- It's been 6 months and 10,000 miles later. How has my Jaguar X-type estate been to live with? Any problems with it? Is it leaving the channel and being replaced?

The diesel two wheel drive has traction control which locks the rear wheels when grip is lost to either front wheel, transferring traction to to the rear until the front wheels are back in traction .
I use mine in Winter here in England, and it's amazingly sticky on ice and snow.
I've never been stuck in snow or skidded on ice. Watch Clarkson review one on an old episode of Top Gear, he was amazed at it's capabilities.
Sad to see the estate go. Great looking car inside and out.
A touring wagon. Nice. Check out some different glass frames. A different outlook can always make a positive difference. Good to see your doing well.
Didn't know they made an X type wagon. Looks great!
I had a base spec 2.5 petrol version for a couple of years - same colour as your one. Really good car that served me well. I personally cannot abide diesel engines, so the petrol version was ideal as it is a lot quieter and smoother. I replaced it with an S- type - my favourite Jag
I rode in the back of a friend’s 2007 Ford Focus on Sunday… very capable stylish car but very firm seats especially the backs… I guess that explains the feel of the X-Type…
ran one of these for 7 years but the 2.0ltr it was a great car, put lots of miles on it, clutch and dual mass flywheel changed arond the 120k mark, down side it was worth next to nothing when I wanted to move it on.
Hi Adam, nice vid. I never gave the X Type much notice, as it was pretty much a Ford, as I understand. But your vids have enlightened me, and thanks for that. You say you will miss the X Type Estate, will the kids miss it ? ;)
You should try an Alfa 159 Sportwagon. IMO great looking cars, interesting interior and drive well. You can also get an AWD version if you search. You’re not a petrolhead until you’ve owned an Alfa.
I do love Alfas! My first car was an Alfa Spider
Sad to see the X-type go, but would be worse if it was a 3.0 AWD as I don't like diesels.
The diesel wasn't that popular here in the Netherlands as road tax for diesels is very high here.
Hi Adam, great vid and I'm glad you were very positive about the x type. I have a 2 .2D estate too and love it, so much so I want to drive it thru
europe and leave it in Romania at my partners flat for when we are there. They wont allow right hand drives to be resident there now so Im looking for a left hooker if you getting rid of it. I know my x types as I have had 4 now. Im in London and can still drive my diesel free even with this bloody ULEZ
Ideal family car. I can see why you would need 4 wheel drive though and diesel wouldn't be my choice either. Does look good though.
These are just so uncommon in the U.S., but I wish I could find a decent one locally.
Aren't these a Mondeo with a Jaggy body, FWD ? Diesel? 4WD?
Hi! If its for sale I am interested! Thanks
Interesting comment from Davidnelson 7149 Adam . But l think your mind is made up . I recall one of my work mates told me his son had one new and was very impressed . not only with it's performance but it's economy . Thanks Adam
I think you are getting a Land Rover.
I agree that seats in newer cars are uncomfortable. It's not a bad thing to let go of this one, because, as it's a Mondeo, it has a good tendency to rust away. Have fun!
Its not a mondeo, makes me laugh how people have an obsession that it a mondeo, its based on a mondeo,oh and mondeos are actually great cars to by the way.sad to see this go,amazed you done 10000 miles allready.i go to work in my car every day and dont even do 5000 miles a year.
@@ivanfernyhough3851 Whoa! I'm not saying that a Mondeo is a bad car, I'm only saying that they have a good tendency to rust.
