That’s true. I don’t understand why it’s so difficult to make a decent mic. Especially in this price point. However, I returned the Corsairs after two hours because they sounded like absolute trash and I couldn’t fix a couple technical issues. The new TB set is awesome.
I would normally agree, but I saw a review on the 2023 version of Razer Blackshark yeasterday. Literally groundbreraking. Blew my mind given Razer NEVER makes quality in my opinion. Definitly refreshing
0:23 - Try the Wicked Cushions FreeZe replacement ear pads for the Nova Pro Wireless. Much more comfortable than the stock cushions and thicker so you don’t feel the mic nubs inside the ear cups.
The Nova Pros are a helpless case no matter the earpads u swap to... TERRIBLE audio and even worse mic.. Reviews on this headset is 100% bought, becasue no one with good ears could give that headset more then 3/10 and then im nice.
I've owned and used the Arctis Nova Pro, the Maxwell, and this, and for my money, this is the best all around headset on the market. My only complaint is that when you switch back to PC/PS5/XSS from a bluetooth signal, I sometimes get a l sometimes get a bunch of static in the sound and have to restart the headset. The swappable battery life being shorter than the Nova Pro Wireless is a non issue, as the second battery is always ready to go. If battery life is over 20 hours, why even bother with swappable batteries unless you're averaging over 20 hours a day with your headset on? For immersive sound with excellent positional audio, this is the way to go. My ears don't heat up like they did with the Stealth 700 Gen 2, and the clamp is nowhere near as bad. The ANC is very good. Not as good as Bose, but still quite good. Turtle Beach has steadily been patching the firmware to add and improve functionality, such as adding in the second output so that you can use game to chat mix on the PC, and making it so that settings are saved for the next time you use the headset. The app on the phone has worked very well, and I love all the functionality for both PC and console use (anything that is on the PC app is also on the phone app for consoles). If you're using your headset half the time for music, then you might want to choose the Maxwell, because they are AMAZING for music at the $300-$350 price point, but if you are primarily gaming, the Stealth Pro is quite respectable for casual music listening, and the positional audio is a step up. Like some reviewers, I found Maxwell to be underwhelming for positional audio. Maybe some pairs are better matched than others? For build quality, I have yet to find anything concerning on the Stealth Pro, using them for long hours many times a week, and they're very comfortable (Although the slight edge might go to the Nova Pro there. Corsair HS80 is also very comfortable, but the sound doesn't keep up.) You can't go wrong at the top with wireless gaming headphones right now (Nova Pro, Audeze Maxwell, Stealth Pro), but this has been my all-around favorite. It makes things like the Astro A30 ($230) look like a stupid purchase (yes, I own these too), because the extra money is SO worth it.
@@HardwareCanucksexplain how to charge it on PS5 plz my thing is plugged into the console starts off red then stop let it charge all night doesn't work and also I even tried charging the headset also doesn't work
Hey! Great video! I would love to see a review with the 2023 version of Razer blackshark. that mic blew everyones minds. I think it's even better than the corsair you used in this video to show what headset mics should be like. Its insane
Yeah the mic on the new Blackshark is REALLY good, but it the noise-gate is overly aggressive by default, resulting in a lot of uneven volume coming from the mic. It's not as clear as the HS80 but is the contender for the 2nd best mic on a wireless headset for sure. Cheers :) -D.
@Hardware Canucks have you tried the audeze maxwell? Some people are saying its better than the nove pro wireless and turtle beach I ordered mine and hopefully it arives within a week
I'm not having the concerns with build quality that I had with the 700 Gen 2, and these don't heat up like those did for me. Due to weight alone, the Stealth Pro is more comfortable than the Maxwell (although the Maxwell is very comfortable for the weight). If you are focused on music, Maxwell is the only choice. It's the bargain of the decade for music at $300. If you are looking for a sweet spot combination of immersive with excellent positional audio, the Stealth Pro is better. Also, the Audeze software is nowhere near as nice as the Turtle Beach software. I found footsteps hard to place at times on the Audeze (and I'm not the only one). I think they've been a little hit or miss with the driver matching, and I wonder if it has something to do with them trying to keep up with the number of orders. For me, the combination of immersion, positional audio, ANC, flip to mute mic (the Audeze one never stayed in place for me - it just flopped around), and software was enough for me to sell my Maxwell and get the Stealth Pro. For music, Stealth Pro is still respectable, but I also have other excellent headphones DACs and amps for music.
@@lowercasegoat you can use other software with the maxwell then Just audeze app I use sonar om my maxwell to and it works fine and I can get more power out them this way
I’ve spend just about 2 hours doing research on which gaming headset to get (TB v SS Nova Pro. Hands down best review yet! This was very detailed, honest, and thorough. Overall, I was able to finally make a decision. Thank you!
@@HardwareCanucks I think the Nova Pro earns my selection. As a decade long Turtle Beach customer I’ve feel like I’ve been ripped off. The products doesn’t last with losing the sound quality, cheaply made, and the support is utterly lacking. Simply just not sold into the throwing money away for a name anymore. Nova Pro has its flaws (slightly) but I think they are going in the right direction and I love the innovation they are bringing to the table.
I used to use Turtle Beach over the years during the 360 days. I went through multipule headsets all breaking due to the band breaking. I seriously hope their quality has improved since then.
agree.. had multiple turtle beaches and the quality of the audio was amazing but the product itself would fall apart. luckily the best buy warranty was good for replacing it. the company is owned by mad catz
Never buy cheap turtle beach products back in the day they use to make sound cards and the lower end ones sucked big time and things never changed, its like turtle beach make cheap lower end stuff just to keep the brand relevant in the market at all price points
Doesn't look like it. While Audeze actually addressed the poor built quality of their headsets with the Maxwell, TB on the other hand has done nothing about it.
bye good shit nerds, my Sennheiser OG pc360's lasted 10yrs before my mom threw them out LOL when i moved out my mommys at like 33yrs old heheheheheh had them hidden in garage, didn't want 2 damage them in my loaded car, left them ther for a couple weeks, guess what? she cleaned LOL n just tossed them with my astro 5.8 mixamp!!!! didnt text or call, nothing! unreal!!!! LOL so sad,but im happy my audeze maxwells r coming soon (been out gaming for 3 years now)
I went from SteelSeries to these and the sound from the stealth pro is just unreal, by far the best headset for sound I've had ever and I also think they are more comfortable, in FPS games they are nuts, everything is so clear and I didn't even download the software yet. Really happy with these, might upgrade the foam, have you tried after market foam? I don't think the build quality is that bad tbh, my only negative is they are heavy but I can live with that for the sound they produce 🤩
For me, it's mic quality over everything else. The Corsair HS80 has been my daily driver for almost a year now and all my friends instantly noticed the difference when I switched to it. It's also just as comfortable as my old SteelSeries Arctis 7. PSA about SteelSeries Headsets: The earcup material has the potential to cause your skin to develop a **severe** allergic reaction to it. After using mine for a couple years, the skin on the outside of my ears started to itch like crazy one day, which would then turn raw to the point of leaking blood plasma from the scratch wounds. I switched to a newer model in hopes that I wouldn't have the same allergic reaction to the material but the same thing happened (I should also mention that many others have reported the same allergic reaction happening with SteelSeries headsets). My Corsair HS80 has been great since I switched to it. My only gripe with it is that the mic side tone is kind of on the low side, even at max volume. The battery life isn't terrific either, but it's decent enough.
mic quality over everything else? u are wierd. dude, mic quality is for only others who are listening to you. U cant even enjoy your own voice clarity, only others can. Whereas if u get a good headset like the Audeze Maxwell, u gonna enjoy the audio quality feeding into your ears with planar magnetic drivers instead of the shitty HS80 audio quality.
Funny story I am using the Arctis Nova 7P and I have had a similar allergic reaction for weeks. Well at least I now know what the potential problem can be
Great honest review. Much appreciated. Please do the audeze maxwell next. It's supposed to be the best wireless headset. By a country mile. In terms of sound with a mic that is comparable with the hs80.
@@HardwareCanucks oh, too bad you don't have a maxwell review. Now I’m looking for headphones to buy and I’m choosing between stealth pro and audez maxwell. From the headphones you want a cool cinema (like in a movie theater) sound with powerful bass.
The hs80 has a better mic. I have both, the audeze maxwell mic is passable but in comparison to the hs80 garbage in terms of sound clearty. With the audeze maxwell you sound kinda muffled, but the noise cancellation in the mic is with audeze maxwell way better.
@@HardwareCanucks Yes please do a review on the Maxwell. I got the penrose atm but not glad about the build quality and battery life. If the Maxwell fixes that but keeps, or even improves the audio quality. Then it would be a no brainer for me at that price
Just browsing some turtle beach listings, looks like they are ambitious with MSRP and then reel it in over time. If these settle at like half of their MSRP i can see them being a solid option
I'll also give a thumbs up to the Wicked Cushions FreeZe ear pads. I was wondering if you've tried using SteelSeries Sonar to fine tune the sound quality.
Way too critical. How about everything works great. Looks, feel, but I am just facing a problem with the sound. When watching movies quality is awesome, but while playing destiny with multiple things happening on a battle the sound distorts. I’m going to try switching cables. The only thing I can think to solve my problem
Great Video! The comparison was great currently I am looking at these 3 options the TB Stealth Pro, Steelseries Nova Pro and the Razer Blackshark V2 pro 2023. Can't wait for that video
At one point you said "just buy a good quality capsule" and I just want to clarify, that it's not even the mic itself, that leads to that low quality sound of most wireless headset mics. As some tests have shown (where identical Headsets models are available as wireless and wired versions with detachable and interchangeable mics), the bad sound on most wireless headset microphones are not related to the mic/capsule. It's the amount of wireless bandwidth that is available and how efficient (DSP, codec etc.) the manufacturer is using it. The Corsair headset models that do use their wireless "slipstream technology", seem to have more bandwidth (or more efficient codecs) than their models without slipstream (or other manufacturer models). After most of the bandwidth is needed to achieve decent playback sound, slipstream technology seems to have enough bandwidth left for the microphone to sound good as well (transmitting from less than 50Hz up to more than 14kHz). My old SteelSeries Arctis 7 was capping out at ~7kHz on the mic transmission, if I remember correctly (and on top of that, the mic signal seemed to get encoded/compressed a lot). The HS55 and HS65 wireless do not have slipstream, that's why their microphone sound quality does not even come close to the HS80 or Virtuoso models. But slipstream technology also has it's drawback...it is lacking range, compared to many wireless headsets with less bandwidth and low mic quality. Maybe they needed more radio channels and more channel switching to achieve the higher bandwidth and that's why the connection is more prone to signal loss. I own the HS80 and like it a lot (especially with aftermarket ear pads and some EQ). I usually use the HS80 mic, although I got a descent external mic setup at home. It's more convenient and still sounds pretty full and natural with the HS80. I simply use an USB extension cable to mount my Corsair USB dongle high up, over my monitor. This way, I get enough wireless range for my apartment (which I don't, if the Corsair dongle is just placed on my desk or in the front USB port of my computer).
You need to get wicked cushions for ur nova pro wireless. SOOO comfy and fully removes the issue of the nub. They have cooling gel too and arent fully leather. try them!!!
I had a Turtle Beach headset back I the day. They were awesome. Then the strap broke and they wouldn’t sell a replacement part. A $250 headset rendered useless for a few cents worth of plastic. Don’t think I’d ever buy a Turtle Beach product again. Went to Steel Series and haven’t looked back.
This feels nothing like the old Turtle Beach headsets. I had the original 700- it was great, but broke in less than a year of gentle use due to brittle plastic. I had the 700 Gen 2- I returned them because I thought they would break (and the earcups got really hot for me). These have all the sound qualities that I loved in those headsets without feeling like cheap junk.
A couple weeks ago I got the new Steelseries Nova 7P open box for 130$CAD for work. I can have both the laptop (with 2.4ghz dongle) and a Tablet (blutooth) play at the same time! I can listen to music and have background youtube play whithout affecting the work pc. The 7 and 7P also have a wheel to allow more or less ambient noise to come trough which is nice if you are waiting for a delivery. My only complain so far is that I find them to be slippery on the head as they tend to slip if you bend down to grab a pencil. I can do 3 days of work before charging them (lose about 25% battery each day of constant bluetooth and a couple hours of 2.4ghz). Great video as always!
Your concerns are legit, I bought 1 turtle beach headset a few years back and it was was tiniest sounding, flimsiest feeling set of cans I've ever had. Definitely a brand for GamersTM that live on Monster energy drink and have never heard a decent pair of headphones.
Yep. They're usually for budget gamers and their quality definitely shows it. I used a couple of their products as backups when I was in my teens and even back then when I was gaming on a $25 unknown brand headset, I knew Turtlebeach were just the poor man's Razer. It honestly pains me to know there's people out there that are gonna buy this headset at MSRP I'm sure the sound quality is good but $330 good? I'm sure Sennheiser have some good headphones for half the price that will perform just as well, if not better. But I guess people would rather buy something with the word 'gaming' slapped on the box instead
Stealth Pro sounds good and competes in this price range. I had the Maxwell and sold them to get these. Maxwell is amazing for music, but Stealth Pro is better for immersion and footsteps awareness. Throw in the ANC and the better software, and yes, it competes. I have Focal Clears and some decent DACs and amps to listen to music on, so I know what good wired headphones can do. Do these compete with those for music? Not at all. Do they compete with other wireless headsets in the range for gaming and functionality? Absolutely. Also, the quality and comfort is WAY better than their previous top of the line, the 700 Gen 2 Max.
I once bought the Stealth 700’s and as much as I absolutely loved the sound quality and feel of the headphones, they kept disconnecting every so often and it was very inconvenient when I was playing WZ with friends. I went with my Astro A40’s and they’ve basically been perfect for like 3 years now, even if they’re not wireless. With that being said, I just ordered the SteelSeries Nova Pro which I got for $300 on a Black Friday sale from their own website. I don’t have them yet but I got them for only 1 reason… I want a premium headset that works with my PC, my Xbox Series X and my PS5 and if you go with the Xbox version, it actually works with all of them. I can’t wait till they come in!
You guys always make amazing videos that are interesting and informative, but I feel like I never get notified about any of them or just never see go ur stuff pop up. Just wanted to let you know.
What I don't get is the RTINGS and VERSUS and Youtue reviews always differ so much around ACTUAL Imaging and Soundstage quality... I am trying to upgrade my HS70 Pro but can't find anything... What am I missing here
My favourite wireless headset is the SteelSeries Nova 7 as it has super accurate bass and mids and after a little EQ great highs and the imaging is also great. However, I’ve recently become a desk gamer and gone back to using a wired headset and now using my old Turtle Beach Elite Pro 2 with the super amp. Already there’s a night and day difference between the Elite Pro 2 and Nova 7. Maybe overall sound quality with wireless headsets have got close to wired, but the imaging is day and night difference on wired. After using my Elite Pro 2 with the super amp, I went back to using my Nova 7 and for imaging I really didn’t like it After watching a few reviews now about the new Turtle Beach Stealth Pro when they’ve said the imaging is identical, I decided to try it and been using it for the last couple of days and let me start with this, it’s nothing like their wired Elite Pro 2 Overall sound quality is a little better on the Stealth Pro, but for imaging hearing footsteps and overall directional audio the Elite Pro 2 is still much better. I mainly play FPS games, but do play a lot of other games, so sound quality isn’t my priority, imaging is what I care about, so wireless technology compared to wired still have some way to go with imaging I also found the Turtle Beach Stealth Pro to be very buggy when connected to their Audio Hub compared to the Elite Pro. I’ve had no issues with the Elite Pro connected to the audio hub, but the stealth pro is just so annoying If you mainly play FPS games and you’re a desk gamer, stick with wired to get great imaging and I love my Elite Pro 2 with the super amp I think Turtle Beach is being way to ambitious with their £330 price. It’s clear their quality control isn’t great before releasing a product as I’ve already read so many bad reviews about connection issues, bugs and more. It’s ok to develop and release a headset with all the bells and whistles and price it high, but make sure it’s all reliable
Ive been using the same Sennheiser HD598 for 11 years now, and stil works like it was bought yesterday (I only replaced the earcups once)l for $20). Paired with the gen 1 ModMic since 2014 or so, I feel glad I'm not one the people who seem to need a new headset every 2 years because of breakdowns
I have a turtle beach Stealth X800 and it was ok but what REALLY annoyed me about it is two hours before the battery goes dead a voice keeps repeating " baddery low" every 30 seconds. It worked for a few years but now the battery only lasts an hour before the voice returns.
Hello. I have a PS5 and an Xbox series s and I got the Turtle Beach Stealth Pro Xbox version. I want to use this headset on both consoles but I don’t want to be plugging and unplugging the USB cable. What can I do? I was thinking of some device that would be conected to both consoles and to the headset and then I could just push a button and switch between consoles, but I don’t know if this is even possible. Thank you.
You should try the whicked cushions on the nova pro wireless. I started feeling the nob on the nova pro wireless as well, but then i bought the Wicked cushions(the leather version) and It made It perfect to me.
I would really love to see a gaming/production in ear earphone review. I've been using a bear dynamics earphone for gaming and honestly I can't go back to these bulky headsets. For long hour gaming and streaming sessions the earphones are do nice. Please do a earphone tier list ❤😇
I've done a few IEMs round ups already :) Check them out on the channel! The main thing for me is long-term comfort with headsets seems to be better. -D.
@@HardwareCanucks I shall check them, thank you. For me after an hour or so headphone become uncomfortable and sweaty, much prefer the earphones though and my head feels light too. It's indivisual prefence I guess🤗
Should definitely take a look at the new Razer Blackshark, not a huge fan of their products but their Blackshark has been interesting me since it came out as a refreshed version in 2019 I think? It's great. Best mic I've heard in a headset for sure. I saw the bit at the end of your video talking about it, eagerly awaiting it. Logitech also came out with the G Pro X 2, would love a review of that as well. Definitely worth reviewing, hope to see it soon!
just got the stealth and man, I love it! not used my novo pro wired since or epos h6 pro, the software must also have been updated as no real bugs for me, battery life is fine, if you game 12 hours+ a day most days then perhaps consider a life lol :) my friends have said the Stealth pro Mic is much much better than the Nova pro but not as good as the Epos H6 pro. but I would rather have no mic and first class sound than the other way around. so, anyone want to buy a Nova pro wired head off me lol ? UK based. also f you tweak the Eq by following a well know TH-cam audiophile, you can get the sound curve very close to the Harman curve, again much much better than the nova!
Guys, It's about my PS5, on which I tried 5 pairs of headphones. Razer Barracuda, Arctis 7X, Corsair HS80, Razer Barracuda again and now Arctis 7. Only on the first pair did the microphone of the headphones work for a while, but as I read, Razer has a problem with the dongle for that model of headphones, in the sense that it disconnects after a while and no longer works wirelessly. I kept looking in the settings, at various tutorials, etc., but nothing. I want to mention that when I go into the console settings to test the microphone, it works, but when I go into Call Of Duty, it doesn't work. Do you have any idea what it could be?
Thank God I did not base my buy on this review. On console, this headphone destroyed my old SS Arctic Nova Pro since they don't save the EQ since is tied only to PCs. Imagine doing a review and not addressing a market with 200 million players
I will tell you this much , traveling with the steel series has been painful. The magnetic ear cups like to fall off if they turn in you bag or seat pouch and you can’t even buy the original colours . You have to go with pink , mint , green or red …and the red is ALWAYS out of stock .
I haven't bought anything bearing the name Turtle Beach since they didn't provide drivers for their sound card for the Windows version that was released exactly one year after I purchased my sound card. That landed them on my forever shit list! Thanks anyway?
hi , i have I9 13900K and this Thermalright , and relly , in a room at 24°, in idle i'm at 34° /33°:35° , and in charge ,only 2 P core sometimes at 100° ,no long time , and others core 94°/ 92°/88° ... i think that this airflow is best than many AIO 360 !! Need a good case too !!!
I just ordered the Audeze Maxwell that blows everything out of the water and has a mic as good as the Corsair with noise cancellation as good as the Nvidia noise cancellation. I have to wait until June to get mine, currently have the Corsair Virtuoso SE, can't wait to get them. Trying to spread the word, and hope you review them if you haven't already.
For a gaming headset, for me, I need the chat/game balance dial that the steel series offers. I play most games in discord with my family and friends. I need to have that dial to quickly mute or amplify voice chat.
I haven't checked to see if anyone has recommended this but Wicked Cushions has an amazing replacement for the Nova Pro Wireless headset, which are gel. Enjoy! 🤓
Still not as good as the HS80. Corsair worked some serious magic there. Still good, though, and everything else about it looks to be better, except maybe comfort, which is excellent on the Corsair.
Bought one and it started peeling, also the plastic broke on one side and it became useless. Not to mention it was heavy. I bought a hyper x headset and it's been great so far these last two years. It's peeling on the ear cushions but they are replaceable
A Stealth Pro? Or an older Turtle Beach? I've been using the Stealth Pro every day for hours and it looks like it did when I bought it. I was not impressed with the build quality on the 700 Stealth Gen 2, but these have been great so far.
can u maybe review the arctis nova pro wireless headsets as a long term review? what u said in the beginning concerns me tbh, I've had my eyes on them since their last iteration
Its not just the capsule used in the mic... its how the companies are transmitting the audio.. Corsair uses a 2 channel mic that transmits on its own 2.4ghz band where as pretty much everyone else is using a low bit depth, 1 channel, Low energy bluetooth band that compresses the fuck out of the mic audio. Audeze admitted as much to me via support for the Penrose shortly after that launched and changed it with the Maxwell and you hear a night an day difference between penrose and maxwell mics.
This is nothing compared to the Audeze Maxwell. Could you please check it out and do a review on it? I have it, and it blows everything else out of the water.
I just bought the Turtle Beach Stealth Pro and they are being returned immediately 2 deal breakers for me. 1) Mic monitoring has a slight delay which manifests as an echo when i talk. It is HORRIBLE. But if i turn off mic monitoring i sound very muffled to myself which i also hate. No amount of messing with levels will fix this. 2) a roughly 80 millisecond delay in the sound which i noticed immediately when trying to play guitar through them. These 2 things are major deal breakers for me. Which is a shame because the headset does sound good
I'm in the market for a new headset my old g933 is dying, I like wireless but I'm considering going wired this time, but I just have no idea what to go with at the moment.
Thank you for this bombshell review. The comparison we're great. Having watched this I can now make a better informed choice. You are like the Gamers Nexus of Headsets and I'm glad I'm a subscriber.
Nice, happy to hear this was helpful! Honestly I would keep them in my headset rotation if they focused more on build quality and user experience with buttons / volume control / clearer manual on all the features. They are prices WAAAY out of their class because of all the faults. -D.
I have the Turtle Beach Stealth 700 Gen2 and it was fine for about a month but bluetooth is an incredible pain in the bottom to pair and swap between say a PC and the phone, holy crap. And now I have had a lot of issue with the 2.4 dongle, I basically have to unplug and plug the dongle EVERY SINGLE TIME the headset is turned on. The headset is heavy but comfortable but the same issue with the controls, build quality and the sound is not good here. Never again. I think I'll shell out more for the Steelseries, which is what I should have done from the start but decided to try a new brand after my Astros decided to stop working (years of use after though)
Man the mic on the Corsair headset just completely blows everything else out of the water. It's in a totally different league of its own.
That’s true. I don’t understand why it’s so difficult to make a decent mic. Especially in this price point. However, I returned the Corsairs after two hours because they sounded like absolute trash and I couldn’t fix a couple technical issues. The new TB set is awesome.
I've convinced some friends to get HS65s. We all sound amazing and the audio is superb as well.

The built in mic sounds better
For real hold this L headset 😢
Yeah i was about to write this too.
It's a lot more open to room noise etc... To my ears for gaming comms i still prefer the boom.

sucks to make a comment before watching until the very end x)
Yeah the mic on the new Blackshark is REALLY good, but it the noise-gate is overly aggressive by default, resulting in a lot of uneven volume coming from the mic. It's not as clear as the HS80 but is the contender for the 2nd best mic on a wireless headset for sure. Cheers :)

@Hardware Canucks have you tried the audeze maxwell? Some people are saying its better than the nove pro wireless and turtle beach
I ordered mine and hopefully it arives within a week
Would really appreciate a comparison with Audeze Maxwell since they are so hyped up by everyone.
They definitely blow these out of the water
If there is one reason to stay away from TB it's definitely their abysmal built quality. That plastic build WILL fall apart in a year's time.
Maxwell is much better the nova pro comfort is less but sound Quality is so much better
Thank you!
Nice, so what are you getting?
-D.
@@slothking3756 How are they?
@@jkey3835 undeniably awesome
Doesn’t even talk about footstep audio what the fuck do you mean
I used to use Turtle Beach over the years during the 360 days. I went through multipule headsets all breaking due to the band breaking. I seriously hope their quality has improved since then.
My turtlebeach x12s were absolutely bomb proof. Still can’t belief those things survived the constant rage in halo and cod all those years
agree.. had multiple turtle beaches and the quality of the audio was amazing but the product itself would fall apart. luckily the best buy warranty was good for replacing it. the company is owned by mad catz
Never buy cheap turtle beach products back in the day they use to make sound cards and the lower end ones sucked big time and things never changed, its like turtle beach make cheap lower end stuff just to keep the brand relevant in the market at all price points
Doesn't look like it. While Audeze actually addressed the poor built quality of their headsets with the Maxwell, TB on the other hand has done nothing about it.
bye good shit nerds, my Sennheiser OG pc360's lasted 10yrs before my mom threw them out LOL when i moved out my mommys at like 33yrs old heheheheheh had them hidden in garage, didn't want 2 damage them in my loaded car, left them ther for a couple weeks, guess what? she cleaned LOL n just tossed them with my astro 5.8 mixamp!!!! didnt text or call, nothing! unreal!!!! LOL so sad,but im happy my audeze maxwells r coming soon (been out gaming for 3 years now)
What about the Audeze Mazwell?
All these headsets gets shit on by Audeze Maxwell. I'm surprised you have not covered it yet.
Whereas if u get a good headset like the Audeze Maxwell, u gonna enjoy the audio quality feeding into your ears with planar magnetic drivers instead of the shitty HS80 audio quality.
it is an awesome headset, only problems I have with it, is the wireless range and no bluetooth
I also really like the HS80, but the sidetone volume is too low. Corsair please fix it!
Funny story I am using the Arctis Nova 7P and I have had a similar allergic reaction for weeks. Well at least I now know what the potential problem can be
I've been using the HS80 for about 2yrs now and love it. When it breaks I'll end up getting another one again.
My Nova Pros disconnect like that too. I wear them all the time, and the hump in the ear cup never bothers me. I've had them for about 7 months.
Great honest review. Much appreciated. Please do the audeze maxwell next. It's supposed to be the best wireless headset. By a country mile. In terms of sound with a mic that is comparable with the hs80.
Thanks for the suggestion! Will write to Audeze to request as sample.
-D.
@@HardwareCanucks I could let you borrow my Maxwell for a review if you want since they're out of stock as of now.
@@HardwareCanucks Yes please do a review on the Maxwell. I got the penrose atm but not glad about the build quality and battery life. If the Maxwell fixes that but keeps, or even improves the audio quality. Then it would be a no brainer for me at that price
Audeze Maxwell comparison please!
Just browsing some turtle beach listings, looks like they are ambitious with MSRP and then reel it in over time. If these settle at like half of their MSRP i can see them being a solid option
@AmpEdition they are not better than the Maxwell, why you sent them back?
Yeah at half the price this would be a solid deal. The audio quality is surprisingly good for a TB product.
-D.
The 700 Gen 2 had great Audio as well.
You should review the Audeze Maxwell.
Will you review Audeze Maxwell? Same tier with TB.
I'll also give a thumbs up to the Wicked Cushions FreeZe ear pads. I was wondering if you've tried using SteelSeries Sonar to fine tune the sound quality.
where the audeze maxwell review at?
Way too critical. How about everything works great. Looks, feel, but I am just facing a problem with the sound. When watching movies quality is awesome, but while playing destiny with multiple things happening on a battle the sound distorts. I’m going to try switching cables. The only thing I can think to solve my problem
You should try the Audeze Maxwell. It will make you forget about these two, mark my words
They have cooling gel too and arent fully leather. try them!!!
i hope you review audeze maxwell soon and compare them.
Did Steelseries replace broken parts for you? It’s not usual to sell parts like that for headsets…
I had the stealth 600's for years before moving to headphones + mic, that thing was solid and put me through all of Destiny 1
It honestly pains me to know there's people out there that are gonna buy this headset at MSRP
I'm sure the sound quality is good but $330 good?
Replace the ear cushions with Wicked Cushions. Problem Solved on the SS
what about the mic comparison of the Corsair HS80 vs Razer Blackshark V2 Pro 2023?
Am I crazy or do the built in microphones on the turtle beaches sound better than the boom mic? 😅
Turtle Beach was huge in sound cards.Them vs. Sound Blaster.
You guys always make amazing videos that are interesting and informative, but I feel like I never get notified about any of them or just never see go ur stuff pop up. Just wanted to let you know.
Gotcha. Now it’s all based on your viewing habits so take a look around the channel and it’ll start popping up more 👍

What I don't get is the RTINGS and VERSUS and Youtue reviews always differ so much around ACTUAL Imaging and Soundstage quality... I am trying to upgrade my HS70 Pro but can't find anything... What am I missing here
Dude, once you swapped to the HS80, every other mic in this test faded from existence.
I actually picked up the HyperX Cloud Stinger 2 Wireless and am quite satisfied for the price I paid. The mic is fairly decent as well.
how did u get verified?
probably producer
I would love to see a review of the Audeze Maxwell Wireless Gaming Headset. Great video!
Dude the SteelSeries headset for sure doesn't look like a $350 headset. This entire video was nothing but salt.
Audeze Maxwell, check em out!
After using my Elite Pro 2 with the super amp, I went back to using my Nova 7 and for imaging I really didn’t like it
After watching a few reviews now about the new Turtle Beach Stealth Pro when they’ve said the imaging is identical, I decided to try it and been using it for the last couple of days and let me start with this, it’s nothing like their wired Elite Pro 2
Overall sound quality is a little better on the Stealth Pro, but for imaging hearing footsteps and overall directional audio the Elite Pro 2 is still much better. I mainly play FPS games, but do play a lot of other games, so sound quality isn’t my priority, imaging is what I care about, so wireless technology compared to wired still have some way to go with imaging
I also found the Turtle Beach Stealth Pro to be very buggy when connected to their Audio Hub compared to the Elite Pro. I’ve had no issues with the Elite Pro connected to the audio hub, but the stealth pro is just so annoying
If you mainly play FPS games and you’re a desk gamer, stick with wired to get great imaging and I love my Elite Pro 2 with the super amp
I think Turtle Beach is being way to ambitious with their £330 price.
Yes!!!!! Been waiting on ur review Chris!! Let’s go!!!
I completely forgot about that thing in the earcup about a week or 2 after i got them and only got reminded of it when you mentioned it haha
Hope you can review Audeze Maxwell soon, just to know you enjoy it as much as I do!
Thank you.
Looking forward to a review of the razer blackshark v2 pro (2023) as it seems to have one of the best quality mics for wireless
You should try the whicked cushions on the nova pro wireless.
I started feeling the nob on the nova pro wireless as well, but then i bought the Wicked cushions(the leather version) and It made It perfect to me.
I'm looking forward to your full review of the new Razer Blackshark headset. But I would also love to see you review the Audeze Maxwell headset.
The new Blackshark V2 2023 seems to be such a better deal. This is because of the mic quality and price!
Pls tell me the price
I saw that v2 pro in my local is about $250 while v2 2020 is $150
@@HellGatyr I think that MSRP for the new 2023 is going to be $200. This has been mentioned by 2 YT so far.
It doesn't support simultaneous BT and 2.4Ghz tho, it only supports simultaneous connection for fast switching between the two.

Please review the 2023 blackshark v2 pro
just got the stealth and man, I love it! not used my novo pro wired since or epos h6 pro, the software must also have been updated as no real bugs for me, battery life is fine, if you game 12 hours+ a day most days then perhaps consider a life lol :) my friends have said the Stealth pro Mic is much much better than the Nova pro but not as good as the Epos H6 pro. but I would rather have no mic and first class sound than the other way around. so, anyone want to buy a Nova pro wired head off me lol ? UK based. also f you tweak the Eq by following a well know TH-cam audiophile, you can get the sound curve very close to the Harman curve, again much much better than the nova!
why isn't S/PDIF a thing on more high end headsets?
You should get an Audeze Maxwell when they restock next month, was hoping the headset would be in this video ngL when i read the title :c
As always thanks for the detailed review.
The Corsair HS80, Razer Blackshark V2 Pro 2023, and Antlion Modmic Wireless are the only wireless microphones I've found that actually sound good.
Just bought the Razer Blackshark V2 Pro 2023, mic really sold it for me
i still love GSP670 as for mic test comparison, why don't you includes that ? ;)
My stealth pro won’t turn on is there a way to factory reset it or a fix for it?
Any plans to review the Audeze Maxwell? I absolutely love your take on headset reviews and would love to hear what you think about these.
Thank God I did not base my buy on this review. On console, this headphone destroyed my old SS Arctic Nova Pro since they don't save the EQ since is tied only to PCs. Imagine doing a review and not addressing a market with 200 million players
I loved the squad rocket launcher reaction, one of my favorite shooters 😂
Kinda nutty that the built in mic does have a better voice quality but it's just airy
the nova pro audio with the custom EQ is sickkk
Eber: "It costs $330 right?"
Me: Oh boi, he's gonna trash on the mic so hard
Eber: "It sounds GOOD"
Me: wait what?
I will tell you this much , traveling with the steel series has been painful. The magnetic ear cups like to fall off if they turn in you bag or seat pouch and you can’t even buy the original colours . You have to go with pink , mint , green or red …and the red is ALWAYS out of stock .
Does anyone know if there will be an HS85 (HS80 with BT)? I really like that headset but need BT to be included.
What about the new blackshark v2 pro 2023 or the corsair hs80
I wasn't aware of SQUAD until now. I jumped in my seat when the shots started going off. lol 😅😅
how doo these stack up against astro a50's
I just ordered the Audeze Maxwell that blows everything out of the water and has a mic as good as the Corsair with noise cancellation as good as the Nvidia noise cancellation. I have to wait until June to get mine, currently have the Corsair Virtuoso SE, can't wait to get them. Trying to spread the word, and hope you review them if you haven't already.
Yes Audeze is waayy better.
They're trash for FPS games imo. Super heavy as well.
For a gaming headset, for me, I need the chat/game balance dial that the steel series offers. I play most games in discord with my family and friends. I need to have that dial to quickly mute or amplify voice chat.
Razer Blackshark V2 Pro 2023... Really looking forward! I know that microphone will destroy anybody, but how is the sound quality? :)
what do you think about audeze maxwell? i need a headset for adventure games and watching movies
So the steelseries ear pads have been reduced to atoms after just 8 months??
Are you going to look into the Audeze Maxwell ?
I haven't checked to see if anyone has recommended this but Wicked Cushions has an amazing replacement for the Nova Pro Wireless headset, which are gel. Enjoy! 🤓
Steel Series ain't going nowhere. Turtle Beach is just too slow
I'm very happy with my virtuoso XT, what an AWESOME headset that is absolutely in love with it!
So people not use sonar? It's makes the mic like a USB one
What are the chances you will mod these headsets with wicked cushions? I can't go without them . They got pairs that fit anything
The new Blackshark V2 Pro mic is crazy good. Like studio mic quality.... Only $200 too.
The Razer Blackshark V2 2023 should be the new standard for mic quality.
Have you thought about trying out the Turtle Beach Stealth 700 Gen 2 Max?
can u maybe review the arctis nova pro wireless headsets as a long term review? what u said in the beginning concerns me tbh, I've had my eyes on them since their last iteration
I have it, and it blows everything else out of the water.
try grabbing some wicked cushions for the nova pro, makes a huge difference
I just bought the Turtle Beach Stealth Pro and they are being returned immediately
2 deal breakers for me.
Which is a shame because the headset does sound good
What about some Audeze headsets? Would like to see how they stack up.
I'm in the market for a new headset my old g933 is dying, I like wireless but I'm considering going wired this time, but I just have no idea what to go with at the moment.
Look at their headset reviews, pretty decent headsets out there.
