    I like the 5600G because at $120, I can put more money towards a better GPU. though its not a 5600X or 5800, It's no slouch, and will get you by, until you upgrade. When that happens, I would be happy to keep an extra 5600G in my spare parts bin.

    • @greenman8
      @greenman8 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      my theory, beef up that GPU as early as you can. It's always easier/cheaper to upgrade the CPU later. (not to mention, I hope the graphics card out lives the CPU/Mother-Board combo. Look at me, I'm still running a 980ti)

    • @greenman8
      @greenman8 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      You know what else? It's a-shame I can't do much with my 780ti, and though it is long in the tooth, it still does bite. I would be thrilled to use it for 1080p and less.

    I used my 5700G for over a year until finally liking the price of a $329 MSI RX6600XT and installing it. It didn't really impress with numbers in Cinebench but with Passmark it tore it up in the 3D mark numbers. It went from 3224 to13294 and watching the difference was amazing. The jet planes used to fly around like bi-planes with the APU only and with the new MSI they now fly like Jets. The floating spinning island trees used to stutter and flicker but now they spin like tops that I can't even recognize. A world of difference between an APU and a GPU. They 5700G saved me a ton of money and really did the job for a year but it's time to jump into the game a get a graphics card and take advantage of the full capability of your computer.

    I want to share another excellent use case for the APU. Especially the 5600G. Just upgraded my son's APU from 2200G to 5600G. His PC is a small slim desktop casing (smaller than the one in your video) with one of those small PSU inside (don't know what you call this form factor but it's like really small, smaller than a SFX PSU) and it only rated at 300W. Previously using the 2200G to run Switch emulator RyujinX...was terrible...frame rates hover around 15fps to 25fps tops for Octopath traveller 2. It even lags mad in the world map accessed from the menu which is basically a sort of 2D map but perhaps rendered in 3D. Basically, it runs worse than a real Switch and just horrible. After upgrading to 5600G, it was night and day...can say there is like > 100% improvement. Gameplay frame rates hovers around 40-45fps, drops to above 30fps at most during some battle scene. The world map which lags like mad previously now a buttery smooth 55fps. Almost comparable to my RTX3060 system at 60fps with a 5600X. In short, it now actually performs better than a real Switch!!!(Original Switch version locked at 30fps). It's an excellent upgrade for my purpose. I think the 5700G does not offer the same value as it's way too expensive and offers only a few frames extra as shown in most gaming benchmark tests. Hence, both me and my son are very happy with the 5600G. :)

    I just bought the 5700G for $170.00. It's an insane value for that price, you get the APU if you need it, and it's still a 4.6ghz 8-core if you don't.
    If you buy one just be sure you can control the overclocks from the motherboard bios. The GPU runs at 2000mhz by default which is low, but every test shows that it's stable at 2400mhz and dramatically improves your performance. It also helps to have fast ram, 4000/CL16 or faster is recommended.

    Man y'all are funny. Y'all meaning gurus on TH-cam. Everyone's a mega gamer snob. Lol. Meant in the nicest way. So, I'm from old school of gaming. I had the ISDN internet connection in the mid 90s and it was the fastest for residential and $150. Playing Quake online. Unreal tournament. I was there for Half Life in it's heyday and also consoles a lot. These days though, my music is most important..I play metal guitar. So I prioritize Music Production.
    But...I still have to have capable gaming.
    I've had a super fast OS M.2 NVME, 32GB ram and the Ryzen 5 4600G. It runs all the games I wanna play. And very well! No I'm not playing the latest titles cos I've been out of the loop with gaming. My point of all this is, I can't be a rare dude here. Tons of dudes would do great with the Ryzen 5 5600G or 5700G.

    The great majority of people who use computers don't do gaming and don't want to double the price of their computer to buy an overpriced GPU that they probably can't find to buy anyway. We want something to run a web browser, run a spreadsheet, play a youtube video, things like that. 5600G and 5700G may have been able to fill that role but they are being phased out in favor of 7000 series that can't do it, and my understanding is that the video capabilities built into latest Intel chips can't do it either. A brand new 5700G is $170.00, and you can easily overclock the GPU to 2400mhz in your BIOS.
      I highly doubt you are getting a 5600G and an RX580 for $170.00. The 5600G alone is $128.00, which leaves you $40.00 for the RX580. Are you dumpster diving?

      Yes but the Intel igpu is worthless. So put that in your pipe and smioke it pal. Adding to the fact the apu has a cpu so how is it "worthless"?

    • @mrljgibson
      @mrljgibson ปีที่แล้ว +1

      This is probably aimed at people upgrading their AMD systems, as replacing the motherboard is going to up the cost for the intel, but if you have ever had the GPU fail when fault finding the GPU an APU is a definite boon.
