    I compared these two mixers in a club on a Funktion One sound system. Despite the fact that Allen & Heath XONE 96 has excellent sound characteristics, Ecler WARM2 produced a more detailed sound picture in all frequencies, very clean & punchy. Definitely the best rotary mixer in it’s price range. Good comeback for Ecler.

      Not sure how you came to this conclusion, I have an Xone 96 & just bought an Ecler Warm 2 & would say it’s the complete opposite, Xone 96 bass is so much tighter, more controlled & punchy & overall has a lot more transparency & detail, Ecler bass sounds horrible by comparison, it’s sounds muddy & distorted, even worse in the mix, it’s night & day, the Ecler hasn’t impressed me at all, you get what you pay for, 9 times out of 10….

      @@djdeejdjay8669 I made the video so I have access to the raw Wav files used to record the test. That is what I base my verdict on, and it is audible even in the TH-cam version. Also, the video is uploaded in Prores - there literally isn't a way to upload in higher quality to TH-cam. Not much I can do for how TH-cam chooses to transcode that for streaming however. If that's not good enough quality for you I'm afraid you need to stop using the internet for audio and video needs altogether.

      Yeah, there's no way the Warm2 will replace my 96 - but that isn't the reason I got it. The form factor is fun and it brings something else to the table and I see myself bringing this along to smaller parties where a 96 is too bulky, and just for the fun factor. It's a great option for someone wanting to dip their feet in rotary on a budget.

    For more than half of the price Ecler did a good job, but if u screw them both open u will see that Ecler didn't use top components rather more budget components, and that will show up after a couple of years. The xone 96 sounds better in my opinion and is very well build with good components witch will stand the test of time.

    A&H has a flabby bass compared to the Ecler, which is tighter and more defined The highs are fizzier on the A&H. I would say the Ecler has a cleaner, precise mid range with more depth but all things considered, the Xone96 compares admirably. Xone96 is a powerhouse built to serve a variety of different needs and the compromise in sound is small.

      @midclock หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@riod2020 I'm commenting the video, as most of the people here.
      Edit: I listened to the comparison again, the differences are minimal .. I guess that by *in person" you mean listening to the difference being right there, in front of two speakers.
      Well in my opinion you're adding another variable into the game: your speakers and how they're amplified.
      Using earphones that factor is excluded.
      The only way I'm aware of is to make a measurement, instead of giving a personal opinion depending on too many factors.
      The audio from one, or the other mixer can be reversed in phase, then summed to the other mixer recording: what's left are the differences between the two mixers, where a flat line (no signal) equals to no differences.
      The point is the following: even if there's a tiny-iny difference, am I going to use all the features of the allen & heat, or miss it's EQ character?
      If the answer is "no", then choose the Ecler, as nobody, you included would probably hear any difference.
      .
      The only test to do is the one mentioned before...if they're equal, we can stop the discussion.
      I used to do these things, search for the best sounding mixer, etc etc.
      I've changed my mind now, DJing is about selection, technique.
      Leave the audio setup to professionals that can take decisions without being biased.

    this is a bad test since you are testing the phono preamps this way. you should play something on the line input. phono preamps have the RIAA corrector which EQs the sound from the vinyl and can greatly differ from manufacturer to manufacturer. that said, listening in studio setting with highend dynaudio speakers, the only noticeable difference is that the xone has wider stereo separation and a little bit more bass, but in this instance we dont know if its the mixer sound or the RIAA corrector sound....

    • @valdemar_sound
      @valdemar_sound  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      It is specifically a vinyl test - the RIAA curve is part of what makes mixers sound different from each other. Usually that's where the biggest differences are so that's why I felt it was more interesting to test. But yes, if you are only playing digital files, the video might not be all that relevant for you.

I've since switched to an old Stanton 680 with an aftermarket Jico stylus (which apparently aren't even as good as the originals) and it's almost indiscernible except for the highest highs having just a tiny bit less sparkle, but you wouldn't hear this on any club system anyway.

The rec output broke some years ago, but apart from that it works perfectly still. And it's seen a lot of action. @@Dee.J.Mogfry "The 96 build quality is crap...the one I had had different levels on each channel and the left and right volumes didn't match on each channel either.....there's a video on YT about it as well."
      Maybe you had a lemon. The Condesas seem to commonly measure with about several times the distortion + noise to a Xone 96. Analog Xones tend to have fairly tight tolerances on channel matching, too, though their phono preamps have historically been high capacitance, ostensibly to 'warm' the sound, but more likely for noise rejection purposes. Higher capacitance, though, shouldn't necessarily influence even something like phono cartridge channel balance, rather more commonly the filter effect roll off with the cart''s inherent inductance and maybe a little electrical resonance effect.

      @Reticuli it was a lemon for sure....I rang up A&H and questioned them about this and they seemed put out by what I said and told me their QC has never been better...lololololol....BS! The A&H mixers made in the UK are known to be better sounding and better build...it is fact that when stuff is moved over to China for production, equipment has cheaper and not as well matched components put in and less testing the moment you walk out of the door...
      I know how this industry works....that's why in house production is the best, and that goes for most industries as well and not just hifi.

      @@Dee.J.Mogfry Funny how that's the case for electronics but not for athletic shoes. China has some crazy advanced shoe making capabilities. Even New Balance here in the states admitted the USA couldn't make shoes as well as China can... and not just the quasi slave labor aspect, but the equipment they've developed there.

    How do you like the RP7000 MK2?

      I think they are great, generally. Still think old school (MK2-5) Technics have the edge though.

      @@conorw1989 I have owned the RP7000 MK2 twice in recent times and for the price point and the fact that it can be purchased new is a very decent turntable for DJing once it's paired with decent carts. I would buy them over used/over priced Technics any day.

    ecler sounds more "wet" i would say. xone is more punchy. overall sound quality in this vid is pretty low so its hard to compare like this

      still cant understand is it video sound quality or they really sound pretty much the same. xone is noticeably better but the difference is not that big
