You found the 132kw motor quite acceptable. Why then I wonder do US and Canadian reviewers say their 185hp (137.2kw) 2litre engine is gutless and needs more power? Does their engine have less torque maybe. I’m yet to test drive ours so I don’t know personally. Very thorough review btw.
I'd say that's likely due to the US-spec Tiguan having an eight-speed torque converter auto rather than the DSG, meaning more inherent power loss through the drivetrain, along with it making around 20Nm less torque
I have a 132tsi comfortline 2019, my car has 19 inch wheels and the driver assistance package but I would have taken this package had it been available in January. My car has done 34,000 klm in 11 months and is averaging 7.5l/100 klm. ( outer metropolitan driving ) one cool feature is that the climate control air conditioning is separately controlled for the rear as well and can be adjusted from the centre screen if you have children strapped in car seats or in our case our 2 dogs. Thanks for the report
Hi Branislav. Not sure where you are based, but for the Australian market where we are, the 132TSI is still one of the engine options we have available, the only others being 110TSI and 162TSI. Unfortunately, Australia often misses out on newer engines like that due to our low-quality fuel.
Honestly, I found the 132kW/320Nm tune to be perfectly fine for overtaking manoeuvres given it still has most of the torque the 162kW/350Nm tune gives. The 162 is geared more towards spirited driving I feel as it's mostly top-end power that it adds to the mix - the mid-range torque of the 132 I think you'll probably find to be enough for what you're after.

Also the Americans only get the allspace which is longer and heavier
No idea the Australian version is quick as I’ve got one , in sports mode it’s a beast
I am sold. Looking to buy one now 😊

Which fuel do you used? 7.5L/100km is pretty good
Sam I use mostly 98 fuel, I live in the Southern Highlands so most of my driving is highway driving
love the car
In 2019 is TSI 2.0 140kW - 190hp. 132kW is older one engine till 2018.

@@DriveSection you are right. I ts for Europe market.
Is it it worth upgrading power wise to 16w, for open for open road, driving and overtaking,

@@DriveSection awesome.as we are looking at the 132 r line in Australia and we drive 400 to 800 km for open road so we need to over take trucks etc
@@DriveSection mate great content and review, have you compared the cx5 versus vw by any chance, love to hear your thoughts
