These men did important work in restoring the dignity of black people after slavery. I can only imagine the sufferation people felt after being abused for so long. Look at Brand Jamaica capitalising on the very people who were persecuted for so long.

Jah Rastafari from a White brother in Detroit. This is a terrific 23 minute primer on Rastafari, much appreciated. Let's end all this war & strife worldwide and the destructive mentality. Though we are a diverse peoples, diversity isn't our strength. UNITY is our strength! UNITY! UNITY! UNITY! Black & White Unite! No matter your skin complexion or hair texture, we are all created in the image of God. No one is to be enslaved and no one is to be the enslaver! Jah Rastafari! God bless all my family worldwide!

Very educational. I uncle used to say it was a man from society who formed Rasta.
    He didn't know his name.

It’s about Blacks being Jews which is true but I feel like Rasta co-opted this facts and mislead the people into worshiping a man as god although he was an Israelite of Judah

All the foundation founders had no locks and that's a fact.

This is true. Many followers had beards and were known as beard men or bearded men but the founders didn't have locs. Later groups and followers had locs and beards.

Reggae is JAMAICA's music, developed by its musicians and producers! The ethnic Chinese community were an integral player, in the development of the genre .So, stop your nonsense!
Rasta is appropriating the genre, the same way the homosexual community is appropriating the term 'Gay', which means happy), as its own!

You are largely mistaken, Rastafari is not a hairstyle, Rastafari is the following of Emperor Hile Selassie as God king. Dreadlocks is just a style that was borrowed from the Maw Maw's of Tanzania for their bravery and resilience against colonial oppression, and the Gurus of the Hindu Himalayas who were credited for bringing marijuana to Jamaica. As a matter of fact, some of Howells teachings were taught to him by an Indian Guru who gave him the name Gong-Gulia.
Dreadlocks is not Rasta, dreadlocks is part of Rasta. There were a lot of Rastas who did not wear dreadlocks, however the hair is just a clear identity that one has crossed over to the side of righteousness and is willing to carry the burden of oppression and shame.
I know that most people don't understand this, but this is what the true meaning of Rastafari and locks is.

Nonsense. How can Reggae music, developed by Jamaican musicians, across the board, (including people like Byron Lee, and even - as you stated - record producer, Edward Seaga), be seen as a threat to Jamaica's domestic stability, or national security ?!
Seaga himself became Prime Minister, of Jamaica. Michael Manley used the genre in his 1972 election campaign, to carry his message. In fact BOTH parties used Reggae singers in their campaigns! So Reggae was NOT seen as a threat to Jamaica, but as part of its tapestry!
By the way, Reggae music was seen as 'the music of Babylon, and 'devil music', by devote Rastafarians. Rasta nuh mix up with 'Babylon', was how they looked at the genre.
    Get your facts straight!

A lot of research went into both videos and despite what Brand Jamaica has done to link reggae and Rasta to the brand, back in the 60s, neither was loved. Yes, politicians linked themselves to reggae after it took off. People remember that but should never forget Coral Gardens! Books have been linked in the video description, but if you aren't up to a long read, have a quick read of this thekeep.eiu.edu/cgi/viewcontent.cgi?article=1014&context=commstudies_fac. Thanks for watching. Have a great day!
