thanks... you guys have seen these saws before i need new footage bad... but i have a couple i will load today then probably take a break from youtube for a little while
@@johnscustomsaws that’s cool man. Do what you think is right. The algorithm is in your favor if you upload once a day. Also I’m looking at building a 440 460 big bore hybrid. Something you have any experience in?
@@hattersequiptmentrepairllc4661 Yeah my man that's all I used to build that's what got me started in doing saws was the hybrids 044 lower with the 046 top end... Pulled like a freight train... chewed thru clutch springs and drums like it was a consumable part lol... I can't do any builds I'm too busy and committed to other jobs but I have an attic full of 044/046/440/460 carcass saws... if you're interested email me
I have used a chainsaw once Just love that you take cake of hot spotters One idea. If you will! I know hot spotters and the forestry guys aren’t struggling to get by but that being said what about coming up with a raffle or Go Fund Me to award or hot spotter with his own ported and built steel paid for by the Viewers I know it’s not cheap your time is not cheap I can imagine any stihl machines aren’t cheap but you make them so much better and they can do a much better job do it much quicker and know you are there behind their machine without their machine there a guy with an ax God bless
i am always up for helping a shots guy and i do discount their builds... any wildfire guys actually.. but if there is a way i can contribute to a legit raffle i would donate some of my time especially if its for a good cause... email me if you want johnscustomsaws@gmail.com
I really like the fuel injection system on the 500i... honestly I wanted to dislike it because of the hype it had... but once I figured out how to get around the electronics making the saw slam into the rev limiter at WOT it was a totally different animal... the mtronic saws and 500 I send them out and there is no worry about tuning issues... they will calibrate to the environment and performance is optimal for the most part and that is nice
@@johnscustomsaws it’s a great way to increase engine displacement without increasing the weight of the machine. I think the maximum you’d get on a saw is an extra 5-10cc maybe a tiny bit more without pushing your luck.

So when are we gonna see you do a whole video on the port job I'm interested in seeing the whole process start to finish. If it's a 45 minute video I'd watch the whole time. I'm not here to bash you as some of the other people you were mentioning in the newer videos. I'm just a interested viewer that would like to watch the progress. You certainly seem to know what you are doing and from what I have seen so far the quality is great.
I do a start to finish build on the 461 and will probably redo that video or do a different saw start to finish... but the 500i I am not going to show that one sorry... it took a lot of time and effort to crack the 500i code and I can't just give it away
That is sexy all around! You're the man John thanks for going into such detail in your vids 👍
Alright , I'm just giving a thumbs up before I watch the videos . Those were some beautiful sounding cuts . And then naturally aspirated .

Early bird good morning John
thanks guys... i got a long ass day ahead of me... i need to learn how to like coffee lol
Not to much of a coffee guy my self either but ill drink a couple Red Bull’s
Do you take preference to working on carbed saws, or the injected ones? Which do you prefer to cut with? Thanks, homie, keep up the good work!

Kicking Ass and Taking Names!!
Some day it would be cool if you could port my MS462 RCM, I cant find anyone I can trust with my baby
Does the saw with the 8 pin sprocket have a bark box on it?
That is a custom muffler nothing special just a shotgun style muffler
They all bad to the bone!
Hi, John! From what saw is that muffler ?
Hey John have you ever done a Rebore on a saw?
No I haven't... I know of a place that does but I have to send the cylinder off

I'm really curious what the limitation of the injector on that 500 is. Also is there a way to modify or upgrade that injector system.
Oh trust me this is something I am deeply involved in and I am getting some shocking results 🤫
