I feel as privileged watching this video, as you had spending time with Jerry. He (as well as you from MossPawn&gun) are such a positive addition to the firearms community. Thanks for all you do! Looking forward to more videos to come. Stay safe
This is what is called "no wasted movements". Turning yourself into a machine! This also applies itself to any other time in life you have to get something done as fast as possible. Every movement has a purpose or it is discarded
Great instructional video. The tip on picking up the pistol seems so natural and simple yet I'll bet a bunch of us would not have thought of it. Thanks guys.
He's a master! I'm an Englishman so we don't have handguns, still enjoy shooting cans with the air pistols but would love to visit your state for some shooting. Many gun-nuts in England and Germany/etc. Obviously we have shotguns and rifles but America is where it's at. Deus Vult!
Outstanding video guys! You both did a great job shooting your first 3 gun style stage. Jerry thank you so much for sharing some wisdom. As a 3 gun and USPSA competitor I really appreciate the time saving tips. Please share some more in the future sir.
I feel really dumb... When I first read the title, I read it as that there were going to be three individual tips, for guns in general... Then I realized, it was multiple tips, for 3 gun shooting.
What stands out most about Jerry is his manner of speaking; very concise and with minimal verbiage (just like he shoots). I also appreciate the fact that his reverence for safety is paramount irrespective of how comfortable he is with firearms. What an excellent ambassador to the shooting sports.
when Jerry speak's, I listen up, other shooter's, take with a grain of salt. Jerry is the only guy I would take shooting instructions from, he is a legend, I have always considered him the best.
Long comment I know, Im sorry. I had my first 3 gun match the other day and I noticed that as well, how on the first stage i was super nervous. Shotgun and rifle went fine but one part of the stage you had to shoot pistol one handed while carrying an ammo can that had your rifle ammo in it and i was so shaky because i was nervous that I kept missing. i had to shoot until I hit each steel twice so that segment of the stage cost me the most time (i wasn't concerned about times of course being a first time 3 gunner) but i did notice that by the second stage i was feeling much more relaxed and confident and by the 3rd stage i was kicking butt. I finished 33rd out of 35 shooters. Now keep in mind i had only had two sessions out at the range preparing before this. I've shot guns here and there before this but it had been at least 2 years since i had been out shooting targets. I was full totally expecting to be dead last because I knew I was the slowest, but I only had one miss in all 4 stages and that was on a clay which i didn't bother me because i hadn't had much practice with clays or moving targets in general. So I'm super pumped about that. All in all i really enjoyed it, I had so much fun and everyone there was so encouraging and helpful. And that's why I'm here lol. Right now I'm just doing it for fun, but i think this may be something that want to pursue competitively in the future so i am trying to get as much knowledge and tips as I can. Remember I'm a newbie to the sport so be nice lol.
Nice to see Jerry spin the AK off to a safe Direction in eErics first try, Although he cleared it .. Shows how Jerry is ALWAYS paying attention to SAFETY. Great vid Just found it running the archives.. # 9
It's very cool that your having more videos with Jerry for people who might not be familiar with his channel. He is a very excellent shooter. He does take the time to mentor people in the correct use of things. One of the best things he ever said in any of his video's is when people asked how do i get better is. Be the first one on the range and the last one to leave.
When you go to the range, always go with a friend, largest groups buys lunch. You'd be surprised how much more effort you put into it. But 3 gun, man this looks like a ton of fun, and great practice too.
One of the best tips from Jerry was the one about using two hands on the pickup of the pistol from the barrel. Most of us would not think of that, but once it's demonstrated it's so obvious. It's not only faster but safer. Also the reminder to set up correctly when you approach the shooting position with rifle and shotgun is golden. I could understand what he said about improving your time by about a quarter with just a little practice to eliminate "unwanted movement" from the game. In the little USPSA shooting I've experienced it really is about the movement as you can eliminate more time from moving than you can from shooting. A lot of guys and girls shoot pretty fast, but moving correctly is the big winner for time saving.
This shows class and a real champ. Jerry gives tips on how to do little things that help make you a better competitor . And he might be competing against those he is giving tips to! Thanks Jerry.
Awesome, good going guys. Jerry’s the best. What he teaches is intelligent and practical. And most important, if it isn’t fun you won’t give it your best.
Eric's first run was 42+ and that beat Chad's run. Eric, I think you had a great run through the shotgun portion, both times. I think you only faltered in your 2nd run because you were trying to beat your first time. What an honor it must be to have such and excellent shooter showing you the ropes. Jerry has excellent tips to help you improve, and they are simple and so logical. His methods sure beat the complex gun handling some other instructors teach.
I like Eric's conversation with Jerry. He might not do a lot of competition shooting, but he's a gun expert in his own right. I learned a lot as someone who has 0 experience competition shooting. That CZ97 looks nice. Cool video.
Have you picked up the sport? I've recently gotten into it too (and I'm an IV and AV!). I appreciate your use of the AK platform. I run an AK-74 and VEPR-12. We're a very small minority
Wow, I didn't realize he shot "3-gun" since '86. I've always known him as a pistol guy. I just found a club that does amateur 3G type competitions this summer! I'm hoping to try out a match before the snow flies.
Great job on this vid guys, I thoroughly enjoyed it. To top it off you have the legend himself showing people new to the 3 gun scene a lot of valuable advice. Keep up the awesome content!
Absolutely outstanding Eric! Mix a fantastic youtube personality with one of the worlds finest competition shooters and you're bound to produce magnificent content. Keep up the good work, this channel keeps getting better!
What a great video. Mr. Miculek obviously a legend in the sporting world but also seems like an excellent teacher/coach. He gives much wisdom and deserves much respect for that. Eric seemed a little star struck and respectful which shows the type of man he is. Also Eric, those damn gophers give everybody problems. That's why we have to smoke em out with gasoline sometimes!
That was really cool. I liked that you didn't run Jerry's rig but opted for some cool different stuff. I also liked how you showed your first two runs unedited and let Jerry critique you. I learned a lot, video quality was great too.
8:07 things that get your disqualified from the matches,, Eric leaves the rifle facing down range, jerry fixes while they go to the next stage, and at 8:24 he leaves it facing forward again :)
Chad (camera man) is absolutely correct on the 97B, it may be a Cadillac of .45acp but let me shoot my EAA Witness and I'll always rock it faster and more accurate. I've owned both guns in both 45 and 9mm (CZ-97 & CZ-85) and a Witness for both. Still carry my Witness 9 and have since sold off the 45s.
I wish you guys would do a video on what you can and cannot shoot out of a shotgun . Like whether or not you can shoot slugs , oobuck ,bird shot or other types of loads out of smoothbore barrels or rifled barrels , barrels with chokes different types of chokes . If Different types of loads will damage different types of barrels. Just to make sure that people use the right ammo for the gun that they have . Thanks , Steve .
dam eric your saiga shooting on those clays were dam impressive i was impressed good shootin should have more 3 gun vids like these with diff pieces tht would be awesome
It kind of reminds me of playing drums or something where using momentum and minimizing movement can help you play faster. Its not necessarily about how fast you can move but how efficiently you can. You can see in the video how concise and smooth Jerry's movements are. He has a lot of practice. The three gun would be good training for using a variety of firearms.
you did great dude!even with all the pressure with having jerry with you!flippin sweet video dude and you are so lucky!!lol good job again and keep the videos coming!
Eric, I do watch your videos whenever they are on. I am doing this for quite some time . I guess I watched 100drts of em. An I just wanted to let you know that your channel has come a long way. And it never has been boring of some kind. It was always fun and to take something away from ever video. Often times lots to take away from em. An dchad is a non-bs-beast with revolvers specifically and every gun I saw him shoot in general. PS: I unmounted my burris FF3 for handgun-use 2 weeks ago and mounted my compM4 onto my saiga12 instead. weird coincidence :D
100 of a second means alot to jerry, dont ever round up his times again lol
True. lol
he was quick to point that out lol
I love how important safety is to Jerry. He always makes sure his gun is safe even if he just checked it. You can never be too cautious
I feel as privileged watching this video, as you had spending time with Jerry. He (as well as you from MossPawn&gun) are such a positive addition to the firearms community. Thanks for all you do! Looking forward to more videos to come. Stay safe

Great video; it really puts into perspective just how fast Mr. Miculek is.
I love how excited Eric was getting some instruction from Jerry, very cool.
"all around well rounded American" ha, I like it.
So did jerry
dang it. i was looking forward to "Three gun tips" like
1.shoot straight
2.shoot fast.
3.dont miss
+busterdog321
Glad im not the only one
Jerry is a master of his craft. To know and learn from this guy would be an honor.
These two guys are so humble. One of the biggest things I admire about both. Keep being awesome guys!
That old man is a Royal Badass !
He is the world multi champion. So yep, he is a true bad ass.
Great video guys
boa noite !!

You... the SUBJECTS are just that.. SUBJECTS-to the king's whims.. Perhaps you should have learned another Latin phrase... MOLON LABE !

sarahsmiles nice job!
Wow you are so privilaged to get advise from a legend :)
Jerry is awsome!
Yeah, agreed.
Man he is still faster than most folks half his age. Also that Vortex Razor HD (gen2) that he has on his rifle is awesome!
Its amazing how much intellectual thought goes into just shooting a gun in a competition
That's awesome having someone like Jerry to give you instruction and tips. Thanks for sharing.
I can't tell you how much I enjoyed this video. I found myself smiling as I watched. Weird, I know.
Thanks for taking the time to put together this video!

From a fellow georgia resident. Thank you for your service bud, love the videos
Hahaha Eric looked like a cop chasing a bad guy that caught you not looking 😂😂
Slow is smooth, smooth is fast!
This shows class and a real champ. Jerry gives tips on how to do little things that help make you a better competitor .
And he might be competing against those he is giving tips to!
Thanks Jerry.
What a treat. Thanks, Eric. Thanks, Mr. Miculek.
The amount of speed this man has, even for his age is amazing. No excuses boys. Get out and touch grass. Great video eric!
It's a good alliance between Iraqveteran8888 and Jerry Miculek. It's a very wise choice...plus you have fun! Thanks :-)
Awesome, good going guys. Jerry’s the best. What he teaches is intelligent and practical. And most important, if it isn’t fun you won’t give it your best.

"This little sound right here makes a man's brain really shrink" - funny as heck. Laugh my butt off...

Very nice of Jerry to come out he is amazing.
Jerry, almost always hit the target every time. His shooting is legendary.
Have you picked up the sport? I've recently gotten into it too (and I'm an IV and AV!). I appreciate your use of the AK platform. I run an AK-74 and VEPR-12. We're a very small minority
New season of top shot Jerry miculek vs everybody
I think we all know who would win that lol
the tips from pros is crazy how little things make such a difference
Way to cut off your guest as you "intreview" him
Jerry Miculek=What an amazing man. A Living legend!
Safe fun and competition is the lesson here. That the Moss Pawn guys were within 50% of Jerry's times shows they are fundamentally sound shooters.
I just started shooting 3gun this year. So I have found this very informative. Thanks so much Jerry and Eric!
Great great stuff; so jealous, almost ZERO 3 gun in my area that I KNOW OF, I'll have to start doing my homework... Jerry's the master, thanks guys
Wow, I didn't realize he shot "3-gun" since '86. I've always known him as a pistol guy.
I just found a club that does amateur 3G type competitions this summer! I'm hoping to try out a match before the snow flies.
This was a valuable video IV8888. Thanks!
Thank you Mr Jerry for all you do
jerry is a total badass you guys are lucky to get to shoot with him love the videos keep em coming
Great job on this vid guys, I thoroughly enjoyed it. To top it off you have the legend himself showing people new to the 3 gun scene a lot of valuable advice. Keep up the awesome content!

I wish Eric would have shot the course again after Jerry's tips to see how much better he did taking the advice. :-)
A thing to try is to have the last stage with a marksman rifle and targets at 150-200m (164-218yards)
Outstanding primer! I'm considering getting involved in this sport and this was an excellent intro. Thank you.
8:07 things that get your disqualified from the matches,, Eric leaves the rifle facing down range, jerry fixes while they go to the next stage, and at 8:24 he leaves it facing forward again :)

I'm chuckling right along with ya'll and enjoying every second of this video! Thank you so much!
One of your best and most informative videos. Well done!
Thats what a day at the range is all about, having fun with some buddy's. Great video! Thanks Eric!
wish I could get an awesome one on one schooling from JM like this!
Super cool of Jerry to come out there.
Loved it. Put a smile on my face seeing all the excitement and adrenalin
Great information. Some things that seem so minor make a huge difference.

He did that under 28 seconds and clearing the guns after he finish. WOW!
Awesome video guys. I just shot my first IDPA match today, and there's a local 2 gun comp coming up. I'm def on board and 3 gun may follow!
Guys that was awesome! Shooting 3gun with jerry miculek, don't get much better than that!

Wow! What a great time. Someday I need to try a 3 gun match. I know my times will be slow but who cares, looks like fun :-)
Man, that looks fun. I am going to have to set up a course next time I go out.
