* They had all QoL improvements from gens IV-VI (Day-Night cycle, Physical/Special Split, online functions, Triple and Rotation Battles, unlimited TMs, Super Training, Pokemon Amie), made Shiny hunting way more enjoyable with different methods (Masuda, Shiny Charm, chain fishing) and had a way easier approach for competitive game. * Story, characters and world were vastly improved (you get a true final battle with your rival, Delta Episode is great, Team Magma and Aqua have better motivations, Wally becomes a more prominent character, you get some extra scenes from characters like Norman and your rival); while they expanded areas like Scorched Slab, Abandoned Ship, and the "Mirage Island" thanks to Soaring. * They added every Pokemon and move up to Gen VI; more Mega Evolutions, having ~50 options, or twice as many as XY had; and overall giving quite a lot of possibilities. I liked it honestly, i think it was easy but still engaging. They do not need to be extremely hard even though i wanted a difficulty select for years now.
Yes ORAS was like that. Way better than sun and moon imo when my friends in the 4th grade heard that there would be no gyms we immediately called Gen 7 the worst lol
I love this game I just think the only thing missing for me is character customization for me. I loved the introduction of it in x and y and am a bit disappointed they didn’t keep it going until sun and moon.
As a kid who had the original Ruby version as a 5th grader, ORAS was a really well done remake, but it was much, much easier than the original. Honestly, the fact that Latios/Latias willingly joined the team in ORAS made me kinda mad that I never figured out how to catch Latios in 5th grade.
I didn't even watch a whole second of this video, but I have to answer this question.... OBVIOUSLY. Though I'm biased just because it was my most played pokemon game, I wish I still had that save file...
people tend to dislike battle resort not being like the battle frontier from Emerald, but they forget that it included the battle maison (single, double, triple and rotation battle and its super variant), battle against wally after 50 battle in the maison (each battle increase his strenght), specialized trainer type (5 per day), handsome quest and move tutor (do not forget that recent game S/V does not have either offline battle facility or move tutor NPCs). I think this remake gets too much hate. I actually like them more than the original Gen. 3 games because of the mechanics & other QOL improvements that the originals felt dated. Yes. Even the most beloved one; Emerald. Also and this is an hot take. But I wasn't an fan of the Battle Frontier. I found them really obnoxious, repetitive and not fun at all. So I didn't mind they were absent in the remake.
I thought it was amazing, and definitely the best way to play Gen 3 in my opinion. The fact you could fly Latias/Latios all around Hoenn and you got to see the islands and such, the Delta Episode allowing you to catch Rayquaza (Mega Rayquaza btw) as well as Mega Groudon/Kyogre was awesome. They are the best pokemon remakes so far in my opinion, HeartGold & SoulSilver didn't address the core issues which plagued Gen II, FireRed are solid but pretty much 1:1, Let's go Eevee / Pikachu is decent, and Brilliant Diamond / Shining Pearl are honestly just downgrades (platinum is still the best way to play Gen 4). ORAS is underrated honestly, people shit on it too much when it came out, and still to this day, they really did make a remake that was good honestly.
After watching this, I'm going to play this game again, once I finish my Nuzlocke. You started a spark within me, thank you! First time seeing your stuff pop up and I'll definitely be subscribing! 😊
Me: Reads title. Also Me: Yes, they are the best pokemon remakes we've ever had. If you count all the new features and stuff added that weren't in the original games, ORAS are better remakes than HGSS.
Thanks to S&V 151, I'm back into Pokémon for the first time since the original Sapphire came out. I had been eyeing Alpha Sapphire for years, and finally decided to pick it up a week or two ago. I've already beat it. Now, I'm working on catching a few more Pokémon so I can start training my dream team when Omega Ruby comes in the mail. I've also been playing Ultra Sun a fair bit as I bought that on a whim a few years ago but never played it. It's certainly a good time to be a Pokémon fan if you pretend Bank never existed 😅
Pokémon on the 3ds was the best 🙏 It has games about all the regions For Kanto: there was Pokémon Red and Blue and Yellow on eshop For Johto: there was Heart Gold and Soul Silver and than there was the orginal Gold, Silver and Crystal on the eshop For Hoenn: there was Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire For Sinnoh: there was the Diamond, Pearl and Platinum because you can also play DS games on 2ds and 3ds For Unova: same thing as Sinnoh, it had all the Gen 5 games Black & White and Black 2 & White 2 For Kalos: there was Pokémon X and Y (. however no Z for some weird reason :/ ) For Alola: there Pokemon Sun and Moon and there was Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon And damn. USUM was definitely the best way for a the end on the 3ds Pokemon genre. I’m glad i grew up with Pokémon on the DS and 3Ds era.
Unfortunately, if gamefreak was in charge of the development of both Brilliant Diamond and Shinning Pearl, both games would have been 10 times better, in my opinion.
I’m thinking about diving back in to these games the only thing I’m curious is can the Pokémon from ORAS still be traded across Blk/wht, pearl, diamond, platinum, and HG/SS?
Yes, they are. And I'm tired of people pretending they're not. They always hail HGSS as the peak of not just remakes, but the series as a whole. They're brilliant, make no mistake, but they're riddled with flaws, retaining much of the ones from the GSC originals and DPPt such as the bad level curve and painfully slow battle engine. And I say this as someone who loves Johto, as Silver was my first game in the series. ORAS provides many QoL conveniences that HGSS does not, so they just win out in my opinion. They not only remade RS, they *REIMAGINED* it with all the modern bells and whistles we've come to love, like Mega Evolution and a new postgame adventure with an epic ending that let us catch a Mythical Pokémon without an event for the very first time. My only gripes with ORAS are: No Gym Leader rematches, no trainer customization (something that BDSP actually provided, to some extent) and the battles could've been a little tougher as Generation 6 was infamous for being easy thanks to the buffed EXP Share.
YES! Best ones overall for the 3DS area, and even better considering BDSP could've been done better. Hope A to Z is just as great. For casual people, I recommend getting both Alpha Sapphire and Omega Ruby. For X, Y, Sun, Moon, Ultra Sun, and Moon just get one of each.
So apparently I own this game and I don’t remember it at all ??? I probably beat this game and when I saw the MODE 7 OVER WORLD FLIGHT?? The hell were we up to in 2014
The Battle Frontier did matter and it was a huge diservice in my opinion and just because it's not Emerald doesn't justify it either. Pokemon Heart Gold and Soul Silver weren't Crystal, but it had the same features on top of it more features than Crystal. I don't hate Oras, still have the games, would never sell them, but Oras could have been so much better with the battle frontier. Feels goal oriented and not some stupid boring Looker mission.
1:31 Gotta disagree/agree here. The 'modern graphics' is what lets this down for me. Just because it's 3D, doesnt make it better. The pokemon and their sprites are what really matter to me (and other people), it IS the whole point of pokemon games after all. And honestly, the 3D models not only look 'lifeless' but also 'souless'. Like... Imagine how much time gamefreak could have spent on improving other aspects of the game instead of 3d modeling everything to something the majority of people believe looks worse?? This is why HGSS, to me, is the peak of the games. If they had just inproved the spritework overall like they had been doing, i cant imagine how amazing ORAS would have looked. Now pokemon is just one small piece of the amalgamation of samy looking 3d games. Not special or unique at all. I loved my original Emerald. I do think its in of the strongest games story and map wise in the originals. I would have definitely played ORAS if it wasnt for the sprites.
It's hard to explain how the different styled villages in HGSS all looked so unique and had a lot of detail and character even with the lighting. It felt like you were in 'the story' whereas the 3D games just look plastic and stiff.
cant say i agree. I think the truly modern 3d pokemon games ala lets go pikachu / BD/SP definitely look pretty terrible. but personally i think x/y and ORAS in particular had amazing visual design with the 3d models... Ill agree that not all translate well, but id say the same with sprites. Like ill definitely agree that charizard looks flat out worse as a 3d model, he looks too soft, where his sprite looked sharp and menacing. but mega salamence? hell even regular salamence? i think they look far better in 3d, same with basically all cutesy or furry pokemon, take ratticate. Ratticate IMHO looks like the definitive version in ORAS, they really nail the spiky rugged fur whilst still having it look soft and his teeth really draw attention. i think its hard to say that ones flat out worse than the other, because i think 3d and sprites just complement different designs better. I had gottent to a point where i couldnt even really play the older pokemon games, despite them being mechanically superior to most modern pokemon games simply because the visuals really put me off. i got over this recently though with getting into pokerogue, and thats really what showed me that the sprite design does complement some pokemon quite well, but certainly not all and id say i still think a majority translate very well.
Why are these games still dirt cheap though? Heartgold and soulsilver were 70-80 dollar games 8 years after release. Its been over 10 years now for ORAS and they are still 30-40 dollar games, which is a good thing but still has me wondering why
I almost bought Omega ruby on Saturday but i decided not to and ended up buying a switch and brilliant diamond instead lol i think im gonna go back and buy it tomorrow 😂
I actually didn’t really like ORAS that much. It felt like a decent send off but trivialized a lot of the game and gave you legendaries way too early. I thought most people thought they were alright but not incredible. Maybe I’m wrong
In hindsight these games were great. But they were piss easy. Like PISS EASY!!! Even for Pokemon standards. And I hated the MCs grin at all times, made me want to slap him into oblivion. Everything else was great and one thing that isnt brought up enough for these remakes is the new look Mauville city had. I think it was absolutely sick! GF was on the decline during the 3DS era but these are the games that still shine the most from that era. But its still far and away from the DS days which were peak pokemon without a shadow of a doubt.
I'm fine with them being overrated. That just means i can buy a used game for an affordable price instead of having to pay 100 dollars. Some of the prices of used pokemon games like black and white 2 are ridiculous....
FRLG were the first and for that very much the same as the original but with an post-game added. HGSS are still the best Pokémon games because they added so much stuff to do. ORAS tbh lacked a lot. Where the previous remakes added and never took away, these remakes did. The post-game wasn't big at all. It was rather fly from place to place which were already discovered. No Battle Frontier is really a crime. But the weakest part to me is the version differences. FRLG and HGSS didn't have to take a step back from the third version. ORAS was not the complete story like Emerald was. Now I will always wonder what the 3D battle between Groudon and Kyogre might have looked like. To me it left like a cash grab to make two incomplete versions again. I cant say ORAS is better than Emerald and that's pretty bad for a remake. BDSP are even worse of course, but that doesn't make ORAS good.
With Gamefreak finding new ways to hit new lows with their newest releases, at this rate the garbage graphics of SV will be lorded as being 'underrated'. I enjoyed ORAS the delta episode is way too overhyped for what is a glorified fetch quest and the exclusion of the battle frontier still confuses me since they had the time to add the 'battle resort'. Its exclusion was the first time I suspected Gamefreaks laziness and desire to implement features. I've been proven right ever since
Bro i just started playing Nintendo can u tell me the correct order to play platinum HG SS and black white please ik about all these games but what is the order?
Personally I’d start with Fire Red and Leaf Green, then Emerald if you can. Then HGSS then Platinum then bw and bw2. You get the full Pokémon experience this way because they fall into the first big timeline before the jump to 3d
@@nickbrix yes exactly that's the reason why there is a big jump in quality from 2D to 3D that's why I want to play it in order and I still enjoy all of them

Was one the best with X/y and sun/moon. Not the best in series I say but close! Switch beat them all a little bit for me. If I do rank will be like: 1. Let go 2. Sword 3. Diamond switch 4. Legends 5. Then start ds ones. 6. 3ds ones. Not like that lot in different spots but ya most ds be 9 to 12 8 then 3ds 13 to 16. Not know how many Pokémon games main lines out there sorry,\. But you get it. Gameboy 5 to 8

Every pokemon game released on 3DS are good. And I hate everything released on switch except legend areceus.
After watching this, I'm going to play this game again, once I finish my Nuzlocke. You started a spark within me, thank you! First time seeing your stuff pop up and I'll definitely be subscribing! 😊
ORAS is the game where I put the most hours
How soon in the game are you able to use mega evolution?
I am playing for 3 days on Pc with emu, hooked to a 55 inch TV with Xbox controller ,10x internal resolution and HD textures. Best pokemon game ever!
Dumped rom or illegally downloaded?
Bro, great video! You earned a sub :)
Thanks! I am glad you enjoyed!!! :D
The best remake in my opinion (I might have a bit of bias since they were my first pokemon games)
Pokémon on the 3ds was the best 🙏
It has games about all the regions
For Kanto: there was Pokémon Red and Blue and Yellow on eshop
For Johto: there was Heart Gold and Soul Silver and than there was the orginal Gold, Silver and Crystal on the eshop
For Hoenn: there was Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire
For Sinnoh: there was the Diamond, Pearl and Platinum because you can also play DS games on 2ds and 3ds
For Unova: same thing as Sinnoh, it had all the Gen 5 games Black & White and Black 2 & White 2
For Kalos: there was Pokémon X and Y (. however no Z for some weird reason :/ )
For Alola: there Pokemon Sun and Moon and there was Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon
And damn. USUM was definitely the best way for a the end on the 3ds Pokemon genre. I’m glad i grew up with Pokémon on the DS and 3Ds era.
Seeing this is just a reminder of how much of a let down BDSP was. It hurts a lot more because I started playing at gen 4
Unfortunately, if gamefreak was in charge of the development of both Brilliant Diamond and Shinning Pearl, both games would have been 10 times better, in my opinion.
I’m thinking about diving back in to these games the only thing I’m curious is can the Pokémon from ORAS still be traded across Blk/wht, pearl, diamond, platinum, and HG/SS?
yes they are, my favorite mainline pokemon games. Thank you for making this
Yes, they are.
For X, Y, Sun, Moon, Ultra Sun, and Moon just get one of each.
these games were by far THE best remakes in my opinion
That is fair! I love a lot of the features they added to this game it made the game really fell distinct from the originals :D
@@StrawHatMidas yeah, really wish they would make another remake with the oras style
So apparently I own this game and I don’t remember it at all ??? I probably beat this game and when I saw the MODE 7 OVER WORLD FLIGHT?? The hell were we up to in 2014
Decent video also learned about sharpedo using surf faster
Thanks! It is a great tip to get around faster! :D
Feels goal oriented and not some stupid boring Looker mission.
yes. even though i love emerald, i didn't care for battle frontier. and I love oras and emerald the most out of all the games.
Nice topic and video gamer
Hey thank you :)
really nice to play these on citra with resolution upscaling.
Yes they were. Next question please.
They were great :D
Bro did not just post this the day after i bought a 3ds lmao
I always know when another 3ds is acquired lol :D
What do you think the best starter in omega ruby is?
this is really when gamefreak peaked
One of my fav games but my all time fav is ultra moon 😂😂❤😊
I love omega I bought omega have not bought blue not very often I play old game kept me wanting play them again until I beat it again
No complaints and I can use Powersaves
Right!
Crazy how this review has me more hyped to play this game over IGN's 7.3 too much water
Yo,
Do you need a editor i can make your videos way smoother ans unique
Emerald with battle frontier still the goat!
Why are these games still dirt cheap though? Heartgold and soulsilver were 70-80 dollar games 8 years after release. Its been over 10 years now for ORAS and they are still 30-40 dollar games, which is a good thing but still has me wondering why
Much more availability
I almost bought Omega ruby on Saturday but i decided not to and ended up buying a switch and brilliant diamond instead lol i think im gonna go back and buy it tomorrow 😂
There my fave pokemon games so yeh
Best remakes ever. I like brilliant diamond as well.
Pleaseee can someone tell me how to play Pokemon omega ruby/alpha sapphire with good graphics like the video?
Some of the prices of used pokemon games like black and white 2 are ridiculous....
i'll answer the title. yes, yes it is.
It was good but had too much water
I understand that criticism completely:)
Yes, they are.
How could you be so mean to the 2 BDSP fans? 😔
I can’t let them forget they are wrong :D
True words. Thank you. HGSS really set the bar for a good reason.
HG/SS are better imo but i still think these games were good, i think they are decently close to emerald even though emerald was better imo!
as some one who is a big fan of ORAS
one man’s trash can be another man’s treasure.
They were amazing but a bit too easy
With Gamefreak finding new ways to hit new lows with their newest releases, at this rate the garbage graphics of SV will be lorded as being 'underrated'. I enjoyed ORAS the delta episode is way too overhyped for what is a glorified fetch quest and the exclusion of the battle frontier still confuses me since they had the time to add the 'battle resort'. Its exclusion was the first time I suspected Gamefreaks laziness and desire to implement features. I've been proven right ever since
1:22 That's mean!
They’re gonna take it, (bdsp are fine just not my cup of tea)
Bro i just started playing Nintendo can u tell me the correct order to play platinum HG SS and black white please ik about all these games but what is the order?
HG SS - platinum then black and white
@@lennon4116 alr thanks bro 🤜
Personally I’d start with Fire Red and Leaf Green, then Emerald if you can. Then HGSS then Platinum then bw and bw2. You get the full Pokémon experience this way because they fall into the first big timeline before the jump to 3d
@@nickbrix I have actually played fire red and emarald(I didn't complete post game) and never played leaf green
@@nickbrix yes exactly that's the reason why there is a big jump in quality from 2D to 3D that's why I want to play it in order and I still enjoy all of them
Honestly, I just wasn't a fan. I'll give it credit and say it did some things really well, but I felt it did some other things horribly, and I personally couldn't look past that.
That is fair! The thing I love about this community is that there are games for everyone, what some people hate, others will like so there is something for everyone really :D
Yes.
cheese toast
milk toast
egg toast
butter toast
Olive toast
@@LayneTheRandom_the_real_one avocado toast
They were wasteful. Even pokemon emerald tops the new games
Was one the best with X/y and sun/moon. Not the best in series I say but close! Switch beat them all a little bit for me.
If I do rank will be like:
1. Let go
2. Sword
3. Diamond switch
4. Legends
5. Then start ds ones.
6. 3ds ones.
Not like that lot in different spots but ya most ds be 9 to 12 8 then 3ds 13 to 16. Not know how many Pokémon games main lines out there sorry,\. But you get it. Gameboy 5 to 8
I think the upcoming SW/SH video is gonna be controversial cause i have a lot of good things to say about it lol
I can understand Legends, but how does Let's Go, SwSh, BDSP, and the standard DS titles beat out ORAS? I'm legitimately curious.
Easy answer, Yes.
Great games but mega pokemon suck... there were over 700 pokemon in the game and only 30 of them can mega evolve... just give me new evolutions i dont want gimmick that less than 1% of pokemon can take advantage of
mega evolution? THE literal worst mechanic to ever be added to the franchise, so cringe and bad, literally gives the entire game an automatic no from me, emerald for life
1:20 BDSP fans exsist?
apparently lol :D
You have problem with that
As someone who never played the original D/P/Pl I don't mind the remakes too much. My parents were poor those years and never gor me one of those for that Gen 😂
