I prefer correction tape (Pentel). Just yesterday I had a problem trying to use the PaperMate correction pen, it literally exploded! Not that the brand in itself is bad, but correction tape is safer and not messier at all. Good video, JetPens!
I know this is off topic but I want to see a video about high school/middle school note books, I’ve seen a few of your videos that talk about note books but they never really talk about pages and what people have to say about how fast they use them/go through the note books.
An office I worked in had a ton of disco-era stationery. One of the items was literal correction tape, a 6mm-wide roll of paper with a sticky backing. Very easy to write on, but because it was actual paper, it would sit slightly proud of the document's surface. Actually quite practical!
This unlocked a memory for me. I used to use sticker paper as a correction tape because my parents refused to buy me one saying an elementary student doesn't need it.
I've been watching videos on Stationery Fest, which I missed this year because of a family member's health issue. I hope they have one again in the New York area and that this time JetPens will send some of our favorite people.
I thought life was going ok. But then this correction tape CHANGED MY LIFE! I can scarcely recognize the person I used to be before I bought this correction tape.
I prefer to use acrylic paint markers as correction. They dry faster than correction fluids and once it's dry, I can use my fountain pen over it without issues. Depending on the paper I might even just glue a piece of the same type of paper on top
Ohh, that’s an excellent idea! Do they work better than gel pens (which I have zero luck with?) Any suggestions on pain pen brand…I don’t know anything about them, really. Thanks for the idea!!
@@mollymollie6048 I have had good luck with pilot, sharpie and fabercastel brands. Posca takes too long to dry and isn't opaque enough. But my friend said I just had a bad batch Posca. I'm not sure because I haven't tried again. But, yes, in my experience it works better than gel pens
Matching the correction tape color to the paper type is super helpful, thank you!! I have used refillable correction tapes and adhesive dispensers, but truthfully, I wish the dispensers would simply be recylable. The reason why is that refillable dispensers sometimes get build up. The biggest challenge I have in using correction tape is lining up the tape properly to ensure proper coverage. Perhaps making the tips clear and see thru would help? Thanks again for the informative and helpful videos highlighting useful products for us stationery aficianados! 💌
White-Out was a savior in the days of typewriters that didn’t have backspace correction tape (meaning, pretty much all of them prior to personal computers becoming common) and you got very good at it. I’d use it over a white gel pen, cause I never have good luck with that (yes, I use the good ones, Uni 1.0 and Gelly Roll 1.0) and it worked great with typewriter ink…not so great with handwriting on paper. It was fun to paint your nails with when you were bored in 7th grade, lol. I really like the correction tapes a lot and I have a few different brands, and as a needle tip fan with a hard pressing death grip, I tear through cheap correction tape, and have found the Tombow (that comes in the colored cases…can’t find my bag right now…pretty sure it’s the Mono) to be the best at resisting that! I love Rhodia paper and have a Rhodia Goalbook A5 which is very cream paper (the Rollbahn/Delfonics tape is perfect for it.) White-Out brand correction tape is a nope for me, as is Bic. (I live in a stationery desert, so if I run out of something, sometimes I have to grab whatever Target has, and I like to try out different products anyway.) But, White-Out has a fond place in my heart, and quite frankly…I haven’t tried it, but I’m going to get a bottle and test it on some good paper with gel pens (and maybe a few others) and see if it’s better than using a white gel pen! (I love science…haha, now you got me excited about buying a bottle of White-Out for experiments!)
@@JetPens You’re welcome! Can I also compliment whomever did the voice over for this video? She has a great voice and is very pleasant to listen to, I hope you continue to have her in future videos (as voice over or on camera.)
I can relate with the typewriter, and yes I used the Pentel correction tape to correct few mistakes while typing on a typewriter more than 20+ years ago. Oh, you use Uni 1.0 gel pens as correction tape. That's cool idea!
@@doraima29 the Uni 1.0 white gel pen works ok to fix small mistakes (depends on the paper, seems to smear Energel 0.5 on some papers) and it’s really juicy so you have to wait for it to dry (blow on it) but I’ve had good luck with it on paper that is less slick. Gelly Roll also works, but the white isn’t quite as saturated…but it doesn’t smear what you’re trying to cover as much either. I wouldn’t use it for more than a letter or two, otherwise the Tombow tapes work well (and the Rohrbahn also for the cream Rhodia Goal book).
This reminds me.. Back to School is almost over, and I haven’t made my JetPens order yet.. but this also reminds me I should add some correction tape to the cart 😂
Thank you for doing this segment and differentiating popular brands, color opacities and what widths are available at JetPens. I am a long time correction tape user for more than 10 years. Ever since Pentel or Bic has the correction pen to block out mistakes, but I definitely hate how you have to wait for more than 1 min to dry out to resume writing. Correction tapes are a game changer. I tend to go for Tombow, and bought the WP Whiper recently that is great on how I grip pens and other writing instruments. What I am amazed are the washi tape dispensers that act as correction tape which is also a game changer, but they only are available for a limited time. So refills are not as common> I wanted to order some of these but I am very particular on food related designs to match the notebooks by categorizing them on top left of each notebook paper. That would be a cool idea for me!
If your pencil case is already full, it's time to buy an additional one or a bigger one. You can't have too many pencil cases. I have them in all sizes and colors, depending on my needs and mood that day.
I use many book types Lihit lab pencil cases for other uses: pencil case, electronics cable organizers and other usb storage, a first aid kit, sewing kit, gel pens storage and a survival kit-on-th go. I like the large capacity storage cases as it is has a versatile design too. And the Lihit Lab Book types pencil cases come in different color ways, and have 2 book types that can carry a variety of items.
I cut stickers up and put them over the mistake and write over it ... I also save the return lables any bits that dont have writing on them can be used for any mistakes with most writing devices :)
I overused corection fluid in 3rd grade as my parents open a limited company at home so I was surrounded by office stationery. My notes were too messy that the headteacher had to meet me and my mom to advise us to not using it, at least not excessively, since correction tapes and fuliuds are not allowed in exams. Crossing out mistakes neatly is given as the alternative option. I hardly use correction tapes nor fluid afterwards unless it's the best option. I still keep some around, just in case. For context, in my country, students are required to write in ink using fountain pens after practicing writing well enough in pencil in the 1st semester of 1st grade. Pencils are only allowed in specified situations to prevent cheating during tests , and to make sure the notes won't be smudged or changed by without clear traces by students. In elementary school, notes are collected and checked by teachers frequently to make sure students wrote down everything the teachers wrote on the board and that students got all the notes on school work and homework corrections and announcements. Student notes are also used as a form of communication between the teachers and parents or guardians, hence the need to make it as permanent as possible. This practice was reduced during junior high and stopped once students entered high school. In addition, since calligraphy is seen as a form of character training, neat and clean notes are seen as positive, showing the students' diligence and conscientiousness. This is now different in private or international schools, but generally the same for public schools.
I got the Plus Whiper Petit Correction Tape, whatever size the green one is, for my Leuchtturm and am OVER THE MOON with how well it blends with the paper. I only use it occasionally to cover up the Date/Datum text when I feel like it but it's a great tool. Not sure if it's the perfect fit for between the lines since I don't use it for that, but if you're a Leuchtturm Notebook junkie, that Whiper Petit is awesome!
Correction tape is a must-have for me at all times! I will start writing letters for the following word if I let my attention slip. (Ex: Writing "I loJe Jet Pens"). I go through the stuff SO fast, and I can't wait around for fluid to dry with how often I use it. (My paper would become a white smeary mess with my left-handed writing.) 🖋TIP! 🖋 For those who need to make corrections for fountain pen writing, I highly recommend picking up a roll of white paper tape! Because it's paper, you can write on it with any kind of writing instrument, but it's also sitting on top of the paper much more obviously than correction fluid, so it's no replacement for correction tape. Happy Writing! 📕
I prefer correction fluid, specifically White Out. I may have to try a few of the brands mentioned since the office supply store brands of correction tape leave much room for improvement.
I never got used to using correction fluid or tape, my mom always said it was expensive and certain teachers didn't allow it. So I always just cross the mistake over.
