There’s no better way to think through a problem than through writing. I think Bezos does this to help his people think better.

Would you differentiate between writing on paper or via notes on your phone in terms of effectiveness?

    1. Two pizzas teams - No team should be larger than can be fed by two pizzas
    2. No PowerPoint - Someone must prepare a 6-page memo with real sentences
    3. Start with Silence - Everyone read the memos silently

      4. Memo's and reports should be worked on over a decent week of time.

Maybe you can give an example of a "memo" that takes 30 minutes to read and process??

Editing, and then re-editing after a few days with a fresh mind is actually a very effective practice

I am a fan of the no powerpoint (and I assume that includes keynote and google slides) rule!!!

Another rule that should be added here, is that people talk according to seniority. Mr. Bezos tries to talk last. So that people will not try to satisfy their bosses, but say what they really believe.

Great video. Quick, to the point, and a brief-yet-thorough explanation of the three main ideas. I feel like this 2:09 video was more informative that some of the classes I took in college.

Waiting until the meeting for memo to discuss and plan something is a horrible idea, and memos "just words" with no data visualization, I can see why bezos was a success, but the. Life crumpled apart.

How about "Rules to Treat Your Employees Humanely"?

@ Because most of them don't have the education to seek something better immediately and they need to eat.
And it is as bad as people claim. Here's an earnest opportunity to educate yourself on the matter:

There ought to be rules about videos that are supposed to be educational: NO stupid and distracting pling-a-ling background music!

These rules are idiotic and explain why amazon offices get so little work done.

I agree, Amazon has terrible employee incentive and productivity. Amazon is a good customer service, but a terrible company in whole to work under.

    4. no time to pee in the warehouse, who needs to pee anyway when you are making him money.
