It's tragic. This album is an absolute masterpiece start to finish. Stuart I think was unfortunately unaware of just how appreciated his contributions to music were
@@leorising11 he knew. He just couldn't stand Dani's forced input any longer. But he was very humble and was always so happy to hear how he inspired people. Wish I could just phone him one more time. Really miss the big guy.
Just picked this up on vinyl yesterday. This is everything this album should have always been. Just imagine how much more impactful this mastering would have been in 1998 ooh boy
First time listening to this album in years... Still the best Cradle album in my opinion. Still a classic! Nick Barker's drumming sounds amazing and enhanced. Beautiful album!
Best album of all metal. I'm so glad I got to be young when this came out. I got to meet Stuart and open up for them on this tour the first time they played Detroit. Stuart was very very kind to me. I know lots of us miss him and his amazing riffage. Rest in peace, Saint Anstis.

Rest in Peace Stuart, your era with CoF was absolutely life changing for me as far as music goes. Dark poetry combined with melodic mayhem , Perfection Incarnate ! Cradle will always have a special place in my blackened heart 🖤!
This is also one of those unforgettable albums I grew up with and acted as a sort of entrance for me into the whole black/death/extreme metal world. 🤘🤘🤘
Aside from the bloviated gaps between the tracks, assuming that's the fault of the uploader. Otherwise this almost sound like a re-recording, absolute nightmare and day quality. Also surprising mixing oversight during the Lustmord intro...
I know Cradle of Filth is somewhat of a meme in some metal communities, but fuck you and your family if you cant see how fucking powerful, melancholic, enigmatic, and absolutely hauntingly beautiful this album was, and still is. Not one single bad song. Cruelty and Midian will forever be among some of the best and most iconic metal albums for me.
If your (written) English were 'terrible', I wouldn't have been able to decipher and amend it as follows: "The greatest! Album from Cradle of Filth; this was my first Album from the Band, and then i had fallen into their music. Sorry, my English is terrible. xD" My first encounter with the filth (like most) was with the song: 'Nymphetamine', from the same self-titled Album, but my first Album was 'Midian', which is still my favourite to this day.
RIP Stuart Anstis first of all, his passing got me interested to listen this version once more. Typical mix of these days, close mics loud on the drums, cymbals hardly audible. Guitars are too low, just like watching almost any festival concert tends to be. Technically the sound has improved but I'm still with the original, something essential from it is missing here.
The drums are practically fixed. Guitars maybe a bit too noisy, main levels a bit too loud (like everything these days), but overall a massive improvement. Good job, whoever did it.
I didn't even know this existed - a re-record of my favorite CoF release. And i'm surpised as I'm confused - this sounds even better than the original version. Especially the drums are absolutely insane.
I think the uploaded did it to alter the length, to avoir being blocked for copyright issues. I guess the original length of the album gives the band or YT a clue, gets their attention and they then block it.
R.i.p um jeah man if this does not play on my funeral my parents family know ill lierley stand up from the dead im kickt out from school cause of this album man fuck delmas
Я так понимаю, что на переизданной версии играет не Nicholas Barker , а кто же тогда? если .Adrian Paul. тогда все понятно...и всё таки оригинал мне больше нравится ..как говорится от души! Беларусь.г.Орша 12.07.2022.
Just now checking out the remix. I was a big fan when this was released originally but the mix was horrid. Drums sounded so bad... I’m hoping for redemption for Nic here. Here we go...
Nick Barker is a Legend!
RIP Stuart. you were a dear friend and this music of yours will live on forever. ❤
@@Johnny_Foreigner This album was a big part of teenage years for me, I feel like a part of me is gone, makes me wanna pick up my axe again and play.
@Dick Trickle great work indeed
He was the composer of this masterpiece. Respect forever

Still, Nick mentioned that this version (and the old one) is a lame work of what actually could be done. You can see it on "Scars and Guitars".
Every band has a high water mark- this is it for Cradle. Fucking amazing, begining......to end.
It's really close between Dusk... And Her Embrace and this one
@@DoktorNaibmys both great albums for sure. Lineup had serious chemistry

When Hallowed Be Thy Name comes on I get goosebumps, that is one killer cover.
Rest in Peace Stuart Anstis, what a marvelous guitar work you did in that one, my dear!!!
One of my absolute favorite albums.
I fucking love old cradle. It's just so unique, nothing like this anymore.
This is also one of those unforgettable albums I grew up with and acted as a sort of entrance for me into the whole black/death/extreme metal world. 🤘🤘🤘
This release completely slipped me by! Hats off to the engineer, this was like hearing this as a teenager again for the first time, marvelous work

The Album that changed my life, thanks Dani ! And thanks for sharing ! The drums are now like nails inside iron maiden , sharpen and delicious !
I think the remastering of this album is pretty decent can hear the difference even on this compressed platform
31:40 The Twisted Nails of Faith is just epic haunting blackness, power and aggression.
Yes it is. The solo part of it sounds like the calm before the storming of the gates, and I fucking LOVE it!!
I agree
Dust and her embrace y Cruelty and the beast están entre mis diez mejores álbumes de black metal.
A mí me gustó C.O.F solo hasta el Midiam.

That comment escalated so quickly haha
Totally agree! :) I've been listening to these albums since release and I still can't get enough of them.
The original mix has a vibe.
Original mix is raw. I prefer it.
@@cinkco It sounded like crap and i usually prefer rawer releases. This is 10 times better
The greatest Album from Cradle of Filth
This was my first Album of the Band and than i was fallen into there music, sorry my english is terrible xD

First album from them too! Still proudly have the old CD here with my collection
RIP Stuart Anstis
Classic album
Yoo lmao. One of my faves but haven’t listened to this remastered version much. Saw it on LP at my local record store finally and might go pick it up
Best CoF album

Love this gothic album very vampiric and Listening to there earlier stuff makes want to be a vampire
Masterpiece! 🦇

It's not re recorded they remixed the original album
The Planet Earth Best Wisdom Extreme Metal Band : Cradle of filth..... : I Think it
Sounds awesome, but still lookgin for a version that corrects the silence between the intro and first song...
Check this one: th-cam.com/video/t8_Yk1QIhYM/w-d-xo.html
Lovecraft and Witch Hearts
Is that in the official release?
I think the uploaded did it to alter the length, to avoir being blocked for copyright issues. I guess the original length of the album gives the band or YT a clue, gets their attention and they then block it.
That drums sound much better than original version
That was pretty much the whole point. FInally!
I can also appreciate better the keyboards, I've heard phrases I didn't know they existed in the original album
100% agree. Originally Nick complained about how the drums sounded muffled-like and we know he was right
twisted nails of faith - their best song
RIP big lad \m/
WOW ITS REALLY GOOD

is this skaroupka on drums or a re-master of nicks work?sounds like skaroupka as nicks splash work is barely heard
Stuart died?! When did this happen??
Dani is the best raper in black metal:) faster than eminem :D
I always hated black metal but this album is pretty frickin' cool. One of my main jams in (1998?)
Суперский альбом, это лучшее творение Дани
Midian тоже весьма неплох

Did they re-record the drums? If this is imitation in my opinion it is perfect
According to official release this is a remix of the original stems
Слушаю сейчас,и мнение мое (я слышу отличия сразу) перезаписывать этот шедевр вот из за таких правок? Я думаю не стоило совсем!!!
Big black disc
Do not worry i will end me
they improved the sound of the drums but now the cymbals are lost 🙃
To each his own, but i can still hear the cymbals just fine.
