I went to high school with Owen. One of the nicest, most down to earth guys you will ever meet. He deserves all that gear. Glad to see more people enjoying the outdoors
I happen to be related to Owen as well as the young man to whom he provides care. I am immensely proud of both of them and ecstatic for Owen. Thanks for doing what you do!
Hey there! I stumbled upon a new project that might interest you. Have you heard about the Freebeat Morph 2-in-1 eBike? It's an incredible innovation in the world of cycling, combining indoor fitness and outdoor exploration like never before. What stands out to me is the indoor recharge feature, allowing you to charge the bike while using it indoors. Plus, the brushless 750W motor and puncture-resistant fat tires make for an exhilarating and smooth ride in any terrain. I'm really excited to see Owen and the young man he cares for having such a positive impact. Keep up the fantastic work!
First of all, Dan, I'm so glad you had this wild idea. I say "wild" because it could of been a little dangerous, lol. But we need to believe in the good, right?! 2nd of all, I'm proud of my son looking at me and saying, "Mom, I need to do this." But he had to work that day and originally he knew he had to take care of his responsibilities first...but soon he couldn't handle the adrenilian of adventure and opportunity ahead which led him to call his employer and explain why this was something he had to do. They are great people and said, no problem. (Thanks guys!) He soon after talking with me called his dad and said, I'm taking off and heading to Mosquito Beach campground to camp with this "guy". We, as his parents were thrilled to see our young son understand the need for adventure, the ability to be spontaneous, have an idea what is a good choice vs something a little too dangerous, and the importance of letting us know where he is going. We want our kids to see the world and to do that they have to make and except opportunity. With that said, there was a point we were not able to contact him for a few hours and Owen's dad called me from work and said he was getting worried. I assured him there was nothing to worry about until at least 2:00 pm. (I thought that would give a bunch of people who didn't know each other time to wake up, chit chat about their adventures and pack up and hike out back to their cars.) But I didn't tell Owen's dad as soon as we hung up, I researched Dan Becker on TH-cam. Lol. Dan you did not appear to be a scary person, I was so very thankful for that. Lol Anyway, Owen called shortly after all that craziness and told me he was the only one that showed up, had an awesome time, and they were hiking back and going to lunch. I told him I was glad he called and we would hear all about his adventure when we connected at at home and that I was happy he called before 2:00. Lol. My kids like to do a lot of things and so do my husband and I. I've stressed so many times that we need to do with what we have and not let what we don't have stop us. If anything, we will learn what the most important things are we absolutely need to do what we like and make improvements from there. (I say that partly to save money, and to see how interested we really are in something before we buy "stock".) But what you did for Owen is beyond what I could ever have done. You took one of his interest, showed him how much it adds to his life, how it can impact others, spoke with him about our glorious creator in heaven, AND guaranteed the ability for him to create new adventures for himself and others with the contacts you made for gear to set him up right! So many great people! I just needed and wanted to say, thank you. 😊 Owen's Mom. P.S. I told him we should send you cookies at Christmas. Lol
I was glowing with happiness at this video, and at you and your family’s comments… but when I read that Dan shared his faith with Owen, it really choked me up and elevated my joy to the heavens!! ❤️❤️ Thanks Dan, for being who you were created to be! As a Scoutmaster down in Marietta, GA, and a dad of Eagles Owen's age (and a follower of Dan's journey), this was a great one. Blessings to all involved. Great to see the vendors step up!
Oh, Owen’s mom, I love hearing your account of the experience from your side so much. No wonder you are so proud of your boy. Congratulations on raising and continuing to support the growth and adventures of a great human.
Dan. The direction you've taken these last months (even by happenstance in this case) to use your platform to bless others...is simply awe-inspiring. You are a bright light in an otherwise very dark web-world. Thanks once again for being hands & feet.
@@iSpritz your shallow response saddens me bc its obvious no one has ever told you, or showed you, they believe in you. NEVER underestimate that power... believing in someone. Sometimes its as easy as saying it, other times, its just may be gifting something they need or taking someone out to lunch who is going thru a rough time, and just showing them a bright spot. This kid has 2 jobs, noble ones at that, and doesn't complain, drove 6 hours to learn more about something he is genuinely interested in... and then a big YTer gives him some equipment?? do you have any fking idea how huge that is for just morale alone? Wow! What a great kid! Owen is a dream and hugely shows what an Eagle Scout is! Having been with Scouting for over 40 years, yes I’m a woman, I saw 27 young men attain Eagle. As a recipient of the “BSA Silver Beaver” this made me tear up. I’m 67 now and my camping/backpacking life is still going strong. God Bless Dan.
I started crying when you, Dan started making contact with all those generous people! Durston tents, Outdoor Vitals, REI, & You!! He so deserves this kindness… the fact that he said it would have been worth the six hour drive without receiving anything is a testament to his humbleness…what a great fellow!!
Waaaaoooow! How awesome was that. When i saw Dan's message announcing that, I was picturing a huge flock of ppl. It being just one guy who loves backpacking but didn't have the means to get into all his dream gear, and then Dan goes out of his way like that?! God's hand was all over that one!

This was fun to watch Dan. Being a Scout Leader, I see many young people with great hearts for service to others. It is encouraging to know that these young people are the leaders of tomorrow. When a Scout attains the rank of Eagle Scout, they usually take the Eagle Scout Oath. In this oath, they reaffirm the promises in the Scout Oath. Just in this short video, it looks like Owen is really living up to that as an Eagle Scout, so kudos to him on a job well done. Keep up the Great Work Owen! And thanks for another great video Dan!
That was a good video Dan. He was a good kid you could tell. My son is 24 and Autistic. He lives in his own place but on family land so he always has family right next door. So glad you and your connections helped him out! God Bless.
Makes me happy dude. Love to see the inspiration at work. I've been a hiker/outdoors guy my whole life. I love that this kid was brave enough to show up to where you were. Just makes me happy inside. Thanks for the video.
A yuge shoutout to Dan, Emmitt, and all the participating companies that combined to cap-off a great weekend for Owen! He seems like a great young man! I'd like to see a follow-up video with him in a year or so!
What a touching story! I was smiling ear to ear watching this, and then came the waterworks! I appreciate your channel so much. The content you share brings joy, happiness, and all around GOODNESS to all who watch. Thank you for what you do.

Dan, I was watching this on my TV and couldn’t comment so I jumped on my phone to say this was such a great video. From your initial experiment and authentic feelings about it, to meeting Owen who is a very cool kid, to you hooking him up with all those willing brands. Awesome. Thanks, man. Glad you’re doing well and still making videos with personality.
I live in the UK and had to google an Eagle scout. What an incredible young man and completely deserving of everything. Massive kudos to all the companies involved and to Dan for making it happen
Gift-giving is actually the best. Getting to know the person as you did and personalising the gift to his interest, must have given you as much joy as it obviously did him.😊
Dan you are the most standup guy and usually I’d be so bitter and jealous about someone getting free gear but this kid clearly deserves all of it. Both you guys inspired me to be awesome to someone today. Emmett you inspire me too don’t forget Emmett!!!
Dudes that was such a sweet story! As a full time caregiver to my daughter Lily (20 year old survivor of a mitochondrial disease) I know firsthand that caring for another human being with special needs is a challenging endeavor - BUT a very rewarding one as well. Owen has a heart of gold and this story sorta kinda made some wet stuff roll down my face but probably allergies. Best video on TH-cam yet! Keep on trekking, Dan thee Man. You are a hero, Owen! Getting ready for an adventure through the Wind River WY while my daughter attends a MDA camp 🤙🏽
Hey Owen! Good to see you in a video. That's so awesome you go the chance to go out. @Dan, this was one of my favorite videos you've done yet. Super feel good video here!
Dan, your generosity of heart and spirit never ceases to amaze me. What a great gesture on your part and the outfitters that are supporting these gifts. I will visit my local REI in North Conway, NH and mention this gesture and then buy something as well for my own trip later this month.
Dan giving back to the community 👏 such an insanely generous individual, i hope that young man comes back to your next community camp outing , Dan you rock bro
Wow Dan! You are so generous and it was so well deserved. Owen is such a great young man and I think this meeting was by His Design. You're creating the next generation of backpackers. Thank you for sharing, and just for being you!
Genuinely my favorite video you've made so far. And you're absolutely right, us eagle scouts tend to be pretty decent folks. Thanks for the awesome content!
Dan, your video popped up in my feed. I am so glad I watched it. Brought tears to my eyes and warmth to my heart to see you blessing this young man. God Bless you.
How could this video not make you smile! Owen was such a wholesome likable kid. Really awesome you guys set him up with some gear! Really fun video Dan!
This was such a wonderful story. Owen is an amazing young man and it was great that you and the outdoor companies were able to fill his dream gear list. I have a son with autism who is also a Scout, last year he earned the Grey Wolf badge which is the premier badge for Cubs here is Australia, he really enjoyed this video too. Thankyou Dan❤
The unequivocally joy radiating through this video is one of the most awesome things I have ever seen. As an Eagle Scout myself and one of many who’s happy place is in the outdoors, I smiled from beginning to end. It’s experiences like these that just make the outdoors so magical. Spending time with buddies around a campfire, forging new friendships, and strengthening old ones just make it all so fun. Dan, thank you for giving us all this inspiring opportunity to witness a good turn, and Owen, let this be a road to new ventures and eternal memories!!
I remember when I worked as a caregiver and it took me two years to save up to afford to buy a legitimate backpacking pack. Even though you were always making gear videos at the time, they were instrumental to the beginnings of my journey into backpacking, despite the fact that I never bought a single gear item from your videos! This story is so inspirational, Dan. I'm so glad you put yourself out there to do a meet up and I think Owen put himself out there too because you've been an inspiration to him and he is young and took a leap of faith to meet you since your videos are a pretty important part of his life. That's just too wholesome not to write home about. Thanks for your kindness, Dan, and the kindness of all the sponsors who chose to participate in the giving.
If you had been in my area I would have been there...not because I see what happened with Owen but I'd love to meet you and Emmett! I enjoy camping and backpacking so much and really respect the person you are Dan. Keep inspiring all of us to pay it forward!
OMG! I cried at the end when you revealed your plan 😭 You have the biggest heart, Dan! Thank you so much for doing this and to all the brands who pitched in. We forget how fortunate we are to be able to afford all the best gear so that we can do the thing we love most. Some people don't have that and can only dream of it. I love brands who care about getting people outdoors and who are generous enough to support people in that journey. Inclusivity also means including people who cannot otherwise afford to enjoy the outdoors. I'm glad I already support the companies you got the gear from. I will continue to support them and recommend them to all of my friends and my students. Love this video ❤
That was such a sweet thing for you to do for him!!! Heart warming. And brought tears to my eyes. That young man certainly deserves everything you were able to get for him. I wish him many years of SAFE and happy, healthy years of hiking n back packing.
This is the best video I’ve seen in awhile. Thank you Dan for being such a wonderful steward for the outdoors and paying it forward to a deserving person
This was such a wonderful video to watch. I cried at the end. It was obvious throughout the video how grateful he was for the time that he spent with you. You’re a good man for making sure this young man got hooked up with some nice gear. I hope to see him again in one of your future videos.
What an amazingly genuine nice kid! You were really blessed Dan Becker to get such a nice wonderful person to meet with you. Thank you for being so kind to him.
That was so nice to watch! Dan, one thing that stood out to me was you invited everyone to come by; one man did. Your meeting Owen (bless his heart) highlights quality over quantity. Glad you all got to meet each other. Good on the companies for the gear as well! 😊😊😊
I have been watching for a long time and I had to comment on this video. I thought it was going to be something completely different than what it was. What a great young man and kudos to his parents. The world needs more and more of this guy. So happy that you are in a position to propel him on his journey. What a deserving, caring individual. I’ve watched it a few times and it brings a smile every time. Thank you for this.
I enjoyed watching this video, awesome turn out and I think you got a more quality video meeting one person rather than many, super cool for all those companies to change this guy's year. Much respect brother
Just feels good to see such a genuinely good kid, and a wholesome interaction with Dan. Couldn’t have chosen a better human to gift all that equipment to. I’m sure he’ll get plenty of use out of it. Awesome video!!
Yes this had all the feels..had me in tears at the end. This was definitely a Godwink experience and I was so happy that Dan and all the vendors were part of this young man's beginning backpacking journey. It just takes a moment to help another.Who knows what amazing things may come out if this!!! I can't wait to find out!
Hi Dan, what a creative idea for a video, and aren't we all glad that it turned out as it did! Thanks for introducing us to Owen. You are a Prince for getting him outfitted with top-notch gear, from his own wish list no less! I've noted the suppliers who helped, and I'll go to them first when I'm looking for gear.
Now that I've watched the entire video...I was chocked up. I am a retired life skills elementary and middle school special education teacher working with a full array of children/teens have a chance where no one was training them on the basic self-care needs, communication systems and self-regulation to be available for education and ongoing reach of potential. I've also come alongside adults of all ages, including the elderly with special needs, so my heart was deeply touched. There is a cost giving all to guide others to be embraced as contributing members of society, transitioning society from a "those/them" mentality to "we/us" belief. I cried at his reaction, he didn't see it coming, even after the first gift. True testament of how special of a young man he is. I saw his younger brother's comment below. He's blessed, too.
Dan, you are the man to do something like this for him or anybody! You have a big heart. Awesome life experience to for this young man and your kindness.
What an amazing gesture for such a deserving person - you have such a great heart! I saw your post about this trip and was SO tempted to join, but I’m 8 hours away and had just been up there the week before doing my first ever backpacking trip through the park on the NCT and was coming BACK up the following week for 4th of July week in Munising with my son. 😂 Too bad because I would have loved to meet Owen and shake his hand; my son has autism and I have a soft spot for people who do the work he does. ❤ Thanks to you for a great video and for being an awesome human, and I’m happy to see you back out on trail!
The story in this adventure is definitely one of a kind, truly heartwarming. I'm looking forward to a followup video with Dan, Owen & all his new gear. Warm Regards from Reno, Nevada
One of your very best videos and ideas to date! Had me tearing up! You're such a wonderful man Dan to help out this well deserving young guy a head start on future adventures! Thank you!

I live in the UK and had to google an Eagle scout. What an incredible young man and completely deserving of everything. Massive kudos to all the companies involved and to Dan for making it happen
Gift-giving is actually the best. Getting to know the person as you did and personalising the gift to his interest, must have given you as much joy as it obviously did him.😊
Wow, you leveled up his inventory! Such a nice guy, and you too. Great video.
Dan you are the most standup guy and usually I’d be so bitter and jealous about someone getting free gear but this kid clearly deserves all of it. Both you guys inspired me to be awesome to someone today. Emmett you inspire me too don’t forget Emmett!!!
@@iSpritz ? Middle class usually but not in joe bidens America
First time I’ve ever cried because of a Dan Becker video. What a wonderful gift for both of you.
At the 12 minute mark, I actually started tearing up. Very cool, brother!🙏🏻😇edited: bawling by the end!
Ditto. There were tears. So uplifting to be reminded that there are plenty of good people out there. Thanks Dan and all the companies that helped!

Same!!!
Yuuup
Me to!
Parents raised a great young man.
Your videos make me so happy to see such kindness in the world!
Owen totally seems like a solid individual. I can't think of a single person more deserving. Thanks for this vid.
Hey Owen! Good to see you in a video. That's so awesome you go the chance to go out. @Dan, this was one of my favorite videos you've done yet. Super feel good video here!
Now isn't this the Dan-diest thing ever. Man, Dan, you ARE a good guy. Keep it coming....love to see that Dan smile out in the outdoors. DAN RULES!!!
What a great story. Thanks so much for sharing and for helping Owen on his journey.
Dan, We need more people who are as generous as you! It is also great to hear about the suppliers who came to bat for Owen!
Such a very kind and generous person, helping another kind and giving person🌻
Glad to see you’re doing better and are back on trail Dan! What an awesome guy, he totally deserves that gear, great video :)
I came to be shocked and I left with some tears in my eyes. That kid deserved every bit of the gear you got for him. I appreciate everything you did.
Incredible, Dan. I love to see people uplifting other people. One of my favorite videos to date. Keep it up, buddy.
So much love in this video, God Bless you all. Thanks for the video, much enjoyed
Beautiful story. Such a great young man. God bless everyone.
Waaay cool Dan! Nothing better for the soul than to be able to give to someone who is truly deserving. Mad respect!
Paying it forward and spreading the love.....we need more of this.
This ranks up there with the Sawyer videos! So great to see you able to bless this kid. He is certainly deserving of the blessing.
Next time Dan posts location..456 campers will be standing waiting for him!😂 Well done Dan! Cheers-southwest Michigan!
Thank you Dan, well deserved gifts and blessing meeting between you both.
Beyond cool, good on you and those companies for helping out ❤
I remember when I worked as a caregiver and it took me two years to save up to afford to buy a legitimate backpacking pack.
Dan, the best video ever. I am wiping tears. Thank You Owen, what an amazing man.
Best video yet. Love it. There are great hard working young people in America still. Awesome.
Paying it forward Dan, love it! Great kid by the way and I'm sure he'll pay it forward too. Thanks for sharing a great video.
This makes my heart sing! Thank you for your big heart, sharing with his!!!
Dan, you are a good man to help out this young guy, who is also very deserving. Bravo to you and Congratulations to Owen. :)
That was so nice to watch! Dan, one thing that stood out to me was you invited everyone to come by; one man did. Your meeting Owen (bless his heart) highlights quality over quantity. Glad you all got to meet each other. Good on the companies for the gear as well! 😊😊😊
One of the nicest things I've seen in a while. Good Kid. All the best to him. He's got a lot of character and will do well in life.
Tears!!! This is brilliant!! What a lovely young man!!! Thanks Dan for doing this, so wonderful!! ❤❤
Dan, that was great. Glad you’re feeling better, glad you’re paying it forward.
This has to be my favorite video - what a wonderful chance meeting - hugs to all of you!
Thank you for this.
awesome that he showed up and even more awesome that you helped him out like that, yall are amazing people.
I enjoyed watching this video, awesome turn out and I think you got a more quality video meeting one person rather than many, super cool for all those companies to change this guy's year. Much respect brother
Good on you for taking a chance on people who follow your channel. Cool way to do a meet and greet. Love it!!! Bless you Brother!!!
Just feels good to see such a genuinely good kid, and a wholesome interaction with Dan. Couldn’t have chosen a better human to gift all that equipment to. I’m sure he’ll get plenty of use out of it. Awesome video!!
This is amazing. Good job Dan. Spread the love. The world needs it.
Great young man deserves everything you guys gave him.
Such a feel good gesture Dan. You're one good dude. And that kid deserved everything he got.
Dan, you are the man to do something like this for him or anybody! You have a big heart. Awesome life experience to for this young man and your kindness.
Crying at the DMV…Dan you are Ana awesome person and that young man certainly deserved the good fortune!
This is so lovely, I'm at home with a cold at the moment and watching this has made me a little teary!
Awesome! By far one of the best videos I've seen. Owen seems like a great kid. Glad you were able to help him out.
I love this!!! Thank you to all! This is so wonderful and what a wonderful young man!
This turned so wholesome real quick. Much love to Owen!
One of your very best videos and ideas to date! Had me tearing up! You're such a wonderful man Dan to help out this well deserving young guy a head start on future adventures! Thank you!
Dan, You can never go wrong helping out an Eagle scout! Great gesture on your part. Its' about what we give not what we take! 👋
