Funny enough, in the original game the play throughs actually do change based on what you did in your first. It was implemented very lazily in RE2 remake.
A big change of the original is that Mr X is a second play through ONLY character. You fight William in play through 1 and Mr X in play through 2.
That’s really interesting! When RE2 remake was coming out I thought Mr.X was a new addition but then learned later on that he was in the original release too. I always assumed that Mr.X was just in both play throughs though remake or not. Thanks for that info!
I was so Leon throughout RE2 remake where I was scared playing through a horror game for the first time not knowing what to expect while pretty sure I immediately started questioning my decision to buy this shit knowing I never liked horror while being forced to figure out how to manage my stuff and decide what to use now and what to save for later and also having to face my fear of walking down dark hallways while paranoid with monsters trying to kill and stalk me while the entire game of course takes place at night when the boogie man comes out to pissed off at the end of the game where they force you on a time limit to get out of the lab before it explodes while having that asshole Mr X on my ass again at the same time where Leon said "Is this a fucking joke!?" 😂
It was worth it because now I like resident evil and I like these characters now, Leon is best boy, Ethan is second best boy and best father, Rosemary is best daughter alongside Sherry who in RE6 is bae, Claire being one of the best and most attractive women in the series, Ada while doing my boy Leon so dirty at least added to his character and is s badass in her own right, Ashley in RE4 remake being way better than in the original and also the cutest best girl alongside Claire, Jill Valentine's being my Valentine and Leon needing to continue the Redfield bloodline 😄
The zombies were scary and annoying and forced you to always be on guard and make sure they're actually dead since the bastards love to fake you out, and mr x made me really understand how much I hate being relentlessly chased and he can go f*ck himself 😆
Honestly Resident Evil 2 remake is a horror game where it makes you think to only defend yourself and fight back when you have too which is a great concept walking down dark hallways the majority of the time overtime made me wish the game had more areas with light

I’m in the same boat. I hate horror because 90% of the time it’s lazy jumpscares or forced helpless run and hide simulators. But I’ve occasionally forced myself to complete games like the Dead Space Trilogy or the REMakes and had a pretty fun time due to fact you can actually do something to even things out if you’re smart.
I totally agree and that was a fear of mine getting into these games. I knew I would have a weapon on me at all times, but I didn’t know how the scares were going to be. It turns out this series is much more about moment to moment tension rather that straight up fear (most of the time lol) I’m almost done with my Re 4 remake video so I’ll go into my thoughts a little more there. I definitely want to try out the dead space games now more than ever one of these days and also try out those run and hide games you were mentioning. Alien isolation looks great, but I think I need to build up my tolerance a bit more for that! Thanks for the comment!
You should try re4 remake including separate ways dlc.
Definitely going to soon! I just finished playing RE4 Remake and I am finishing up a video on it now. I didn't play the DLC since I didn't know it came out until after I beat the main game, but I want to play it soon and make a short lil video on it too!
I like RE4 Remake dlc better than RE2 Remake cause it was playing another character's campaign while Leon was doing his whereas in 2, it's more so others surviving in alternate realities and feels really hard to survive with overload of enemies.

Campy and not that sacry but also extremely fun...plus pleese also play re1 remake... Its really fun .......and it has analog controls
I've always heard about those movies, but never watched any of them. They look like really fun campy horror movies! These games helped with my fear of horror as a genre so maybe I'll finally get around to them. In broad daylight though, still not fearless yet lol.
And playing Re1 was something I didn't think I would be open to doing but I think nowadays it's something that does interest me. Maybe one day I'll make a video about it but we'll see because I really make videos on other topics soon too!
RE3R is a lazy cash grab. Mediocre independent game, average RE2R sequel, atrocious remake. RE3 is my favorite and when I experienced how cut down the remake was I was baffled. Everything was downgraded except the dodge and most of the characterizations. The hospital was technically expanded upon but it was still restricted and the rest of the original should've had the same treatment. And Nemesis was a cutscene obstacle as opposed to the constant pursuit of Mr. X he SHOULD HAVE BEEN or even the original's semi randomization. His entire screentime should have been active in a wider non-linear area like the single time it was which is what the demo used
I swear the Resident Evil 2, 3 and 4 remake are just some moron trying to recreate Resident Evil from memory. Half the game is there but the other half is gone.
Alien Isolation and Amnesia: The Bunker (the newer one) are the scariest games I’ve played. Highly recommend them both
