Welcome to this unboxing, overview, speed test and running tests of the brand new 1/12 scale 3S brushless RC buggy from Rlaarlo, the X12S!
This remarkable RC buggy is Ready to Run out the box, all you need are 4 AA batteries for the transmitter!
The new X12S buggy features a host of high spec and tuneable features such as:
adjustable oil filled alloy shocks
adjustable camber and toe
front and rear sway bars (AKA anti-roll bars)
adjustable ride height
full hex hardware
CNC machined alloy chassis and shock towers

Well it is definitely a tough little buggy! It rips along well in just about any condition! I am glad to see what was a very small company really pushing it and making it big in the RC market.

Woodland leaves and sticks are tough on 1/10 scale so that thing did well. Great edit seeing it blast over the tree and clobber you with two different camera angles lol. Glad no injuries incurred. 👍🏻

That's a cool buggy for sure, Mark! They really managed to create a nice little option for someone who needs a cool buggy, but doesn't want a big RC, and 14th scale might be too small... I think 12th sclae is perfect! I got my eyes on a 12th scale buggy also at some point, but not just yet, this makes me even more eager to get to it, he he...

Bought one ran two packs through it rear shock mount is cracked and front shock bent shame looks great maybe a good shelf queen
Sorry to hear of those issues with yours, I think if you just run on softer surfaces like grass and dirt the buggy should hold up OK, but concrete is a different story when it comes to a 35mph+ RC car!
You definitely get your money's worth and then some with these RCs. Looks like a good little runner! 🫡

I’ve got the X 12 S and it’s a beautiful little car. I did the shock tower modification and haven’t had a chance to run it yet though. Turtle RC said that his shock tower broke even after doing the modification so I’m interested to see long-term, how it lasts. (By shock tower breaking, I mean where the shock tower attaches to the plastic differential housing, not the tower itself)
Glad you are enjoying your X12S! I did see that other channels have broken the shock tower mounting points but I don't think I went too crazy with mine. "With just Normal" driving I think the buggy will last a long time! Stay away from concrete landings! Good luck with yours!
Does seem a lot of buggy for the money. You were lucky the skate park was dry, I was out today ours was soaking without rain the dew every day had been horrid.

3s is so powerful, I put the stock 17T pinion in my Tamiya just to get it going, I inserted the 3s battery and on the 8.5T sensored motor its bloody uncontrollable it's so much violent power , I've never had a 3s powered machine before , I can't even give it full throttle Its scary but it does make my adrenaline run

I turned the punch down to 1 from 7 factory setting, it's a bit more manageable ,still roasts the tires if I floor it 😅
Oh yes 3S makes a massive difference over 2S! I don't think I'd dare try it in one of my Tamiyas though - I predict a plastic explosion!!! 😂👍
Top Force. I bought it in '93 in Korea. I was 19yrd.old and was my first duty in the Army. I was a mechanic and it took me 11 hrs. to put it together. Truly loved that buggy! #1 Tamaya Top Force!

These Rlaaro chappies seem to be making a serious impact on the RC market.
It would be interesting to see whos responsible for their designs as they obviously have knowledge and experience,and clearly know what they are doing.

Hi James! Yes Rlaarlo really have done their research and are coming out with some world class RC's! I think it might be a case of looking at what is best in the market and cherry picking all the best features.

In all honesty it really bugs me with the other greenies.....
I've got so many running video ideas ready (figure of eight time trials, races, woodland rally trials, beach bashes etc) but I just can't get them out during the winter months!
Videos that I just can't pull off by myself.... I can come up with the video ideas, and do the editing but I can't drive multiple cars and film all at the same time.
We also shoot everything on taylors iPhone as my camera is pants.
It just blatantly restricts the channel in so many ways. 🙄
The irony is, the fresh air and exercise would actually do them a lot of good with their health 'issues'!!

I was up to a buy but seeing a growing number of really unsatisfied guys which were in contact with rlaarlos customer service. I let it be for now.
They do get back to you. It just takes several days. It’s a trade-off. It’s a cheap buggy for a lesser level of customer service versus the more expensive American ones with top-notch customer service and parts availability.
Sad to hear that, my communications with Rlaarlo have been excellent. Being of the other side of the world means you won't get an instant reply though!
I kinda don't like the knock-off liveries. It doesn't even really make sense on a buggy either; it's not like it's emulating an actual car like the Rally car liveries are. I really liked the direction they were going with the artwork on the Omni and the ROG1. Oh well guess I'll just have to pick up a clear body when I pick it up.

I have this truck and the typhon Grom blx. The x12s blows the typhon away. If you can find another truck that is as good as the x12s for 170$ let me know.

Tamiya been left well behind in such short time but beatties in new street bham and there tamiya childhood memorys hpi traxxas etc gone too expensive tamiya too much extras paint servos etc but still nice too build but these rlaarlo value for first time rc kids would laugh at the 70s rc cars the werewolf i got one best ive brought esp these cheap chinese sites just the import tax bit crap but blame reeves the bank clark and liebour gov
