For All Tid is still the most organic and sincere release by Dimmu Borgir. I have tried to give a chance to later releases many times, but it just doesn't give that feeling.

I love In Sorte Diabloli, Spiritual Black Dimensions, Abahadabra, Eonian etc. But, For All Tid is still IMHO one of the coolest DIMMU BORGIR Albums/CDs of all time.
Their best album, and the one with the most "soul" invested in it. It's clear they weren't yet stars trying to please the fanbase or labels or doing things for the money (which I can understand btw, all of us work for money). It could have failed in so many ways yet we have this masterpiece. Stormblast was good as well btw, very good, but not as good as For All Tid. Their real downfall started after Death Cult Armageddon, I think the remake of Stormblast was a mistake but I understand why they did it (the plagiarism part of the original and they were already a big band). But the big downfall started especially after Abrahadabra and Eonian was even worse. Oh well, it happens to many bands. But at least we have Old Dimmu (1994 - 2003).
