Really enjoying your full commentary and explanation on how to do all these jobs which look great by the way myself and a friend have just purchased a D2 for a shoot vehicle could you tell me do you mainly do these sorts of jobs in the summer months it’s probably a daft question to you but I myself am not mechanically minded however am a good learner when actually seeing how it’s done and your explanations are very helpful many thanks keep em coming. Thanks bob! To be honest I just do the jobs as and when they need doing. I’m restricted to the weather and try not to do big jobs in winter when it’s cold and wet all the time but I’m planning some work soon so I’ll be getting cold! I’m not a mechanic I just got tired of paying people to do poor jobs so I decided to learn to do it myself better and because it’s my own vehicle I do extras like painting etc. my advice is get the right tools for the jobs it makes things so much easier. And follow torque recommendations, I snapped a few bolts in the beginning and it was a nightmare getting them out
So I've been putting normal gear oil in my Hubs for the last 20 years. They've always leaked a little and wanted to do these seals. BUT I see how much thicker your grease is inside of yours. Maybe I should switch to the correct hub grease?! Disco on brotha! Coming together nicely!
Thanks kris, yeah if you use the one shot grease instead of ep90 it’s less likely to leak and I think the grease is better for the cv joint. Really easy to do just drain the oil out an replace with grease.
BTW @@TheNorthernExplorer, do you know if it's possible to replace the axle seal without removing the axle from the swivel? I really didn't want to dismantle the whole hub do to it... Great job mate, love your vids!
Looking good Dan.👍
Have it all back together in no time.
Thanks Neil! Hopefully not long now
Nice work Dan! The landy will be back together in no time.
Thank you! I hope so!

@@joaogrosso1117 thanks mate! Which seal do you mean? The one on the back of the hub or in the swivel?
I'm currently re doing my hubseals and having to try and remove a welded bearing from my stub 🥴😂
Oh no! Is it worth just replacing the stub? The bearing could have damaged the stub anyway
@TheNorthernExplorer isn't looking too bad carefully cut the old bearing off
@@Thatredneck that’s lucky!
