Did this today. I have always been good with PC's but never had to encounter this. I was scared to say the least. BUT. I did it. Ram was detected and all was buttoned up just like before. Runs great and now 16GB of RAM instead of 8. This can be done but prepare for an intense 1/2 hour or more especially if you do not have the right tools. Go slow and do not push the envelope.

It's great that you showed all the steps of teasing pieces apart instead of editing it out. Some ppl might think it's repetitious , but I get stuck on those little things, wondering if I'm doing it wrong. Great job! 👍 Now I'm ready to upgrade the SSD from 256 GB to 512.

This is a really good video applicable for many, if not all, of the recent HP All-in-Ones. At the same time, HP deserves severe criticism for the lack of a maintenance manual for these All-in-Ones on its web site. Also, HP gets even harsher criticism for the next-to-the-worst design of an All-in-One. Why next-to-worst? Apple's iMacs get the crown for the worst design for maintainability. With an iMac, you need special tools, a special cardboard part, and replacement ADHESIVE to glue the screen on after you remove it, all courtesy of iFixit. If only HP had glued the screen on for this All-in-One, it could have shared the title with Apple for worst ever computer to repair or upgrade. If you need to work on an HP All-in-One, this video is for you. Better still, DO NOT buy an HP All-in-One!!!!

I upgraded from 4GB to 16GB today. My 22-df0001na is slightly different (brand new in November 2021). The stand didn't need to be removed, although I did remove the stand cover which is all in one piece as opposed to the three in this video. I'm not sure if it needed to come off or not. Once the speaker cover was off (it's handy to be a guitarist as medium and hard picks are perfect for upening the little catches!) there was a set of screws - all with little double arrows pointing to them They all needed to come out. A magnetic screwdriver is important for this job as some screws are deep. Loosening the screen was a bit hairy, but gentle outward pressure from the bottom (where the screws came out plus some gentle sliding and tweaking with the pick got me there in the end. Thanks for giving me the confidence to have a go - working perfectly now.

Actually you can mix RAM of various sizes, speed, timings, chip configuration and brand, it's just they won't work "optimally" together, i.e. performance won't be very uniform and consistent. The whole "you can't mix RAM" thing is more of a thing in the past when CPUs didn't really have advanced and flexible memory controllers in them, especially around the mid to late 90's era.
Mixing RAM isn't something you want to do in a PC used for gaming or any other speed sensitive application though, my old HP workstation which had mix of two different duos of RAM modules (two single-rank and two dual-rank, both of different timings) would have quite noticeable microstutter in some games, particularly in Destiny 2, and I attribute these stuttering problems to the memory configuration of that computer, since no amount of increasing or decreasing visual quality settings would solve the problem. This was with an RX 460 4GB graphics card too, which should be able to run those several year old games fine at low settings at the very least. Heck, I had an even much older and less performant HD 5770 1GB before that card, and the microstuttering was kind of noticeable there too.
But yeah, mixing RAM is possible, I just wouldn't recommend it if you use your PC for gaming or any other application that requires performance that is both fast and predictable, consistent (audio workstation / heavy video editing maybe?)

I will soon take apart my HP just like yours and add a memory card to up the amount. And purchase an SSD to add hard drive space. I was not aware both of those were available. Totally Awesome! My HP all in one has a AMD Ryzen 7 Processor. But I hope I can upgrade both items on mine. I will soon purchase the items and then take mine apart to upgrade my system. Thank you for this video. Much appreciated. I have built many PC's. So it should not be hard for me. I am eager to upgrade my system. My HP all in one has 16GB. So I really do not need to but might upgrade it anyway. Thanks again for showing this video. My unit is new, so it might be a little different to take it apart. But I will make sure to take my time with a magnetic screw driver.

      My question exactly. ;)
Airing on the side of caution, I just installed a SATA M.2 drive, and it worked fine.
The whole M.2 SATA vs NVMe thing is a freaking nightmare, as some boards are even FITTED with single-key M.2 slots - but are SATA, so you put an NVMe drive in there, and the machine can't see it. Grrrrrr. In this video, they show install of a SATA M.2 drive, so go with that and it should work fine.

For those who have this computer I have this same one, and I am trying to confirm if the CPU is soldered or not. i see the heat sink is obviously screwed down as if it's holding the cpu, yet, could that just be to hold the heat sink over the soldered cpu? I did some research on the type of cpu & its claiming to have a FP4 socket type which i am able to find only a little information on at this point. I know that cpu chips can be resoldered if done very very carefully, but i want to ask the more knowledgeable ppl if they may have already know of a cpu upgrade. if you have this computer you already know the specs. i'd hope the video maker could answer but seeing this video is 2 years old i don't think he will. I'm more accustomed to Tower pc's, not very acquainted with these all in ones yet i'm trying to understand what needs to be done before i pry open this computer.
**** Update ***** I highly believe now that the cpu is soldered.... any ideas? can a socket be attatched? is there a cpu that can be resoldered onto this type of whatever for any kind of upgrade?

Not directly, but you can get an external encloser box. I would do anything very modern on it, nothing more than say a 1660. Otherwise you will choke the CPU.

Both are same. Just one difference is all in one pc doesn't have battery othervise motherboard ram processor are all same. I am using my all in one pc till 3 years and I discovered it has everything of laptop nothing has desktop. I prefer buiying desktop pc that are prebuild or build by your own. Just telling install a ups and it'll work like a laptop😄😄😄

Hi. I just bought a new Hp 27in AIO. It’s the CB0000a I think. Anyway. It has a Ryzen 7 with 12Gb Ram. I am upgrading to 32Gb as that’s the max. But I’m wondering if I can upgrade the
Amd 5700 to a Gaming Card? Like a 3060 or something? Would I be able to do that with an HP AIO? Also, would I need to do anything else if this is possible at all? Thx to anyone who can answer.
