When you're in Budapest, a Danube river
cruise is a must.
Book your Danube river cruise in advance.
Better to book from reliable sources/ websites like @getyourguide We booked ours from GYG.
Our tickets included a welcome drink each, and it was 11 euros per person.
Choose the cruise time right during the sunset/right before sunset. Then you'll get the best view. We chose 8:30 pm in mid-May.
Remember the lights of the monuments/ buildings are switched off around 10 PM (differs depending on the season) so please do some research before booking your cruise.
Reach the cruise starting point well ahead of time because people queue up there and the sooner you reach, the more are the chances to get seats with the best view.
Usually the cruise company offers a welcome drink and it's included in your tickets. You can choose alcohol or soft drinks.
You can also book tickets with snacks or can buy unlimited snacks/drinks onboard.
Monuments/buildings you'll pass by are Margaret Bridge, Buda Castle, Castle Bazaar, Gallert Hill, Budapest University of Technology and Economics, Corvinus University of Budapest, Vigadó Concert Hall, Hungarian Academy of Sciences, and Hungarian Parliament Building.
Unfortunately these cruises are mostly not suitable for wheelchair users so please check the details before booking tickets.
Lastly, enjoy panoramic views from the open deck, take lots of photos, and create a beautiful memory
