16:38 This idea of pressure testing is actually very useful as it shows how even the best of GPUs can be undermined simply by not having proper contact between the die and heatsink. I don't have any GPU which has such a large shroud that it actually sags/bends but I can't imagine how manufacturers let such defects slide without even considering how much this would affect the safety and performance of the GPU.
In this case they are calling it sakura so it is less cringe. If they were more pushing for waifu - it would be hella cringe. Just cut the waifu out of the shroud, replace with sakura tree or nothing at all - still a very nice looking card that is unique in its design.

I am curious, if this art is original or licensed one. I know couple really talented Chinese anime/manga artists, so it could be original. It looks good, but I would buy licenced card with some recognisable characters.
@@mrlolas5114 Why would that be a contradiction? I think both subjectively and objectively, and thusly was just clarifying I think that mine is a universal and reality-based opinion.
Aww. That's so cute. I'd buy a card like that. I like that they are trying to stand out. Sakura being written on it makes me want a Cardcaptor Sakura themed card.
YES! Thank you GN for this review! I actually bought the 6800 & it shipped out earlier this week. This card looks so much better than the photos on the website. I love this GPU & not ashamed to admit it.
How does it smell now that it is in a case and getting warm and having airflow? I imagine the room started to smell quite good. It shouldn't be that strong smelling once it is dissipated around a large room by all the PC fans. I would also buy a card like this, but then again I'm a bit of a weeb so... The colour palette looks really nice and gentle on the eye.
@@matasa7463 It took 2 weeks to ship from China (Aliexpress). The card barely have any fragrance out of the box. It's definitely not noticeable once inside a case with 9 fans (Lian Li O11 Dynamic & Unifans). Overall, this GPU is very pretty & makes the weeb in me very happy as well. Unfortunately, it is also way overpriced for a RX 6800.
Yeston have a great idea... Make a card that looks and smells so "girly" that no miner will dare buy it. (Imagine the smell of a whole room full of them!) @Ryzen Division what if we remove waifu from the backplate and insert a sakura tree or something similar. Would you be interested in that design? Oh yeah, perfume should go too.
@@JIAroJIy4 I think they meant it as in there are 3rd party sellers that make custom backplates, last years review had me looking, truth be told this companies design of a waifu is still better than what most offer on their backplates and at no additional charge.
I really wish more partner cards looked unique like these, if you sat a row of ASUS, Zotac, ASRock, MSI and Sapphire cards down you'd be hard pressed to really be able to tell a difference between any of them. I am genuinely impressed by Yeston's design team, and am really happy to see they're working on expanding beyond the 'waifu' line.
They definitely should, they have great ideas - while Cute Pet RX 580 was kinda bizarre but it had its charm. Would definitely like to see if they make another animal design or pick completely different theme.
I can't help but think of the card saying the "do you want a bath? or dinner?" meme/trope. Steve, that was naughty.. taking her coverings off like that.
I'm surprised you didn't mention that even the thermal pads matched the card's purple color theme (rather than the more common turquoise/light-blue/black ones 11:51). That's some really pleasantly surprising attention to small details, I'm honestly impressed!
It's amazing that Yeston can make like a super niche product and outperform an older company such as XFX. Not trying to throw fuel at charcoals to get it going again but just stating a fact. These cards would be great for ladies and those who want this
Not completely sure as to what you mean by, "great for ladies and those who want this", since I wasn't aware that appreciation for color and visual flair isn't exactly exclusive to any one specific gender. But, either way, I do agree that it's nice to see Yeston performing well and I hope they do well in the Western markets.
I am MIND BLOWN you got one of these. This Yeston RX6000 is my dream card. I was only able to find preorders on ebay for over $2,000! Thank you so much for this video, I just wish i could have gotten my hands on this LOL. Super jealous!
I love how this is one of the few products out there that are genuinely refreshing and different from everything else. Even for non-weebs as I imagine most GN viewers are. Edit: I don't recognize the girl on the backplate, but I see a lot of potential in partnerships with gacha game companies such as Yostar and MicaTeam. Like, gacha game players tend to be total _whales_ who spend (sometimes hundreds) of dollars on .pngs of anime women. Getting a GPU with their... favored anime girl on it for an extra fee would be a relatively good purchase compared to that, since you get something you can use.
The colour-scheme is actually quite pleasing. I would not hesitate at all, to put this card into a white case like e.g. the NZXT 710 or DeepCool 310, if only the backplate had a more abstract painting on it. Or maybe they had packed a spare backplate painted more neutral or themed differently. For the fan side of the card: This is probably exactly how the card would look in most of the cases anyways, if it was fully white and lit by RGB-LEDs! On a second thought: With the supply-problem these days I would probably buy it with just these looks and never think of it again except when I open up my PC once a year to dust-clean it.
My daughter(13 y/o) just walked past while I was watching this review... For context we are slowly building her a computer Daughter : OMG that is so cute, can I have that in my PC. Me : Sadly probably not due to shortages etc. Side note I think if they go down this route with not only these waifu but other styles too. They can really tap into a niche market that doesn't really appear to have had much interest in it by the manufacturers.
I really like coverage of small / unknown brands, it's nice to know that unknown doesn't always equal bad. Be it coolers, components or cases it's a refreshing take on whats out there.
If it has customizable prints for your own favorite waifu, this might just be a massive hit. For all the weebs out there trying to make their cases look more weeb.
If they could take custom order prints on the backplate, then holy balls it would be amazing. Like offer various front shroud designs and a printable backplate for any .PNG of your choice. I could make a custom Vtuber GPU or something...\ Yeston, get on that!
You are not alone. Yet people commenting are mostly taking about anime inspiration. When it's the actual design that is good in terms of color composition and theme. If anime character wasn't there - I would actually want to buy it despite having 5700 XT in my system.
@@noodle4796 honestly, yes. But your average consumer won't try to resolve that style problem himself. And honestly - he shouldn't. This is why I'm pushing idea that Yeston should do designs reminding me of H.I.S. videocards, like IceQ line. Or just go deeper with floral/nature/animal design. Not everybody wants anime (even if it's not part of a franchise) in their PC or even rooms, even if they have appreciation for the media itself. P.S. i would've considered buying it if shroud was changed. But even then prices right now are still way too restrictive, for me at least.
there should be much more cards like this with other game-themes. totally fun and cool. there is no cringe here - its just your inner fear and x-phobia!
Steve slaps the front of the card but its where the drawn characters butt would typically be, and even emphasizes the word "but" and I know it was probably totally unintentional but I laughed for a solid minute after realizing that fact.
I'mma be honest chief, I genuinely love the front shroud and heatsink design. couldn't give a Rat's backside about the back-plate but more creative design that doesn't scream "gamer" is massively appreciated especially in the current market
Don't forget back in the day H.I.S. made AMD cards better than literally everyone else even AMD and they were all themed gold and blue. And half of those were honey comb patterns on it. I still have one that works to this day I just dont wanna throw it away.
There's so many GPU brands that you've never heard of, but better design than a lot of the global brands that don't make their own products... This applies to many fields as well, for example there are many legit psu companies in china but foreigners can't tell them apart from the shitty scam ones so...
@@christopherfortineux6937 thank you, thank you so much for bringing up HIS with their designs (although I mostly remember their IceQ design).
