I really appreciate your support of Nemophila. There are definitely differences between lives and music videos. I generally prefer their lives, but listen to everything. With that said, these women are so talented it if often difficult to hear differences between a live performance and their polished music videos. From a compositional standpoint, this is a little different than standard, but they never disappoint. This is one of my all time favorite bands for a reason. Love these women. ❤️🌸

what is the point of a live version that's exactly like the studio one? i love it when artists do different things when playing in front of an audience. i've watched acoustic versions, guitar+drums instead of full band, snapped strings, forgotten lyrics. it's all a fantastic experience. i love the c&c, wish more people did that. Zen 4ever!!!

I don't think there was a official postproduction done. This is not even an official live music video. You find a lot of aweful mixed live performances of Hanabie here on youtube. This is just what you get when you record these shows with a phone. Maybe this time they wanted offer a better sound quality. In a lot of these fan recorded performances you barely can notice the bass. Maybe here it was too much. Regarding the Electric Callboy video. The song from Rock am Ring was also first bad mixed, this time it was even a tv station, they later reuploaded a better mixed version. And from this took EC the video to their channel, if I remember everything correctly.

The songs already released earlier in the year are just Band-Maid awesomesauce! The six new songs are so tightly integrated and complex, it's going to take a Tokyo minute to assimilate. But I already love Forbidden Tale, and especially The One. 😉🤘 btw - We should all wish a "Good Luck" to Band-Maid's new self-run management company: Maidit, Co., LTD! Will they managing other bands, boost Cluppo and Maiko projects, or tour more internationally? Or maybe they will expand their business interest to other sectors of the music biz outside of Band-Maid. I believe Kanami wants to get more into composing, scoring and production. And as for Miku and Saiki, the sky's the limit for what they'll want to do in merch, fashion and art, etc.. Thx, Jake!

They were an indie band when they mad this video. So I'm sure it was made on a small budget. There is a fancam uploaded from their recent tour with Jinjer that has pretty good sound. It's deeper, and, more socially concious than the video makes it seem. "NEET" is an acronym for "No Employment, Education, or, Training".

Yukina has just been getting better and better through the years. I think one of the reasons why they were willing to go so hard with Tales of Villain on Reborn Superstar! is because Yukina was comfortable enough to perform it live. What's crazy she goes even harder now during the live even compared to the recording. She started out not being able to project that much but that has changed within the last year actually. Makes the lives 100x better since she can do volume control on her cleans and harsh vocals through moving the mic away instead of needing to eat the mic during the harsh vocal parts. Makes feedback on her mic way less likely.

Certain Hanabie songs utilize backtrack vocals even when they're performing them live. Basically the voices are just sampled as an instrument and it's only in the MV where you might see one of them lip-synching these lines. It's usually either frequently repeated things like this here or the chorus in Reiwa, or when Yukina screams alongside herself speaking like the last transition in We Love Sweets.

I would have clicked on this in a flash if it had come up, as it might well be my favouite song, ever. It's been out for two years but i'm still finding new things in it every time i hear it. The monumental elements in this song for me. Saiki's blink and stare before the change from back and white to colour. The hands of a spirit and a mortal finally touching. Then the orchestral style arrangement as a whole.

Saiki wrote the lyrics thinking about the music or songs created in the past and saved from their disappearance thanks to the transmission from generation to generation and Kanami wanted to express her reflexion about life through her music. Strangely the two ideas come together. I shouldn't explain that I understood this song from watching the MV but it's kind of true. I preferred another song from the Epic Narratives album for an MV. But I was wrong. One of the most beautiful MVs I have ever seen. Thanks Jake.

To this day, I don't understand why you don't have a hundred times more subscribers. You are humorous and a very good analyst, many times already!

You need to start a comedy skit channel for your intros. And the Ladies have evolved to new heights of mastery. Plus the video is so full of symbolism, that I am still unpacking everything. I very glad of other commenters to help explain things I missed on my first, second, through 50th viewings.

Great job, Jake! Really glad @kitsunedao3895 posted that Barks interview excerpt, it helps a lot in getting some of the motivation and feelings for a song that Kanami plotted so carefully. Like the stuff you mentioned about the through lines reaching across the "ups and downs" (as Kanami called them). The harmonies; that piercing note that could have gone on to be a solo; the mood swings. I'm still taking it all in.

I am emotionally in pieces, yet feel comforted and calm at the same time. This song is nothing short of a masterpiece and seriously one of the most beautiful things I have heard in my life. There is a purposefulness and maturity in this that few other artist have. How they can emotionally play me like a puppet on a string and make me feel things exactly the way they want is insane. I can't explain it, but this is perfect. Just perfect. Stunning.

For me their best track, I love a lot of other tracks on the album but this is something else, and loaded with feeling/meaning. The lyric video in particular could bring some understanding of the song (if you pay attn. to the visuals). Great reaction to an awesome group.

Nice one! I love this song; all 3 versions bring a slightly different feel. Great comparison, and yes, Su's voice is absolutely amazing, as always. With that metallic tint, she has that perfect "angelic" quality in Monochrome. Just beautiful. I'm sure others mentioned too, Momo wasn't official yet when they did the 1st Take. Also, the 3 hooded figures I believe, would represent the 3 Avengers, but no one knows for sure. 🤘🦊

As some have stated, the 3 figures aren't the avengers. However, Babymetal has a babysister group called Metalverse which is just starting out. If you go WAY back in Babymetal history, you find a version of their song called Headbanger, but its the Ave Marie version. In this version (you should check it out and react to if if you haven't already, very different, but very cool), The girls are wearing white robes. it is kind of an initiation into the Babymetal group for the girls... sort of... As a result, it is my personal belief that the 3 robed figures is paying homage to that moment in Babymetal history and the 3 figures are either the 3 Metalverse girls, or Momo is one of the robed girls (the tall one of course) and the other 2 are likely 2 of the metalverse girls, or who knows, maybe even the musclemetal girls (I don't remember what they are typically called, I'm tired and need to go to bed. My brain has shut down already lol). But I think its the metalverse girls personally.

It was a very smart idea to react to all three versions and I appreciate the time that you have put in it. We always say that you need to react to a live version because that is the strongest point of the group but the truth is that BM makes awesome music videos and sometimes special versions of their songs. You have to see them all for the big picture.

Excellent triple reaction! We believe ”that monochrome firework“ is a metaphor for a bomb. Today, BABYMETAL is invited to perform a concert at the U.S. military base in Futenma, Okinawa, which was a fierce battleground during the Pacific War. SU-METAL's requiem voice will echo through this place with this song.

In the live concert versions they often have an intro/interlude which logistically lets them catch their breath, hydrate and get ready for the next song.

Great reaction and comparison! I loved that it was plain to see how much Su's voice touched you, especially at the beginning of the first chorus of the piano version. I still feel like that every time, even though I have listened to it dozens of times. Su's voice has a quality that goes straight to my heart, and in combination with her skill to put emotion into it, it's deadly. These three videos do a great job at showing their flexibility and the different aspects of their fascinating appeal.

In past interviews, this song was started when YUIMETAL was still a member, and it is thought that the three in white symbolize the BABYMETAL of the past.🥲 I felt "prayer" from this song. I believe that if these three people join forces, we can bring cheer and smiles to the world 🌈. The world needs BABYMETAL now.🦊🌈😊

Kid, you REALLY need to get a better audio setup. How do you not hear all of that white noise in the background? It's so loud and distracting. Spend a few bucks and get a good microphone. Wow.

The "Monochrome firework" is the Hiroshima Nuclear bomb, and Su-metal is from Hiroshima and her Grandmother is a survivor. This is the underlying sadness and sombre tone. BUT, Su-metal says this should be seen as a happiness in the hardest of times - and in the live version she says in Japanese "light up the darkness with your light", then in English - turn on your phone light. The song although about a terrible subject with the mention of Ragnar , but should be a joyful - then last words being "just smile". Thank you for the contrast. I think the 3 cloaked people in the piano version are maybe the original members : Su, Moa, Yui, but of course could be the avengers. Yes, this is a beautiful power Ballard, if you want something on the same line then try "From dusk to dawn - live Budokan 2021 live" with a falsetto voice as well as her natural Soprano. If you want something "opposite" then try BMC (Budokan 2021 live), with heavy metal rap - on another level. Of course there is the standard "Rondo of nightmare - with mischiefs of gods" to hear the god tier bad (kami band) and Su-metal standing on a 2 meter stage high above the main stage singing about a recurring nightmare. - live budokan black night. Finally - Live is always best, and the best BM song is the one I am listening to at this moment.

Nice reactions. A triple feature cool. The lyric video made a lot of folks think about what this song is talking about. The imagery is amazing and tells a story. The striped down first take version is fantastic. Getting to hear Su sing like that showed just how emotional Su's vocals can be. Moa's vocals keep things calm and hold it together when you feel those tears welling up. No Momoko at least not yet. The live concert was when Momoko became Momometal. The part where Su is asking for everyone to help her light up this dark dark world is amazing. But the coolest thing is when Su and Moa are next to each other and Su reaches out to Momo to join them get me every time. Like hey you're a part of this now. Avenger dancer no longer. A great show of unity and the return of the Babymetal trio. The foxhole is deep and full of surprises.
