    Lovely car and lovely colour. Very clean boot. Great condition. I loved your magic carpet ride discription. I alway thought that was a great ride discription of those very early XJ6 in the 70's Many a critique described the ride simlar to a Rolls Royce Shadow. And I fell in love wth Jaguars for that soft wafty ride. Especially when more speed limits were introduced and we were told we could not speed anymore. I decided to just enjoy the unique comfortable ride.

    I really want an old Series Jag in this shade of blue. But I like the red too. Oh never mind, I think I'll need to buy 2 of these! :)

    Loved our early SWB S2. We did lots of interstate trips with it towing our race bikes & it never let us down. My husband fitted a 1" front sway bar that transformed the cornering without detracting from the lovely ride. We only sold it as we needed air-con in our later years & replaced it with a X300 4.0 Sport & a XKR. I am sure you will love your car.

      I had a 1" sway in my old s1 sprinter, made the world of difference.The replacements were good choices👍

    You got a good honest car there Brett. Lots of work done to what is a sound car. Great underneath and wood and leather look good too. Just a few jobs to make it really nice.

    My LWB '76 series 2 l bought in 2008 needed inner and outer rear arches, new sills , fabricating and welding in inner sill sections , new rear centre valance front radiator support crossmember , local repairs to the front outer door skins , fabricating a new o/s outer chassis leg section . , new headlining and a repaint less roof . Yours doesn't !!! In 1970 l started training as a panelbeater at a Jaguar main dealer and as you know the series 2 SWB had a very brief run .ln1974 we were offered brand new SWB bodyshells with all opening panels for £200 ! My favourite Jaguar was my '69 series 1 4.2 auto .Thankyou

    Loving your Jaguar vids…I drive a 2006 xj as a daily driver… had a few 90s XJs including 2 XJRs got my eye on a stunning 1974 series 2 in XJ12 in Turquise… been trying not to go and see it because I will want it 31 k miles from new

    Well Brett that's a seriously early series2 as my rare long wheelbase series1 xj6 was a special-order car built basically as a 6 cylinder Jaguar badged, non vinyl roof Vanden Plas, complete with the taller backed Vanden Plas 4 bucket seat interior, plus the guy who ordered it wanted the mk10/420G triple carb set up from the factory and fitted with the factory high performance bronze not alloy head, its ADR compliance build plaque said 4/74 so a series 1 completed months after a series 2 !!! It's a nice addition to your fleet, you barely see any series 2's on the road now, let alone a SWB version as when the 2 door coupe was dropped so was the swb sedan as the big market, the USA only wanted the long wheelbase sedans.

    MANNNNNN that thing is cleannnnn!!!!! Congrats Brett!!!! As far as I'm concerned you and Adam have the best XJ channels on youtube! So I'm around the world in Wisconsin, and I just wanted to share that I picked up a series 1 a few years ago, and finally got it on the road!!! Scope the last couple videos on my channel, would love to hear your thoughts on the thing!

      Mate, I just realised I have already watched your videos on the Primrose XJ6. What a find! The triple SUs and a manual to boot. It's great to see the younger generation get involved in these old things. Keep the videos coming! Adam was my inspiration to start the channel!

    Great that you bought it and got it home. Really good that so much hard work has already been done. Believe me that has saved you an arm and a leg. I started up my S1 after about 3 months ( the fuel 99 octane had gone off in the carbs ) when I was doing the new steering rack and all new bush renewal and noticed that oil had pissed out around the oil filter ( it's the original canister type ). So it's in bits while waiting for parts to arrive. Hoping to get it running before the cold weather arrives here in Scotland. Great video, thanks again. Geoff

      Those cartridge types can be a bugger to seal

    • @thevauxhallman7157
      @thevauxhallman7157 10 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @tjmthejagmandownunder canister I said. You said cartridge ( the self contained internal screw type would be a lot easier and better but it's obtaining a kit at reasonable price that's a problem.

    Very evident, the previous owner spent massive hours AND money on the car! I have never bought a car that was 100%! This one is close overall!

    Still thinking manual conversion ? Fantastic purchase, beautiful things. two friends of mine went to a Jag display recently near Canberra ? anyway not car people at all and they were showing me pictures from the show explaining that this photo is an E-Type and it is the most beautiful car they have ever seen... pointing out the curves. ( they drive a Tesla )
