Yeah, Fly High is the origin story. The outfits are significant. The stripped ones are school uniforms so you see them as innocent schoolgirls. Red is a very positive color in Korea so the video starts out with them in red because they are still pure. The dark blue is a very negative color and indicates they've been corrupted. There's a scene of Dami finding and reading the spell book which is what begins their fall into darkness. Yoohyeon burning the little spider is an unforgivable sin in Buddhist belief and it showed that corruption had taken hold of the girls. Yoohyeon touching the mirror in a dream and getting stuck in black goop indicates her turn to the dark side of her self. Mirrors in Dreamcatcher videos always symbolize the dark/light duality of human nature. The story then goes into Korean mythology when Yoohyeon's cruelty angers the Guardian Spirit of Spiders. Korean mythology is very similar to Greek mythology where the world is filled with numerous minor nature deities that you really don't want to mess with. The Spider Guardian , which is based on the Native American story of how the dreamcatcher was originally created, curses the girls and removes their souls. The butterfly is often used as a metaphor for the soul in Korea and China, so the butterflies burning away around Jiu show that loss. The girls are now soulless spirits doomed to walk the Earth forever tasked with bringing nightmares into the dreams of mortals. At the end Jiu, the strongest of them, shuts the gate locking them inside the school (which later became a hotel) to protect the world from them. The actions of the ghost hunter in Chase Me and Good Night allowed them to escape into the world where we find them in You and I, but the Spider is not about to leave them alone.
Yep! "Fly High" is the prequel. I think it's right that they're being called to darkness at different points. JiU couldn't have possibly seen that spider out of the corner of her eye. Seems she was drawn to it. Clearly, that's no normal spider. Yoohyeon made a terrible mistake.
Yeah they seemed almost like they were in a trance or being pulled towards something involuntarily. It's fun to watch when their facial expressions change! That's something we didn't mention but the acting is 🔥
@NewChapterReactions yes! Acting is always ace! So what I've gathered is this was Iike a boarding school the girls were at, cuz they appear to be students. Eventually, it seems they're reported missing. The things on the wall by the mirror seemed to be like very old school missing persons things from newspapers. I'd be interested in you guys' theory of why the girls were there or if you think it's a school or something else.
Just in time for their 7th anniversary! I’ll watch this to go down the memory lane with you girls. I hope you are enjoying your journey so far. Again, happy anniversary to these amazing people.
Your comment about "What is a good kid" is spot on, I think. The lyrics in the Nightmare series tend to focus more on the issues that we face as humans. Society's expectations, fear, loss, etc. Like all DC music there's always multiple layers that can be interpreted from the lyrics, mvs, & choreo. I always love seeing other people's interpretations. I've always viewed the songs in the different storylines like this. Nightmare Series is about dealing with internal issues. You're place in society, dealing with feelings of loss, dealing with fear & depression, etc. Dystopia Trilogy is about dealing with external issues. People attacking you through social media, dealing with hate and an imperfect world. Apocalypse Trilogy is about dealing with existential issues. Climate change & War. My high-level interpretation of the MVs Chase Me - The members are Nightmares, having been cursed by the events in Fly High. The hunter is there looking for them and by the end of the MV he's found them. Good Night - He's managed to trap a few of the members. Gahyeon & Sua are both shown in the book with the things that are happening to them. Sua is restrained by the forest & Gahyeon is stuff falling. Fly High - This is a prequel and shows the events that lead to the initial curse. This gets kicked off by Yoohyeon burning the spider. Throughout the MV you see the members either overtaken by the cursed versions of themselves or potentially dead as shown by Handong in the tub. By the end, Jiu is the only one left who's her normal self and she races to close the gates trapping them and the curse to keep it from spreading. I also look at Fly High as a mirror for their transition from Minx to Dreamcatcher. The song has the beautiful bright melodies that are interrupted by these dark oppressive jabs of electric guitars and drums. As the video goes on the production continues to darken until the change is complete at the end.
"Fly High" is the chronological beginning of the story, as it is the title track of their first mini-album called "Prequel." The mystery codes released before "Fly High" help to better understand the story. The girls are students in a kind of boarding school, and one day Jiu sees a spider, catches it, and Yoohyeon burns it with a magnifying glass. This triggers a curse since spiders are those who weave dreamcatchers, and the Spider Lady (the one that covers Gahyeon eyes) decides to avenge the spider's death by cursing the girls and turning them into nightmares. In one of the mystery codes, a girl writes a letter to her mother, explaining strange things happening, and her mother responds with a letter expressing concern and a strange dream about her daughter. The events of "Chase Me" occur after "Fly High." Here, the girls are seen tormenting a nightmare hunter, with each member haunting the hunter with their own nightmare. Each member represents a different fear; for example, Handong represents the fear of being spied on, spying on the man from her room's door. Yoohyeon represents the fear of getting lost, so she puts a sign with his room number on all doors to confuse the man. At the end of the video, the hunter finds the girls' room and discovers the book that he will use in the "Goodnight" video. In "Goodnight," it is now the hunter who haunts the girls using the book, trapping them inside their own nightmares. The man opens the book to a page with a drawing of a girl falling into the void, and later, we see Gahyeon falling. He then opens the book to a page with a drawing of a girl trapped by arms, and Sua finds herself in the forest with arms holding her still. When Dami retrieves the book and burns the pages, the trapped girls are released, and they manage to trap the hunter in the nightmare world, freeing themselves and returning to the real world.
All the detailed meanings are in the videos, but the only way you can see them is to watch the video at the slowest speed and freeze frame at the right moments. In Chase Me the guy has a letter from the hotel with a picture of the girls attached to it. The letter asks the investigator to come to the hotel because strange things are happening there. The nightmare series videos are all like this, with so much detail packed into them that it takes a lot of time to tease it all out. Everything in their videos is there for a reason which is what makes Dreamcatcher so much fun.
You did such a great job catching all of the story points! Much better than my first time through! Don't forget about Yoohyeon and the spider going into the next few!
The main running concept of this series in addition to the fantasy storyline of them trying to escape the nightmare they are in, is them experiencing their own specific version of these nightmares in that journey. I tried to keep it only to the 3 MVs you guys watched in this video but thought you would be interested in the running themes/motifs of their Nightmare series. Each one represent a nightmare/fear that they are cursed with by the spider queen. They experience it themselves and sometimes can project it onto someone's dreams as well like on the ghost hunter in Good Night MV. Yoohyeon's innocent mistake of killing what she thought was a normal spider, that happened be the spider queen, lead to all of them being cursed with specific nightmares that is shown/repeated throughout the MVs. JiU: Fear of being chased by someone. In Fly High MV, you can see her running in corridors as if being chased by someone. In her nightmare, that someone chasing her sometimes manifests as herself, like when she was looking into a room where someone is playing the piano and is shocked to see that person be a doppelganger of herself and runs away. SuA: Fear of being restrained/tied up In Good Night MV, her being restrained by tree roots because of the spell from the occult book cast by the ghost hunter. Siyeon: Fear of being trapped in small places or Claustrophobia Nothing yet in the MVs you watched in this video but in an upcoming MV Handong: Fear of being watched/stared at or Scopophobia Agressive staring in Chase MV right before the first chorus. In Good Night MV, watching the ghost hunter through the mirror, then later all the eyes in the room watching him. Yoohyeon: Fear of being lost in an unknown place. For now, in Good Night MV, Yoohyeon with Siyeon running around disoriented in the forest, more evidence in upcoming MVs Dami: Fear of getting hurt/scars or Oulinophobia/Agliophobia In Chase Me, the seance scene where it switches between her and a voodoo doll in a seance circle. In Good Night and Fly High MVs too there are voodoo magic scenes with the occult book and her to represent how you can hurt anyone using voodoo magic and a voodoo doll. Gahyeon: Fear of falling. In Good Night MV, at first chorus you see her falling endlessly in a dark and empty space.
"Chase me" was their debut, released on January 13th (a Friday), 2017. It must have been nerve-wrecking for the members, re-debuting with a genre that is not popular in Korea after Minx failed. (5 of them were Minx before.) But they already doubled their sales with this. And they stuck with the Rock/Metal vibe until today, now selling 50 times the albums than Minx did. This is the start of the Nightmare arc, which spans 6 MVs and 1 Japanese release. They are Nightmares here, and the Nightmare hunter is trying to dispel them - how that turns out is shown in the next one, Good Night. Good Night is one of their heavier releases, and I love it. The K-Rock girl group Rolling Quartz also did an excellent cover of it. The Nightmare hunter casts spells to trap the members, but they get the book from him and turn it against him, trapping him behind the mirror. The next song in the Nightmare arc, "Fly High", is from the album "Prequel", which is a strong hint to consider. 😉 That is also a very interesting song. "Fly High" is probably the poppiest of the Nightmare arc. It was not done by their usual production team as well. But it makes sense, since this is a prequel, so bringing in a bit of the Minx sound makes sense to me. There are really heavy parts in it as well, which clearly state that they are not Minx anymore. And I love the dark parts thrown in, they really make the song special. The light part sung by SuA after the metal break is in major, while the rest of the song is in minor. That is why it stands out so much. They did the same in Good Night, but a lot shorter. About the MV: You can see Yoohyeon burning the spider, which brought the curse of the spider queen down on the members. You will see the spider queen again in You and I. In Native American mythology, spiders are considered protectors, that is why a Dreamcatcher resembles a spider's net. That is a brilliant connection to their name! 😊 Two things about the next one, You and I: Get the MV from the Happyface channel, that one has subs. And also, there are definitely no spiders in that one. None at all.
DREAMCATCHER CHASE ME: The guy checks into room 808. From the start, it is known that he is a paranormal investigator and that he is investigating the haunted castle, where the girls are bound to (JIU closed the gates to the mansion in the Fly High video). As he struggles to get into the door, the lights flicker, and we see JIU standing in the hallway, holding a doll dressed in red. He sees her but when he directs his camera to her, she cannot be seen in the camera view.Once he does get into his innocent looking room, he takes out his files that he had compiled on the girls and started to mark down that he saw JIU. However, his pencil broke and had a bloody nose. No doubt that the girls caused this time. He decides to take a rest, as a result. The picture he had acquired is the same as the girls shown in Fly High and You & I, confirming that they are dead and that they have been dead for a very long time. I also remembered that they wore their kimonos in the reverse order, which is commonly associated with the dead. During his rest, he is hypnotized by SUA. (The way she swung the pendant was like how she rang the bell in Fly High). He wakes up knowing she is there but after turning back, she is no longer there. The hypnosis seems to be the start of something as he starts seeing that his reflection is delayed, and he starts getting nightmares when he sleeps. We are then shown a ritual scene, where Dami is lying on the ground and all the members are surrounding her. One of the items around her, of interest, is the red doll, which JIU was holding onto (SUA is also in the middle). Their plan, whatever it is at this stage is taking into effect. As mentioned previously, JIU was leader after she became possessed/evil in You & I. The use of her doll in this ritual might be a transfer of leadership to another member. This will be important in the next video. Each member takes a turn at tormenting the guy. Siyeon holds the door in place, Gahyeon throws books onto the ground. JIU floats in the hallway. Yoohyeon changes all the room numbers to room 808, confusing him in a later scene. At the bridge of the song, we see him inspecting the surveillance system, which I assumed he installed himself. He sees confronting images of himself crawling away from something or someone. It isn’t shown on camera, but we see a flashback to JIU walking towards him. This convinces him that enough is enough, and he brings an axe to his room. He starts swinging the axe, the main goal being to break down the door and hotel, one step at a time. However, when he steps back into the room, we do not see his room. Instead, we see a warm coloured room, shown as one of the rooms the girls used to play in. On the wall is that old picture of the group, enlarged. He smiles in the room, which I am not sure why he does so.
Putting It easy. Fly high IS the prequel of all mvs. It starts with JiU catching that Spider but it isnt just a regular Spider, its a Witch and then things start to turn weird and scary. But then when Yoohyeon burns that spider, the Witch catches all members one by one and turn them into nightmares being Yoohyeon the most affected one (some members were caught and some just let it be and let themselves being caught). Jiu IS the least affected so she decides to Go to the door and Close It so no one else outside those Doors are affected too. The Next mvs shows them fighting to break the spell and JiU trying to save Yoohyeon. We can say that Yoohyeon IS the main character in the nightmare series BC she was the one Who started It burning that Spider ❤
fun fact: fly high was filmed in france! the scenes where we see the cliff are filmed in Etretat, Normandie and the castle is the Chateau de Janvry, Ile de France. as a french somnia i was very happy when i first learned this
Baby Gahyeon in FLY HIGH is do adorable. The attention to detail, the storyline, the writing, the aesthetic, everything is just perfect. THIS IS ART! A cinematic experience. This is what I want from the music industry.
Fly High, it's Dami taking Gahyeon. They eventually revealed to us that whenever they need to see a closeup of someone's hands they use Dami cause she has what they consider the most 'elegant' hands and the long fingers. The hand reaching through the mirror in Good Night is Dami, we see her holding the book afterwards and looking rather pleased with herself, petting it. She also picks up a book in Fly High... Hmm! (edited to add since you already saw it, Dami held the mask when it was plunged into the water in Scream)
She is the Symbol of Courage ⚔, She is the Symbol of Strength 💪 , She is the Symbol of Heart ♥, She is the Symbol of the Dreamcatcher ✨. " She is and They are the first and always" , Eternal Legendary Dreamcatcher
fly high is one of my favorite dc mv's ever, the moment i got really into the lore i went back and rewatched it like a bajillion times trying to catch all the little details and going "oh! OHHHH!!!" over and over again lmao
Fly High is off their 1st mini album 'Prequel' and is taken as the beginning of the series. Though not shown directly "The Book" can be seen within the music video, Dami reading in one scene, and SuA holding in scene with Siyeon when they are in robes. The Nightmare series is cool cause it can be interpreted in different ways with the order of the MV's shifted around. The camera distortion is to show the spider's view.
For Chase Me, as you might have deduced when you read the lyrics, it has a secondary meaning. If you recall, Dreamcatcher is formed from a failed group called Minx which music was based on a cutesy bright concept. But as it is the norm in the Korean music scene (even now), Minx did not take off due to competition in the market due to it being saturated with girl groups doing the same thing and they could not stand out against the bigger groups or groups back by companies with much larger marketing resources (it has to be note that their company while not unknown, but is still relatively small). Hence, the lyrics of Chase Me also alludes to doing something different where the industry norm, i.e. are "empty people's dreams"which are "boring", and hence, they want "something thrilling", and "gonna do something outrageous" so that "the quiet world is going to get a lot of noise". With Chase Me as their debut song, instead of them chasing after fads and trends, they are not setting their own trend with their music and asking the general public to chase them and follow up instead, and they will get 'seven different little presents every day". As for 808, it is an easter egg reference to drums (i.e. rock). The scene showing them touching the room labels is them changing all the room number to 808 to confuse the ghost/paranormal hunter. The overall plot for Chase Me and Good Night is basically, the guy is a ghost hunter and he is hunting the ghost/nightmares (i.e. the Dreamcatcher) and trying to trap them, but they eventually escape and trapped him instead.
In Chase Me the man is a paranormal investigator/nightmare hunter sent to investigate what happened in the mansion (finally seen from the outside in the prequel Fly High). The first room he entered was 808. At one point during the video Yoohyeon changes all the room numbers to 808 to mess with him. The girls are appearing in his nightmares (each as their own specific nightmare). I've been a DC fan for a couple years now but I never figured out the story myself without looking it all up and trying to weed through fan theories for the actual intended story. As for my favorite of these 3, definitely Chase Me. It's still on my main work playlist to this day!
happy 7th anniversary, dreamcatcher! ♡ thanks for celebrating it with this video, such a good timing. it was fun to watch their first step as dreamcatcher again with youuu!!
Speaking of colours. The thing that you constantly have to keep an eye for, is the use of the colors red and blue. They represent good and evil in Korean folklore and for that they are dominant colors in every dreamcatcher titletrack video. Especially in "Fly High" which is the origin of the series, you can see the girls dressed both in red and blue school uniforms (before and after they got cursed by the spider witch), and in white shirts with red and blue skirts in the meantime.
*Hint* Album names play a part in what's happening in MVs. Like for 'Fly High' is on the album 'Prequel'. Glad you caught Yoohyeon killing the spider, a lot of people miss that. Plus it plays a big part in the story, dream catchers are represented/made to look like spider webs.
Re: Room 808 they weren’t just grasping at the room number they actively switched the number to be above a different room. To play a trick on him? To lead him into their room so they could trap him in the mirror realm? He is just a paranormal investigator trying to get evidence of them, as far as I know. Or he’s a regular police investigator trying to figure out what happened to them (which is maybe why they put the room number above the room that used to be theirs, to lead him to where they used to be). The book is their book that they left in the woods and he was just using it to try to find out what happened to them? He didn’t actually do anything to them, as you find out in Fly High, and him looking through the book as you are seeing everything is him reliving their journey through the book :) That is how I always interpreted it, anyway. Also, if I remember correctly, Digipedi directed Chase Me and Goodnight but not Fly High. Re: the cloak, you can actually get it! Find it on their website, it’s actually official DC merch! :D Edit: I hit enter too soon on the comment, but yeah, you’ll see the spider again in You and I. ;) Chase Me is my favorite of the 3.
Their first fan song Full Moon had a mini MV. It was suggested that the boy grows up to be the hunter in Chase Me and that Gahyeon is the little girl casting the spell.
Chase Me and Good Night were way ahead of their time. I read somewhere that of the 40 groups that debuted in 2017 Dreamcatcher was the only group with a rock /metal theme with horror concept, and only among a few still standing.
They sell the cloak now as merch. Fly High and You & I tell the story of what happened in the past how they turned from regular girls into the bored spirits messing with that guy daring him to chase them. After you see all the Nightmare series you can watch the special clip of Scream Nightmare version and play the game of picking out who is what era. 🙂
The robes, their outfits designs were actually based on “kimono”, a japanese garment, and the way of wearing, where the left side covering the right side, is actually way of wearing for dead people Btw love the reactionss, hope to see more Dreamcatcher reaction videoss👍👍
I genuinely had not noticed this before but in the Good Night MV those robes they are wearing at the end are the one they released with their light stick. It was my first time noticing as well, I was so surprised😅 So you can have it if you want, It's DC Merch😄
One of my favorite things about the mini album that Good Night is from... It's called Fall Asleep in the Mirror and Good Night is followed by the track Lullaby. Like in the video they trapped HIM in the Nightmare and sang him a Lullaby to sleep forever in the mirror. It's so dark and yet an awesome little Easter egg.
I love the entire series. They are all part of the same story, like chapters from a book. 'Fly High' is the prequel for the entire Nightmare series. In fact, the album that 'Fly High' is on is called 'Prequel'. That MV was shot at a very special OLD place in France (originally built in the 1600's and is now a Museum, but it can also be rented out for a time so people can do some small game hunting on the grounds). The girls are wearing the French colors for their school uniforms (Blue, White and Red) so it seems that when all of this started, they were school girls at a private 'finishing school'. It's not a big school but it is a big house and has an attic, which is in one single scene that was not long enough for me to see what was going on up there. Nobody really knows just how long ago the school was going on, could have been simply Pre-Millennium, could have been pre-WWII or who knows? Anyway, set in the past at the very least. The ladies have been haunting the place for some time because it later got turned into the Hotel that is seen in 'Chase Me'. 'Pretty sure' that SuA was the leader of a Coven of Witches. Obviously Siyeon is involved in the Coven as she went walking with SuA in the woods and they were both wearing the cloaks at one point, while SuA was carrying the Book. Dami is 'the brain' so she reads a LOT. Not sure if she was actually a member of the Coven but she did discover the ability to free SuA from the Investigator when the time came. Dami seems to know everything that SuA knows, and maybe even more. I don't remember if Yoohyeon was actually supposed to be one of the Coven members or not but she burned the spider 'because it was fun' (that is the official answer in an interview). Apparently this triggered the curse that turned them all wonky. Because of this action, the entire Nightmare Series is the fault of Yoohyeon's character. Dami is the group's Hand Model, she's the one who covered Gahyeon's eyes. Not sure if that was her character within the MV or if it was simply the Supernatural being who ended up cursing the witches. Outside of the MV, Dami was the one used for that hand because apparently her hands are very veiny, so it looked like it's an OLD hand that covered Gahyeon's eyes. Dami also does other hand modeling in some of the other MV's. JiU's character might or might not have been in the Coven but she feels responsible for what happened to the spider because she was the one to bring it into the house in the first place. Yoohyeon screwed up but it never would have occurred to her to trap the spider in the first place. So at least part of the blame goes to JiU. It looked like JiU had been magical, I guess like a Nature Mage or something. She was pure of heart to begin with so she got along with the Butterflies just fine. But then the Curse hit and suddenly bad things happened. JiU apparently got corrupted so the butterflies burnt away.
They actually have a song about hypnotizing, too! It's called Red Sun and was choreographed by Sua ❤ (I know you won't get to it all that soon because it's a b-side and part of the dystopian-era but I wanted to mention it anyway so you at least have heard of it already! ^-^)
There are a lot of comments so I don't know if I'll be repeating stuff, but I wanted to add that I interpret the lyrics to "Chase Me" and "Good Night" as being more about Dreamcatcher as a group appearing on the K-pop scene: Chase Me about them being different, "what's a good kid, don't try to fit me in that frame" and them, well, showing up on the scene with a bang that will make your head spin; and then in Good Night they're saying "hey we're here now and we got you under our spell, you're not going anywhere" (true). And then starting with "Fly High" I feel like they are talking about mental health, with the nightmare world being an allegory for the metaphorical "dark place" we can get stuck in, that's very difficult to get out of, especially by yourself. Maybe that's also more what I read into it personally as someone who has struggled with mental health issues for a lot of her life. While some of the lyrics can be applied to the dark fantasy story they are telling in the music videos, I find the mental health allegory of the story and the lyrics the most touching personally. As for the details of what _exactly_ is happening in the story in the music videos, people have all sorts of theories including some that people commonly parrot that I think might be far-fetched, but none of it has been confirmed and will never be confirmed, but that's part of the fun 😅 And dreamcatchers as they're called in English I believe originally in Native American cultures weren't meant to catch bad _dreams_ necessarily, but just all sorts of bad energies, including curses or ill will from others. Inspired by the spider web, which is what the Native American names for dreamcatchers refer to, except instead of flies and such it's supposed to catch any evil floating in the air. In that sense Dreamcatcher, the group, wants to protect us from all bad things in the world; whether that's depression and nightmarish situations, or bullying (Dystopia trilogy), or ourselves as we destroy the planet (Apocalypse trilogy) 😊 (And if the spiders and their webs are supposed to protect us, that is of course why most InSomnia theorise that burning the spider was maybe not a good idea; and immediately after, the butterflies also burn, like something beautiful or innocent is disappearing from the world).
Many other InSomnia have been so greatly detailed w/ the explanation of this beautiful era so it'd be redundant to comment my take too. Long short story w/ Deukae, they did something wrong and were punished for it by losing their souls and becoming empty recipients for fobias/fears or what we call: nightmares. Prior losing sense of reality and what they've provoked, JiU took accountability and responsibility for it and trapped herself and rest of Deukae in that big school that yeeeeeeears later was demolished and turned into a hotel which is hunted by them as the nightmares they've turned into. Man was just doing his job, was caught off guard and ended up being played by Deukae 😭😭😭 Savage gals indeed 😭 The ending of the MVs is just so spooky, terrifying how happy the nightmares are about finally being free to wonder around and literally torment anyone they want. They're warning you: if they've targeted you, you're going down. Point blank, PIRIOD 😰🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️
you are so right with fly high. it was actually from the ep, prequel, which means it was all the beginning of the nightmare series. their storyline is interesting yet at the same time hard to catch up but it was a great series!
In the dance practice for Good Night they have amazing moves for the music box intro. Also the trailers (not teasers) for each of these mvs are worth checking out - clues to the storyline.
Nightmare Series supposed to be 7 connected MVs including the Japanese track Breaking Out (although Breaking Out considered as an alternate ending, the event in the MV happened after the event in PIRI) & 1 related B-side, The Curse of the Spider.
there are many theories on how the story goes. but the most accepted one is Fly High is the beginning, yes, when Jiu caught that Spider which was the Queen Spider. Yoohyeon burning that spider can be arranged before the curse started or during the curse spreading. basically one by one, they got cursed and and turned into nightmares. White Red outfit is before curse, Blue is after curse. Jiu closed the gate to contain themselves in the mansion. the mansion which turned into hotel at some point in Chase Me. so there was this guy we still don't know who he is. maybe ghostbuster, ghosthunter, etc. maybe a warlock who came to catch them for personal use with bad intention obviously. so he was searching for the room they stayed in particularly. in the ned he found the room. so in Good Night, he already had the book, and finally he found the room, he tried to manipulate them. but they fought back and trapped or got rid of him entirely. they escaped, but the book was lost during the escape. and now they are in the world. don't forget about the Queen Spider, she will be back.
Basically from what i remember the story line for these 3 mvs are: yoohyeon kills the spider, the spider queen gets angry and curses them and theu become nightmares (it seems native myth about the dreamcatcher says the dreamcatcher is made by the spider queen to protect a boy from his nightmares cause he saved a spider, so of course yoohyeon doing the exact opposite would just turn them into a curse). After they surrender to their dark side, they pick up their stuff and the proves regarding their existances and recludes to one room of the boarding school (oh yeah the castle is a boarding school) that later gets turned into a hotel where the girls haunt people for fun (cause why not) until this guy arrives (a paranormal detective) and starts searching for the room they recluded themselves into (room 808). He gets there and finds the nightmare book which appears to be the origin of their powers cause sua shows up with it after coming back from the fog with siyeon in fly high. He uses it to capture them but they take it back and trap him in the mirror instead
DC is literally the best girl group, not sure why people still sleeping on them... Incredible live vocals from all 7 members. Unbeatable visual from all 7 members. Energetic dancing & choreography from all 7 members. Unique sound & concepts. Sweet, amazing & funny personalities from all 7 members. No bad songs and even b-sides are mostly title track quality.
I'm not sure if you know but each of the girls in dreamcatcher represent a nightmare and sometimes you can see them behave/be in their nightmares in mvs (rose blue and chase me are the only ones I can think of) Jiu - the fear of being followed or chased - in the chase me mv you can see her following Jo dong hyuk sua - the fear of being restrained or unable to move/some say sleep paralysis - I can't find a direct connection to her nightmare in this mv but in the rose blue mv she was chained up in an empty room siyeon - claustrophobia - siyeon holds the door from the outside so he's locked in the room handong - scopophobia (the fear of being watched) - she was watching jo dong hyuk from the windows yoohyeon - the fear of being lost in an unknown place - she was the one messing with the room numbers so all of the rooms had the number 808 dami - the fear of extreme physical pain - It could've been her that gave him the headache and nosebleed in the beginning of the song but her nightmare isn't shown that directly in either of the mvs. I might be missing something. gahyeon - the fear of falling from high places - she knocks down the books in his room
i recently wanted to get into dreamcatcher as well and the fact that you both are my favourite reactors, i will follow along with you guys instead! it feels like catching up together with a friend and i am not going to be alone on this journey
Ah. The Nightmare Arc. Such a unique concept. Each member represented a different fear. JiU: The fear of being chased by someone SuA: The fear of being tied up/confined Sieyeon: The fear of enclosed spaces Handong: The fear of people staring/watching you Yoohyeon: The fear of being lost in an unknown place Dami: The fear of being hurt/blood/scars Gahyeon: The fear of falling They all made stuff happen in Chase Me. JiU chased the guy down corridors. SuA seemed to paralyze him in his sleep. Sieyeon trapped him in a room. Handong was staring at him through windows & peepholes. Yoohyeon changed all the room numbers to the same on to confuse him. Dami caused his nose to spontaneously bleed. Gahyeon constantly knocked things over & off things. The guy had been hired to rid the hotel of the nightmares the members had become. He had old copies of their school pictures, and who they were before they were cursed into nightmare form. Good Night picks up where Chase Me left off. It reveals that the guy was a Witch Hunter (Possibly under the employ of the Spider Queen) and he was using the magic books to trap the members in their representative nightmares. He managed to trap SuA & Gahyeon, but the members distracted him & his minions long enough for JiU, Handong, & Dami to use magic to steal the book. They burned the pages confining the other two members to free them. They then used their magic & the book to trap him in the spirit realm that they had been in. (Possibly burning that one realm down behind them with him in it.) They were then able to break out of the hotel that they had been trapped in & journey into the world. As they went through the forest, you see ghostly eyes watching them. And Dami drops the book in the forest. Fly High is the prequel. It shows how they became the nightmares. They were young witches in training at a special boarding school. It seems SuA & Sieyeon had been reading from the spell book in the forest away from the others. Then Yoohyeon is drawn to a mirror & is corrupted when she touches it. She then distracts JiU when she had captured a spider for focusing magic. Yoohyeon then comes back & burns the spider, invoking the wrath of the Spider Queen. One by one the others fall under the curse. We see SuA & Sieyeon in the windows below Handong watching her throw the black airplane. Gahyeon is corrupted in her own room, while trying to sleep. Dami tried reading a spell to ward off the curse, but failed. JiU sees her corrupted self & runs to lock & seal the curse & themselves in the School....They can no longer leave the grounds & are trapped in the school grounds....Which became the hotel we saw them haunting in Chase me, many years later.
Love to see you reacting to their debut and the nightmare series. It was such a great era, it brings back so many memories from that time. 😊 I'll be looking forward to more of your reactions to Dreamcatcher.
You can call her a idol , but she is more . You can call her a Angel , but she is more . You can call her a Wizard , but she is more . You can call her a Fairy , but she is more . You can call her a Dreamcatcher , she is Everything and More ✨🔥🌹⚡,
The way that this is all Yoohyeon’s fault is so 😭 like if she wouldn’t have touched that damn spider and also Dami always touching them occult ass books
Unfortunately there is no definitive plot in the nightmare series cuz neither DCC nor members confirmed anything. Hence, even almost 4 years after the nightmare series ended, we are still guessing😅. For me, the best theory that explained the whole story line is Dreamcatcher nightmare storyline explained video by sua’s sinb. Please consider checking it out after finishing the series 😊
It's funny how every time someone watch the nightmare series for the first time, they automatically root for the girls, even though they are the villains, the actual nighmares, in the story (at least for the first couple of videos). In fact each member throughout the series represented a different nightmare, as it was portrayed in the scetches the ghost-hunter was reading. The poor ghost-hunter that everyone despises until they realise he is the actual victim in the end of "Good Night".😆
First and foremost, most of the details about the story have been purposefully left vague. There is very little 'official' information about the story. They did this to allow the fans to theorize, discuss and come up with their own versions of the story. As such, in the spirit of allowing you to come up with your own theories about the story, I will try to avoid giving out too many details here. I will, however, try to touch on some of the key points. Yes, you were right, Fly High is a prequel. This actually takes place before Chase Me and Good Night. You'll notice that, unlike the previous songs and MV's, this scenes the and song in this MV are quite light and cheerful throughout most of the MV. But, as it progresses, things get progressively darker as the curse starts to take hold. The key points are... *The setting; 7 cheerful and carefree girls are attending boarding school in France. *JiU captures a spider, triggering a curse that will eventually turn them all into Nightmares. *As you mentioned, over the course of the MV each member falls under the influence of the curse. *During the MV we see Dami discover a book of spells as well as what I call The Book of Nightmares. *Yoohyeon at one point tries to escape, gets drawn back in and ends up killing the spider with the magnifying glass. This makes her a very special target for whoever is behind the curse (more on this in later MV's). *JiU, realizing that something horrible is happening runs out of the school and closes the gate, trapping the girls, and the curse, within the confines of the school grounds. Chase Me and Good Night, the continuing saga of our favorite Nightmares... The key points are... *Setting; Some years later the boarding school has been turned into a hotel. *A paranormal investigator (PI) arrives at the hotel to investigate why the guests at the hotel keep suffering from nightmares. *Upon arriving at the hotel, the PI encounters the perpetually locked room 808. *Upset by his intrusion, the members taunt him ('Chase me but you'll never catch me'), invade his dreams, give him nightmares and, in general, just mess with his head. *Finding that they cannot drive him out they try to lock him out by changing all the room numbers to 808, effectively locking him out of all the rooms. *Not to be deterred, the PI takes an axe to the original room 808's door, allowing him to gain access to the room. **end Chase Me, begin Good Night** *After gaining access to room 808 the PI discovers Dami's books. *While paging through the book he triggers Gahyeon's and SuA's nightmares. (note: In case you didn't know or have forgotten, each member has a representative nightmare, much like most groups have a representative animal) *Dami reaches through the mirror and retrieves her books. *They free Gahyeon and SuA by burning the pages that depict their nightmares. *They also use the spells in the book to trap the PI in the mirror, freeing themselves in the process. There, I tried to make this as brief and vague as I could. Most of these are pretty obvious and can be discerned after repeatedly watching the videos. Side note: You'll notice that throughout the MV's their outfits switch from light to dark. The represents their inner turmoil, the inner struggle between their good side wanting to break free of the curse and their bad side that wants to revel in being evil. As for spoilers, everyone knows that the butler did. The real question is _how_ he did it. Homework; Look up the members' representative fears / nightmares (available on kprofiles) and see how many of them you can find in these videos. PS: I lied, there is no butler.
You're sickening riiiight!! OMG!! Loved how you put emphasis on Yoohyeon trying to escape but ends up disoriented in the garden. Then, (naively) resolves to end the issue from the root (the spider) by burning the spider. Which actually only ended up worsing everything, got herself and the rest of Deukae cursed and damned 🥲 Her intentions were pure but her innocent ignorance was everyone's punishment 💔 Absolutely beautiful explanation. Loved it ♥️♥️
You guys did a great job picking up a lot on the Nightmare series! From what I remember... In Goodnight, it actually shows the corresponding nightmare(s)/fears for each member. In addition to Goodnight, at the end, the member dropping the book was actually Yoohyeon. In Fly High, Yoohyeon is seen trying to kill the spider which is the reason why the nightmare on the girls were released/started. (As I'm sure the comments have explained already haha) Fun Fact: If you'd like to see something scary in the MV that you might not have picked up the first time, the scene where Handong throws the paper plane out the window, if you look towards the bottom of the windows, you can see two members standing there staring at the camera. Timestamp on the MV would be 1:29. But I can't wait for the next parts, thank you both for all your efforts, respect and love!
I always thought that all of the room numbers in Chase me were changed to be 808 to purposefully confuse the man in the video. I believe the scene where Yoohyeon is touching the numbers is meant to signify her changing them over to 808 for it to be disorienting to the ghost hunter so he wouldn't know which one was his actual room.
They call Them Dreamcatcher , They call Her Dreamcatcher , They Say she is a Dreamcatcher . " She is and They are the first and always" , Eternal Legendary Dreamcatcher ❤🔥
Happy 7th anniversary to Dreamcatcher! Their journey to fame was a rough one but it proved that they determined to keep going with their unique sound despite everything they've gone through. And I can say it paid off. They're not super famous but they have very loyal fans that keep growing each year. Looking forward for more of their music and achievements many years to come! About the songs; the guy was actually a ghost hunter or investigator, trying to find out about what happened to the 7 girls. They were trapped in the nightmare realm, with each girl representing different type of fear/phobia. They do pranks to the poor guy, like dropping a stack or books while he sleeps or changed all room numbers to 808 to confuse him. In Good Night, the guy got more hints about the girls and obtained a magical book. But instead, the girls stole the book from the mirror dimension and use it to switch places with the guy and trap him in the mirror. Yup, Fly High was the beginning of everything. Just 7 girls having fun in a mansion. That's why the song has more brighter pop sound to it. Jiu found a spider, put it in a jar, and strange things started to happen. The song also getting darker to match the story. In the end, Yoohyeon kill the spider but because of that, hell broke loose so Jiu ran to the gate and close it to stop whatever it is from going out to the outside world, sacrificing themselves and trapped in the nightmare world. At least that's my interpretation of the story. Personally, I looove Good Night and still rate it one of DC's best 3 title tracks to date. The cloak...they actually released it much later as an official merchandise. Pair it with the 3ft official lightstick, and you'll look like a real wizard. Can't wait for your reaction to the rest of the nightmare arc!
There are two arcs to the Nightmare Series. One being the Origin, and two being the Modern Nightmares. The chronological order goes like this. Arc 1 is the Origin: Fly High (The girls get cursed into Nightmares by the Spider Queen due to Yoohyeon's actions) Chase Me (The girls mess with the Nightmare Hunter) Good Night (The Nightmare Hunter captures half of the girls, but the girls ultimately escape with the Nightmare book that caught them, but lose it after escaping the Hunter.)
i srsly always, always amazed by yall brains bcuz of how you guys managed to catch the details and understand the meaning and the story of the mv really quick and pretty much spot on too like wow spare me some brain cells too 😂 anyway i super enjoy watching your reaction and analysis, and so excited to watch yall reacting to the next mvs.. and the dance practice too 🤩❤
After finishing the nightmare series I would recommend watching a lore video to catch all the details in the story because it's so cool! There's a video called dreamcatcher nightmare story explained by Sua's sinb. Also add in breaking out since it's the alternate ending. Fly high is the title of the prequel album so yes it's the story of how they became nightmares
DREAMCATCHER FLY HIGH MEANING: The girls were once happy and cheerful girls, shown in the very sunny and bright lighting at the start of the video. They seem to be living in this old mansion, which seems to be a boarding school. The video starts off with JIU finding a spider in the courtyard while on one of their outings. She traps it in a jar and brings it into the mansion to keep as a pet. After this time, the girls start becoming possessed one by one. We are not shown why this is case until the end. After JIU brings her new spider friend into the house, Yoohyeon comes over with a magnifying glass and burns the spider alive, killing it. This somehow unleashes the spider’s cursed spirit (an important detail in You & I video), possessing the girl’s one by one. Yoohyeon might already be possessed prior to killing the spider as the way she moves in her solo closeup. While it was shown later on, YH (Yoohyeon) spent a lot of time alone while in the mansion (her throwing the paper plane). It was likely during one of the lonely moments she came across the mirror in the garden, which drew her attention. Once she made contact, she becomes possessed, shown by the black paint dripping down the mirror afterwards. The cursed spider spirit caused GY (Gahyeon) and HD (Handong) to become possessed. GY was strapped to the bed. Soon after, we see someone’s hand cover her eyes. As for HD, one moment we see her in a bathtub alive, the next, there is a slight tinge of pink in the water and hands are motionless. Possibly, the same person who possessed GY possed HD as well. SUA seems to be the leader in this video, as she is always sitting at the end of the table and attention is drawn to her at all times when they are together. I don’t know how SY (Siyeon) fits into my theory. She appears at the very start, holding her bunny doll looking towards the mansion as if she knows what is going to happen (and if that is the case, she was the very first member to be possessed, though I do not know how). She, along with SUA venture into the forest and obtain books (2 from of them, from the image below). It is during this adventure that SUA becomes possessed, as they come back wearing black cloaks.DM (Dami) most likely became possessed due to the books she was reading. SuA seemed to be holding two books and these books were placed onto the shelves. DM used those books to study music but they might have been cursed and caused her to become possessed also. The video focuses on JIU as the final unpossessed member. Unknown to her, the curse has already created an evil persona (shown when JIU walks in on herself playing the piano). This causes her to run. As she is running out of the mansion, she constantly checks behind herself, as if she is scared. HOWEVER, I personally think that the evil version is running away from the good version. (Note the navy outfit she was wearing. It is the same as the navy outfit in the choreography shots, which is paired with gloomy skies. And gloomy skies occur because the brightness has disappeared - i.e. darkness arrived). Once evil JIU gets to the gate, she closes it (instead of running out), effectively sealing her and everyone else within the mansion. I think if JIU, if she was 100% evil or 100% good, she would have kept the gate opened and ran out. Instead, there might be some good in JIU, leading to her thinking that closing the gate will be better for the rest of the world (and her friends). We see a shot of her standing on a white cliff, with blue butterflies flying about. They end up burning but the white setting remained, representing that some good is still within her.SUA is seen cutting into their image with a knife. Don’t know the significance of this scene. We then see the members playing around in the garden before it is shown the members standing still. Seems to show the before possession and after possession
Before You and I you can also watch "Dreamcatcher(드림캐쳐) 1st Concert 'Welcome to the Dream World'" that will clue you in on when Fly High takes place if you look close enough.
You and I which is coming up is when I started checking them out so its always fun to go back and start from the beginning. I always play Chase Me and Good NIght together. Its almost one song for me lol.
Fun fact: On a Korean TV show "Open Concert" in dedication to police force in Korea for National Police Day, DC performed "Chase Me"...passively/aggressively mocked auditorium full of police... Became instant meme among Korean fans at that time... Link below (I'm sure you won't be able to read Korean, but jist of it... DC teasing police ~ "Chase Me" Legendary!!! th-cam.com/video/uSjAFSbJZe4/w-d-xo.htmlsi=zcY28kITKSWxC10e
This is the best explanation ive ever seen about the storyline 👏🏾
Also the album name that Fly High is from is literally called 'Prequel'
My high-level interpretation of the MVs
Chase Me - The members are Nightmares, having been cursed by the events in Fly High.
Wow that's some crazy attention to detail. That's actually amazing.
You did such a great job catching all of the story points! Much better than my first time through! Don't forget about Yoohyeon and the spider going into the next few!
Thanks for the tip!!!
Happy Dreamcatcher 7th Anniversary!
20:47 Sua rapping for Dreamcatcher for the 1st time. (Yeah)
8:00 That’s a very good question, the answer can be found in the promotional teaser for Full Moon…
SuA: Fear of being restrained/tied up
In Good Night MV, her being restrained by tree roots because of the spell from the occult book cast by the ghost hunter.
Siyeon: Fear of being trapped in small places or Claustrophobia
Nothing yet in the MVs you watched in this video but in an upcoming MV
Handong: Fear of being watched/stared at or Scopophobia
Agressive staring in Chase MV right before the first chorus. In Good Night MV, watching the ghost hunter through the mirror, then later all the eyes in the room watching him.
Yoohyeon: Fear of being lost in an unknown place.
For now, in Good Night MV, Yoohyeon with Siyeon running around disoriented in the forest, more evidence in upcoming MVs
Dami: Fear of getting hurt/scars or Oulinophobia/Agliophobia
In Chase Me, the seance scene where it switches between her and a voodoo doll in a seance circle.
Two things about the next one, You and I: Get the MV from the Happyface channel, that one has subs. And also, there are definitely no spiders in that one. None at all.
DREAMCATCHER CHASE ME:
The guy checks into room 808.
We can say that Yoohyeon IS the main character in the nightmare series BC she was the one Who started It burning that Spider ❤
fun fact: fly high was filmed in france! the scenes where we see the cliff are filmed in Etretat, Normandie and the castle is the Chateau de Janvry, Ile de France.
as a french somnia i was very happy when i first learned this
The mini album that Fly High released on is titled Prequel so we get to see a bit of where it started.
Baby Gahyeon in FLY HIGH is do adorable. The attention to detail, the storyline, the writing, the aesthetic, everything is just perfect. THIS IS ART! A cinematic experience. This is what I want from the music industry.
"I want this cloak"
Well you can buy it! Its literally merch 😂
She is the Symbol of Courage ⚔,
She is the Symbol of Strength 💪 ,
She is the Symbol of Heart ♥,
She is the Symbol of the Dreamcatcher ✨.

fly high is one of my favorite dc mv's ever, the moment i got really into the lore i went back and rewatched it like a bajillion times trying to catch all the little details and going "oh! OHHHH!!!" over and over again lmao
sameeee lol, especially this scene 36:26
Fly High is off their 1st mini album 'Prequel' and is taken as the beginning of the series. Though not shown directly "The Book" can be seen within the music video, Dami reading in one scene, and SuA holding in scene with Siyeon when they are in robes. The Nightmare series is cool cause it can be interpreted in different ways with the order of the MV's shifted around. The camera distortion is to show the spider's view.
👍👍
The post credit piano music at the end of Chase Me is the beginning intro part of Good Night, another clever easter egg 🙂
The touching of the room number plates is them changing all the room numbers to 808 to hide their room 808 from him.
Ohhh we missed that detail!
FYI, they do sell those robes if you are looking to buy one.
You two are so fun to watch. Great analyzing skills too. I'm so glad you're doing the Nightmare series. Woohoo!
Thank you!!
36:30 indeed, if there was any doubts just refer to the first line of the song “Let’s get it started”.
happy 7th anniversary, dreamcatcher!

Edit: I hit enter too soon on the comment, but yeah, you’ll see the spider again in You and I. ;) Chase Me is my favorite of the 3.
Their first fan song Full Moon had a mini MV. It was suggested that the boy grows up to be the hunter in Chase Me and that Gahyeon is the little girl casting the spell.
Yoohyeon is changing the room numbers, so they are all 808.
The robes, their outfits designs were actually based on “kimono”, a japanese garment, and the way of wearing, where the left side covering the right side, is actually way of wearing for dead people
Btw love the reactionss, hope to see more Dreamcatcher reaction videoss👍👍
Dreamcatcher are ghosts lore???💀
@@c4itlinchillin more like paranormal or supernatural events that is known as “Nightmares”
I genuinely had not noticed this before but in the Good Night MV those robes they are wearing at the end are the one they released with their light stick. It was my first time noticing as well, I was so surprised😅
So you can have it if you want, It's DC Merch😄
The fact that those are official merch... 🔥
It's called Red Sun and was choreographed by Sua ❤
(I know you won't get to it all that soon because it's a b-side and part of the dystopian-era but I wanted to mention it anyway so you at least have heard of it already! ^-^)
Thank you ❤️❤️
I miss this kind of storytelling in DC music videos
The question is how is Yoohyeon burning the Spider when she doesn't have the sun behind her.
She’s doing A science 😆
@@melanogaster123 😂😂
As for the details of what _exactly_ is happening in the story in the music videos, people have all sorts of theories including some that people commonly parrot that I think might be far-fetched, but none of it has been confirmed and will never be confirmed, but that's part of the fun 😅
And dreamcatchers as they're called in English I believe originally in Native American cultures weren't meant to catch bad _dreams_ necessarily, but just all sorts of bad energies, including curses or ill will from others. Inspired by the spider web, which is what the Native American names for dreamcatchers refer to, except instead of flies and such it's supposed to catch any evil floating in the air.
In that sense Dreamcatcher, the group, wants to protect us from all bad things in the world; whether that's depression and nightmarish situations, or bullying (Dystopia trilogy), or ourselves as we destroy the planet (Apocalypse trilogy) 😊
(And if the spiders and their webs are supposed to protect us, that is of course why most InSomnia theorise that burning the spider was maybe not a good idea; and immediately after, the butterflies also burn, like something beautiful or innocent is disappearing from the world).
(oops I meant to write a short comment because I figured you had already gotten so much info haha)
Man was just doing his job, was caught off guard and ended up being played by Deukae 😭😭😭 Savage gals indeed 😭
The ending of the MVs is just so spooky, terrifying how happy the nightmares are about finally being free to wonder around and literally torment anyone they want.
CHASE ME 🏃🏻♀️💨💨
Also „Chase me” as a diss to k-pop industry and invitation to people from around the world to love them.
22:36 You can have it, they sell it in the DC official store🤣
We RAN to find it. It looks like it's currently sold out... but we're going to keep looking 🤣
there are many theories on how the story goes. but the most accepted one is Fly High is the beginning, yes, when Jiu caught that Spider which was the Queen Spider.
HAPPY 7TH ANNIVERSARY DREAMCATCHER 🫶🏽🫶🏽🫶🏽🫶🏽🫶🏽
I'm not sure if you know but each of the girls in dreamcatcher represent a nightmare and sometimes you can see them behave/be in their nightmares in mvs (rose blue and chase me are the only ones I can think of)
Jiu - the fear of being followed or chased - in the chase me mv you can see her following Jo dong hyuk
sua - the fear of being restrained or unable to move/some say sleep paralysis - I can't find a direct connection to her nightmare in this mv but in the rose blue mv she was chained up in an empty room
siyeon - claustrophobia - siyeon holds the door from the outside so he's locked in the room
handong - scopophobia (the fear of being watched) - she was watching jo dong hyuk from the windows
yoohyeon - the fear of being lost in an unknown place - she was the one messing with the room numbers so all of the rooms had the number 808
dami - the fear of extreme physical pain - It could've been her that gave him the headache and nosebleed in the beginning of the song but her nightmare isn't shown that directly in either of the mvs. I might be missing something.
gahyeon - the fear of falling from high places - she knocks down the books in his room
Fact: Siyeon cried the first time they watched Fly high, theres a video about It
Ofc you can’t tell from the MV but Good Night has one of the best choreo from all their title tracks, imo. 💕
i recently wanted to get into dreamcatcher as well and the fact that you both are my favourite reactors, i will follow along with you guys instead! it feels like catching up together with a friend and i am not going to be alone on this journey
🥺🥺 we love you so much!!! Thank you for watching alongside us as friends 🫶🫂
Ah. The Nightmare Arc. Such a unique concept. Each member represented a different fear.
JiU: The fear of being chased by someone
SuA: The fear of being tied up/confined
Sieyeon: The fear of enclosed spaces
Handong: The fear of people staring/watching you
Yoohyeon: The fear of being lost in an unknown place
Dami: The fear of being hurt/blood/scars
Gahyeon: The fear of falling
They all made stuff happen in Chase Me.
So excited to watch this journey with you!
Can't wait for the b sides too
Love to see you reacting to their debut and the nightmare series. It was such a great era, it brings back so many memories from that time. 😊 I'll be looking forward to more of your reactions to Dreamcatcher.
These songs and videos were so good!! Fly high is my favorite. I'm excited and a little scared for what's coming lol
We are too 😆😆
You can call her a idol , but she is more .
Leave it to Yoohyeon to cause all the problems 😅
🤣🤣🤣
Out of these 3 songs, my fav is Good Night
Unfortunately there is no definitive plot in the nightmare series cuz neither DCC nor members confirmed anything. Hence, even almost 4 years after the nightmare series ended, we are still guessing😅. For me, the best theory that explained the whole story line is Dreamcatcher nightmare storyline explained video by sua’s sinb. Please consider checking it out after finishing the series 😊
Thank you for all of your Dreamcatcher reactions 💖
Can't wait for your reaction to the albums ❤ and special clips and self-made MV's
These Nightmare series such a banger.. I always listened this while in the gym 🔥🔥🔥
I’m so excited to watch this finally 😭
It's funny how every time someone watch the nightmare series for the first time, they automatically root for the girls, even though they are the villains, the actual nighmares, in the story (at least for the first couple of videos). In fact each member throughout the series represented a different nightmare, as it was portrayed in the scetches the ghost-hunter was reading. The poor ghost-hunter that everyone despises until they realise he is the actual victim in the end of "Good Night".😆
We're Team Villain here 🤣🤣 that poor guy never stood a chance haha
Girls you're amazing analyzing and interpretating the lore, one of the best i ever see
This means so much, thank you 🥰
First and foremost, most of the details about the story have been purposefully left vague.
**end Chase Me, begin Good Night**
*After gaining access to room 808 the PI discovers Dami's books.
*While paging through the book he triggers Gahyeon's and SuA's nightmares. (note: In case you didn't know or have forgotten, each member has a representative nightmare, much like most groups have a representative animal)
*Dami reaches through the mirror and retrieves her books.
(As I'm sure the comments have explained already haha)
Fun Fact: If you'd like to see something scary in the MV that you might not have picked up the first time, the scene where Handong throws the paper plane out the window, if you look towards the bottom of the windows, you can see two members standing there staring at the camera.
Timestamp on the MV would be 1:29.
But I can't wait for the next parts, thank you both for all your efforts, respect and love!
Happy birthday Queens!!!! And thanks for this video!!!!🎉

Arc 1 is the Origin:
Fly High (The girls get cursed into Nightmares by the Spider Queen due to Yoohyeon's actions)
Chase Me (The girls mess with the Nightmare Hunter)
Good Night (The Nightmare Hunter captures half of the girls, but the girls ultimately escape with the Nightmare book that caught them, but lose it after escaping the Hunter.)
so good~

i srsly always, always amazed by yall brains bcuz of how you guys managed to catch the details and understand the meaning and the story of the mv really quick and pretty much spot on too like wow spare me some brain cells too 😂
anyway i super enjoy watching your reaction and analysis, and so excited to watch yall reacting to the next mvs.. and the dance practice too 🤩❤
LETS GO IT’S NIGHTMARE TIME
🔥🔥🔥
After finishing the nightmare series I would recommend watching a lore video to catch all the details in the story because it's so cool! There's a video called dreamcatcher nightmare story explained by Sua's sinb. Also add in breaking out since it's the alternate ending. Fly high is the title of the prequel album so yes it's the story of how they became nightmares
Just Remember… its always Yoohyeons fault😂😂❤❤❤

DREAMCATCHER FLY HIGH MEANING:
The girls were once happy and cheerful girls, shown in the very sunny and bright lighting at the start of the video.
Pls continue… I’m enjoying this 😊

Became instant meme among Korean fans at that time... Link below (I'm sure you won't be able to read Korean, but jist of it... DC teasing police ~ "Chase Me"
