I’ve been working on a long term build kinda like this, it’s a 1978 Yamaha golf cart (originally a 120cc 2 stroke I believe) now it’s in the middle of a heart transplant with a 500cc phaser II snowmobile motor, just needs wiring and a fuel system before it’s ready to rip 🤘🏻👌🏻
ive done that on lots of old cars and some old tractors as well. it does snug things up pretty well, and the motion will be nice and smooth with all that grease to float on

You guys sould make a decal that says "my ferrari is in the shop" and put that back on the golf cart or paint it the same color as the rail and confuse everone at the dragstrip lol
Ever consider taking the suspension apart and installing bronze or aluminum bushings to get rid of the slop? Check McMaster carr. But I guess it depends how bad you fix the steering, after all, it's just a old golf cart.
I live near a golf course on the far side of the country from you. Try talking to those folks at your nearest golf course to see if anything might be available to help you.
Ok you mentioned a Torque build, you guys should build a Frankenstein 212/420 build. Swap crank and pistons around or something and make a home built stroker.
Might want to cut a hole in the side to add a vent and cooling fan, and insulate the underside of that seat with something, and change to a light-colored seat cover. Otherwise you'll probably hate using it in the summer, which would be a shame given all the work put into it. Also a very cheap car stereo might be fun to put in there somehow. But that's probably more of a cruising kind of setup than the way you're using it.
Could always do a junkyard rack n' pinion system. I'm sure there'd be a rack from a small car that would work well with little to no mods needed to get it working. Heck, hook a pump to the Predator and you could even do power steering!!
Just my two cents I put a reverse box on it and that may be able to get your motor in the back not under you it would make it whole lot more user-friendly. And in for your turn signals I would have went with a column-mounted switch that you can buy it at any auto parts store.
most older carts have steering slop mines an 2000 and has about the same im used to steering slop but have been told to take the steering box off clean out the old greese and repack it and it should fix most of it theres also an adjustmentscrew on the steering box but im used to driving with it so i dont want to screw around with it
Without the windshield I think you could get 32+ mph . I don’t know if you have a name for your golf cart yet but with the platform on the back it reminds me of a Yellow Beaver.

I'm not sure trying to drive that cart with a bike clutch would be too fun, and given it will already do 150% the speed limit on a 420 single cyl they would probably get pulled over immediately running a bike engine. Ducati engine on rail 2.0!

that slop is pretty common on ez go's. my 82 ezgo is the same body and steering and just as sloppy. i plan on building an a arm system later on. the exisiting suspension is actually rather robust, i wouldn't worry about it too much. if ran mine into plenty of stuff at speed and never had anything happen.
Hey @CarsandCameras. I added 18lb valve springs and i think i have it right. But when i try start, it sometimes pulls back and it hurts everytime, before i added it, it would not pull back

put grease connection on all joints and inject grease so most of the gaps disappear from the steering. so we do in Sweden

You should look for a manual rack from an n/a miata or civic or something small, and you could get replacement inner and outer tie rod ends cheap
