    "No headlight modification"? Chopping off the entire rear of the headlight assembly surely qualifies as a modification. You may want to change the title sir. Just sayin'.

    I am browsing this playlist on how to remove or clean my cloudy projector lens, all of a sudden a hand saw appear, I thought you're just joking until you proceed to hand saw the housing LOL. Seems removing the front cover is easier now

  • @sonyviva308
    @sonyviva308 3 ปีที่แล้ว +19

    That sounds scary to do it on an expensive headlight unit. I think I'd rather have the front cover removed.

      If you've got a Dremel you could use a fine cutting wheel and create a lot less swarf. OR once the projector is out you could remove the other bulbs etc and swill the unit out with water and then let it dry.

    I just used a blow torch lol but seriously, removing the front cover will lead to eternal condensation as it is difficult to get the same sealing quality as the factory. This method is unconventional, but gluing plastic to plastic is easier with all the super glues available for it. The cut has to be precise though.

    A lot of manufacturers don't even put a large enough hole to fiddle at the projector opening to fit the actual bulb. They should be regulated so we have proper access to the bulbs and the nuts that are holding the projector. Can you recommend some glue types? I'm worried about water ingress, and epoxy takes a long long time to set in

    This is way more destructive than simply removing the front glass/plastic panel and doing the job

    • @CycloneCyd
      @CycloneCyd  2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      It is. But so what? On some cars headlights (some Hondas and Lexuses [Lexi?]), there is no choice

    Hi @cyclonecyd. Thanks for another interesting video. In your notes you list a link to Sinolin GEN4 EVOX-R rather than the version you used. It seems that the Sinolin GEN4 EVOX-R has a LHD version suitable for the UK market. If so, I guess that the modifications made to the projector in your video would not be necessary? Is that right? Thanks.

    They should make the shutter removable because I hate it showing my whole windshield black from middle on up because it stops the light from shining as bright as it could and I can't see down the road adequately. Stupid thing I ever saw in a big ass truck dodge ram is this little dam headlight that all my headlights high and low from the small projector light. Stupid stupid. No one makes anything in this world to actually work. When headlights are a safety issue and people die if they can't see going down the road cuz all car dealers care about is how much money they get to sell cheapest made vehicles they can make. Then don't make adequate shit after market that is not a dam hassle and way too expensive to modify.

    Anyone who does this is off their rocker. But having said that their is people out there that have followed your advice and lost a lot of money because they cut a big hole in the back of their headlight. Warm up the glue in the oven and take off the lense or if you have a heat gun it's best to use that

    • @CycloneCyd
      @CycloneCyd  2 ปีที่แล้ว +8

      Well, you would be wrong. There are some headlights (Honda/Lexus spring to mind) where the front cover CANNOT be removed by warming them as the glue does not soften.

    • @pauldeutsch
      @pauldeutsch 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I was wondering if a heat gun might be a good alternative to the oven too. Although I'd have to be very careful not to overheat any part of the headlight as I worked my way around. Maybe it's better just to use the oven when my wife isn't home to worry about me melting headlights in the oven!
