Amazing review! Which one would you pick in 2024? Upgrading from the Astro A50. Have the Stealth Pros now and feel like they are too heavy. Nova on sale for $250 and Turtle Beach go for $230
the stealth pros have amazing audio quality but tons of connectivity issues like bt interfearance, white noise when a sound plays when the transmitter is used and sometimes the bt pairing messes up and you cannot hear any audio. I gave them to my sister since the static noise made me go crazy since she strictly uses them via bt.
Only reason I went with the SteelSeries Xbox version is because it works with the PS5/PC too. Just bought those wicked ear cups. Glad there is something to help solve the ear sweat and the noise cancellation nub from touching your ear. For those having issues with the SteelSeries microphone, you sometimes have to unplug the base station and plug it back in to reset the connection. Happens with Xbox periodically.
The TB stealth pro are nice they sound good but I hate the buttons layout , the buttons are hard to press, the volume wheel sucks feels cheap is annoying to rotate since it has no grip. I also wish they were a little louder.
Agreed. Also is it just my copy, or do they take a good few seconds to turn on? They are also slow to connect to the phone app, which I have to use since the PC app is not working for me. Clamp force I think is a little more than light/medium.
Thank you, ai wasn’t sure which, have had turtle beach before, but stopped working, but loved the feel. Had a Steele series and wanted the wireless, and that’s what I was going for until the new turtle beach came out. Cheers the the review 👌🏻
I cant tell if mine are broken or somthing ?? I bought the stealth pro and so far the mic quality is awfull the anc does basically nothing i makes sounds louder if anything .
i had astro a50s and i loved them until the top piece fell off constantly. went and tried the arctics nova pro wireless and i dont like them. the earpads get hot and itchy. the worst part is that there is a pointy part in the headphones that hit my ears. i guess i have big ears or something but these are not for me. might go try the turtle beach ones.
I have the nova pro and there good sound but I want something that hits lil harder in the bass would the stealth pro be good I play a lot of rpg games on ps5
I recently did a bunch of research into both of these headsets, purchased both, tested them thoroughly, and I too ended up choosing the Turtle Beach Stealth Pro. They just sound too good. I did have to get them in my hands to make that decision as a bunch of reviewers were complaining a bunch about “quality of life” bs. All I have to say about that is, cap. The buttons are a little hard to press and that’s about it. It wasn’t even close to me when it came to the sound and that’s what matters. Amazing headset.
Thank you. Haha I have Astro a50s and have been looking at reviews between the turtle beaches and steel series where all they talk about is useless stuff. All I really care about is the sound. So I think bc of you I’ll get the turtle beaches
@@Rueges sorry I suppose everyone looks at headsets for different reasons . For me it’s just sound quality. I don’t care about the mic test bc I have a separate microphone. Ik not everyone does so I’m just speaking on my behalf. Lol
I couldn't really tell. Are the Turtle Beach earcups larger than the SS? I had a pair of Nova Pro Wired and sent them back after a couple of weeks. They are about a half inch smaller in diameter than the Nova 7s (no idea why) which are super comfy and deep. With my bigger ears the Pros gave me that bruised feeling after about an hour of gameplay. It sucked because I liked the sound a lot. I even ordered the Wicked cushions and it didn't help. They were more comfy, but gave no extra space for my ears. Also, can you dabble with sound EQs in the phone app, or is it just for the mic? Thanks, Techne?
So do the turtle beaches have to be unplugged and plugged back in in order to switch from pc to console? Don't the steel series plug into both simultaneously?
I purchased the steel series Arctis nova pro wireless late last year for $249.99. So for me a no brained saving $80 vs the turtle beach. If it was full price vs full price, turtle beach it would be.
@@XDomX777Your "argument" is whack, as swappable 12hr batteries are as sufficient as could possibly be needed. Quality control, all you need to do is look at the upgrades they have done to this headset vs their past headsets. I've seen you repeat the same thing on this thread numerous times now. Broken record with nothing of value to offer.
@@toucheCS2 when I comment this a year ago. You could’ve had a point, but after this headset has been trash on the market it invalidates your rebuttal. 12 hour battery life diminishes to less than 5 after 6 months (normal for these types of batteries) and the head band has had many reports of breaking, and the leather peeling. I appreciate the call back to a year ago, so I get to see my speculation validated. Much appreciated!
I would really like the Astro A50s to come out with a new version for todays gaming. And I LOVE my A50s, honestly don’t want to change, but with them getting older I’m in the market for another set and the Turtle Beach option is looking more and more likely as my next pair. Great comparison review!
Same bro. I used to love my A50’s but even the gen 4 (current version) are kinda trash now. The battery needs to be improved and for gods sake they need to fix the headband cushion thing. After like a month it started falling out. So so so annoying. Also if they figured out a way to make it work on ps5 without needing their splitter would be great

Has steeleseries improved upon the strength of the hindge attaching the earcup to the headband, I cannot seem to find any videos displaying the supposed improvement they made to the hindge.
How do you feel the turtle beach pro stack up against the steelseries nova wired pros? I got those last year based on your review and could not be happier.
So what headset is best for footstep sound? Would you upgrade from the Astro A50s gen 4 to the turtle beach stealth pro? I probably play 25+ hours a week so if there’s a noticeable difference I’ll upgrade
First let me say thank you for the good review. In a review on Amazon/Germany I read that with TB loudness of PS5 is not as loud as on Xbox. Is that true? I want to buy the TB but if that`s a fact...Has someone an answer? For me important is the TB Stealth Pro Xbox cause I´m playing on Xbox and PS5...Thank you in advance.
Can you recommend a wireless headset I can use for both my Xbox series X and PS5? I purchased a refurbished Arctis Nova Pro but they didn't send the correct version so it wouldn't wirelessly connect to the Xbox.
From the research I've done the Turtle Beach Stealth Pro's have the ability to connect to both Playstation and Xbox but you'd need to buy the xbox variant rather than the playstation ones. Don't ask me why, it says on the box for both what they can connect to.
OK here’s a random question I played with one headset on my cheek half the time so I can hear the kids running around the house do either of these flex enough for that?
I bought the x box version even though I have a ps5 .... when I connect the headphones to the pc I can increase the sound and it feels good while when I connect them to the ps5 it feels different from the pc .... do I have to select on pc? because if I put on x box obviously they don't work
Great thanks for all these videos. I mainly play Warzone and I hesitate between: Audeze Maxwell, turtle beach stealth pro and a TYGR 300R headset. Which one do you recommend?
I have the Arctis nova pro wireless and even with the EQ dock it does not sound as good as the arctis nova that i use downstairs on my pc to cloud game from my PC since i csn use the sonar softaware its pretty annoying that you cannot use this software on Xbox like why not add it as an app
Is it possible to have this connected to both PC and PS5 or XBOX simultaneously and just hit the switch in the back to choose the source? Or do you need to switch cables from one device to the other whenever switching devices? I have the Nova Pro Wireless which as you know can connect 2 devices simultaneously and this will be a deciding factor before purchasing TB.
Have the nova pro but sucks due to my audio being cut off cause i got n iphone listening through apple music while its still playing on my phone even went to return them to get a new one to see if it was a faulty head set but nah

Hey techne how would the turtle beach match up against the nova pro wired version with gamedac? You said that the wired version was night and day better then the wireless version so i assume that the turtle beach and the maxwells are no where near as good as the nova pro wired version?

I’m a Turtle Beach guy so I didn’t really care about the other headset but I’ve heard a ton about them so I wanted to see how they stack up. Glad I ordered the Stealth Pro and can’t wait to try em out in a couple days.
I’m trying to buy a new headset, I play on Xbox and am strictly looking mainly for a headset that is best in sound for Rainbow Six Siege. I currently have been using the Astro A10’s for years but now I’m starting to miss sound queues and not hear footsteps as well with them. I was thinking about getting the A50’s but I kind of want to try something better. Any recommendations?
Which of these 2 headsets would be the best for FPS games, more specifically MW3, as i recently bought the Logitech G Pro X2 and im not too content with and planning on returning them. Looking for one that sounds great for CoD and also for listening to music or watching TH-cam videos and movies! Thank you for any recommendations!
Hyperx cloud 3 wireless are great for competitive gaming and have a great sounding mic. I have those and also dt 900 pro x and the new turtle beach stealth pro and use my hyperx headsets as my new main now. Can hear footsteps and enemies extremely clear with no issues at all
Quick question. Going from a TB Stealth 700 gen 2 (used it for four years) to a Stealth Pro. Is there difference in game audio significant? The complaints about mics stop working worry me though.
I have both, and the difference is significant. I have the Steelseries Nova Pro Wireless too, and the Stealth Pro blows all of 'em out of the water. I updated its firmware, increased the bass to the max on the Turtle Beach mobile app, and it's almost like having a movie theater on my head. Techne wasn't kidding.
@@bigkabuto Bass only, it makes everything sound cinematic - gun shots, explosions, story events, it gives everything a cool dramatic flair without sounding all 'muddy' like other headphones do when you artificially increase their bass. Very impressive, I think. I don't know why, but increasing treble on these adds an annoying buzzing sound when quiet. I didn't check if the buzz is gone during actual sound, but since it sounds very fun without increasing treble for me, I figured I'm good enough with just max bass.
Oh, and I'm only playing singleplayer games, so the mic is irrelevant for me. If you're more into multiplayer perhaps the Steelseries Nova Pro's might be better for you, as they're very positional and critical. The Stealth Pro are also positional, but in more 'entertainment' way rather than actual detecting your enemy in a split-second. I have both headsets, and going from the Stealth Pro's (when I have to charge them) to the Steelseries feels like such a bummer, they're almost boring in comparison
@@megaloth1955 I just bought them. So when it comes to audio preset you choose bass boost too? Or signature sound and then put bass boost slider to the max? :)

@quietgameplays8246 they both have amazing sound, great bass, clear highs. I already know I'm buying TB but what I'd love to know... For excitement factor, is: Can you adjust mic output... Like there used to be an old headset by TB called the XP500's or the PX5's (Xbox vs Playstation) and they could change the output of your voice. Which I think is great for online privacy. So sorry that I was long winded with that question but would love an answer. Thanks.
Yeah, be careful buying arctis headsets. I myself have worn mine for 3 years, but I'm always gentle with it. The arm eventually broke on my arctis 7 wireless.
Great review, I have the A50s but my base no longer works so I basically a paper weight now. I can either spend the 100 bucks to replace the base or just upgrade to the TB. Anyone got any advice?
Okay Turtle is good for gaming but how is it for music? I mean you can connect it to your PS5 and phone at the same time right? How is that? And how does it sound bass and volume if i only want to use it for listening music?
LETS GO!! To the beach turtles! Never thought turtle beach would be in a conversation with steel series but here we are. I already got my maxwells and feel like they’ll be my main for awhile, but excited for the comparison.
Why can't turtle beach just put a damn 3.5mm port on both the TB Stealth 700 Gen2/Stealth 700 Gen 2 MAX/ and this new TB Stealth Pro? Not even because I'm worried about the battery dying since like 5 minutes of charging adds like 15 hours of gameplay, but sometimes you just need to use some wires or if you want to plug them into the DAC/AMP. They already made the TB Elite Pro 2 with detachable 3.5mm cable, if they would just combine that tiny feature and put it on my favorite TB Stealth 700 Gen2, since I can put them on and the cooling gel earpads stay comfortable wearing them literally ALL DAY LONG, lets me turn on my Series X and my TV when I turn my headset on. And auto connects to the latest Bluetooth device as well, which is my phone. So I can always listen to music, answer phone calls and still hear everything from the Xbox. And one dedicated volume wheel for just the Xbox audio, and then you can open the turtle Beach app on your phone and bind the top wheel to Bluetooth volume so you can immediately turn up or down each individual audio source...and everything sounded magnificent using Dolby Atmos.
I had the steel series and after a week was not impressed. Took them back to Best buy and got the Astro A50s. They have been my go to headset for almost 2 years down the 4th gen. But after hearing all the hype on these turtle Beach cans I'm thinking of trying them out and see how they work. Great review by the way.

I just got these steel series after returning my Turtle beaches. The beaches just weren't making me happy while gaming. These steel series are absolutely amazing. I don't ever have any ear fatigue.
Interesting cause I made the opposite, did not like the sound and features or even an app to make adjustments on the phone
@@Alexk-usa same, im returning my nova pro and getting the tb stealth pro. I dont like the lack of eq adjustments on console
@@Alexk-usa use the damn DAC
@@Saplayzing don't get what y'all are talking about in terms of lack of adjustment. Daq has fully customizable EQ. Sidetone, etc. Idk man sounds like nitpicking to me

The turtle beach xbox version works with xbox, pc, playstation, and switch?
@BruceRichwineJr Can you save EQ presets for use on console with the nova pro wireless?
The TB stealth pro are nice they sound good but I hate the buttons layout , the buttons are hard to press, the volume wheel sucks feels cheap is annoying to rotate since it has no grip. I also wish they were a little louder.
Agreed. Also is it just my copy, or do they take a good few seconds to turn on? They are also slow to connect to the phone app, which I have to use since the PC app is not working for me. Clamp force I think is a little more than light/medium.
Same for me I also had the issue with the Bluetooth button, I couldn't turned off the Bluetooth unless I power off the headset
I got the Nova and I returned them and got this stealth pro 10/10 Turtle
Where is the EQ for the TB? Can’t find it
Great review! Thank you and definitely the best one I’ve seen!
Thank you, ai wasn’t sure which, have had turtle beach before, but stopped working, but loved the feel.
Had a Steele series and wanted the wireless, and that’s what I was going for until the new turtle beach came out.
Cheers the the review 👌🏻
Are you going to get WC pads for the TBs?
I cant tell if mine are broken or somthing ?? I bought the stealth pro and so far the mic quality is awfull the anc does basically nothing i makes sounds louder if anything .
I've got the Arctis Nova 7x. I've ordered the Stealth Pro for PS5. Let's see. Hopefully its good🙏🏽🫡
they are beast
And what can you tell about the stealth pro’s on ps5? Does it have good bass?
i had astro a50s and i loved them until the top piece fell off constantly. went and tried the arctics nova pro wireless and i dont like them. the earpads get hot and itchy. the worst part is that there is a pointy part in the headphones that hit my ears. i guess i have big ears or something but these are not for me. might go try the turtle beach ones.
what about ANC? this is what I need the most + to make sure my head stays confortable and I will not loose my hairstyle
Have the turtle beach the better Sound for shooter or Not? I can send my nova pro back and buy the turtle beach
I have the nova pro and there good sound but I want something that hits lil harder in the bass would the stealth pro be good I play a lot of rpg games on ps5
When talking about your want to play more with the stealth pro were you using the superhuman sound setting?
@@1MPUL5IVENot sure what in this review is "useless".
@@Rueges sorry I suppose everyone looks at headsets for different reasons . For me it’s just sound quality. I don’t care about the mic test bc I have a separate microphone. Ik not everyone does so I’m just speaking on my behalf. Lol
Does the turtle beach get loud on ps5? Most of the headsets on ps5 are really low even with full volume
I would assume they do sense he said you can hear the shotgun shells or ammo reloading and footsteps clearly on the TB pros
Great video! Thanks for not being scared to actually choose a headset.
The battery life destroys the TB and TB quality control is laughable.
@@XDomX777If you’re playing longer than the 12 hour batter life everyday before switching it out then that’s concerning
Also if they figured out a way to make it work on ps5 without needing their splitter would be great
@@afterrhours Agreed. The splitter is another annoying part of it. Since Astro/Logitech isn’t announcing another new version, i have Turtle Beach as my next option.
@@BayouRambler I ended up getting the Logitech g pro x 2 a few days ago and so far they’re pretty good but I can’t get the g hub to recognize my headset so I’m leaning towards returning them and getting the stealth pro from tb
I got the stealth pro as an upgrade from my astro a50. My main concern was sound and for me the a50 sound better to me. The SP don't have that bombastic powerful immersion with the base. Over all for what I want i perfer the a50s and I returned my SP
@@nigma195glad I read this. I have a40trs and was thinking of trying these so I don’t have to be wired anymore but I will def pass if they sound worse than a50s.
Is it just me or does the stealth pro on pc sound very low when maxed out on volume?
I have the older steelseries arctis 7p headset from 2020, but it doesn’t offer a dedicated chat volume control. (To adjust chat volume on the fly in case it’s too quiet or too loud compared to the game’s audio.) Do either of these have that option? Thank you!
Has steeleseries improved upon the strength of the hindge attaching the earcup to the headband, I cannot seem to find any videos displaying the supposed improvement they made to the hindge.
There is none, new headsets still break.
Forget to mention the arctis nova pros 40 hour battery life?
Sometimes I hate new items!! I just for the steel series pro wireless two weeks ago with my wicked cousins! I love them! Best headset I ever owned!
How do you feel the turtle beach pro stack up against the steelseries nova wired pros? I got those last year based on your review and could not be happier.
One has active noise cancelling the other doesn't.
If there would be no problem with the PS5: Is it worth to update from the Stealth 700 Gen 2 Max to Stealth Pro Wireless Xbox?
Can you recommend a wireless headset I can use for both my Xbox series X and PS5? I purchased a refurbished Arctis Nova Pro but they didn't send the correct version so it wouldn't wirelessly connect to the Xbox.
From the research I've done the Turtle Beach Stealth Pro's have the ability to connect to both Playstation and Xbox but you'd need to buy the xbox variant rather than the playstation ones. Don't ask me why, it says on the box for both what they can connect to.
Why does the steal series mic sound so bad. Wanted to get one and use it for work calls too, I guess I'll use my blue yeti
OK here’s a random question I played with one headset on my cheek half the time so I can hear the kids running around the house do either of these flex enough for that?
I have the turtle beach gen 2 stealth I’m debating the upgrade before Starfield comes out
I bought the x box version even though I have a ps5 .... when I connect the headphones to the pc I can increase the sound and it feels good while when I connect them to the ps5 it feels different from the pc .... do I have to select on pc? because if I put on x box obviously they don't work
Great thanks for all these videos. I mainly play Warzone and I hesitate between: Audeze Maxwell, turtle beach stealth pro and a TYGR 300R headset. Which one do you recommend?
Hello at the techne I would like to know what is the website for the aftermarket ear cushion that you get yours from. As I’m wanting to buy some.
Google is a wonderful thing..
I have the Arctis nova pro wireless and even with the EQ dock it does not sound as good as the arctis nova that i use downstairs on my pc to cloud game from my PC since i csn use the sonar softaware its pretty annoying that you cannot use this software on Xbox like why not add it as an app
Can i use the turtle beach phone with usb cable or is it only bluetooth?
when will compare with audeze maxwell? i have to bay one headset and i don't know wich one
Are the turtle beaches better than the wired nova pros?
I only care about sound and comfort I don't care if a headset is wired or wireless.
I’ve just returned the novas wired. Too many cables that get in the way. They do sound good and and able to hear footsteps

Curious the comparison WITH Sonar.
Gonna need that maxwell vs pro stealth quick I need to know which one is good by EOD 😅
which is the best for adventure games and watching movies? nova....tb or maxwell?
Have the nova pro but sucks due to my audio being cut off cause i got n iphone listening through apple music while its still playing on my phone even went to return them to get a new one to see if it was a faulty head set but nah

Which of these are better for Warzone on ps5? Hearing footsteps and stuff
With the Steel Series, can you adjust the mic settings to alter how you sound?
Yes you can, its night and day once adjusted
Just bought the turtle beach pros, will update on how i like it
Tell me bro
How's the anc compare?
Hello.
I've tried TB700 & TB700G2. I noticed both of them sound very low on on max volume specially on ps5 when I'm on party even when I tried to adjust between game and chat volumes it doesn't work on both versions that why I hate turtle beach they don't support their product on all devices
My friend I want ask you I found steelseries arctis 7+p for 130 bucks but i want ask you its good for pc ?
I’m on series x and trying to find a good headset. I play a lot of war zone 2 and the foot steps suck. I’m trying to find a headset for series x that I can hear the footsteps or change eq to hear the footsteps. It would be much appreciated
Turtle beach stealth pro is really good, better than steelseries nova pro wireless
is the arctis 9x still good in 2023?
Are the Tb just as loud as the A50 I care more for the sound quality I’m thinking in getting the Tb over the A50s but I’m not sure or SteelSeries pros
What would you say more for games like destiny ? I’ve had steel series before the older ones but not a turtle beach for years ??
This steel series is the best one I’ve had…. I hated the previous ones
Hey techne how would the turtle beach match up against the nova pro wired version with gamedac? You said that the wired version was night and day better then the wireless version so i assume that the turtle beach and the maxwells are no where near as good as the nova pro wired version?
Thanks so much for the comparison I've always loved my turtlebeach headsets for same things sound adjustments everything just a question if I was to get the turtlebeaches I currently own the stealth 700gen 2sx which I use on my xbox1 and Samsung phone for audio calls is the sound just as clear in a phone call with the turtlebeach headset and how do you sync it to your phone aswell as xbox1 either at the same time or different times please? 🤔
Get the turtle beach stealth pro headset, Awesome sound quality and a great mic
@@megaloth1955 Nice! So you actually max out the bass? Do you use bass and treble boost or solely bass at max and done?
I had to A 50 and I equalize it, and I still can’t hear footsteps. I bought the turtle stealth pro and I can hear all the footsteps. It’s so worth the money. 🤯
What is the best gamer headset for 200usd? please help me.
I just bought the turtle beach stealth pros and their Amazing.... Zero problems as of right now.... I still have the Bang N Olufsen Beoplay Portals which sound great but gave me a bunch of connection problems after downloading the Dolby Atmos .... I actually bad connection problems with Steel Series Artics 9s n TB 700 Gen2s w/o USB dongle...
Which one sound better?
@quietgameplays8246 they both have amazing sound, great bass, clear highs. I'd choose Bang N Olufsen over Stealth Pros if they didn't have connection problems with my Xbox but since I went through 2 consoles Stealth Pros has its own dedicated Transmitter n extra battery haven't lost connection yet....
Thanks.
You can change mic output via the app, under the setting mic sensitivity
@@Biggysmaaalls Thank you, I've purchased this today so I cannot wait to receive them in the next few days and see what customisation I can do.

Great review, I have the A50s but my base no longer works so I basically a paper weight now. I can either spend the 100 bucks to replace the base or just upgrade to the TB. Anyone got any advice?
Would the Novas be good for competitive fps (hearing enemy’s locations etc?)

Okay Turtle is good for gaming but how is it for music? I mean you can connect it to your PS5 and phone at the same time right? How is that? And how does it sound bass and volume if i only want to use it for listening music?

Thanks. I got the Stealth pro. I love it
Why can't turtle beach just put a damn 3.5mm port on both the TB Stealth 700 Gen2/Stealth 700 Gen 2 MAX/ and this new TB Stealth Pro?
I currently have the arctis 9 wired, but I want to go wireless, I'll be buying the turtle Beach qnd given them a shot.
Are you on PC or console?
I purchased the nova pro and was shocked at how tiny and cheap they sound for £300 headset I sent them back and purchased Audeze and never been happier
