I went to see The Nutcracker at London Collisium over Christmas (2023) by National Ballet Company. The music by Tchaikovsky was wonderful and uplifting and the ballet superb. Just magical. Something I wanted to see all my life and will never forget.

I was a young man (elementary school) when my parents took me to see The Nutcracker. The scenery and actors were good, but what I remember loving was the music. It was a very long ballet for a boy, but I never noticed because the music was (is) so wonderful. 🙂

The best ballet version of this I ever saw was Mikhail Baryshnikov on a PBS Special in I think 1977? He was such a strong, athletic dancer.

I saw the Nutcracker performed at Lincoln Center, it was beautiful beyond words and brought me to tears. Its not Christmas without listening to this masterpiece.

Хватит транслировать чушь про "не принимали", умоляю. Чайковский был почти придворным композитором Александра, с непререкаемым авторитетом, обожаемый народом и очень популярным. И это в то время, когда возможность услышать Чайковского была только у высшего света, да и то, зачастую, при покупке нот и разучивании нового произведения, не в оркестровой обработке.
