I did the exact opposite trip. Started on the North and finished on Ho Chi Min. Hanoi, Lao Cai, Sapa, Ha Long Bay, Da Nang, Hue, Hoi An, Ho Chi Min and Cu Chi.

What kind of hoops did you have to jump through in order to bring and use your drone, I've been to vietnam before but read that it was very difficult or even impossible to bring a drone through the airport?

Hey, 16 days was enough but we would recommend at least a month to enjoy the whole country.
Don’t go in August, it will be too ......too..hot to enjoy anything. The best time if you can go is between Dec-Feb.
