Firstly i want to say Rlaarlo did an epic job with the X12s but i do find myself questioning was another 1/12th buggy even required? I mean there are so many to choose from already including their own AM-X12 which after releasing this they have kind of rendered that no longer appealing as everyone wants the latest and greatest right? I get that the ROG1 was a good platform to expand on but why not something different? Why not a Short Course for example? I know there is another desert truck on the way which will almost certainly be based on the ROG1 as well and very similar to the X12s with different wheels/tyres and body but the old AM-D12 was already really good! Rlaarlo have made odd choices in the past so this is nothing new. I've never been to a skate park simply because I want my rcs to last a long time for me to enjoy. Not everyone has Kevin Talbot money. If I want to jump I'll take my ramp to a nice park with nicely cut grass and do modest jumps.

Feel better soon!! Im just now getting over a cold and so is my daughter. Our buggy is still in the box, we got back from Christmas vacation on friday night and i had 8 more new ones in my garage that my brother locked up for me while feeding our dogs, but I'm going to test this little buggy out next. I hear the same thing, that speedruns don't really test a RC completely and i counter with launching them off of,over or into concrete skateparks definitely doesn't test them completely. I work too hard to pay for my stuff to destroy it. Before my previous channel was hacked and i lost soooo many subscribers and i actually got some demo review RC cars i still didn’t destroy them regardless if i didn’t pay for them or not. Im not knocking what anyone does with their cars or on their channel but the same courtesy would be nice regarding mine. When I'm uncertain about a specific RC i check yours and Tomleys channel first! Have a great 2025!
Really appreciate that. I have to agree. I mean im cool with people going to skateparks and running their RC cars the way they want its not my money but in regards to channels who review at skateparks that I dont agree with. Many times I have seen perfectly good RC cars labelled as bad due to breaking at a skatepark which was inevitable right? I mean any RC car landing on concrete will at some point break! My running footage/test footage can be lighter than a lot of other channels but I aim to be closer to reality and how most people/beginners in the hobby would be running their cars. The skatepark channels are there for people who enjoy that stuff and the people that dont have channels like mine. Happy new year :)
Nice to see you back and as for skate parks I don’t do them as most my cars cost a lot of money and I enjoy running them and bringing them home with out having to do lots of repairs and cost more money . I have a lot of fun with all my cars on grass and roads but I can understand if people want to trash there cars if that what they like doing .
for sure its their money but im going down the route of other people reviewing them at skateparks. I dont see it as a fair or accurate test. Just in peoples spare time sure.. from a reviewers prospective i find skatepark tests a total waste of time lol but i respect other channels vids and the way they operate just doesn't mean i have to follow the crowd and also review my cars at them :)
I really wanted this to be a 1:10 buggy so I can run it during race days at my local track. I already have a couple of 1:14 buggies, so not sure getting another off-standard scale one (even one that looks as cool as this), is gonna make sense to me. WLToys got me back into the hobby, but Rlaarlo got me investing in it again; I'd love them to release something that gets me into the social aspect of race and track-days too!
they need to start making more 1/10 or above. They have so many mini RC cars now and if they are to continue growing in 2025 and beyond they need to give the customers what they want!
I agree with the skatepark thing. I'm relatively new to the hobby, and it doesn't matter if I take an Arrma, or an MJX it always ends abruptly when they break at the skatepark. I've seen many kids take their RCs to the skatepark and feelings always get hurt. I only do small jumps, but I always cringe when I hear the chassis slap!

Very welcome. Blue looks great too! I noticed that every review out there has one goal in mind.. push it to destruction lol. What about the people who want to run it normally? The destruction stuff is so overdone.. overrated and kind of boring in 2025! Way more to RC cars than durability and outright destruction..
I love my ROG1 so as long as the X12 performs as well, hopefully people choose it over other 1:12 scale buggies on the market. I still think a 1:8 scale Omni Terminator would be impressive. That thing is sooo good.
Like you I have had the dreaded lergy over christmas as well lol. When they first announced the new X12s I was very excited, waiting to order one once more details were released. Very di sappointed that it didnt have a center diff once detals were finally released. Not enough different to the old AM12 buggy for me to want the X12s, we were spoilt by how good the Omni Terminator is.
I'm just simply jealous of those skateparks. Nothing like that for dozens of miles for me. NY is a tree filled paradise that so happens to have... ugh. NYC in it.
Short answer “yes” I’d like to see something different. I love buggies, but ya we’ve got enough of this type out there. I like the Omni Terminator platform ALOT! The center diff! It’s a game changer for handling. I’d love to see the OT platform get other trim options: buggy, short course, desert racer etc.
Only negative I can say about this buggy and I do own one is that it doesn't come with any lights I have to install my own and it's proven to be a challenge a little bit. But it is fast is tough. It is reliable. It is fun to jump ramps with it. Just fly really good in the air but I agree with you. I wish they would have come out as I could a desert truck or trophy truck short course truck also on the rog1 and I love that truck. It's excellent. I like it a little bit better than I like the buggy. It feels tougher. It looks meaner to me. I also have the black one
Would love a video that goes through the differences between styles, buggy, truggy, crawler etc with the reasons why you’d buy one type . That way I could choice the style of RC that would suit my needs , my local terrain etc does that make sense?
No, we wanted a 1/10 buggy on the OT platform, Rlaarlo has the AM-X12 already a good 1/12 buggy, and a 1/14 buggy too. The X12S rear shock tower is a weakness too, seen a few break them clean off now. Rlaarlo need to do what Arrma does well, use a chassis and make the most of it, in this case, the OT platform should be developed into a buggy, a short course truck, and anything else they can wangle it into. And they need to get away from this rubbish tiny hardware too, and use sealed bearings, many have had bearing failures.
@@beyondRC This platform is 1/10 but not for the monster truck as they are typically a little larger, thus the 'Mini' nomenclature when they should just have called the OT 1/12, an executive decision that was simply wrong IMO, and many others. But the XTS is 1/10 so it depends on the type of vehicle they use this chassis for. I do hope they release more on this platform, and soon.
@@Bonurges This OT chassis is 1/10, as the XTS shows, but not for a monster truck as they are typically larger. They should have called it 1/12 for the OT, but who cares? It's a great truck even with some issues. A 1/10 buggy and then a short course truck and I'll be happy for a while. But I'd like to see them do a drift car too, reckon they'd do that really well.
I agree. Skatepark bashing, or just extreme hardcore bashing, is not something i put my cars through. Even tire burnouts get on my nerves. I hate waste. PS heavy accent is getting better 😅
Hey bro. Appreciate the video, especially as you're ill. You did an amazing video/'tutorial on lipo batteries a while back. I still refer to it, but now I'm struggling to figure out chargers. I have many which have come with the rc but are slow. I worry about lipo safety too. I bought an expensive one? Gens ace. It's great but doesn't have the extensions to run say, an xt150, ec5? I'd love to see you review chargers, but mostly explain what it's all about. Much love to your channel ❤️
Skate park bashing is just a way to simulate 3 months of ownership in one battery. Most people will drive straight into a kerb or car tyre on the first run and it's good to see if the RC will survive such impacts.
@@beyondRC I make videos too and when I see tubers intentionally destroy a Brand New $1000 RC at a skatepark for views…it makes me mad knowing that most viewers cannot afford a $1000 RC and someone destroys one for fun. Regardless if they paid for it or not.
Hi,loved the video looks a some car,I've just came into RC cars my best mate passed me one on as he had 2 and I couldn't thank him enough,it's a RC 144010 brushless buggy tryggy style I think 🤔,but it's on 2 s does support 3s with a 60 amp etc,but runs a some on 2s can buy every single part/upgrades the car does out box rtr 52 mph with so many upgrades u can get for this car I'm gonna make a channel about this car as it's less than £100 to buy even cheaper in different sites but no offence on Ur video it was great,just saying I'm gonna show case this car to show how versatile and upgrades so easy to get as being a 4x4 aswell it's a flying machine,I will do a run to show mph as I find not 1 person has showcased this car so so underrated and perfect price on car rtr and upgrades wow Ty for video sorry to comment on this other car but not one person has put a tidy review of it up yet so I will be doing that,Tia any people has this RC 144010 4x4 less than £100 and upgrades unbelievable prices can't wait to show case it compared to price off other cars durability Ty

I had a big problem with my ROG 1 snapping cvd's. I adjusted droop,I put o rings in the cups to absorb shock and still ended up breaking 5 but ever since I upgraded to the S2 tool steel cvd's (2 weeks ago) I've had no problems. So to me it's a necessary upgrade.
I like the X12s. But as I have the AMX-12 I won’t be buying this one. But. Been in some of the meetings for the 1/6 speed car. For sure they’ll take their time over this one. But from all the design inputs from various speed runners across the world. It’s sure to be epic. That’s the one I’m looking forward to. If the AK-917 is anything to go by. The new 1/6 speed car is surely going to be a thing of beauty.

NO. i do not feel sorry for skate park breaks. We need to give everyone a sheet of paper to read on every arrival at the skate part that states :" RC at own risk. Concrete is very hard and will send incredible shock waves through your vehicle causing damage and weakened parts to break later. edges with steel slider covers can break a car in half. "😅

its good. Very good but with lots of options already out there it was a pointless release. Thats my opinion. Its a solid 1/12 buggy if that's what you are looking for .This or the AM-x12 wont disappoint

Skatepark should really only be if you have good air control. Regardless if the car is durable if you suck at air control you’ll break the toughest of the toughest. Yeah it’s fun to watch others do it but I can’t afford to just destroy my toys.
Look like a nice buggy but I'd would have preferred a 1/10 ready to race buggy. Their quality seems to be there but I'm tired of mini basher buggies. I'd love to see these companies put out 2 and 4wd raceable products.
The X12 is going to steer people away from the 1/14 croboll/rlaarlo buggy! Although it's arguably just a suped up WL toys, its speed is blistering fast, blows the x12 out of the water!
Much rather see how a buggy runs in the dirt then on a skate park. Nothing against skate park vids unless they are just there to brake the buggy (just pointless, Never understood it, Not entertaining) but the dirt is there natural environment.
Skate parks are fine but when an RC vehicle breaks, don't wine about it and that doesn't prove durability. Before skate parks we launched electric and nitros off natural terrain. Didn't break half as much like one does on concrete. But I understand that in big cities that's all you got. I get it.
I just bought it but I have the original version (without the S) the new one does not do anything for me really. Not like the Rog 1 or the rally car (I have them as well).
100% agree on skatepark being nothing more than a durability testing ground. So maybe you tubers do it to show durability but why then would your average rc'er need to do it. I don't see any fun in it myself but then again, that's my opinion. Like my pops always said, opinions are like a$$holes, everyone's got one and they all stink.lol
In the boroughs of NYC nobody to know stupid skate parks were on road & dirt out here cause that’s all we got skate parks are in the suburbs, and that doesn’t exist in the five boroughs of New York City
I don't beat up my cars that much either, but not all skateparks are the same, and saying skatepark bashing is bad for the hobby is a bit daft, IMHO. My local skatepark is awful, huge vertical ramps with no room for error, so i avoid it. Whereas, the one in the next town is much more forgiving - 45 degree ramps, a nice bowl and large grassy run off areas.
The problem I have with it from a creators perspective is its not a accurate test of how good an RC car is and I wish a lot of creators would see past the skatepark stuff. It was made popular by one large channel (now everyone copies) and its had enough influence to change the hobby entirely especially with the younger generation. I have spoken to hobby shop owners in the past and kids have come into stores asking for "The best skatepark RC car" and "will this handle the abuse" this was never a thing when I was growing up. I have young kids myself and the image I like to show my boys is we respect what we are given not cause mass destruction which costs a lot of money to repair. We are all different and whilst you may not see the damage its causing to the hobby it certainly exists and its not something I will promote ever again. Now the non creators prospective.. people are free to do what they want with their money as it doesn't concern me :)
@beyondRC Calm down fella, I get your point entirely. As I said, I don't beat my cars up too bad, I was brought up to respect things as well. But there are skateparks and then there are skateparks. If someone with their first rc car sends it off a vertical ramp at 50mph and is surprised it gets damaged, then they are simply stupid. Sorry. Kev and other YT people don't hide the fact that they spend a fortune on parts.

Yeah we could take a real car to a skate park as well. If we jumped a real car to scale we could see how it does. If I launch my Toyota truck 30-40 feet in the air. If i drop from 40 feet on the front of my truck and I get a dent or airbags go off. I guess my truck is trash then… 🙄
Nobody i know drives their RC's like any reviewer really, especially at skate parks where we just don't go. why would we? What is the appeal of running your RC to the point where you have to shell out on spares because you break them? its ok if your RC hobby is funded by a you tube channel but for almost all of us it isn"t. i mean you would'nt ask whether the car you are buying for the kids school run is anygood as a rally car right? just making the point that the car should be judged on how it performs doing what you want to do with it not on it's ability to survive click bate videos of destruction.
Me and my sons have cars that will never see a skatepark and we have cars where their sole purpose is skatepark bashing. In my book any 1/10 and smaller are perfectly at home in a skatepark. Remember, YOU choose what you do with it.
This is exactly it. I find its an unfair test on an RC car and lots of cars have been labelled as bad in the past due to breaking at skateparks. There are so many factors to consider not just durability! People are free to run their cars where they wish but I stand by what I say and that is fellow reviewers should not base their opinions around skateparks and how cars hold up at them.
@@Basher_Buggy I agree, you choose what to do with it. Its your hobby, your money and up to every individual.The only point I would not agree with is any 1/10 and below suitable for a skate park. Different cars perform differnetly in different environments, most are not going to survive bashing around in a skate park. The smaller and lighter the more likely they will just because of physics. The idea that an RC Car is judged on durability by is skate park survival has only come about because of click bait you tubers.Last point,,,, I have a TA RC8 1/8 buggy, it runs on rails, is fantastic to run on dirt, gravel and grass. It is very tough but I would never bash this heavy buggy around in a concrete skate park.. it is not designed for it and it would likely break, but it does not mean that this fantastic buggy is rubbish.

I kind of Mispoke by saying any 1/10 scale, there is a lot out there in the 1/10 and smaller that are incredibly durable and can even last a season of skatepark bashing with very minor repairs and maintenance. But I’m in that same world as well, I have 1/5 desert trucks and 1/8 buggys that I’m incredibly fond of and enjoy driving very much, I would never take them to a skatepark because that’s not what they are designed to do. I totally agree, how an RC performs in a skatepark means nothing because one wrong landing on concrete COULD break any model on the market.

To be fair KT does go over board with testing in skate park . But if he tests it and it survives I know 100% I won't even get it dirty in comparison 😂

Good RC, I packed 15k losi grease in the Front diff, 5k in the rear, and added a Dumbo Gyro.
I have ordered the Gyro at same time as the X12S from Rlaarlo does this make a difference for a newbie with no skill !
Yes we did need it. The X12S is the best mini basher buggy out there at this time.

@@beyondRC This platform is 1/10 but not for the monster truck as they are typically a little larger, thus the 'Mini' nomenclature when they should just have called the OT 1/12, an executive decision that was simply wrong IMO, and many others. But the XTS is 1/10 so it depends on the type of vehicle they use this chassis for. I do hope they release more on this platform, and soon.

I agree. Skatepark bashing, or just extreme hardcore bashing, is not something i put my cars through. Even tire burnouts get on my nerves. I hate waste.

You did an amazing video/'tutorial on lipo batteries a while back. I still refer to it, but now I'm struggling to figure out chargers. I have many which have come with the rc but are slow. I worry about lipo safety too. I bought an expensive one? Gens ace. It's great but doesn't have the extensions to run say, an xt150, ec5? I'd love to see you review chargers, but mostly explain what it's all about. Much love to your channel ❤️
Skate park bashing is just a way to simulate 3 months of ownership in one battery. Most people will drive straight into a kerb or car tyre on the first run and it's good to see if the RC will survive such impacts.
Its good channels out there do the skatepark vids then :) Just not something I will entertain unfortunately.

@@beyondRC I make videos too and when I see tubers intentionally destroy a Brand New $1000 RC at a skatepark for views…it makes me mad knowing that most viewers cannot afford a $1000 RC and someone destroys one for fun. Regardless if they paid for it or not.
My AM X12 Does 55 with the speed pinion. It drives great. Plus the other available rc's... Sure it's tougher but we did not need it.

Hi,loved the video looks a some car,I've just came into RC cars my best mate passed me one on as he had 2 and I couldn't thank him enough,it's a RC 144010 brushless buggy tryggy style I think 🤔,but it's on 2 s does support 3s with a 60 amp etc,but runs a some on 2s can buy every single part/upgrades the car does out box rtr 52 mph with so many upgrades u can get for this car I'm gonna make a channel about this car as it's less than £100 to buy even cheaper in different sites but no offence on Ur video it was great,just saying I'm gonna show case this car to show how versatile and upgrades so easy to get as being a 4x4 aswell it's a flying machine,I will do a run to show mph as I find not 1 person has showcased this car so so underrated and perfect price on car rtr and upgrades wow

I had a big problem with my ROG 1 snapping cvd's. I adjusted droop,I put o rings in the cups to absorb shock and still ended up breaking 5 but ever since I upgraded to the S2 tool steel cvd's (2 weeks ago) I've had no problems. So to me it's a necessary upgrade.

I like the X12s. But as I have the AMX-12 I won’t be buying this one. But. Been in some of the meetings for the 1/6 speed car. For sure they’ll take their time over this one. But from all the design inputs from various speed runners across the world. It’s sure to be epic. That’s the one I’m looking forward to. If the AK-917 is anything to go by. The new 1/6 speed car is surely going to be a thing of beauty.

NO. i do not feel sorry for skate park breaks. We need to give everyone a sheet of paper to read on every arrival at the skate part that states :" RC at own risk. Concrete is very hard and will send incredible shock waves through your vehicle causing damage and weakened parts to break later. edges with steel slider covers can break a car in half. "😅

its good. Very good but with lots of options already out there it was a pointless release. Thats my opinion. Its a solid 1/12 buggy if that's what you are looking for .This or the AM-x12 wont disappoint

You have to switch to the included speed pinion. Most reviewers aren't detecting any heat issues, and it gets 50mph.

Skatepark should really only be if you have good air control. Regardless if the car is durable if you suck at air control you’ll break the toughest of the toughest. Yeah it’s fun to watch others do it but I can’t afford to just destroy my toys.
There are a lot of things we dont need, but we get them anyway, do we need rc cars the answer is no we will live without them, we choose not to 😂😂😂👌

Look like a nice buggy but I'd would have preferred a 1/10 ready to race buggy. Their quality seems to be there but I'm tired of mini basher buggies. I'd love to see these companies put out 2 and 4wd raceable products.

The X12 is going to steer people away from the 1/14 croboll/rlaarlo buggy! Although it's arguably just a suped up WL toys, its speed is blistering fast, blows the x12 out of the water!

Much rather see how a buggy runs in the dirt then on a skate park. Nothing against skate park vids unless they are just there to brake the buggy (just pointless, Never understood it, Not entertaining) but the dirt is there natural environment.

Skate parks are fine but when an RC vehicle breaks, don't wine about it and that doesn't prove durability. Before skate parks we launched electric and nitros off natural terrain. Didn't break half as much like one does on concrete. But I understand that in big cities that's all you got. I get it.

100% agree on skatepark being nothing more than a durability testing ground. So maybe you tubers do it to show durability but why then would your average rc'er need to do it. I don't see any fun in it myself but then again, that's my opinion. Like my pops always said, opinions are like a$$holes, everyone's got one and they all stink.lol

In the boroughs of NYC nobody to know stupid skate parks were on road & dirt out here cause that’s all we got skate parks are in the suburbs, and that doesn’t exist in the five boroughs of New York City
I don't beat up my cars that much either, but not all skateparks are the same, and saying skatepark bashing is bad for the hobby is a bit daft, IMHO. My local skatepark is awful, huge vertical ramps with no room for error, so i avoid it. Whereas, the one in the next town is much more forgiving - 45 degree ramps, a nice bowl and large grassy run off areas.
The problem I have with it from a creators perspective is its not a accurate test of how good an RC car is and I wish a lot of creators would see past the skatepark stuff. It was made popular by one large channel (now everyone copies) and its had enough influence to change the hobby entirely especially with the younger generation. I have spoken to hobby shop owners in the past and kids have come into stores asking for "The best skatepark RC car" and "will this handle the abuse" this was never a thing when I was growing up. I have young kids myself and the image I like to show my boys is we respect what we are given not cause mass destruction which costs a lot of money to repair. We are all different and whilst you may not see the damage its causing to the hobby it certainly exists and its not something I will promote ever again. Now the non creators prospective.. people are free to do what they want with their money as it doesn't concern me :)
@beyondRC Calm down fella, I get your point entirely. As I said, I don't beat my cars up too bad, I was brought up to respect things as well. But there are skateparks and then there are skateparks. If someone with their first rc car sends it off a vertical ramp at 50mph and is surprised it gets damaged, then they are simply stupid. Sorry. Kev and other YT people don't hide the fact that they spend a fortune on parts.

Yeah we could take a real car to a skate park as well. If we jumped a real car to scale we could see how it does. If I launch my Toyota truck 30-40 feet in the air. If i drop from 40 feet on the front of my truck and I get a dent or airbags go off. I guess my truck is trash then… 🙄

Nobody i know drives their RC's like any reviewer really, especially at skate parks where we just don't go. why would we? What is the appeal of running your RC to the point where you have to shell out on spares because you break them? its ok if your RC hobby is funded by a you tube channel but for almost all of us it isn"t. i mean you would'nt ask whether the car you are buying for the kids school run is anygood as a rally car right? just making the point that the car should be judged on how it performs doing what you want to do with it not on it's ability to survive click bate videos of destruction.
Me and my sons have cars that will never see a skatepark and we have cars where their sole purpose is skatepark bashing. In my book any 1/10 and smaller are perfectly at home in a skatepark. Remember, YOU choose what you do with it.
This is exactly it. I find its an unfair test on an RC car and lots of cars have been labelled as bad in the past due to breaking at skateparks. There are so many factors to consider not just durability! People are free to run their cars where they wish but I stand by what I say and that is fellow reviewers should not base their opinions around skateparks and how cars hold up at them.
@@Basher_Buggy I agree, you choose what to do with it. Its your hobby, your money and up to every individual.The only point I would not agree with is any 1/10 and below suitable for a skate park. Different cars perform differnetly in different environments, most are not going to survive bashing around in a skate park. The smaller and lighter the more likely they will just because of physics. The idea that an RC Car is judged on durability by is skate park survival has only come about because of click bait you tubers.Last point,,,, I have a TA RC8 1/8 buggy, it runs on rails, is fantastic to run on dirt, gravel and grass. It is very tough but I would never bash this heavy buggy around in a concrete skate park.. it is not designed for it and it would likely break, but it does not mean that this fantastic buggy is rubbish.

I kind of Mispoke by saying any 1/10 scale, there is a lot out there in the 1/10 and smaller that are incredibly durable and can even last a season of skatepark bashing with very minor repairs and maintenance. But I’m in that same world as well, I have 1/5 desert trucks and 1/8 buggys that I’m incredibly fond of and enjoy driving very much, I would never take them to a skatepark because that’s not what they are designed to do. I totally agree, how an RC performs in a skatepark means nothing because one wrong landing on concrete COULD break any model on the market.
