maaaaybe, should should just share you list and I'll just do those 😂😂😂
@@ChaseCarneson Eh nothing fancy these days, some Erra, Veil of Maya, Periphery (still waiting on a Reptile review (this should take about 1h of video from you aha), Plini, Architects, Intervals, you know all of them now! (k-pop wise you're in for a lot of surprise, coming from a more "metal background" I really like some bands out there, I don't know what it is in k-pop music that resonates with more "hard" and "rock" listener rather than traditional popheads, that'd be an interesting analysis to hear actually)
Welcome to the InSomnia club! Just in time for comeback too. They still use the typical kpop formula (intro, verse, bridge, chorus, rap, bridge, chorus) but they’re still so unique and amazing!
This is so well arranged that i'm feeling the sudden urge to listen to K-Pop non stop all weekend. Those breaks and OMG THE BASS
"Piri" ist my favorite Song from DreamCatcher ! "Chase Me" is another really good Song from this Group ! Or "Endless Night" with extrem hard Japanese Metall Sound ! Dreamcatcher is so different ! Dami ist my Bias !
Dreamcatcher can drained your energy just by their MV/songs. They have that effect. They make you wanna move around and they hyped you up. They are so uplifting. Atleast for me. Whenever I feel down or needed motivation, Dreamcatcher is the remedy.
I am not a kpop fan as well, but Dreamcatcher caught my attention and been stanning them for a month now. Their live performances are amazing.
To be fair, those who recommended Dreamcatcher as representative of the genre pulled a fast one on you... lol.. and I'm glad they did... Too many channels start K-pop reactions with the most famous groups, which are more resentative.
Dreamcatcher is a hidden gem in K-pop, very unique. Many groups dabble with guitars and drums here and there, but Dreamcatcher always include those in their title tracks, even if not predominant, like the later one. And their so-called b-sides are all worth listening to, they have one of the greatest musical catalogue in K-pop.
You should react to their title tracks in chronological order to see the progression sound wise... and their Japanese singles are totally different, one is straight up a metal song (Endless Night). Our girls work so hard to be unique while trying to get recognition for their effort and talent. It is slowly paying off, they weren't recognized originally in Korea (circa 2017) because their sound is very much rock oriented, and Koreans don't like that so much (rock is a more mature sound, and most Korean fans are young teenagers). But they kept at it, and lately have mixed other genres (after Piri, in fact) and are getting the recognition they deserve, sort of...
When you are familiar with them, you should look at where they came from. They existed as an entirely different group (Sept. 2014 to Oct. 2016) called Minx... The transition from Minix to Dreamcatcher will blow you away... and I swear I'm not exaggerating... Not one single group that I know of has made such a transition and survived, and even got successful. Dreamcatcher are very unique in so many ways, this is why we love them so much and support them so much, they deserve all the respect we can throw at them. And the members themselves are all such genuine and good people, it's unbelievable how nice they are. Welcome to the dream world!
Dreamcatcher is certainly very different from the other kpops, and that's why I LOVE it.
you ABSOLUTELY have to react to their only full album! it's called "dystopia: the tree of language", it was released last year and it's my ultimate favorite album (not just kpop, but in general).
idk, this album feels like an emotional journey to me, it has a lot of different genres in it but somehow it feels extremely cohesive and it ain't got a single skip imo, every song is unique!!
dreamcatcher is like korea's hidden treasure fr, they got everything: top tier discography, choreographies, visual, vocals and they're the most precious and kind hearted ppl ever!
hope you enjoy your journey learning about them, I'll look forward to more dc reactions 😊
Sounds awesome. Can't wait
Finally my man Chase is reacting to my all time favorite Kpop group. You cannot escape the dreamworld now 🤘😁
The thing that makes it hard for other kpop groups to try and put this same sound in their music is that Dreamcatcher is seen as one to beat. Naturally, if any other group tries to replicate this sound(be it girl or boy groups) then they will be compared to Dreamcatcher. This is mostly because Dreamcatcher has made a statement with their music and made it clear that they aren't going anywhere any time soon.
Despite being smaller than a lot of groups, members from several Big 3/more popular groups have expressed how much respect they have for Dreamcatcher as individuals and a group. That's another reason why a lot of groups and fanbases of those groups support and love DC. They've gone from being looked down on to being looked up to. We are very proud InSomnias.
The main thing that makes everything DC releases so great is because the girls have a hand in writing lyrics, music production, and picking the concepts. So, they are not only singing a song or dancing a dance to appear cool, draw in fans, or gain more money, but they're doing it because they fully believe in the message they are putting out.
He did all the faces and expressions that we all do when we hear Dreamcatcher. I like his reaction so much, seems so genuine to me and i'm glad that he appreciate the hard work behind all the music. Thank you.
Dreamcatcher is more than just kpop, they are at another level or universe. For me the best K-pop group ever assembled, at least in all the years that I have followed kpop. This is only a little example of what these girls give us.
This is will be interesting....
Heard good things abaout dreamcatcher but never checked them out...seems now i will 😊
One of my favorite girl groups in all of K-pop. Excellent vocals, rapping, dancing, visuals, concept, etc. "Piri" is kind of an odd place to start on your discovery of Dreamcatcher..but hey..it's an awesome song!
I'm so excited for you all to see this!!!
Oh hell yeah! Chase, you're about to fall down another rabbit hole. 😁
You know it! This was AMAZING!
Nice! Dreamcatcher is the only kpop i followed. Liked their theme, music, vocal etc.
If you want to hear Kpop, Dreamcatcher is not really the typically kpop group... in fact, "not typically" is an understatement once you start hearing more of their songs and other kpop songs
Damn this is exciting, hope you check some of their other songs as well, I like Piri but think some of the other ones are more interesting.
DEFINITELY more coming. I can promise you that.
@@ChaseCarneson call me subbed and ready, cause I am 🤘
subbed here also
please more dreamcatcher
I reaaaaaally loved his reaction, was almost the same as mine, I started with Piri and BLOWED MY MIND, this girls and their producers are so damn talented
Wow what a pleasant surprise. Dreamcatcher is what sucked me into the Kpop hole 2 years ago. Coming from a Hardrock, Powermetal background, I say they are awesome. And they have so many good songs. Can't wait for it
Oh no! K-Pop! There is no escape. It's like the Sirens singing to Odysseus. You're hooked.
Great insight into their music! Dreamcatcher are an amazing group, each of their title tracks still manage to have their signature sound whilst still doing something new and unique.
They have new song coming out on 26th Jan called 'Odd Eye' that should be hip-hop rock :) It's part 3 of a trilogy story line though, so you should totally check out 'Scream' and 'Boca'.
I cannot wait!!!!!
No one does it like Dreamcatcher! Thank you for reacting to them! ^_^
I could tell you have a deep love for music so I would love to see you react to more of Dreamcatcher because their discography is insane. And what I think is cool about the group is that 95% of their songs are produced by the same production duo, Leez and Ollounder, so they are the backbone of Dreamcatcher's sound. Leez even provides some background vocals and Ollounder does a lot of the guitar and drum work. The members of Dreamcatcher work closely with Leez and Ollounder and have a lot of input in the music making as well. This makes Dreamcatcher fairly unique amongst most Kpop groups.
a musical overload. absolutely perfect.
You should be aware that Dreamcatcher is not a typical Kpop group. They are something special and stand out in the Korean music industry. Not only their rock influenced songs but the pure quality of seven really talented singers summed up in one band. Enjoy whatever song of them you'll discover, you won't be disappointed. These girls rock !
We can find great vocals all throughout the K-pop industry. It's their music, their instrumentals, their overall sound which pulled me in. ;_;
I was about to say goodbye to K-pop until I found them, these 7 queens. 🔥
You found a gem! Please do remember that dreamcatcher is not your usual kpop. Dreamcatcher is probably the most unique kpop girl group out there both sound-wise and concept-wise. Love the reaction I hope you react to Boca, Scream or Deja Vu next. Enjoy the journey!
Oh man, from one South African to another, I am so delighted that you're reacting to this! Dreamcatcher are my favourite girls! They have some pretty heavy stuff out there (mostly their Japanese releases) which would be super cool for you to react to once you have the time
Lots more to come from this group. I absolutely love reacting to them and I can't wait for more. Also 🇿🇦🇿🇦❤️
I absolute LOVE watching metalheads discover Dreamcatcher. New sub if you're continuing this! They have a new album dropping on the 26th too :)
Much more to come. Along with loads of other stuff
Handsome PLSSS MORE DREAMCATCHER!!!👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻✨✨✨
You chose such a good and unique kpop group to be your first listenn! I love Dreamcatcher so much qnd im so happy to see your positive reaction to them 🥺💖
Same as you, I fell in love with Dreamcatcher exactly with this song. I've been listening to Korean music for almost 15 years. This is the only group in K-pop that I listen to with passion. Their new mini-album will be released in two days and I am looking forward to it. welcome you to the #InSomenia.
This my first watch of your video and your channel about DC, Immediate subs. And what I love about your reaction is that you try your best to analyze what's in your thought and mind
Wow, thank you!
while i'm not nearly as well versed in kpop as i am in other things, it's interesting to note how they're beginning to take notice of the massive wave of alt-idol in japan, at least with Dreamcatcher specifically
only a matter of time before we see a kpop group with production that sounds like minor threat and stage diving/crowd surfing at their shows, god bless
Now this was a pleasant surprise, loved your reaction! I hope you listen to their other songs as well, almost all their b-sides can pass off as title tracks. Super underrated group!
Welcome to new world "Dreamcatcher"
From InSomnia in Korea
드림캐쳐 팬덤 이름이에요 인섬니아가?
@@정구는핵말려네.. 그렇습니다
Love these girls. Although technically k pop, I think they are a genre all on their own.
Tbf kpop isn’t even a genre in itself, but Dreamcatcher are certainly anti-mainstream
Dreamcatcher is a Genre 😅♥️ They will have a new song coming this Jan. 26 titled Odd Eye!
I can't wait. Going to be filming much more from this group.
Thank you for checking out Dreamcatcher.
It's been a pleasure to watch your reactions and detailed review.
Please check out other Dreamcatcher's songs, you won't regret it!!
They have an amazing discography and so diverse!
Endless Night or Deja Vu, for example, are mind-blowing
Promise, more coming
You might be interested in Dreamcatcher's good night (which is there second title track since debuting). It's very fast paced and has their j-rocky energy in it.
Endless night or No more might as well be something for you as they are also very hardhitting and heavier (These are japanese releases by them)
Other than that, dejavu, scream and boca are some newer tracks by them which in my opinion brought it to another level for them
Also Break the wall and Sahara are bsides which I highly recommend.
Other than that, I honestly like each Song of them.
You be warned, dreamcatcher is somewhat a hidden treasure, other groups sound totally different and do not integrate rock elements into their music(girl groups at least)
Only one I can think of, which could be worth a watch is Blaze by Rolling Quartz who recently debuted.
Thanks for your great reaction!
Chase…. Just FYI … DREAMCATCHER JUST WON THEIR FIRST FIRST PLACE TROPHY !!! HUGE DAY!!!!
DC definitely is a huge outlier within kpop in regards to musical style. I really hope you’ll do some of their stuff every now and then, they should fit right in well with what you usually cover (Deja Vu best song btw).
I also think it may be worthwhile to look at other kpop groups if you want a feel for something more traditional for an analysis, because DC is many things but traditional ain’t one of them.
