Set the World on Fire is always good place to start . The second you said Pantera. MIYAKO stage left was jamming with D-B Dean.
Don't worry about not finding the studio version. These ladies are so insanely good live that live versions are actually preferred most of the time, as long as it isn't from the Bloodstock show or fan-cam!
Certainly impressed with them live. I almost watched the Bloodstock show just to see what you were talking about, but other commenters requested some songs for future reactions, so I'll have to save that for another time.
@@jakeofalltradesmusic I mean, it isn't terrible, and it is worth watching further down the road, just to see the old, more animated Miyako! But it definitely should not be the first taste of them live. If I remember the story correctly, when they played the Bloodstock Festival, they were originally scheduled to play a side stage, but were moved at the last minute to the main stage when the scheduled main stage band had to pull out (similar to what happened with Babymetal at Sonisphere). They didn't have time to do a sound check, and the sound was mixed for the other band, so the sound quality was very suboptimal for Lovebites.

My favorite guitar duo, " M & M, " Midori ( blonde ) & Miyako, they make my heart Smile..........❤🎙🎸🥁🎹😎👌
Yes this is the best double lead guitars playing especially LIVE! Wait till the M & M show shows off that harmonizing in total sync while picking, sweeping and tapping at insane speeds!! Petite women who wear whites dresses and HIGH HEELS to stand out from other bands and to be seen easier on stage. Asami/vocals is a 4' 10" Napoleon stage general and front person who controls the crowd, the band and the concert. She never sang metal as she was a backup RnB/Jazz/Souls singer who was an ex-ballerina student. She sings in English with an accent that you need to get use to. This band has insane talent and their 50+ catalog from 2017 has nothing that will disappoint in the Power, Speed, Thrash, Prog, Rock, Ballads, and even classical piano and metal. They are wonderful studio and MV but their LIVE performance are flawless perfection and they play like this for an entire 2 hour show in those high heels. Believe me, live is just fine with this group. Welcome to the best new metal band to come along in decades. In their five years of existence as a band, they set a standard that easily puts them on a par with the greatest bands of metal’s golden age. Other reviewers have described them as alien superheroes disguised as young women, angels sent to save us, princesses of metal, and angry bridesmaids. Whatever the description, I think one can say they have given metal a badly needed makeover and maybe a new lease on life. They have themselves said that part of their mission is to save heavy metal from darkness and obscurity. Some background:
They were formed in 2016 from the remnants of a legendary all-girl Japanese metal band called Destrose (yes, all-girl metal has been a thing in Japan since at least 1981). Miho (bass, chief headbanger and soul of the band) had a vision of a new band in the style of the greatest European bands of the golden age of metal. She recruited her former bandmate Haruna (drums, 4'9" “pocket nuclear reactor”); they needed two world-class guitarists, and so they went and found Midori and Miyako, who were with other bands. The whole group then found Asami, the singer, who was doing soul and blues at the time (she also trained in ballet). Miyako has composed most of their music, with Miho composing a lot of their thrashier songs in collaboration with Mao, the lead composer of another band called Lightbringer. Midori has also been getting into the act, and they regularly perform a song written by Haruna as well. Asami writes most of the lyrics.
They studied all the great historical metal bands going back to Purple and Sabbath, through Maiden, Priest, Metallica, Helloween, Slayer etc. They toured with Dragonforce in 2019, and word from those in attendance is that next time around, it will be the ladies headlining. They have incorporated some of the best of each of those bands into their arsenal, and have created a sound that is fresh and cutting edge while paying tribute to the old masters.
This is one of their usual first songs for reactors, and rightly so--you get a good sense of the band. They do everything from soulful power ballads to heavy thrash. Almost every song includes face-melting solos by Miyako and Midori. The two guitarists are quite different in style and tone. Midori (blonde ponytail) is the extrovert and speed demon; Miyako is the introvert, with the more soulful feel (though she can also shred like a demon). Midori uses a cleaner tone, Miyako uses more distortion, pinch harmonics and pedal effects. The contrast makes their duets rich and dynamic. It doesn’t hurt that either one can smoke most of the shredders in the classic metal bands. As another reviewer said, "It seems criminal these two are allowed to be in the same band."

Miyako is also a professional-level classical concert pianist, and was headed for a career in classical music, before picking up the guitar. Miyako wrote “Swan Song” using elements from several classical pieces including the Etude. I like the motto. It's one thing to pull off a sound in a studio, but it takes real skill and talent to replicate it consistently in front of a live audience, and that makes this a whole lot more impressive.

Kind of funny that you played a clip from Halestorm's "Love Bites", as that's the song that this band took their name from and the lead singer (Asami) has performed it on stage with Halestorm a few times. And yes, you figured it out, this band does not have a rhythm and a lead guitarist, both guitarists play rhythm and lead brilliantly well together (as well as Miyako, the dark haired guitarist, being a stunning piano and keyboard player). You're gonna get a load of recommendations, so enjoy the ride!
This first song was already quite a ride itself and I'm looking forward to the rest of the ride! I'm surprised they took the name from that song. I didn't know that factoid before I played that clip, so fun coincidence there.
Lovebites (and So Do I) is where they took their name from after Asami used it for her audition. What you hear on a studio track is what you'll hear live. In other words, they don't record something they can't play on stage (though they do sometimes use backing tracks that they record, usually keyboards, as Miyako (the dark-haired guitarist only has two sets of fingers 😄 ). While they consider themselves to be a metal band, in truth, their composing transcends genre by paying homage to classic metal without being confined or defined by it.

Their live performances are better than their music videos. This is rare quality that should be enjoyed. Lovebites have two lead guitarists, Midori the blonde and Miyako the dark hair. Miyako is also a world class concert pianist. We'll be looking for more reactions of Lovebites, maybe Holy War Live in Zepp Divercity.

Their music videos are very high quality but they have the sensation of being overly produced and they move too quickly from one musician to another so you don’t get the full enjoyment of watching their virtuosity. I could be wrong and that’s just me, watch one though to see for yourself as you might see it differently than my 69 year old eyeballs. Happy trails!

Set the World on Fire is not specially good in the album, not bad either. It works pretty good in the reactions because it's a kick in your face xD
Lovebites is very varied in styles, Thrash is not the only thing they do. They always show respect to the 80s metal, but you'll find also Hard Rock, Heavy Metal, Speed Metal, Power Metal or Power Ballads on their albums.
I recommend you to check Edge of the World next, a beautiful Power Ballad that shows Asami R&B background as a singer. With Lovebites take them live if you can, it's a show to watch them perform as you already experienced.

Hi Jake, greetings from the Netherlands. I enjoyed your reaction. I might have an interesting recommendation for you. Would you be interested in listening to some symphonic metal? Try Nightwish! They are a band from Finland and they’re top notch in this genre. Their singer is the Dutch Floor Jansen. She has one of the best female voices in metal today. Nightwish is very diverse, none of their songs are alike. There are epic and melodic songs, like the one I’m recommending now, but they can also go really heavy on you and the next song could be very celtic sounding or even jazzy. Their music is exceptionally well composed and arranged. Their musicality is outstanding and so is their lyrical content. Nightwish is best appreciated LIVE. Give the song ‘Ghost Love Score’ a try. I've heard a few songs by Nightwish. One song I came by several years ago that I was obsessed with for a while was "Bye Bye Beautiful." I haven't heard "Ghost Love Score" before though. I'll add it to the list :) Thanks for the suggestion!

She was replaced by Floor Jansen in 2012. If you haven't listened to Nightwish with Floor, you've been missing out on a lot. She'll blow your mind! Happy holidays and stay safe.
