    What a surprise! Watch the video until ending. None of methods was working until it hits the last portion of video with "service port" which fixed the problem. Thanks for detail instruction with many methods.

    FIVE STARS! This is the type of support needed meaning we need several (5) options to try. The only one that worked for me was using the IP address. It takes about 10 seconds longer for the printer to connect with the job, but whatever. Nothing else could connect the two. HP support sucks. They offer nothing free except paid support - their online solutions don't work at all. With all the problems of their products, I would never buy HP again. I will find better working hardware and software. Don't have the time for such troubleshooting. You made it awesome and easy - keep up the great work!

    I can't believe the problem was solved just by setting the printer as the Default printer, this is the second solution that worked with me. I couldn't apply the first solution since I received the message "This Operation is no Supported" . Thank you very much

    Cool. The first solution worked. I can't stand the fact that printers don't have cables. Only having wi-fi makes it inferior. My old printer had wi-fi, a cables, usb port and also memory card. This is devolution.

    Thank for this. It makes sense. Unfortunately, when I get to the part to tap "Configure Port" an error appears - it says "an error occurred during port configuration This operation is not supported." I'm using Windows 10 on my laptop. I will keep searching. Thanks!

    Ahhhh TechFixIT - thanks so much! Been pulling out my hair. I'm using a work laptop so restricted in what I can and cannot do via the Control Panel - removing and reinstalling the printer did the trick!

    Same happened to me. I went into settings removed the printer then added again. Made sure Offline was Unchecked. It fixed the problem... for now :-)

    You are my god. Thank you, thank you, thank you! I have struggled with this problem many times over the past couple of years. Agonized so many times attempting to "virtual chat" with HP idiots. I have tried several of your solutions (from other sources) but never new about the one entering the IP address. It worked!!! Of course you knew it would. I'm an older computer user (75) and while I can follow instructions, many times what is shown is not the same as what is on my screen. Very frustrating. You are wonderful and a true life-saver!

    Good presentation, even though my problem was not at all solved. hp Deskjet2710 really is pissing me off, 3 weeks old, chews up paper and now can't even scan due to loss of comms, what a heap of junk.

    My computer said that task was not supported. (Configure Port). This is the printer they will not let you hardwire to computer and it is the default. This printer hibernates and now it will not come out of if after reinstalling it.

    I have an error where it says that my printer its not available or there was problem with installation but everything its working its connected its ready and even installation went good because I was using it for about half and year now.

    For most people the problem seems to be in the printer itself, since rebooting the printer always fixes the problem. So any of these solutions are useless.

    Shows offline when printing using WiFi Direct. Works fine when connected to the laptop.

    my hp printer goes offline itself. few minutes after online, it becomes offline. very annoying.
