With this mod it’s just like the regular Taurus but much cooler , being an interceptor

I need some help with some wiring in the center console that way I can hook up my power outlets
Have had this for a year w/ back up camera. Works great. Just be careful to mark all harnesses on factory unit before you pull them off. There should be about 3 + an antenna plug. You’ll have to take all the front panels off including the cover the speedo. Also, if have the civvie console, you’ll need to take the top off of that as well. Install time - about 45min to take dash apart, about an hour to review-run and tidy up all wiring. About 20 min to put dash back together.
Installing rear view camera depends on your skill, as you need to remove a front and rear seat and you’ll probably want the dashcam trim for the decklid. Haven’t installed my backup camera yet as I want to take all seats/carpet out and install sound mat before I run the backup camera.
Overall, works very well - only downside is that due to the android system not maintaining power when the vehicle is off, AC no longer comes on when you remote start the car. Decent trade off for having a very capable Apple/Android player.
Overall, CarNavi tech support is fairly responsive and support is decent.

Tips + Quirks:
- unit stays powered on 20 min after you turn off your car, Ford logo + Google logo E’s will display when unit boots off. If you turn car back on prior to 20 min you won’t see a boot screen
- Use an old egg carton to store all the screw’s you take out. Use a sharpie to label which screw goes where
- you can’t set the time directly, you can set your region only - it takes about 3-4 minutes for the GPS antenna to pick up a satellite and it will then update your clock.
- you lose the AC coming on when you remote start your car. That’s because the unit loses power after 20 min when the car auto powers off so it doesn’t know to start your climate control
- backup camera, order the factory backup trim and replace the Ford camera with the CarNavi camera
- Apple CarPlay works great, stereo sound is incredible with just the factory speakers
- you can load movies and music into this system, via the USB connection, but why bother? You can download any streaming app to the unit via the Google Play store. I’ve use Plex, so I downloaded that. You can also enable TH-cam in the user app settings - it is disabled by default. At least it was in mine.
- Front camera dashcam app won’t record no matter what card you put it in because for some reason it doesn’t recognize any of the cards
- dimming the screen, swipe down with your finder from the top of the screen, there are like 3 setting hi-med-off. There’s also a new update which lets you swipe down again from the brightness setting and displays a slider to custom adjust the brightness.
- Android is a quirky OS and sometimes this thing just just boot properly. Swiping down from the top you’ll see on the far right an option to reboot.
- there is an included app to set your steering wheel buttons. Don’t mess with it. It should already be set for the mute/vol/media/scan functions. Mess with it at your own risk - as if you hork it up you’ll never get it right again
- Playstore is fun. Just be careful what apps you add
- disconnecting your phone from the CarNavi, simply turn off your Bluetooth and WiFi on your phone. I am planning on adding a separate 5g hotspot just for the CarNavi and other users. FYI, you will not be able to access CarPlay unless pair your phone to the CarNavi
- everything happens thru the canbus of your car. Even the emergency flashers. Be careful what mods you add and what you mess with.
- CD player doesn’t work on mine, but meh. I have Apple Music, Spotify and all the music I want to hear stored on my phone.
- Waze can be buggy and freeze sometimes via CarPlay. I set the CarNavi to use Google.
