Daves worked very hard for this.. His voice was damaged after his neck surgery in the early 2010s.. But he blew his voice in 2008/9.. Since he has generally struggled vocally good days and bad.. After the cancer he aimed to take better care of himself generally and as part of the exercises to repair his throat after the cemo it naturally developed into let's try to improve vocal range, pronunciation, and stamina.. Since coming back to the stage its been improvement on improvement for his vocals live.. I can remember the first time they pulled Conjuring out and it was like wow.. Daves going with high pitch vocals and nailing them without slurring it or the words blending as he struggled to sort of squeeze the vocals out.. They were coming out far more naturally and you no longer saw his straining as much.. Its been about 3 years now and the improvements are very noticeable since then even.. Devil's Island... Who would of thought he would pull that off as well.. I'm now convinced there's really no song off limits for Dave vocally anymore.. He can do it all again.. Generally pleased for him and of course for the fans who get even better shows now which is what it's all about putting on the best show possible.. That Dave is healthy and happy is a bonus for us because as long as that remains the case Dave will never stop. Love live Dave Mustaine and Megadeth!
just arrived from the concert, best night of my fking life, first row, southamerican energy, I could barely breath, my body aches, but I'll never forget this day, thx so much dave for visiting, lov u king
Dave vocal sounded so good even in a shaky cellphone recording... I hope he can maintain it throughout the tour. I noticed he also becomes alot more animated again unlike in last few years where he often looked stiff.
Jesus, they also played DEVIL’S ISLAND??? Man they’re bringing back old stuff, I was there when they played Hook In Mouth for the first time in like 10 years
It seems like the 4th or so song in their setlist they reserve for playing something deep cut, that 3rd song is always something different which is really cool.
bro, BRO, why are Dave's vocals sounding so good? WTF this makes me even more happy to see 'em in Oberhausen in a few months, bought the tickets in December 2023 because I was so fucking excited OMGGGGGGGGGGGG
saw an interview with him awhile back. apparently he’s been working extremely hard after the cancer with vocal coaches and what not, and is now able to reach a range higher than he could years prior to the cancer! his hard work shows very well!
I think he really started working on his tone. There's a video of him singing "my last words" and he has never sounded better singing it in over 20 years.
Notice how Dave missed his vocal on the first switch and there was no sound coming out of the speakers? Yeah that's called actually performing live kids.
thats what i was wondering at first to, the vocals sounded so tight to the studio recording i was wondering if it might be a track (even though i know dave wouldnt do that) then when the quiet piece came and he missed getting to the mic for the first part of it and nothing came out i was like damn this is all him straight up. even at 63 he can still deliver a brilliant performance on guitar and vocals. long live the god
@@ironjaydentaylor8196 The sick the dying and the dead was written and recorded not long after Dave was cleared of throat cancer so it was likely written with his vocal range at the time in mind. He's only gotten better since then so it makes sense that he's gonna be killing this song live nowadays.
I have to point this out….2:07 “the sweet smell of…” can be heard but no Dave on the mic he comes on the mic right as it’s saying “roses a pocket full of posies” is Megadeth using backing tracks ????
Dave does this with songs that has spoken words like the intro “bring out your dead”, and for example Architecture of Aggression’s ending. I think its more of a character thing than anything then goes right back into his singing verses. I can be wrong but as far I can tell barely any backing track
Tocaron 15 ó 16, omitieron Ill’ Be Back según me pasaron el tracklist, igual conciertazo. Casi lo mismo de siempre salvo por Devil’s Island, Hook in Mouth, The Mechanix y el debut en vivo de TSTDATD.

Dave sounds fucking amazing
Omg I am so happy for him I’m getting goosebumps. He sounds just like the record, maybe even better wow. ❤
Seriously, major improvements every time I see a new recording
It's just great to see him so much more happier and healthier the recovery was insane he's on point to himself in the 80s minus the down tuning
i too was shocked

and this song was crazy af live i bet
This song sounds so much better live
Damn right, studio version is sick but live version is so rough, its feels very “old school stuff” for been released last year.
Indeed!

He's probably on better medicines - he did have the cancer, so maybe he's better now than he was.
Yes! I love his energy in this video. It’s infectious!
Dave always turns it up for latin american/south american concerts they have a fuck ton more energy than most places in the world.
