  • For the first time we're introducing professional grade WiFi antennas for the home user. Sectorial antennas are the perfect mix between long range and high coverage due to their intricate and ingenious design. By combing a series of smaller directional WiFi antennas into a signal housing, sectorials can provide miles of coverage with a wide radiation pattern. How wide? Choose between 45°, 90°, 120° and 180° with a combination of varying dBi ratings.

    Do you use sectorial antennas for collecting/receiving internet signal from towers a couple of miles away? we are rural and using a Netgear m1100 (like a big hotspot) I want to collect, receive or grab the signal that I can then project inside our house, then out to our property for cameras over 8 acre rectangle poperty.

      It depends on line of sight and power at the base station. It is possible if the right scenario is in place.

    Incoming wifi signals may be vertical or horizontally polarized. Having an antenna mounted with incorrect polarity will result in high signal loss. Can this antenna be mounted H or V? I always try both ways with my 15 dbi yagi and use what works best.

    can this antenna be used in RV/motorhome to connect to nearby free wifi in a bar? I guess it would be easier to catch a signal than directional antennas and more reach than omnidirectional so it would be much more useful for people moving around in RV when we stop in different places and try to catch a signal. Directional antennas dont have so wide angle wich makes it difficult when changing places often and every time trying to mount antenna in right position to get right signal.

    How do you determine downtilt angle? SO if you do four 90 degree antennas... how do you bring all 4 of those signals into one router so it's all on same network?

    • @SimpleWiFi
      @SimpleWiFi  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      For the downtilt we typically just point in the general direction we want coverage and go test with analyzers. It's pretty forgiving...
      Not sure what you mean about bringing all 4 signals, are you talking about a sector antenna with 4 cable ports? If so, then you'll need a router with 4 ports. But if your looking at that kind of sector you should be using some MIMO dual band access points instead of a router. Each band will have 2 ports.
      Otherwise a single port sector like the one in the video will go direct into one antenna port on a router or USB adapter.

      @SimpleWiFi  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes, you are very right. As an RF engineer I know this well - however the theoretical concepts of RF propagation are so complex that I must resort to this kind of language in order to keep my audience engaged and understanding the concept at hand. Thx for your input.

    • @SimpleWiFi
      @SimpleWiFi  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Your welcome! how far away are you trying to reach? Do you have a lot of obstructions? Usually the biggest problem with the 24dBi (aside from a line of sight) is aiming the antenna. It is so directional that if you are off a few degrees left or right of the hotspot source then you won't see anything at all. It's just 7-8° wide.

    • @TexCynRVLife
      @TexCynRVLife 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      I finally got connected! Yes, too many obstructions, taller RV's, lots of trees, etc...but I turned the antenna until I got the right spot! Thanks for replying back. How good are the omni directional antennas? If I take the motorhome out on trips, the parabolic is definitely not traveling due to size & set up.
      I would need something of a smaller size to stow inside of the RV. Or wrap around my ladder.

    • @SimpleWiFi
      @SimpleWiFi  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Nice.... glad it worked out for you.
      Omni's are great too but just not as far reaching. We are currently developing a solution specifically for RV's which will mount to the top of the RV just 8-10" high to keep clearance.
      But if you want distance without size then you should use a 14dBi panel like this one: www.simplewifi.com/panel-long-range-wifi-hotspot-kit.html

    I want to cast(stream) video signal in 30km via Wi-Fi (coverage). and I want to buy 20 sets of that. do you have any product item and technical support for my requirement ???

      Each sector will require a 50 tower, high power radios, cable, antennas, direct power, etc... each "set" will cost at least $150-$250k USD. Multiply by that by 20.
